February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

Welcome newbies!

@ASkarsMissus I did jab 5 last night, also no dose increase, and I also had a horrendous stomach upset today x2!
I had a lovely mummy daughter thing booked at a local health studio, and I had to exit for 10 mins in the middle of yoga to sit over the loo in pain! Luckily it passed and I've been ok since then.

I haven't been feeling particularly great at all this week, fingers crossed Voy give me some good advice to help with my general energy levels - I'm currently in a chat with a clinician!

I do have to say, I have taken extra care to drink plenty today and forced down a bit of lunch even when I wasn't hungry and I have felt a bit better so perhaps I just need to be extra vigilant with hydration and make sure I'm not skipping meals!

I’m feeling a bit better but stomach gurgling away and I’m a bit scared to eat much. About to have some toast to see if it settles down.

It was just such a shock after a relatively easy few weeks and so quickly after the jab!

Hope we are both feeling better soon x

Helene2019 · 01/03/2026 19:20

I think feeling cold is prob due to the calorie reduction...friends have had this while they were on the jab. I guess hot water bottle and sipping warm drinks (herbal teas or warm squash) might help.

The upside of it for me is that my peri hot flushes have calmed right down

I took my 2nd dose on Wednesday, but it doesn't seem to have worked this time.
I have been eating far too much and am so scared to get on the scales as I am sure I have put on the 5lbs I lost last week.

If this has happened to anyone else, have you taken the 3rd dose early?

Am tempted to take it tomorrow - 2 days early.

aredrosegrewup · 01/03/2026 22:18

Hi, hope I can join. I took my first dose on Friday just gone (27th), the effect of hunger suppression etc... was immediate! I was very shocked. I weighed myself on Tuesday and then I have weighed myself today and I was 5lb less, that can't be accurate can it? Would anyone mind telling me how much they lost in their first week?

I'm taking Mounjaro starting dose of 2.5mg.

Fullofpudding · 01/03/2026 22:20

@AnotherChangeDayThe first month isn’t intended for weight loss. It’s just to get it in your system. Don’t take it early. Just stick to good food choices including lots of protein.

I think it's fine to move it forwards a day or two. Voy give you the option to move your jab date and say the minimum time between injections should be at least 3 days if you move jab day. So if you normally jab on a Monday, you could jab Thursday onwards. Obviously you're not meant to do that every week, but you could see how you feel jabbing early and it might be you go up a dose at the next pen. If you're still on a starting dose I'd maybe give it one more week as it does build up in your system and you risk side effects if you move up before being on the starter for at least 4 weeks.

I'm on week 5 now and have stayed on the same dose, and suppression definitely seems to have gone up since my first few weeks. That's just me though! I also had quite a few hungry days in week 3 and did gain that week, but then I have maintained and lost a bit more, and overall have still lost across the month.

Morning all,

How are we all doing? I'm feeling a bit rough today. I delayed my 5th injection until Saturday evening, rather than Friday. DP and I went out for the first time in 5 weeks and I ate 3 southern fried chicken tenders and had some beer. Not a good move. I felt ill and slept all day Saturday which continued as fatigue and general meh yesterday.

I don't know why I bothered! I just think I framed it as a 'treat' and an itch I wanted to scratch. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again and realised how much better I've felt eating lovely, healthy foods and not having any alcohol at all.

I don't think it helped that my Wegovy dose has increased from 0.25 to 0.5 on this jab. I definitely feel less hungry and don't feel fussed about food at all. Drinking lots of tea and water and trying to get a good evening meal in.

Anyway, just a check in. My weight remains the same, am sure I will see a loss in the next few days.

As ever, good luck everyone. Hope all is going well!

Hi all, when are people ordering their next pen? I'm about to take my 3rd dose tomorrow night but I've had an email from Bolt saying that its time for my next shipment and to stay on track, I should order my refill today. That seems really early to me or are they right? I'm also undecided on trying the GD to stretch it out by another week. Do companies get annoyed with people doing this? Does it affect the ability to order the next pen?

Rosetime · 02/03/2026 12:04

@Crossfitgirl and @ASkarsMissus hope you are both feeling better today.

@Yorkshireteaalwayswins , i have the same with my provider too.
My 3rd dose is due in 3 days but the next injection has been ready to reorder friday last week.

Re: taking the GD and delaying the next order and company's reaction, there is a certain time lapse between prescriptions at which time the company would treat you as a new customer/patient i.e undergoing a full assessment to be approved for wegovy/mounjaro. This time varies between companies, for some companies it's 6 months and for some 3 months.
Having the golden dose doesn't delay a new prescription by that long.

WLIs are in high demand now, so yeah the companies would like to make sales but they cannot be unsafe. I wouldn't worry too much about being in a hurry to order the next injection. Judge it by how long their shipment takes, so you have the next one ready or arriving very soon when you take the 4th dose of the current pen... for most companies it is a few days.

I am not ordering my next one till after my 3rd dose or on the day i take the 4th dose.

@Rosetime thanks for your response, i feel a bit better knowing that this is normal! I wont re-order yet but will leave it for a week.
Will you be taking the GD? I am nervous about it as I'll have to order syringes but it seems crazy to waste an entire dose.

Rosetime · 02/03/2026 12:16

@Yorkshireteaalwayswins , I have been looking into the GD, reading up on articles and leaflets about mounjaro and reading other discussion forums. It seems crazy to waste a dose especially considering the cost involved.

Cookiedough123 · 02/03/2026 12:19

After my first week losing 7lb I’ve actually only lost 1.2lbs this week so far although technically my week starts on Wednesday so it could change although I suspect it won’t as I have come on today which always messes with the scales! I definitely haven’t felt my appetite suppressed as much as I did the first week but have not over eaten. I am still really struggling with fatigue when I run. My legs feel like heavy blocks and I struggle to keep going. I didn’t have this before starting mounjaro, I could run a further distance without having to stop! I’m due dose 2 tomorrow, just hoping I can get through the period cravings!

Cookiedough123 · 02/03/2026 12:22

@Yorkshireteaalwayswins I read something that you can force twist the pen with pliers and use the pen to deliver the golden dose although I haven’t tried it yet personally but it is something I am going to try.

Yes I've read about it too and I agree, with what we're paying, I'm loathe to waste an extra dose!
@Cookiedough123 I've read about that too but I'm nervous about breaking it and losing the dose. Maybe I just need to be brave.
I'm only just ahead of you and I'm also feeling the fatigue. I cant seem to talk myself into exercise (though I hope to change that soon) so you are already doing better than me. Well done for keeping going though. Just remember, our bodies are still adjusting to the medication. I'm sure your stamina will return soon.

Rosetime · 02/03/2026 12:51

I haven't been able to get on to exercising either @Yorkshireteaalwayswins . So i walk. Target is 8000 - 10 000 steps a day. That has helped me have some activity..

peppercornrent · 02/03/2026 12:52

The pens don't twist as easily as they used to. Take the extra dose via syringe to make sure that your dosing is accurate. You can buy them on Amazon.

Ah ok, thanks. Can you recommend any? Ive had a look and there seems to be so many different sizes.

@Yorkshireteaalwayswins , I just want to correct something. I just re-read my message.

I said the time gap between prescription requests before companies treat you as a new patient is 3-6 months.. my apologies i meant 6 weeks to 3 months.

RedApplePie · 02/03/2026 17:49

Week 5 side effects have all gone thankfully, and I’m no longer obese! Tbf, thought I had achieved that milestone a week ago but turned out scales were playing silly buggers, but new ones have been purchased and seem reliable. I also deadlifted a new maximum weight today of 112kg so I was SERIOUSLY proud of myself. Desperate to maintain those muscle gains, have worked so hard for them.

Wambamaloomaawambamboo · 02/03/2026 21:15

Im day 3 after 4th jab, for the for the first 3 weeks I was constipated, and today ive been at the opposite end of the scale, has this happened to anyone else? Inhad no suppression either after jab 3 and now its come back after jab 4 quite strongly

Cookiedough123 · 03/03/2026 07:43

Morning! I ended up jabbing #3 last night. This week I’ve lost 2.2lbs. So in total I’m down 8.8lbs which I’m pleased with for 2 weeks progress. I had a really lazy day yesterday but I’m going to do a little more today including a run. Hope everyone has a good day.

@RedApplePie well done on no longer being obese! I also went from obese into overweight category!
