Ooh a cosy blanket sounds interesting to me! But who could be bothered lugging one to a class!

How is your daughter doing?

Gingercar · 17/09/2026 21:19

Oh - I managed to finally order a pen, despite not having ordered a pen since Xmas and having a bmi lower than the 30 requirements. I got refused by about seven pharmacies, but then got accepted by two and was too embarrassed to not accept them both, so one had to go on the credit card! Both 2.5. Im
praying for another miraculous bout of suppression! My weight went up 1lb this week after my big loss last week, but that’s ok. I am back on the exercise drive with a vengeance and enjoying it, and am doing well with the eating. Well under my calorie limit. It HAS to come off sooner or later!

HKG · 17/09/2026 23:54

Have you ever tried a t’ai chi class? I always fancy the idea of it, no sudden movements and no lying down (I always fall asleep). Perfect in the middle for me!

Gingercar · 18/09/2026 09:50

No I’ve never done any martial arts. Why not have a go?

HKG · 18/09/2026 13:53

I used to do Wing Chun which is much more combative but the t’ai chi can be just the slow meditative version that many older people in Hong Kong love. I want to do that, feels like something I’d never have to give up. I just can’t find a class that I can fit around work and kids. I will one day. You first!

ElsieJay · 18/09/2026 14:20

@Megsdaughter - Wow , just one measly pound on ? - that’s fantastic !
From what you posted seems like you were eating very sensibly , so well done you . 🥇
We have another 11 days here but it is whizzing by .
Booked on a boat trip this morning but it was cancelled due to weather - must say I was baffled as at 10am it was glorious - but have had two downpours since ☔️.
Hoping we’ve seen the last of it but it has cleared the air wonderfully !
Pain about the flight delay though - I do think Hell must be like an airport departure lounge.

@Gingercar - glad you have pen(s) sorted at last . Must be a relief .
My BFF teaches t’ai chi , she loves it and it has done wonders for her anxiety. I do some with her occasionally but can’t get myself into the almost dreamlike state she achieves. I’m a bit of a giggler, which doesn’t help ….

@Apprenante - you’ve got me thinking about Aquaerobics for when we’re home . I used to go three times a week at one point.
Hope things going smoothly for you and your DD x

Happy weekend, everyone !

DBatteryBand · 19/09/2026 11:21

All this talk of exercise makes me think of the toning tables that were all the rage in the 90s. I loved them - you just had to lie there and the machines would move your limbs about for you. My kind of exercise. There was one table that was flat and would just shake you, like a wobbly jelly. Probably not very good for you, aerobically speaking, but my giggle-muscles always had a good work out.

Thank you for asking. 4 weeks in to the immunotherapy treatment and some very strange side-effects. At times not being able to speak coherently - although she can write at length and use sophisticated sentence structures and vocabulary. Difficulty with simple decision making - e.g. food shopping . The usual (for her) SEs like swelling and going red in the face.
The hospital are concerned as they don't understand it AT ALL. So this week no immunotherapy and no steroids.... and we'll see .....

Gingercar · 19/09/2026 20:18

It must be quite a stressful time for all of you. Obviously her especially.

HKG · 20/09/2026 09:05

Morning all!

just jumping on to say I’ve just noticed a new supplier called New Life on monj.co.uk (or I’ve never seen it so cheap anyway!). I’ve just ordered a 7.5 for £168. Just in case anyone needs it.

I’ve gained incrementally this week again and feeling very disheartened. I have ordered the next pen up to go for 7.5 straight up, probs make myself sick so that I can lose the last stone.

Sorry, New Health not New Life!

Thanks HKG - I'm going to check this out.

Been a bit absent from the thread but reading and following all your news.

Life has been lifing as it does at the start of term, but I've been doing those lymphatic drainage workouts with DH for a week every morning. It's been a good way to start the day, more energy and things.

DH has been doing it for a month and he looks noticeably more toned and trimmer.

Otherwise, definitely feeling fatigue with the lack of progress. Going to make a huge pan of veggie soup later as that's always handy for lunches and things.

Hope you're all well ❤️

HKG · 20/09/2026 10:39

Not heard of those lymphatic drainage workouts, what’s that? Will check it out to try and kick start stuff!

Thank you for this. I've just looked them up and did the quick run through. At the moment they are offering 15mg as a first order price of £229 - usually £310.

I hope they are still doing this in a few weeks and then I think I will see if I can order two pens at that strength. That's a current saving of £50 per pen versus Pharmalous and is helpful in the lead up to Christmas.

Accepting it's an offer to loop you in, but still worth it and then revert back in the New Year to Pharmalous or even Medicine Marketplace with evidence of purchase elsewhere.

I'm not one to chase the offers around each month but at £50 price saving it is worth taking a look.

At that intro offer, their 15is cheaper than the 7.5 I was getting at MMP before! I hope they keep it for you!

I am back to having no suppression and raging hunger! Grrr. And the scales have gone up a lb for no reason. So I’m a bit grumpy! However.. all this exercise means I feel toned again and two or three customers have asked me if I’ve lost “even more weight” so perhaps I might need to measure myself again! My two 2.5mg pens have arrived. I think the first one is definitely old style with a golden dose, haven’t opened the other parcel yet, it just got delivered at my cafe (currently sitting next to the cakes!).

Apprenante · 20/09/2026 22:05

Maybe all the exercise is the reason for the increased hunger @Gingercar? You say you feel more toned, maybe you've increased muscle and thats the weight gain? It all sounds very healthy ro me.

HKG · 20/09/2026 22:18

@Gingercar im sorry the appetite is back, totally agree with Apprenante, all that exercise will totally up the appetite. I hope it wears off quickly. You have my total admiration for sitting next to those cakes! Keep going! You are doing tremendous!

I’ve had a terrible day being a terrible mother handling my pubescent boy terribly. Consequently been stuffing myself with all sorts of sugar and yet weirdly I don’t feel any better for it. Odd.

Gingercar · 20/09/2026 22:20

I’m not sure. It’s all going the right way, I know, just incredibly slowly. I had that wonderful week where I had suppression and it was so much easier without food noise, and I guess I’m just sad that it didn’t last any longer. But plod on I shall. Can’t do much else, except give up, and I’m not doing that.

Gingercar · 21/09/2026 12:26

I just had a measure today. In two months, despite only having gone down a meagre 3lbs, I’ve lost an inch off my bust. Two inches off my waist, and an inch off my thighs, calves and neck. So that’s made me feel a little better.

Shocking how much has gone overall since May 2025-
upper arm is down 3”
Bust is down 10”
under my bust is down 12”
waist is down 12”
hips are down 11.5”
thighs are down 5” (each)
calves are down 3”
ankles are down 2”
neck is down 4”

Hope you’re having a good day!

HKG · 21/09/2026 15:56

WOW!!!! WOWEE!!!

you must be so chuffed!!

Gingercar · 21/09/2026 21:48

Yes it makes up for the lack of movement on the scales again.
But you must be similar, no? You’re always around the same amount lost and dress size as me.

ElsieJay · 21/09/2026 22:07

The incredible shrinking @Gingercar !
