Baggy leggings though! Who knew that was a thing?!

When my size 14 leggings became baggy, I was puzzled.

In the past I'd basically lived in leggings. They were always snug.

("in the past" = "when I was fat")

I never experienced baggy leggings until I lost nearly 10st.

I can't wear them now. Well, I could, if I bought some smaller ones.
🤣

Lol, I didn't ever wear leggings, they went through at the thighs too quick 😫 lived in skinny jeans and leggings tho all gone now.

Sorry, wrong thread! 🤣

Did anyone listen to this on Radio 4 this morning? I haven't listened but will do at some point (hoping this link works but if not- it's an episode of The Life Scientific with a professor who was involved in work around GLP-1s)

I didn’t, let us know if it’s worth a listen!

@Fffreeeeezing I had the protein yogurt this morning and it was nice! (The Tesco one) doesn’t have the horrible thick claggy texture of other protein yogurts.

Ah that's good that you liked it- more protein than Fage as well (and a lot cheaper!)

We can spend the savings on new clothes 🤣

PearlsTeapot · 17/03/2026 14:19

Oh don’t, I can’t get off vinted at the moment!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 17/03/2026 14:33

I'm having a really odd day - way more suppression than I've had for a long time. I couldn't finish my protein yogurt for breakfast, and I had to cut down my lunch to avoid either overeating or wasting food. I'm not feeling 100% this week so that may be linked, but it's like I'm back at the beginning! I'd been thinking about increasing my dose at some point but definitely not now!

PearlsTeapot · 17/03/2026 19:28

@RenegadeKeeblerElf how weird and wonderful! I’m currently enjoying suppression this week and last after going up to 4.75. It feels good and a lot easier to stop eating.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 17/03/2026 21:17

DS1 was here for five days last week, culminating in Mother's Day.
We went out to eat quite a lot and I cooked lots of stuff at home, too.

Unsurprisingly, I've gained 2lb this week.
🤣

MummyInTheNecropolis · 17/03/2026 23:32

I’ve dropped down to 5mg now and my suppression has been much higher this week than it was on 7.5mg 🤔

Not sure how or why that’s possible but I’ve definitely eaten less and felt full more quickly. I think I’ll be moving down to 2.5mg if this continues as I don’t really want to lose anymore weight.

800-1000 is very low, are you sure you can get enough nutrition for that? I know some people, particularly close to target, have to go that low due to their metabolism etc, but you do need to be careful to get a good balance of nutrients, particularly protein to avoid muscle wastage.

I wouldn't know how to check for nutrition to be honest but it's a bit late now, three years in. I was just surprised how far I have deviated from my goal, no wonder I'm not losing. But at those numbers I'm still gaining. It's incredibly difficult for me to lose weight now, age, menopause being out of work and mostly sedentary. I have followed Fast 800 for years, just gone off track recently, I need to reign in the treAts and replace with vegetables.

That sounds tough. Definitely sounds like a bit of back to basics is the right way to go - I don't know about you but the good weather is always helpful for me in terms of being able to eat healthily - lots of salads rather than hearty stews and pies!

UsernameShmusername2024 · 18/03/2026 09:22

NSV alert! I've taken the chain extenders off a few of my necklaces as they're now the right length without- have obviously lost weight from my neck!

TragicMuse · 18/03/2026 09:30

That’s a fab NSV @UsernameShmusername2024 I have done the same!

user593 · 18/03/2026 09:30

@UsernameShmusername2024 Well done!

I still feel poorly but now think it may be a bug as my DP and one of my DC have something similar. On the plus side, I hit exactly 29kg lost today. I should reach 5st when we’re away if I don’t go bonkers on holiday.

I need to have another session of going through all my clothes. Quite a lot of my jeans/ joggers are now very baggy/ loose and don’t look great. I’ve already purchased a size down in most of them thankfully when M&S had 20% off. I also think it might be time to say goodbye to my now comically large t-shirts. Going through it all might be something to do when I’m packing for holiday. We have another holiday planned in July and it’s strange to think the clothes I take with me this time are very unlikely to fit me by then.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 18/03/2026 10:35

@user593 I'm going through clothes at an alarming rate now which is both great but also annoying! I've been trying really hard to limit what I'm buying, even on Vinted, and have been going through all the stuff under the bed from when I've been various sizes in the past but I think I'm probably entering being the smallest I've been my whole adult life so will have to do a complete wardrobe overhaul soon I think. I bought a pair of size 16 jeans while they were in the Tu sale thinking they'd be too small for a while but would hopefully be ok in a few months and actually they're already not far off fitting. It is a great problem to have though!

user593 · 18/03/2026 10:42

@UsernameShmusername2024 It is a great problem to have! I’m wondering if really I should have skipped a size on the trousers. I think I need to have a trying on session. Perhaps M&S will let me exchange them for a size down past the return date. At the moment I basically have one pair of jeans and one pair of joggers and I’m washing them overnight to reduce the amount of clothes I need!

Hmm it's more th3 fact I don't eat and then in my eating window I eat crisps and chocolate so yep back to basics

PearlsTeapot · 18/03/2026 11:31

I’ve got the Vinted bug thanks to you lot now! Since I finally sorted out my wardrobe last month. I still can’t believe size 18s fit me, they look so small compared to my oversized 24s!

TragicMuse · 18/03/2026 11:45

I’ve just bought some waist cinching clips to keep my trousers from falling down!

They're working and will extend the wear for a while longer.

Soni can recommend those!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 18/03/2026 12:39

I've lost 2.2 kg this week according to the healthcentre scales. Home ones say I've put on half a kilo, so they can permanently bugger off.

SW: 135 kg
MJSW: 128.7 kg
CW: 117.9 kg
Total loss: 17.1 kg

I do believe though that my real MJ starting weight was much higher. I got down to 127 kg last year through diet alone. Then I started binge eating when I got my cancer diagnosis, but according to my home scales I only gained 2 kg. My body said otherwise. My knees and back were more painful than ever, worse than when I was 135 kg. And I couldn't understand why.

Now I know that if I stick to my diet I lose around 2 kg a week. 10 weeks on MJ would mean my starting weight was actually around 138 kg. Possibly more seeing as I was eating a lot less than I am now for the first 6 weeks.

Could you share a link? My hips are a size bigger than m waist so everything gapes, might be a solution
