Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we spring into spring not obsessing over Easter Eggs for the second year 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W68 D6 and on w12 of 2.5mg maintenance dose.

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far at lowest weight was 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0) maintenance has seen 4 of those pounds go back on.

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style/vinted chat too 🤗

Yesterday I hit 4st loss from my highest, another 5lbs to go until I have lost 4stone from my MJ start weight. I am just 1 stone away from hitting 'normal' bmi, so I feel like the end is in sight, with ideally another 7lb below that for a bit of leeway. I have been a slow but consistent loser, 0.6-0.7lb a week so while I do plan to be off MJ before I hit the 2 year mark, I need to keep the momentum going.

My body image is all over the place. I was confronted with a full length mirror in the ladies last night and didn't recognise myself. I see masses of scope for more fat loss, wibbly bits all over but skin isn't too saggy. It is so much easier to be more active, I do park run once a week and lots more gardening. So that's good,I need to do more though. I am looking forward to enjoying the summer so much lighter too.

Back again! I was looking advice and insight before on clothes shopping and you were all so helpful I actually went through the answers and made notes! So thank you! It was interesting I think that others also find it challenging to see the new size you as a real thing. And the sense of trying to get used to some kind of new identity in how you present yourself to the world and how other people see you. For me it’s kind of daunting but also trying to have fun! I agree Vinted is the way forward. I am now buying at least one thing a day. I blame you all. I am re- buying smaller versions of what I had - excellent advice - and branching out a bit to brands that in the past were for other people. I’ve been browsing websites. I looked up all those you mentioned @Mounjaropen and how I long to have a life I could live in Roksanda! Beautiful. I’ve also ordered new underpinnings. As a woman of ample boobage you are all right, that needs to be properly fitted. I’ll be looking for advice on Botox and all sorts next!

Could anyone offer advice on shapewear or thermals to wear under a dress for a wedding? It is a V-necked dress which is quite flowy. Is shapewear warm as well as shapey? Is it very uncomfortable? I have the tummy issue so normally just wear TU pants with a high waist but wondering if I should splash out a bit. Or if I could find a thermal top that would work.

Morning!

Definitely recommend Skims. They are expensive but far less uncomfortable than any shapewear I’ve used previously- they don’t dig in at all and don’t roll down. I’ve got the shirts that go from your upper mid thigh to under your bra line. They are quite tummy warming too 😂 Have a look on line to see your options. They stock them in Selfridges if you are in London and want assistance or a try on before purchase. And Harrods I think?

What are your main concerns about the dress?

Re:Botox/Tweakments - do your research carefully. Don’t let anyone hear your face who doesn’t have a level 7 as an aesthetics practitioner or has Dr in their title. You might not actually need Botox though.

Yes - ordered on Thursday and awaiting usual approval, but they wanted a video verification call. Wasn’t the long wait like previously and could book a consultation this morning. Hilariously the chap was able to determine I was 5’2’’ from his request for me to stand by a door frame!! I suspect he’d seen my uploaded NHS screenshot of my height 🙄.

Just back from extended holiday in Australia- I can live with a 2.5lb gain considering the delicious Margaret River red consumed. I found a shop called Kitten D’Amour which sells beautiful vintage 1950s style clothes. I bought a gorgeous dress which is a very fitted size 12. The designer only makes a maximum of 300 pieces - not that I’m likely to bump into anyone wearing the same with a 12,000 mile gap!! Will be saving it for our 40th wedding anniversary in the summer. So lovely to read everyone’s positive stories and the support when things are more tricky. Can’t believe we’re nearly 18 months in. We’re lucky to have found this group thanks to @Mounjaropen 😊

Holiday sounds wonderful! And the dress delightful 🥰 Congratulations on reaching such a lovely milestone in life. What do you have planned for your 40th anniversary?

@Mounjaropen Oh I'd love to know your Vinted username, your wardrobe sounds fab!

Yes, same, I do think it does more than it says. I haven't had any MJ for about a month, and I just don't feel quite like myself some days. For example, I eat even when I'm not hungry (e.g. breakfast first thing), and beyond the point of having had enough food. I just don't get the 'I'm full now' feeling the way I do when on MJ, I can just keep going with a pack of biscuits.

But equally, I can be a little irritable, or struggle to go to sleep. Don't get me wrong, I am generally very calm and with a well-regulated nervous system, but during this year on MJ, my mental health was completely untouchable. I'd also easily put my screens away at 9pm and read a book, be so zen, whereas now I can easily get sucked into something and be up til 2am.

What would we call it? General hormonal and mood regulating effect?

I genuinely did not eat that badly or vast amounts when I was big. Just way more UPFs like M&S ready meals, and frequent pastries/sweets, less fresh food. Also, my mental health was very hormonally driven during that era, around my period I could easily spend the whole day close to tears and snappy, catastrophising. That person's totally gone now, and I feel that not taking action earlier on that actually cost me a lot.

Like you, I think I'll keep taking it for life in some form. It feels like my secret weapon, I feel undeniable on it and extremely high performance. But does it have any long-term side effects if doing so, such as pancreas/gallbladder related risks?

Onto more fun stuff, any new finds from Bond St? Like everyone, I can't get enogh of the new Dior! The detail... Ah...

Yep I feel much more regulated this last week (although I did have my first taste of mini eggs for the season!) I was eating ultra carefully but still gaining so I know it wasn’t either nutrition or lack of exercise that was the issue. Long term diabetic patients are on this medication so I’m hopeful that a low dose is safe for the long term.

I've treated myself to new pyjamas that are pretty in a size 8. I thought that I'd settle at 12 but I went into maintenance at size 10/12 and am now 8/10. I need to work out how much I need to eat to maintain without relaxing too much. Maintenance feels like a different muscle to loss

Nothing like fancy/pretty pyjamas is there? DH gave me a set of fancy Victoria secrets ones recently which I love to swan about in at home channelling my inner Krystal Carrington 😂

Just checking in, I’m now at maintenance after losing 2.5 stone. I’m now a size 10 and maintaining at 9.10. I could have lost more (I’d like to lose a little more off my waist) but I noticed a lot of weight loss in my face and I didn’t want it to age me so I’m maintaining for now and might pick it up again in the summer to lose a little more- I’m undecided.

Regarding clothes, I’ve had a huge wardrobe clear out. Sold lots on Vinted and got a big pile that still needs to go on there. Used the balance to buy some bits on there. It still blows my mind when I order a size 10/small and it fits. I’ve never consistently been this size ever. I’ve also bought my favourite pair of jeans just in the smaller size etc. I don’t think my style has changed per se, I’m just so much more comfortable now. I was forever feeling like my stomach was protruding, did my arms looks too big etc and now I just feel very comfortable in my own skin.

Maintaining (without mounjaro) has gone fine so far. The only changes I’ve made are to add breakfast back in. I am more hungry but I find it easier to find balance and eat healthy after a less healthy day etc. I have got 2 jabs in the fridge though just in case and to perhaps use after a holiday etc if I gain. I have gone to the gym throughout and continue to do about 4 classes per week and hoping to tone up more as I continue.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/03/2026 14:03

Short term maintenance wobble - ticked up this week by 2lbs (on top of the 4lbs I put on over Dec on 2.5mg). I do have my period, I have been drinking more alcohol and work is frantic so I’ve been moving less. That said, I really, really haven’t been going crazy on the food front. Best MJ weight: 9 st 3. Maintenance weight range: 9 st 4-8. Current weight: 9 st 10.

It’s DD’s birthday today so DH has made chocolate cake. I am going to eat some, but then I’m going to really try for lighter eating with the spring weather. Have stocked up on salady dinner ideas for this week to replace the winter stodge, and I’m going to try to drink water a lot more, alcohol a lot less, and get up from my laptop more frequently. Work will calm down next month - Feb and March are always busy. If all else fails I can have a sneaky jab from DH’s pen, but I don’t want to rush straight to that without seeing if it’s just a period-related blip.

Dreamqueen · 10/03/2026 11:16

I’m stuck in India thanks to Trump. Rebooked for the 20 March but not holding out much hope of that flight actually going ahead. I’ve done a half maintenance dose of 3.5 on Sunday I’ve got one 3.5 dose left. The pharmacy here sell ozempic. Has anyone tried ozempic? Or should I go cold turkey? Slightly panicking about my maintenance does more than being stranded here.

Gettingbysomehow · 10/03/2026 11:24

It is hellishly uncomfortable. Last time I wore spanx my ankles swelled up with the pressure. I havent worn them since.

jay55 · 10/03/2026 12:47

@Dreamqueenhope you can get a flight soon. MJ stays in the system a good while, you won’t be totally cold turkey.
A colleague came back from a trip via India and was stuck for an extra week, they got back Friday night.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 10/03/2026 16:07

Fingers crossed @Dreamqueen - I think MJ hangs around in your system for a while. The advice for those switching to Wegovy was to have a two week break after stopping MJ.

I have sold another item for £10 on Vinted. I reckon I have made about £250 since September, some things I just accepted random offers for in the early days now I am quite happy to sit and wait.

Put an order in with Pharmulous today as they are cheaper than Oushk even with Oushk points and discount. Need to stay on their books. I have dropped back to 7.5mg and that feels okay but I will see how it goes over the week. There is some anecdotal stuff that stopping can lead to some more weight loss

And I have lost another half a pound !

SW. 15 stone 12.5 pounds / 222.5lbs /100.7kg
CW 9 stone 10lbs / 136lbs / 61.68kg
Loss to date 6 stone 2lbs / 86lbs / 39kg
BMI was 41.4 now 25.2

2lbs to go to reach a BMI of 24.9. Once I get to 9 stone 8lbs I want a few more lbs off in order to have some leeway so future end target will probably be 9 stone 3 or 4 lb.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 11/03/2026 09:09

Hira from Oushk is doing a live tonight at 7pm which is going to cover stockpiles and price changes apparently

I went. The messages were that you need to order every 6 weeks or give evidence that you had enough supply to cover any gap. They're looking at trying to reduce the price jump between 5 and 7.5. Pills are coming and hopefully will allow more flexibility in maintenance. I think that's the most useful bits!

I definitely wouldn’t mix meds. Don’t panic, the shotsy app will let you know how much MJ you’ve got in your system. Just make sure you are drinking enough water, move as much as you can and prioritise protein if you can. Hope you are having a wonderful time despite the added complication of your travel plans.

I’ve made a couple of recipes from em the nutritionist on instagram this week which have given me ideas for increasing protein and fibre. Very tasty. Edamame hummus is a revelation!

Oooh Ive also been eyeing on On Cloud trainers @oceangrey so do report back!

Happy Friday skinny bitches! Still no new weight loss from me but DH swears my boobs have shrunk even more and I think he's right, so I'm sure the scales will catch up eventually.

After 4 weeks back on 7.5mg I've decided this dose does not agree with me at all. I have low level nausea most days and have had 2 bouts of horrific vomiting. I had this when I originally moved up to 7.5mg but didnt expect it again when titrating down! So I think I'll move down to 6mg at the weekend and see if that helps.

Definitely need to get back to selling stuff on Vinted this weekend - I've vowed no more new clothes until I've cleared out the old but have failed already! Had to order 2 new pairs of size 10 jeans as the 12s were ridiculously big, but thay counts as essential right? So now I need to sell all the 12s 🙈 Can't decide if I should keep an emergency pair just in case, but I think I remember @Mounjaropen saying thay just tempts fate/sets you up for failure? No they need to go. I am loving being this size and I dont care if the Internet now thinks we're all size obsessed again. I'm all for body positivity but unless you've experienced the extreme discomfort of living in an obese body, you can sit down and be quiet.
