February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

I don't know about anyone else but day 4 and I'm feeling rotten. Have been drinking water constantly and I've already done 3 litres and peeing like a racehorse! The nausea is terrible and I'm so tired so I can't even think about food. WFH today and I think I might have to go to bed 😩

Hope everyone else is having a better time of it and this is just a glitch.

Oh no, that doesn't sound fun. Have you tried eating small snacky portions regularly? Also you could try eating something salty or an electrolyte drink to hydrate you, as if you aren't eating anything then the water might not actually be doing much.
The only feeling I can relate this to in any way, is pregnancy sickness. I just went "off" most food, didn't want tea or coffee (I'm usually a huge tea fiend!) and I had a low level nausea and was knackered all the time. The same things that helped me then have helped now - eating small plain things rather than full meals, flavoured or very cold water, and keeping busy.

It sounds like some if it is down to not consuming enough - do you feel better after eating a bit?
I hope it settles down soon!

@Perserverancepayoffplease thanks, feeling a bit better after a nap!

@starmoonsun @Crossfitgirl I think you’re both right, eating helped once I made myself and just eating a banana made me feel better. But yes, it is just like pregnancy nausea!

I think it is just going to take a bit of time working it all out and planning things a bit better. I feel completely fine now, just tired but eating small portions is def the right thing to do and having a healthy snack on hand will help.

@Crossfitgirl any recommendations on electrolytes? I’ve never really bought them before and I don’t like all those sports drinks.

I hope everyone has had a good day.

TheEgg2 · 06/02/2026 21:50

Hi all, I’ve popped my Mounjaro cherry! All that worrying and that’s the first time I’ve injected £50 into me, 🤣 . Feel a bit meh and sick like early pregnancy too @starmoonsun but hasn’t stopped my food intake or enjoying a glass of wine, might even have a Friday night cookie…….safe to say, no suppression over here.
I have felt a bit more care-less though, less over-thinking things that for my typically overwrought ADHD brain is just so relaxing. Strange too.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so poorly @ELB73 , I do hope it eases off.

And to those who haven’t lost much or at all, safe to say that I’m the SLOWEST loser on every diet and Orlystat did no good for me either, This is a marathon and I’ll be with you even it turns into a blumming Ironman or whatever Sara Cox did for Children in Need!

i intend to kick back and see what happens this week and if I don’t develop pancreatitis or gallstones or any other horror I’ve fretted about, then I’ll count it as a good thing,

Happy weekend everyone.

Sally xx

@TheEgg2 Welcome 🙂 Where did you order from for £50?! Mine cost ridiculously more than that 😢

Surely it's a typo and she meant £150? Surely! Otherwise that is a concerningly excellent price!

starmoonsun · 06/02/2026 23:01

@TheEgg2 I was listening to the radio a little while ago and they were talking about weight loss injections. Someone rang in and said that she'd been taking it and it had helped her ADHD as well, said she was more focused.
If I'm correct they said it is known to have this effect.

@InstantRegret I assume she means if you divide the cost by the number of injections? Mine was also a lot more than £50.

InstantRegret · 06/02/2026 23:47

@Crossfitgirl & @starmoonsun either of those would make a lot more sense! Doh 🤦‍♀️
Was very concerned for a minute there that I had been royally ripped off! 😆

TheEgg2 · 07/02/2026 07:46

Yes, mine was £174 from Boots so not quite £50 per week, Maths isn’t my strong suit. I just went for the £15 Advantage points,

RedApplePie · 07/02/2026 08:21

36 hours after second MJ and I’m still alive with no major side effects and the minor ones at the moment are greatly reduced from last week. I’m feeling generally just calmer and quieter inside. It’s really hard to explain as it’s not just about food. I have some fairly big worries at the moment, and while I’m still worried about them all, the constant ticker tape internal anxiety chat has turned way down. It’s as if I have breathing space to think rather than just react all the time. So it’s achieving something in 8 days that my anti depressant totally failed to manage in the three months I took them for. Life just suddenly feels a bit more optimistic. It’s the weirdest of experiences. The tentative answer to ‘how do you feel?’ is ‘um - normal, I think’.

The scale victory is that I broke out of the 14 stone bracket. Only by half a pound but it was a relief to see a 13 on the scale this morning, that always feels much nearer an acceptable weight for me than the 14s do. I’m also trying to avoid all horror stories about the drug now, although those and the constant criticism about ‘the lazy way out’ is pretty rife everywhere. I’m still glad I went to a small local pharmacy, I’m finding it quite reassuring to know I have a real person nearby to ask if I need them. I’ll stick there for a few months anyway, and just suck the premium up for now.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and that those suffering feel better soon. Last weekend I felt quite grim so I do sympathise.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 07/02/2026 10:17

That sounds amazing @RedApplePie
Well done!
I went for a drink last night- had 3 gin and tonics on an empty tummy. Normally I'd be scoffing packets of crisps but it didn't even occur to me. Bizarre!

I was really bloated yesterday- I looked pregnant.

Woke up at 3am with an absolutely banging headache, way out of proportion to the gin I'd had.
Anyway, this morning all the bloatedness has gone. Am all squidgy. Got weighed and have lost 3lbs!'
Have put that as my first week loss.
Good luck to everyone else weighing in today.

Am going for lunch with friends today. Am going to drive so I don't drink. But worried about food though. 🤔

Perserverancepayoffplease · 07/02/2026 10:32

Also, I splashed out on a new , very beautifu , very expensive l top yesterday as a reward for surviving this week!!🤣🤣

Gotcto get the dopamine somewhere!🤣

I am very much looking forward to the clothes rewards!

I was reading through the Feb25 threads, which I’ve loosely followed since the beginning. So inspirational and I’m annoyed it took me so long to just do it, but I was so scared and so embarrassed that I couldn’t just ‘eat normally’ like everyone tells you to do. I hate all the moral judgement around this. Anyway, I plan to spend a happy hour or two this afternoon putting together Pinterest boards of gorgeous summer outfits. 😆

NedSchneebly · 07/02/2026 16:42

Have weighed myself today - lost 6.6 pounds!
I've just ordered my next pen - decided to go up a dose as its only £10 more. Anyone else decided what dose to do next?

I don't feel like I've massively deprived myself this week - just managed to control snacking and eating crap, which has made such a difference.

Went to see my GP yesterday to see if I qualified on NHS but I don't. On my NHS app report appointment, it says my ideal weight is HALF what I am now. Is that not bonkers?? Surely can't expect to lose half my body weight??!!!

Sounds like others have had good weight loss too - hope everyone is OK today x

Perserverancepayoffplease · 07/02/2026 18:20

6lbs is fantastic! Wow! Well done you!

Crossfitgirl · 07/02/2026 23:00

Fuck.

I've lost the pen!!!
I thought I'd hidden all of it in a little zip bag with all the other bits, inside another storage bag, underneath my dresser stool. I've opened the bag, everything is in there (side effects care kit, mini sharps bin) but not the pen. WHERE IS THE PEN?!

Now I don't know if I've hidden the pen somewhere else and forgotten that I'd hidden it separately, or whether DH has bloody found it and moved it just to be clever. This is unlikely but....
... I can't bloody ask him! It's hidden from him! 😂 And it's 2nd jab day!! Argh!

Help me, where would you hide the pen if it was in your bedroom?? 😭😭😭😂😂😂

OP posts:
DanaScullysLegoHair · 07/02/2026 23:15

Is it down the side of bed and matress?

Did you move it out of the bedroom to the bathroom somewhere in order to have privacy later?

Has it rolled under the bed?

Is it elsewhere in the dresser stool?

In dressing gown pocket?

Did the pen get pushed inside the sharps bin?

Bloody hell, what a pain and even worse you can't ask DH straight out! Hope you find it 👍

I found it thank god!!
I'd put it in the bathroom drawer, in a zipped bag with all my period stuff. I think I originally hid it all in there, but the sharps bin is not exactly discreet so I'd moved that elsewhere. I think I'm just going to keep it all in one place from now on 😂
Honestly, totally shat myself then thinking I'd actually lost it! The joys of keeping this secret...

Thanks for all the suggestions - the bathroom was correct! I did check all those other places too, except dressing gown pocket as I know it wouldn't be left in there 😂

Amazing! Thank god you found it. Hiding it with period stuff is genius btw 🤣👍

Have you done the jab now? I did my second 0.25 last night and all is well.

DP said you can see that I've lost some weight already. Am thrilled! Am away this weekend, weighed in on Thurs and had lost 6.1lb. Can't wait to get home tomorrow and see what the scales say as I've been really sticking with my cal limit and logging on Nutracheck.

Good luck to all going forward 🙂

I have done it now, so week 2 on 2.5mg wegovy starts now - I think I may get a bruise from this jab as it's a bit sore after this time, but I was far more confident!

I've lost 1.2kg which is apparently over 2lbs, so I'm really happy with that tbh - I don't even feel like I've "dieted" as such. I'm not calorie counting (I will never be able to keep up with this even for a couple of days, never mind long term) so I've just used Voy's meal analysis tool when I've remembered, and tbh I'm finding it great. I'm actually learning from it, and I've found I'm adapting my meals now to make them more balanced. I'd have never before thought oh, I should add something for fibre to this, or I should add a healthy fat, or try boost protein. But here we are! It's like a bit of a game now to try and get it balanced enough to meet all the nutritional stuff and not need tips! I'm genuinely finding it so much more practical than any other tracker I've used.

I've also done a weight training session, a Pilates class, and a very short walk so hoping to keep this up.

I have still been feeling quite low energy, but I'm hoping this picks up as my body adjusts.

Good luck this week everyone!

What does that mean?

TwoNicePuppies · 08/02/2026 09:44

Well done on the losses!
Hubby has lost 3.5lb in week one, hasn’t really had suppression tbh but has been having regular meals rather than having no breakfast, a pie/baguette for lunch then ALL the food from 5pm until bedtime! He’s also switched to water from soft drinks.

RedApplePie · 08/02/2026 10:06

CrossFit, before I noticed you’d found it I nearly reminded you that you’d told the internet last week that it was with your period stuff and asked you if you’d moved it since then 😀. I’m honestly not a weird stalkerish person, I was just invested at the time in the discussion about where to hide it!

Well, after posting yesterday that dose two was going really well, I had a horrific night. Woke up at 3am with cramps and had an hour in the loo with terrible squits. I still feel quite nauseous and delicate. I’m hoping that’s not going to happen a lot and it’s made me a bit nervous. It would have been nasty had I not only been about 4 meters from the bathroom when it struck. And now feeling bad that DH and DS are being nice to me this morning about my dicky tummy.

RedApplePie · 08/02/2026 10:09

Perserverancepayoffplease · 08/02/2026 09:41

What does that mean?

In Mounjaro pens there is additional medication to prime the pen. It amounts to usually just over a full dose left when you’ve taken the 4th dose. It’s supposed to be discarded and the pen itself won’t deliver it but some people use a needle and syringe to remove it via the bung at the tip of the pen.
