February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

CrossFit, before I noticed you’d found it I nearly reminded you that you’d told the internet last week that it was with your period stuff and asked you if you’d moved it since then 😀. I’m honestly not a weird stalkerish person, I was just invested at the time in the discussion about where to hide it!

Well, after posting yesterday that dose two was going really well, I had a horrific night. Woke up at 3am with cramps and had an hour in the loo with terrible squits. I still feel quite nauseous and delicate. I’m hoping that’s not going to happen a lot and it’s made me a bit nervous. It would have been nasty had I not only been about 4 meters from the bathroom when it struck. And now feeling bad that DH and DS are being nice to me this morning about my dicky tummy.

Haha nice to hear you've got my back - for future reference, it is now all in the bathroom drawer with my period stuff, and I've moved the other stuff in there with it. I think I thought I'd moved it all under the stool because the bathroom gets quite warm with the towel rail in there, but clearly I hadn't!

Sorry to hear about the squits, but glad for the heads up - I think I might put on my period pants to be safe and keep spare knickers with me today and tomorrow when it's meant to hit "peak" absorption.

@MissionToSize10 What's the 5th dose? Is this the "golden dose" I've heard of? Please explain!

Hello checking in here - haven't started yet but have MJ on order hopefully to arrive this week. I lost 2.5 atone 4 years ago in 5 months on slimming world but in the last 12 months due to stress I have put it all back on plus an extra half stone for good luck.. Need the help this time, looking forward to getting started and intrigued by the other benefits I am reading about. I feel focused and ready to go.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 08/02/2026 10:28

Oh no red apple pie! That sounds really unpleasant. I need to do my 2nd dose this morning too. Nervous!

Thank god you found your pen crossfitgirl! Maybe this is a sign to share with your husband?

Welcome. I’ve also lost and gained a fair bit over my life, but have always felt that I’m battling my physiology to do so. I literally couldn’t face that route again.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 08/02/2026 11:16

Hi all ... just checking in and saying hello. I am restarting after doing a couple of months on Mounjaro between September and November last year - when I lost a little over a stone. I have ulcerative colitis and had to stop for a colonoscopy, which was then cancelled and has only just taken place. Unfortunately I regained about 4/5lbs in the interim ... mostly due to Christmas and my birthday - but I restarted again on Friday.

I was with Asda but their prices seem to have really shot up, especially at the higher doses. I have enough for a couple of months so will see how it goes. Indigestion seems to be the worst symptom for me. Especially at night. I have an annual health check at work in early March so hoping to lose at least half a stone by then.

Good luck to everyone. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

Thank you for the welcome. Totally agree. I am looking forward to try a different path this time. I have found my 50s hard so far and I am tired of struggling, happy to get something that can hopefully support me. Good luck to us all.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 08/02/2026 16:51

Welcome to everyone. Like you all, I have started a ' weight loss journey' so many bloody times and have felt like I've failed many many times. I hope this is different for us all.

I've done my second jab today. Less nerve wracking than last week!
I've also just been and done an induction session at the gym! Had a really nice trainer talk me through everything so I'm really hoping to keep going with it.
I'm feeling positive. Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Crossfitgirl · 08/02/2026 22:50

Welcome newcomers, and well done on the gym @Perserverancepayoffplease did you enjoy it?

Pleased to report that 24hrs after jab no.2 I feel absolutely fine, will cross my fingers tomorrow is the same when absorption apparently peaks. Definitely noticed a bit of an increase in appetite suppression again this afternoon/ evening, couldn't eat much for tea and I appear to be experiencing less side effects than the first jab. I shall report back again tomorrow!

Hello everyone - I did my first mounjaro jab on Friday, not noticed any effects on appetite yet but I guess it's very early days. Not had any side effects either so am wondering if I did it right! Maybe a bit constipated if anything. I am going away for a few days this week so hopefully everything will be ok.Could've done with a little appetitie supression as I find it really difficult to eat well when I'm travelling. Oh well. WIll be doing a lot of walking so that's a bonus.

starmoonsun · 08/02/2026 23:02

So no side effects from the second jab on Friday and similar appetite suppression to last week, not much desire to eat and definitely smaller portions.
Struggling to know what to eat as not hungry enough to think I want a meal or bothered to make one but then probably not eating the right balance. Not eating snacks but probably far to carb heavy and not enough protein and fruit/veg
Have booked a group nutrition meeting via the Voy app for Wednesday.
Would anyone like to share what they've been eating for ideas please ?
Thanks, hoping for a loss of some kind this week 🤞

MissionToSize10 · 09/02/2026 04:45

Yes the golden dose. So easy to extract. Dont waste it. You need additional needles - https://amzn.eu/d/0dIwqVjL

watch videos on youtube how to. Silly to waste additional dose x

Have you tried using the Joy AI coach for meal ideas? I got most of mine from her.
I've also been using the meal analysis tool and it's really helped me add nutritional balance to my meals so it's coming to me a bit more easily.
I've been eating lots of my usual foods, but adding in more salad or veg, reducing carb portions, or adding in things for extra protein/ fibre.
So for example sometimes we get that packet spinach and ricotta tortellini with a sauce from the ready meals section. Well, I had that but about half my usual portion, filled the rest of my plate with salad, and tore up a slice of ham into it for extra protein.
My usual morning smoothie is banana, milk, oats, honey, bit of nut butter. Joy told me to use almond milk (lower cals), add in flaxseed for fibre and greek yogurt for protein. And I put a date in instead of honey to sweeten.
This is helping me much more than trying to change all my normal food habits too much!

I’ve decided this may be like childbirth. Yesterday I was all ‘just let me get through this and I will never do it again’ and today I’m skipping around like I’ve seen a miracle.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 09/02/2026 18:45

@RedApplePie so glad you're feeling better!

I'm back to feeling really bloated again
No ideaxwhat to have for dinner because I'm not hungry! But I've only had about 300 calories today so need to eat something!

DanaScullysLegoHair · 09/02/2026 18:55

Hi all,

How are my fellow WG 0.25ers doing? I took my second dose on Friday and all well for the most part but I've felt REALLY hungry today. I've noticed slight heartburn too. I was definitely less hungry last week.

Struggling to drink as much water this past 2 days. I did read it makes you feel less thirsty so need to be mindful of that.

I’m so glad you’ve mentioned this because I took my 2nd dose of MJ on Friday too and have been ravenous for the last few days to the point where I’ve questioned if I’ve given myself the right dose. I woke up in the night from hunger last night. Still trying to stay on track with the calorie counting. Hope everyone else is doing well on their journey.

Mediumred · 09/02/2026 19:50

@DanaScullysLegoHair also on 0.25 wegovy and not feeling much food suppression. Was def ready for a sizeable tea!

ooh, thanks for the recommendation re the Voy food tool @Crossfitgirl , will check it out

DanaScullysLegoHair · 09/02/2026 19:58

It's not just me then. I wonder if the hunger was actually thirst?

I had a little Kind nut bar with a cuppa today at uni, then someone microwaved their lunch which smelled amazing and all of a sudden I was starving! I didn't have anything else, just sipped water and it did actually pass. I'd had a good breakfast and the Kind bar was just to keep me going but yeah, someone's delicious smelling lunch set me off 🤣

I had a Thai green curry and cauli rice for dinner, then a bit of full-fat Greek yoghurt and chia seeds. Definitely full now! Coming in at 1400 cals for the day, which is what Nutracheck set for me. I have my 'plan' set to the WLI mode there.

I was quite hungry today after 2nd dose Friday and similar happened last week too. I'm wondering if I don't eat enough for a couple of days and then it kind of catches up.
Have stopped wanting chocolate, biscuits and crisps which is a massive thing for me, especially snacking at night so that's got to help.
Hadn't lost anything after the first week but had a cheeky stand on the scales today and had lost 7lb so very pleased with that after only 10 days.

Beekman · 09/02/2026 20:03

Day 2 for me and woke up with a bit of bloating and a mild headache, both of which were gone by early afternoon. I’m chugging the water, electrolytes and tea but I have gone off coffee and Diet Pepsi totally, which is a complete novelty for me. I also do a glass of water with chia seeds but I have been doing this for a while, pre-Wegovy.

I had oats with blueberries and flax for breakfast and one slice of seeded bread with cream cheese and cucumber for lunch, with a few fresh raspberries. It was absolutely delicious, it was like I could taste the goodness. It was also a bit too much for me. I know this won’t last and my appetite will return but this is such a novelty for me and I am enjoying it very much so far.

chillicheeseandchocolate · 09/02/2026 21:01

@starmoonsun night snacking is a problem for me too, I noticed I was close to having a packet of crisps earlier, the biscuits also looked tempting. The first time I’ve craved them since starting. Well done on the 7lb loss 👏

Crossfitgirl · 09/02/2026 22:05

So I'm now about 48hrs post dose 2.
This morning I had my usual smoothie, but I think suppression has definitely peaked as I had my usual smoothie (probably drank it too fast) and I felt SOOOO full then a bit eurgh after.
1 bout of the squits and a bit refluxy, but this was headed off with a polo mint by lunchtime.

I've barely been hungry at all. I had a boiled egg lunchtime and felt full 😂 then DH and I went out for a cafe meal as we had the day off, and I really struggled to eat what was a very small plate.

I've managed a modified plate this evening (2 slices of pizza with a load of salad) and... I've not. Snacked. At. All.

I'm also a late night snacker and I honestly couldn't eat another thing right now, and I don't want to!
I haven't even wanted anything sweet.
My sweet cravings were definitely back to an extent on Friday and Saturday daytime (jabbed sat evening) so it's definitely doing the trick!

I'm worried about dealing with sweet cravings when I stop though. And once I stop I also lose the support from Voy, so I'm a bit anxious about what happens then - I don't want it to all be for nothing!
I've lost weight before when I have lost my appetite due to anxiety medication, but once the side effects died down I put it all back on again. How can I make this time different? (I wasn't trying to lose weight then, but it was definitely a welcome side effects!)

Joining this thread. I was on WG about 3 years ago. Dropped from BMI over 33 to 28 but stopped my journey early because I found out I was pregnant. Having struggled with conceiving for over 10 years - this was somewhat a miracle and I do think WG played a big factor.

Pregnancy went well and I was back to my pre pregnancy weight and dress size within 2 weeks of giving birth. But nursing made me ravenous all the time - eating like a body builder since. After nursing for over a year I have put on the weight I had lost - unsure where the "nurse and you will loose weight" myth comes from 🤷‍♀️.

Start BMI: 33.7
Goal: normal BMI by the end of the year

Helene2019 · 10/02/2026 07:22

Also just a bit from my experience last time on WG....

I found everything quite easy with no side effects except slight nausea at the first couple of doses. I had slow and steady weight loss 0.5-1lb a week every week with very little effort needed on my part. WG lowered food noise and I remember not having food cravings for sweet / savoury things or alcohol. It helped support me make better choices (high protein, whole foods) which carried me through my pregnancy where I didn't balloon in size or have cravings for junk food/sweets foods/snacks.

Tips for nausea: mints, mint tea, fizzy water (flavoured or unflavoured).

Struggling with water intake: try herbal teas. Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge with chunks of fruit, cucumber, mint to steep and add flavour, sugar free squash or flavoured waters, iced herbal teas.

wonderfullife123 · 10/02/2026 09:51

Hello, received the package yesterday and did first injection so on my way! Felt ok but a little nauseous and unsettled in the night. I have actually already lost a couple of pounds since Saturday as I have cut back on my alcohol intake. Wine is my downfall and I was consuming way too many calories. Excited to read that this can dampen those cravings. Have had greek yoghurt and cherries for breakfast. Feel slightly less hungry than usual I think. Craved a glass of water this morning which is most unlike me.
