February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

Also just a bit from my experience last time on WG....

I found everything quite easy with no side effects except slight nausea at the first couple of doses. I had slow and steady weight loss 0.5-1lb a week every week with very little effort needed on my part. WG lowered food noise and I remember not having food cravings for sweet / savoury things or alcohol. It helped support me make better choices (high protein, whole foods) which carried me through my pregnancy where I didn't balloon in size or have cravings for junk food/sweets foods/snacks.

Tips for nausea: mints, mint tea, fizzy water (flavoured or unflavoured).

Struggling with water intake: try herbal teas. Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge with chunks of fruit, cucumber, mint to steep and add flavour, sugar free squash or flavoured waters, iced herbal teas.

Amazing to hear your success story, and of your successful pregnancy after struggling to conceive! Life is so much more exhausting after you've had children, breastfeeding or not - and I'm sure a lot can relate to the weight creeping up. How old is your little one now?

Thanks so much for the tips - I have also found mints and mint tea very helpful for nausea. I may try the water infusion - love an excuse for a new water bottle 😂
Did you find going up the dosages had any side effects? Or just the first 2 injections full stop?

My children are one of the reasons I want this to stick, and I am making sure they see the healthy foods I'm eating. I seem to have converted my 6 year old to being obsessed with boiled eggs for snacks! I've had to limit her to one a day 😂

Feeling fine today - I'm noticing I don't feel as good in a morning, but my energy levels have definitely improved compared to week 1. Onwards and upwards! I weighed this morning rather than my usual evening weigh today, and I'm nearly 3kg down from my starting weight (cheating a bit I know, as I'll be heavier this evening so can't really compare!) but anyway it has made me smile. I don't want to lose too quickly so it feels like it's sustainable.

1st week done and although I felt some suppression the first couple of days the food noise came back. I’m happy to report though that I’ve lost 6lbs Smile Plus I went out for a meal so can’t complain. I’m doing my 2nd dose tonight.

InstantRegret · 10/02/2026 15:10

Well done to everyone on your results so far 👏

Just wondering how much you all lost the first week compared to what you aim to lose overall?

I only lost 2lb on week 1 and I am looking to loose around 3 stone.

Some of you have lost much larger amounts on week 1 so wondered how that compares to what you’re hoping to lose overall.

chillicheeseandchocolate · 10/02/2026 16:39

@InstantRegret I’m also hoping to lose around 3 stones. I lost 8lb in the first week which surprised me. I’ve been sticking to a calorie deficit diet with a focus on nutrition

TheEgg2 · 10/02/2026 17:24

I’m hoping to lose 4 stone that will take me from “Obese” BMI to the top of the “Normal” range. That’s 14.4 to 10.4 and I’m 5’5”. I’m 56, and on HRT with high cholesterol and v high blood pressure that is driving me - I’d happily sit at a size 16 for the rest of my life but want to get off all the tablets. I’m on Week 1, Day 5 and already lost 6 lbs and very surprised. Very active (and noisy) burps and indigestion similar to that that I had when pregnant and the accompanying nausea. V encouraged that the alcohol noise is almost switched off and I don’t get that buzz when I do have one or two drinks so it feels kind of pointless……and the mental health benefits for me are pretty amazing (I’ve got PTSD and awaiting ADHD assessment). Just wondering how long I can afford to stay on this!

Helene2019 · 10/02/2026 18:59

@Crossfitgirl it was literally the first two injections. I never had any problems increasing dosage or anything either. Yet I know others that were nauseous the entire way through. I do think junky food (high fat high sugar food) does make you nauseous on the meds so limiting those really helps with controlling it.

My DC is just over 1 year now. Mobile, vocal and getting up to mischief, with me chasing after lol.

InstantRegret · 10/02/2026 19:03

@chillicheeseandchocolate that is an insane loss for 1 week! I’m jealous 😆

@TheEgg2 same goes for you! I don’t know why I lost so little compared to everyone else! I am also worried about the cost. I was hoping I could coast along on 2.5mg and lose most of the weight on it but it looks like I’ll deffo need to go up and the costs are scary 😳

TheEgg2 · 10/02/2026 19:52

@InstantRegret don’t worry, lots of people say on the previous months threads that it took until Week 2 or 3 for it to kick in. The difference between 2.5-5 mg is £14 on Boots that I’m on and you can get £15 Advantage points per order. Other threads say that you can buy 2 or more pens from Asda at a more competitive price.

Theringcycle · 10/02/2026 21:09

Hi, can I join? Started a few days ago so still on my first jab. I have t2 diabetes and high blood pressure and some proteinuria so I qualify on the NHS, which I’m deeply, extremely grateful for. I take blood pressure meds, tablets for diabetes, and a statin. So very much in this for health - the kidney clinic said I was the patient mounjaro was made for I am 50, with 3 kids, youngest 5. The view of my medical team is that right now I have no real adverse effects of my health conditions but that I have a great chance here to prevent issues and complications from arising. So far I’ve found I’m definitely eating less (but not dramatically so) and the script in my head is a weird one of no longer “asking myself” if I want some food - I kind of feel the same level of non-hunger all day? Is this what it’s like for thin people all the time? I currently weigh c130kg so I have a lot to loose. I’ve pretty much always ping-ponged between a size 20-24 for my whole adult life.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Only compare yourself to yourself. A loss is a loss, and that's a win in my book! Who cares what other people lose? They aren't you. Would you be pleased with your loss had you not seen how anyone else was doing? I bet you would!

I have felt quite hungry today and seem to have eaten much like normal portions, and i have snacked and craved chocolate too! I do wonder if I'm due on my period, as I do crave sweets then! I've had a little chocolate, and amazingly managed to overcome my evening craving without eating any more chocolate, by having some greek yoghurt with honey and fruit! Usually I'd still want the chocolate after.

I'm actually a bit glad I've had a bit of hunger and sweet cravings. My sister has just tried a week off her MJ and said her sweet cravings have been back just the same as before all week so she's going back on it (don't get me wrong, she's lost 5 stone). I'd like to still have some cravings so that I can learn how to deal with them better.

So far I've been trying to pause before I give in to it, to at least think about what I'm really feeling. It's helped a lot.

Anyone else have tips for cravings?
I like cleaning my teeth as well to prevent me eating more unnecessarily.

Welcome @Theringcycle it sounds like you are doing the best thing for your health, good luck:-)

Been reading and thinking, and finishing cancer treatment.
Can anyone give me a voy discount code?
How do they verify weight? I'm overweight enough so not a problem ;)

I think with Voy I just entered my weight, then you have to take a photo within their app of yourself in clothing that shows your body shape. I think I also had to verify my ID (or I might be getting mixed up with ASDA, as I did go through them at first but they ended up not taking my payment and I swapped to Voy with a code myself) x

Thanks ladies. I have got a couple of codes now..sorry if I dont pick you!
I will get to grips with my tamoxifen for a few weeks as I think i dont want to overdo it.
I'm losing weight myself so perhaps best take a photo now. Does it need to be dated when you apply?

FcukBreastCancer · 11/02/2026 08:40

Oh ignore that, photo in the app. Maybe I'll do it when I get my period and look extra curvy 😅

Morning,

I didn't see anything about a date for photos. Just took a selfie in the mirror and uploaded it, along with a pic of my ID.

Hope you start feeling a bit better soon 🙂

I think my message may have appeared under a different user name 😬 as I've name changed since this one for another thread about my eye! 😂

@DanaScullysLegoHair I didn't see an option to upload an existing photo, I had to take it through the app - although I could have absolutely missed this.

I thought the same about sending a pic of me at my fattest, as I only just qualify on my current BMI, and I did put my evening weight rather than my morning weight purposely. But my body fat % is so high and my visceral fat is so high that I don't feel bad about it - I'm genuinely worried about my health. But yeah I had to do the pic there and then, fuming if I could have uploaded as I looked a right dog mess 😂

I think as long as it's recent it should be ok... If you can upload it I'm not sure if they are able to see the photo details (time/date) from when it was taken if you upload something. I would be googling it to be sure!

Good point @Crossfitgirl you may be right on the pic. I can't quite remember. I also looked like shit anyway but who cares, wanted to get the white vest of I chose to wear as I looked like a stuffed sausage 🤣

InstantRegret · 11/02/2026 12:06

Yes, you just take a photo there and then in the app with Voy, they don’t let you upload a previous pic. I know this as I’d taken some photos the day before to upload but it wasn’t an option when I applied. I looked an absolute mess on the day. They must see some right sights 😂
I went with Voy as they are the only one I found that prescribe off-label with a bmi 27-30 with no other conditions. I do have high blood pressure and cholesterol but not on meds for them so couldn’t be bothered to faff around trying to prove it. Does anyone know if any of the others prescribe off-label like this where you don’t need other conditions?
I’d love to stay with Voy as I think they’re really good but I don’t think I can afford to stay with them long term. Obviously I have a referral code to get money off but nobody to give it to!

Perserverancepayoffplease · 11/02/2026 17:55

What are you all having for tea?
I need something with fibre.
I am feeling fed up. The scales say I have gained a pound and they hadn't moved much in the first place. I am counting calories and am consistently in deficit. Plus the jabs.

I thought this was going to be different and I'd see a change on the scales and it would all be worth it.
But nothing is different apart from feeling horribly bloated a lot of the time.
If I'm gojng to stay fat, I might as well save the money and enjoy some bloody chocolate.

Notellinganyone · 11/02/2026 18:01

My first pen is on its way. I’ve been circling around this for a year and am very nervous but I’m 5ft 2 and 12 and a half stone and look about 8 months pregnant so time to do something. Glad to have this thread to follow along with.

BloomBySummer · 11/02/2026 18:32

I would like to join this thread. I bought mounjaro last August to help me lose weight it's still sat in the door of my fridge unopened. For one reason or another I've kept putting it off however despite giving up alcohol completely and counting calories on Nutracheck 1400 a day I've lost and found the same pound so I'm still the same weight I was last August. So fed up with the weight now at 5ft and a few inches and 12 stone 7 pounds I need to try something to get it gone. Not going to lie I am so scared of taking mounjaro not sure why as I've tried another wli before a good few years ago now and it was fine maybe because mounjaro is weekly where the other one was daily.

Notellinganyone · 11/02/2026 19:44

@BloomBySummer - sounds like we are size twins! I’m planning to take my jab on Friday night.

Just caught up with the thread and then read yours. We are the same height and weight. I was thinking about taking mine tonight but going to wait until the morning so it's not rushed.

What's your goal weight if you have one? I would be over the moon at 10 stone.
