@ElsieJay where did you fly from? We left from Paphos and were boarded first special assistance were brilliant, but were told by another passanger that Larnaca were awful for it.

ElsieJay · 30/09/2026 17:36

I’d forgotten your previous career, @Gingercar - it just makes so much more sense to board the less mobile first, doesn’t
it ?
And we’ve absolutely no problem with sitting put on landing until the “fork lift van”, as we call it, arrives to assist.
Yesterday’s flight had 8 people (including my DH) with mobility issues, most had chosen seats near the front of the plane for easier toilet access, and to see them struggling to walk the length of a packed aircraft was 💔.
Moan over !

Unsure how near goal I am at the moment, as fell asleep on the sofa after collecting Madam 🐈‍⬛ and missed WW 🙄.
I don’t feel as though I’ve gained much, but time will tell ……

ElsieJay · 30/09/2026 17:50

@Megsdaughter - sorry, didn’t see your post as would have included you in mine to Ginger above !
We flew from Larnaca - and to be honest the Special Assistance guys (and only one lady, AFAIK - waves to Zena 👋) are absolutely amazing.
I would say LCA board Spec Ass passengers first about 80% of the time - yesterday was annoying , as in addition to boarding an already full plane, the “fork lift van” chose to operate at the rear entrance, meaning 8 disabled people had to struggle the length of the aisle to access their seats.
BUT in general we haven’t had many bad experiences , and are both extremely grateful to the helpers - as without them we’d not be going anywhere.

Kbr22 · 02/10/2026 11:40

Hi All, I am still titrating down, but managing to stay at my goal weight, so super happy about that. I am still reading all the threads, and glad you are still all here.

I have a question, I am going to Spain tomorrow and have to take two pens with me. I have never kept a pen out of the fridge longer than the 4 weeks, but the new one I will need in 2 weeks time. We are going for 4 weeks and will need it then.

The problem is I am staying at the airport overnight tomorrow and travelling on Sunday. I use a small thermo with small ice pack. It will not stay frozen for the whole journey. If the pen is out of the fridge for 2 days will it still be ok to use.
I am thinking that if people use the pen for longer than 4 weeks do they always have to keep it in the fridge? It will only be out of the fridge for less than 24 hours. What do you all think?

ElsieJay · 02/10/2026 12:50

Great to hear from you, @Kbr22 ! - and sounds like you’re doing brilliantly .
We recently went to Cyprus for a month and needed to take 2 pens, I bought a hard-sided zip- up case with two small ice packs - guess this was a thermopack ?

I would say they were out of the fridge for just over 24 hours ( refrigerated them immediately we were in accommodation) and I kept them refrigerated all the time we were there.

Absolutely no issues, I did check the liquid in the syringes stayed clear , and not cloudy , but other than that proceeded as normal.

Have a fab time in Spain and enjoy flaunting your new slimline figure !!

Whilst we were away, DD gave me her nearly
new gorgeous bright red swimsuit - was reminded @Megsdaughter had something similar for her holidays too.
Maybe the Class of May 2025 could adopt it as our new badge of honour ?? 🤣🤣

SignedUpAgain · 03/10/2026 10:00

Hello everyone. Still plodding along here. Same half a kilo on and off lol.
have ordered 12.5 for next pen see if that helps with food noise.

also off to USA for 12 days

ElsieJay · 03/10/2026 10:57

Good luck with the higher dosage, @SignedUpAgain - and hope you have a wonderful holiday! 🇺🇸 🗽

DBatteryBand · 03/10/2026 16:13

I need a Euromillions win. This time last year I was a size 18/16. Now I'm a 14/12. When I started Mounjaro, I was a size 22/24. Last winter I wore a winter coat from about 2009 which I had in the wardrobe. This year even that is gigantic on me. All my winter trousers and cardigans are enormous. I have just been trying on clothes in the shops and everything fits and therefore I want to buy everything!

There should be a Fat-to-Slim(ish) bursary.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 03/10/2026 16:55

I would vote for a Fat-to-Slim bursary. I’ve even changed shoe size!

When we started, I was 240lbs and a size 18-20. I’m now 162lbs and a size 12-14. I’m 12lbs away from being a healthy weight for the first time since 2021.
The weight is coming off so slowly, and I took the summer off because I felt sort of, burnt out, with dieting and making good choices. I needed a break and I needed chips. I put 12lbs on and then went back on Mj and lost it, so it wasn’t the end of the world. I think having a break reinvigorated my efforts. It’s a lot though, we’ve been doing this for almost 18 months and Mj isn’t magic, it does require effort, as we well know.
I am still drinking far too much wine, which is slowing my progress. We are trying to cut down but it’s almost comical that as soon as we talk about cutting down, someone close to us will have a heart attack (MIL) or a mental health crisis (DD) or something will kick off at work or whatever. Obviously if I want to drink, I’ll find any reason to, but it has felt a little ridiculous around here.

On a lighter note, I am enjoying clothes shopping. I’m leaning into colours that seem to suit me and now seem to have a small, but lovely, selection of things to choose from in the morning. Have also had to buy smaller bras and pants.

Apprenante · 03/10/2026 17:16

Re clothes shopping - Vinted is my friend. I've gone from a 20 ish to a 12 ish. I am now wearing better quality clothes generally that are actually cheaper to buy than those I used to wear. I've never been precious about 2nd hand so long as it's in good condition.

SignedUpAgain · 04/10/2026 08:20

Yes it’s expensive having to replace your whole wardrobe, underwater, sports kit, coats I’ve been buying jeans from next and M&S which aren’t too pricy and sell on on Vinted.

and have bought and sold linen trousers on there, as still need some lighter things for the US trip to see my daughter.

I started probs size 20-22 and now around 14-16 I think, depending on the shop and item.

it’s actually quite strange because I can’t even remember the experience of going into any shop and thinking, yes that is nice let’s try it on.

previously been sure that even the biggest size would be too small.

Megsdaughter · 04/10/2026 10:27

Ive gone from a 26 to a 14. Ive constantly bought and then sold on Vinted as I have gone down the sizes, sometimes the same item but smaller if Ive loved it. I couldnt of afforded to dress myself if not. 😁

SignedUpAgain · 04/10/2026 11:26

Wow @Megsdaughter that’s an amazing drop in size.
yes, I’ve searched for same favourite products on Vinted to help speed the cost.

Gingercar · 04/10/2026 16:45

Well! I’ve a story for you..
We live on a small holding and usually have a bonfire. But this year we decided we couldn’t be bothered, and also we want to bring the horses in at night, so as it was such a calm and warm evening we decided to light it. My husband asked if I could go and get him some fish and chips. While I was getting them I decided to have a portion of chips myself. As they were serving me a fire engine rushed past with sirens. Uh oh, I thought. I text my husband that he might have some company on the way. When I got back they were indeed at our house, and had decided to extinguish the bonfire. Took them about an hour, as there aren’t any fire hydrants around here. By which time the bonfire was nearly finished anyway. They were being a bit over cautious, they admitted, but this is a region where we have had the moors on fire all summer, so I guess it’s understandable.
Anyway, the main part of the story is that our chips were stone cold at the end of all that. I did reheat them, but didn’t fancy them - who needs suppression when you’ve got a team of fire fighters to put you off going off track with the diet!

May 2025 Starters Thread 8. Happy One Year Anniversary To Us!!
ElsieJay · 07/10/2026 13:16

Oooh, @ Gingercar - that was certainly worth missing your chips for ! 🤩

Just back from WW and very pleased to report I weigh exactly the same as I was at my last workshop on 5 June - 9st 12lbs.
Very pleased as it’s my birthday on Friday and DS and his GF are treating us to a meal at Mowgli, my favourite place .
Also, on Saturday lunchtime DH and I are meeting up with my BFF from my teenage years - we’ve been in touch sporadically since then, but this is the first face to face meeting in over 50 years.
I think drink may be taken …..

Apprenante · 07/10/2026 16:57

Firefighters v chips .... no contest.

I've found a new way to limit eating. Monday afternoon I had a dental anaesthetic in order to have a temporary cap fitted and couldn't eat or drink without dribbling. So dinner was a yogurt.

Tuesday I was still worried about the cap so ate soft stuff very carefully and in limited quantities.

Today I ate overnight oats for breakfast and some thinly sliced naice ham for lunch. And it's come off.

Back to dentist tomorrow afternoon! The permanent (I hope!) cap will be fitted on the 21st October. Advice please!

Cost of cap just under £700 so it's more expensive as an appetite suppressant than MJ.
😒😒😒😒😒

ElsieJay · 09/10/2026 14:25

No advice, @Apprenante , just sending condolences for your dental difficulties xx

We seem to have bypassed Autumn and gone into wet and windy mode here today - the rain is sort of welcome, though.

Gingercar · 09/10/2026 18:38

Same here re the weather. 🙁 🍂 ☔️

Hope you’re doing better with your knashers @Apprenante!

Still fed up on my plateau again (after a 3lb rise!). Still exercising really well. Bit depressing looking at the scales every morning. Now back to trying to decide if it’s worth the money. Or whether I should ditch my scales and just focus on exercising and eating healthily? Change my focus..

And I saw this today and thought of us-

Apprenante · 10/10/2026 22:09

@Gingercar I can't see anything but I'm intrigued ...

Gingercar · 10/10/2026 22:43

Oh sorry, it mustn’t have attached

May 2025 Starters Thread 8. Happy One Year Anniversary To Us!!
Apprenante · 11/10/2026 10:45

Thank you @Gingercar . 100% agree.

ElsieJay · 17/10/2026 09:48

Hellooooo ……anyone here …???

We’ve gone awfully quiet recently - hope it means we’re all coping well, losing steadily and it’s just a case of same old, same old 🤞.

I’m still microdosing 2.5mg and maintaining, but finding carbs more tempting as Autumn approaches. Ideally would like to drop 3 or 4lbs but not in the right head space at the moment .
Had a lovely reunion with my teenage BFF last weekend - pub lunch for 12 noon, we were still in there chatting at 6.30pm . Fifty plus years just melted away .Luckily the husbands bonded over fishing and classic motorbikes !
Tomorrow I have another meet up (surprise 60th ) with old work colleagues that I’m looking forward to very much .
In not-so-nice news, we’ve made the difficult decision to give up the house in Cyprus , though we’ll still ( I hope) be frequent visitors.
Going over early next month with DS to clear it ( DD and her DH will help too ) and hand back the keys . It’s become a bit too much as DH’s mobility and health decline , but we’ve had a few sleepless nights agonising over what feels like the end of an era for us.
On a more cheerful note, I unearthed a size 12 pair of ancient Wallis trousers that I’m planning to wear to the ‘surprise 60th ‘, just hoping it will be warm enough for the top I plan to wear with it.

Onwards, mostly downwards !
And still joining in the fun.

Kipperandarthur · 17/10/2026 09:55

I tried going up to 12.5mg again this week. My body once again did not like it at all.

Day two after injection the sulphur burps came together with stomach pains and then diarrhea. It's certainly effective but I will be moving down again.

It's weird that my body can cope perfectly fine with 12mg if I click count or just syringe, but weirdly it does not like 12.5 at all.

Next week I'm also going to try a new supplier. Either New Health or Medicine Marketplace both of whom are offering 15mg at under £230. I click count to get to about 12 with this level of pen as it is more cost effective.

I've been with Pharmalous this year but they are now £50 a pen more expensive and as I've got at least another 1.5 stone to go I'm afraid I will be looking at the more cost effective options.

My Vinted addiction needs pulling back as well. It doesn't help then going into normal shops and considering everything soooooo expensive in comparison to buying on Vinited New with labels etc.

Apprenante · 17/10/2026 10:58

A tricky decision @ElsieJay but it sounds as if it was the right one. And, as you say, it won't stop you visiting the family. Enjoy wearing the size 12 trousers! Well done for hanging on to them - you knew their day would come!

I've been quiet because I've nothing interesting to say. My temporary tooth cap continues to be a problem - 3 visits to the dentist so far as it keeps coming off. The proper one is due on Wednesday and hopefully will be perfect and permanent! It's not stopping me eating but as non-chewy food is all I want I'm eating the wrong things and I've put on 3lb in a week. 😒 I'll jab today and see if that helps. My jabbing routine is out the window. I think the last one was 23rd September .

@Kipperandarthur at least you've worked out what's best for you. I'm with you on the Vinted addiction. 2 tops and two skirts this week, all from shops I wouldn't use in real life. But I think that having the smaller clothes makes me less likely to regain weight. It's a good excuse.

Hope everyone is well and feeling successful. XX

SussexLass87 · 17/10/2026 11:37

Hello all

I am really happy to hear about so many success stories - cheering you on from afar. I'm so glad that it's worked for so many of you.

I've been a bit quiet as finding the weight loss very slow and challenging - I'm happy for other's success, it hasn't been great for the mental health at times when I've still got a long way to go and the scales / clothes sizes aren't going down so I stepped away from posting on here.

Got my head down, trying to lose the weight but it isn't happening really the last few months.

Really disheartening, and I'm really tired of trying with little results. Throw in demanding jobs, increasing costs of food / MJ and two kids with SEN (and an education system where any support is a constant battle) and it's, well, it's a lot.

I hope you all have lovely weekends ahead x
