Hi everyone. It is nice to read everyone’s updates! @SussexLass87im sorry you have not see the progress you wanted to see. It is hard with sen kids and work and life in general!

i have been microdosing 1.75mg every week since February. My weight was stable and not moving down at 5mg so i felt i would reduce and concentrate on “body recomposition” i.e. building muscles in the gym.
Im very happy where i am, i look great naked (if i say so myself) and even better with clothes on!! Im still technically “overweight” but i dont care!
i changed haircut recently and that was so well needed! I feel so good. When i look at pictures from 2 years ago im feeling quite sad, i would like mounjaro to be free to everyone who needs it. It has been such a game changer.

@SussexLass87 - this one’s for you xx

Hey all.

I’m similar @SussexLass87 - stuck on a plateau and feeling quite fed up. I’m still sticking with it and still exercising really well, but the scales are stuck! I was a stone heavier a year ago, and hoped that massively increasing my exercise might help. But obviously not!
I feel fit and I can really feel my core muscles underneath my waist, plus my legs are stronger and leaner. People are constantly telling how well I look. So sometimes I think I should just ditch the scales and stop depressing myself constantly weighing and seeing no change.

ElsieJay · 17/10/2026 16:12

Thanks, @Apprenante - hopefully it was the right decision , just not looking forward to the clearing out process but needs must.

I’ve been trying to work out how long I’ve had those black trousers - almost sure I bought them in their Cardiff store, which had recently been refurbished.
According to Google, that was in 2012…..
Not quite up to HRH Princess Anne’s standard, but getting there ! 🤣

DBatteryBand · 18/10/2026 01:16

Lovely to hear from everyone.

All quiet here. I don't know if I'm where I want to be - BMI of 24, but I still feel I could lose more weight. I am getting lots of 'You're not going to lose any more, are you?' comments, and my mother (who for my entire life has been obsessed with how fat I am) is now saying I look 'gaunt'. I am still a size 14, I definitely do not look gaunt!

A bit of me is quietly furious that I can have a BMI of 24 and still not be in the 'thin girl' sizes. DH didn't help the other day by saying, 'Look at your big hands - you're never going to be a thin person'. He means well, but it's still bloody annoying!

Gingercar · 18/10/2026 10:10

That wasn’t very tactful or thoughtful of him!

Have you done the height to waist ratio thing? They say that’s more accurate than bmi. I do better on that scale!
I have big hands too. Once, when my husband had just had an operation and the nurse was removing a canula (sp) she remarked how big his hands were. I said they even made mine look small. She looked at my hands and said “do you two have children?” I said no, and she replied “good job, they’d have been like monkeys!” So she was even less tactful than your oh!! At a time when I was coming to terms with not being able to have children too. I nearly cried. I should have really, made her think!

ElsieJay · 19/10/2026 11:55

Ouch, @Gingercar !
Some people really don’t engage brain before speaking, do they.

Apprenante · 19/10/2026 15:38

I wonder if medical personnel get any training in how to communicate with patients or their families? We're all seeing them at very sensitive times and they need to be extra extra careful about what they say or don't say. I appreciate that it's difficult for them but maybe some training would help.

Not that that excuses your incredibly crass and hurtful nurse @Gingercar FlowersFlowersFlowers

DBatteryBand · 20/10/2026 06:23

@Gingercar some people are so insensitive.💐

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/10/2026 08:31

Gosh insensitive knob. Sorry @Gingercar.

I seem to be going between being on the wagon and off the wagon with no consistency at the moment. I had the summer off MJ to give myself a rest because dieting long term is, at times, a bloody slog, but then I got back on the wagon and was really up for it.

Then, dd had a mental health crisis. School refusing, some really worrying talk about not wanting to be here anymore. The past couple of weeks I’ve been spending hours every day listening, comforting, encouraging. It’s as though that output has created a deficit and now I am seeking comfort in a nice roaring fire in the log burner, hugs, roast dinners and thick soups.
We all have next week off so hopefully that will allow me to recharge and get back on the wagon.
I’m just done in.

Apprenante · 20/10/2026 10:58

Oh @DidILeaveTheGasOn worries about your children are the worst worries. I bet you're an excellent mum and you'll get her through this tricky bit. Sending 💚

SussexLass87 · 20/10/2026 14:50

It sounds like everyone is weighed down by so much life at the moment...sending you all hugs / gin... whatever is required.

Thanks for the kind words and support - it is really appreciated.

💐💐💐

ElsieJay · 20/10/2026 17:35

@DidILeaveTheGasOn - and this one is for you .
Sorry you and DD are having such a rotten time - you sound like the loveliest Mum xx

Thank you guys, I really appreciate it!

Apprenante · 24/10/2026 18:17

Foul weather here - dismal grey and wet. So I had a woolly jumper sort out. 😱😱😱
I'd noticed some little moths flying about in my bedroom but thought nothing of it. Obviously they were clothes moths and my lovely woollens are now mostly fit for the bin. Never having had actual wool clothes until last winter I didn't realise what devastation moth grubs could cause. Most of it was from Vinted so not horrendously expensive but 😥😥😥.

It prompted a big clear out and in the course of it I found my wedding dress last worn in 1973. It wasn't a traditional white outfit but still .... it's going in the dressing up box now but it made me smile!

Same here in London @Gingercar 🌧☂️🌚

ElsieJay · 24/10/2026 21:20

Lovely photo, @Apprenante !
We were married in the same year, though I went for the full-on white meringue dress , long ago consigned to the bin.

I remember the summer photos, @Gingercar - hope those horses are under cover today !

HKG · 24/10/2026 22:03

hi guys! Just popping up to say you guys are lovely. Miss you guys and hope everyone is staying cosy in the storm!

kiwiane · Yesterday 05:19

I can relate to many of your updates - @DidILeaveTheGasOn I wish you and your dd well.
I finally got to my goal and have lost 5 stones - I’m a size 14 at 10.5 stones and don’t see that changing; I was size 20.
At a recent Drs wellness check my waist measurement was seen as large and put me at higher risk for diabetes - I said I’m big boned and it would’ve been much higher 18 months ago!
It’s annoying that I get little credit or support from the NHS for turning my health around with my own efforts and funding; they wouldn’t give me a full blood count as they’re only interested in assessing for diabetes and cholesterol. I would’ve refused statins if they’d been deemed necessary. I take supplements but it would’ve be nice to know if they’re needed.
I also get mixed reactions from others over my weight loss - it tends to be closer family that are critical and ‘concerned’ that I’ll lose more weight. I’m maintaining on 5mg, I feel fit and active and hope I can still get out walking and cycling despite the bad weather.
