Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we spring into spring not obsessing over Easter Eggs for the second year 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W68 D6 and on w12 of 2.5mg maintenance dose.

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far at lowest weight was 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0) maintenance has seen 4 of those pounds go back on.

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style/vinted chat too 🤗

Hi ..just saw this thread ,while trying to find a different one
I was on this one when it started in Nov 24
Can't remember my user name then though
I didn't last long with you all , because I had such a lot to loose ,and I joined the thread for people who had 10 stone or more to loose.
But anyway, just came back to say hi ,and since I started I've lost over 12 stone
But unfortunately still have more to go ..
But the end is in sight
So hi ..and hope you didn't mind me popping in x

Welcome back! We’re all still here providing support for those of us who still have a little way to go, and also as accountability for those of us attempting maintenance 🥰

Re: Caroline Girvan - do not make the mistake I made a few months ago and throw yourself into a 70 minute full body workout, assuming you will be fine. She is brutal! I clearly remember merrily hoisting weights around, thinking 'god, I'm just naturally really GOOD at this?!' - oh, the hubris. I literally couldn't move for days.

This time round, I've gone for her Iron series on YouTube. Much more carefully structured 6 week plan and only 30 minute sessions (5 per week), focusing on different muscle groups each time. I have some soreness after most sessions but nothing insurmountable and its more that good, satisfying soreness of you know what I mean.

I will say, it makes you feel fucking phenomenal, lifting weights, once you hit a certain point in the 30 minutes. A complete high.

Love this! I’d also add, concentrate on form and don’t try and lift anything too heavy when starting off. As with everything consistency is key.

Hi all
I'm still on 12.5mg and oscillating around 10st 3lb as I have been for most of this year. Which is BMI 25.1 or something so basically fine but would now like to lose a bit more. However, I've not been feeling much effect from the drug. I guess enough to keep me in maintenance but not to lose.

I experimented last week with injecting half and then another half later in the week, which was fine. Then this week I did the whole lot at once and have felt more suppression than I have for a while. I guess I need to experiment!

What are your protein macros and water intake looking like? Quite often we are thirsty rather than hungry… Or try adding a protein shake into the mix? There are quite a few articles now about food which nutritionally mimics the effect of GLP is so have a look at those and see if you can incorporate them into your diet maybe?

Haven't been on here for a while because life has been stressful and hectic. DH hasn't been well and got prescribed morphine patches. OMG the first 2 weeks he was fine but the descended into a total mess who couldn't string a sentece together. he's off them now but its been a frightening month. Off to the doctor later for the umpteenth time to try to find suitable medication for him. Plus he wanted a birthday party so had 20 people over in the garden yesterday. Don't you love how men always say "i don't want a fuss but I'd really like a little get together. "

Going to catch up on the posts. Well done to everyone losing or maintaining. i'm finding maintenace more stressful than the actual early days of losing.
I'm maintaining on 7.5 which I'm getting from Bolt at the moment. I still need to cancel the £15 a month I'm giving to Oushk as I can't see myself going back to them.

In the interest of this thread, I have tried the following:

Prai neck cream – would recommend
Micro needling at home – going to up my consistency on this over the coming weeks.
This works Neck and décolletage serum - it’s only been a week so far, will report back in 6 to 8 weeks time
HIFU - had at least five sessions before my wedding this time last year, made bugger all difference on any part of my body treated so save your money
Nuface microcurrent device – as with any of the electrical stimulus or frequency treatments, you can’t actually use them on the part of the neck that might be of concern I.E.the front of the throat due to the location of the thyroid gland. Again, I need to be more consistent with this over the next six weeks
Sarah Chapman facial roller– as with the micro needling and microcurrent device, I need to be more consistent with this over the next six weeks in order to ascertain if there is any difference or not.

Other non-neck related treatments I have tried include the massively expensive Murad retinal body cream (£89) – absolutely no effect.

As I’ve documented on here for the past one and three-quarter years, I have been mindful of my protein intake, water intake and have been strength training since the off, but I do think in the early days of MJ I didn’t have enough intake of protein to match the pace of my weight loss. If I had my time again, I would definitely concentrate on this. I also think genetics has a place in all of this as my mother had a terrible Turkey Neck and I’ve never really had a defined jawline underneath my chin where it meets the neck.

And I have done none of that ..but I wish I had
Even protein and water ..leave a lot to be desired
I'm trying now ,but possibly to little to late

I don't track food and have never had a protein shake, unless huel counts? I could give the shakes a go.
Don't really want to track food again, it gets kind of all consuming and is a bit of a pain if you tend to cook (or be cooked for) rather than using ready meal type food which has everything printed on it.
I used to put my own recipes into my fitness pal, but the problem is that I'm not usually making a particular recipe, I tend to improvise based on what's in the fridge so it's different every time and annoying to track.
If I am desperate to lose more weight then yeah I'd need to start recording and counting calories again.
But I don't think it's a mystery, I think it's a few too many croissants and cherry magnums.

Dreamqueen · 03/08/2026 20:39

Forgot to say earlier, thank you to whoever recommended the snail serum and cream. Just got round to using it. The texture is lovely. Waiting to see if it improves my skin.

A cherry magnum you say? 😍😋

Huel is a protein shake but you can make your own at home - just be careful to buy good quality protein powder to avoid getting too high a dose of heavy metals which can be a feature of the cheaper ones. I flavour mine with carob, a tbsp of maple syrup and peanut butter powder (like a lovely snickers bar) and use an almond milk. DH likes a banana chucked in his.

I agree logging food is a PITA but I go back to it if I gain weight to retain accountability. Bottom line is that a diet which is higher in protein rather than carbs will reduce insulin spikes and this should translate on the scales over time as you’ll feel fuller for longer so will be less likely to reach for the croissants. Or magnums.

keep going!

Oh, I hear you on food tracking. I also find it all-consuming and can only do it for relatively short periods, or at least not for ALL meals. It’s the added effort of home/interesting cooking that makes it labour-intensive, I agree. If only my idea of a sustainable diet was steamed fish and a pile of unadorned green veg day-in, day-out! 😁

I do find measuring out a “good” breakfast and set of make-ahead (meal prep) lunches far more sustainable, though. Then I can just improvise dinner, but the cumulative effect is still keeping my food ans nutrition on generally the right track. I find that lunch can be quite make-or-break. If I don’t plan ahead and eat enough of the right stuff (veg and protein-heavy, portion controlled) it’s too easy to under eat and then need to snack on something yummy but nutritionally irredeemable (I like the dark choc magnums, myself…) by late afternoon.

I’m definitely noticing some facial sagging now (purely age related) - I had a passport renewal photo done and MY GOD that expressionless mug shot stare really brings out middle age reality. Genuinely mulling over what/how much to do. Hmm.

Hello! I’d take your one patch over my huge deflated balloon tummy 😂

My next door neighbour went on the pills.she Put on 7lbs over two weeks as you start on the lowest dose. She’s going to move up doses now but you have to take them first thing and have nothing to drink for at least 30mins after taking them. That alone for me probably wouldn’t work. I like a coffee within 5 mins of waking 😂

Thanks for this. I am the same re:coffee in the morning. I keep reading how much easier and more convenient the pills are meant to be, and it’s precisely this sort of info that helps me realise I actually quite like my weekly injection!

Fashion chat interval klaxon!

I have been messing around with trends a bit and have concluded that the following things just don’t work on me:

Half-tucking a shirt. Yes, I know the French tuck is passé so literally leaving one side of an unbuttoned shirt hanging out is the cool new version, but it makes me feel like I’ve just stumbled out of the loo without checking my outfit reassembly on the way out.

Sheer clothing over underwear. I actually have quite the banging figure right now (thanks jabs, weight lifting and foobs), but I just can’t bear anyone seeing my bra, let alone my pants. Add in my 53-year-old-face and going out with a pretty bra on display might honestly make me cringe my way out of existence. It’s camisoles and slips for me all the way.

Any sort of flip-flop inspired shoe as workwear. I am of a generation that was happy to uncover arms at work via a nice shift dress or sleeveless blouse, but NEVER get toes out and I will never shake the taboo.

Anyone else run into any “hard no” items in their fashion experiments?

It’s co-ords for me, I either look like I’m wearing pyjamas or hospital scrubs. Also drawstring trousers, no matter how much weight I lose they always seem to sit at the furthermost point of my belly making me look massive. And trainers with anything that isn’t designed to be worn in the gym. If I wear trainers with jeans, I just feel like a football hooligan. 😂

As the temperature has become cooler, I’ve dug out my weighted vest for the dog walk. It’s 10 kg. Never mind the fact that I look like a security officer in Pound land, I can’t get over the fact that I’ve lost almost 3 of these! And trust me, one is enough. I can’t believe I put my heart and body through the extra strain all these years…

Also a PSA to remind all of you skinny Minnie’s to dig out the giant swimming costumes and get them on Vinted. I loaded up four sets of Tankinis yesterday. And 2 frankly enormous swimming costumes the resultant pictures of which still form nightmares for me… I sold 4 lots within an hour. There’s only a short window of opportunity before the summer comes to a close and people won’t want them… if you’ve got large cup sized stuff, hold out for the price as people really want them. I added at least a fiver onto the suggested Vinted premium price and still had loads of takers.

Vinted & WLI existing at the same time really is kismet. I've been buying a lot of size 14s on there recently that people have been selling as they lose and I'm sure some of my larger dresses sold to people a bit further back on their own journeys.
I used it to replace a couple of my old Tu dresses in smaller sizes while I'm getting used to what suits me at my smaller, but wobblier than last time it was this size, frame.

Hello
I moved this week and understandably forgot to jab, had no appetite but some food noise. It’s so weird after feeling 10mg wasn’t enough a week ago to being fine to stretch a dose a week later. Blame hormones.

Once cleaning of old place sorted my stressful events will be over and I can live life. I’m not allowing any more deaths/disease/disasters for the rest of the year, preferably 3.

Wedding was lovely, bride gorgeous, weather held off for ceremony.

Had a huge healthy shop delivered yesterday and will be back to cooking as soon as I unpack all I need.

loving the fashion talk. I’ve no patience for vinted but donated about 8 sacks of clothes the last two weeks.

I find the best / most successful co-ords are the sleeveless ones (less pj, more chic) but I have terrible upper arms so haven’t braved them. There is a nice set which has sleeves at Scamp & Dude (a brand I appear to be addicted to!) which looks fab when styled on their website, but I just know that when I put it on I will look like I’ve wandered straight out of bed confused. It also has a gold motif which I can’t help but think looks like a golden snitch. It’s also quite expensive for what it is. So, unusually for me, I’ve managed to resist (so far…).

I have however had some brilliant finds lately on Vinted (a lot of lovely new with tags items greatly reduced including current styles from Boden and S&D much to my joy!).

Took two huge blue Ikea bags full of donations to the local charity shop and sent off two big bags of ladies clothes to Little Loop yesterday. I also have a pile of things to list on Vinted. For those who can’t be faffed with Vinted it might be worth looking at The Little Loop (or LLoop as they now seem to be rebranded to). I have experience of them from sending off kids clothes which they give you credit for, and they’ve branched out into ladies fashions now (very early days, building up their stock levels). They do have a list of brands they accept so you need to cross reference first but it’s an idea for those wanting to get a bit of money back without the same levels of faff. They also do clothing subscription stuff but I’ve not tried any of that.

Happy Friday everyone!

Update from me:

Weight: currently hovering around 135lbs – I’ve been really concentrating on clean eating And have really concentrated on strength training this past week, so I’m hoping this is muscle gain.… 🤞

Exercise: I’ve got back to Tennis this week, and because I’m off on my belated honeymoon next Thursday, I’ve upped my pvolve sessions to 7x this weekto account for the fact that I really won’t be doing any next Thursday or Friday as hopefully will be enjoying the fruits of the champagne region 😂 I like to keep my average at 5X per week. I have elevated my morning dog walk by wearing my 10 kg weighted vest, absolute killer… I’ve also carried out my weekly Lagree class and my 5X uphill treadmill walks. 💪

nutrition: DH has been away all week so it’s been much easier to clean i eat and avoid wine… it’s our anniversary tomorrow so we’re off for a fancy long lunch in London at a place. It’s very tricky to get a table so I do feel very grateful. I’m making tonight a brined pork chop dish that I saw on Saturday kitchen last weekend, which has Caribbean flavour influence recipe attached in case anyone fancies having a go at it. It looks to be quite flavoursome, high protein and healthy carb content. I’ll probably add a couple of char grilled corn on the cobs to serve. I’ve also made Nigella’s cappuccino Pavlova as I had some egg whites left over from a custard I made last weekend.

Style & Beauty: I have been really religious these past two weeks in my red light therapy sessions which I’m carrying out Monday to Friday. Also on these days, I have been micro needling and using my.nuface device with collagen conducting gel. I’ll report back if there’s any difference in six weeks time… Fashion wise, I bought a lovely lemon drop waist sleeveless mid length dress with a puffball hem from a local boutiquefor lunch tomorrow. Was hoping for some new shoes, but I couldn’t justify the expense of another pair of sandals as we approached the autumn months, so will choose something from my existing wardrobe.

For those interested in the Wegovy pills, there was an interesting article yesterday in The DM from a journo who had been on them for the past month or so… You can access it if you run it through one of the free payroll removers. Bottom line. It does seem like quite a lot of faff And, the likelihood of side-effects does seem quite high. She actually commented that she had gone from feeling lively and light on MJ to lethargic on the pills. I also noticed the rise of scaremongering article articles about MJ and GLP’s use in general recently…🙄 bottom line again seems to be based onthose who are taking them inconsistently or have not changed significantly their lifestyle in order to use them safely and reap the benefits.

Anyway, hope everyone has something lovely planned for the weekend and has something equally lovely in their Glass 🥂

7 and a half pound klaxon 🥳 The end does feel in sight now, which it definitely didn't 7.5 stone ago.

@Freddiefisher I've got 12 pounds to go until my target but am tempted to round it to a neat 8.5 stone in total at 11 stone 2 pounds. I've had you're so tiny now and you must be a size 12 now - not tiny and my hips are snug in a 14! But for anyone who hasn't seen me for a while I get that it's a big visual change.
