February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

I am still in obese category (only just started) but my bmi has dropped by 0.6.
I am waiting till about day 5 into jab 3 before ordering my next dose. Need to decide if tonstick with 2.5mg or go up to 5mg.

Morning! I ended up jabbing #3 last night. This week I’ve lost 2.2lbs. So in total I’m down 8.8lbs which I’m pleased with for 2 weeks progress. I had a really lazy day yesterday but I’m going to do a little more today including a run. Hope everyone has a good day.

@RedApplePie well done on no longer being obese! I also went from obese into overweight category!

Congratulations.
How are you faring with side effects?

TheEgg2 · 03/03/2026 10:55

@RedApplePiewell done, that is some heavy lifting! And you’re not obese, wowser, that must feel good. Inspired by you and others, I’ve got back in the pool and started exercising more and bizarrely side effects seem to have eased off, wonder how much of this just needs some determination and a good dose of endorphins to settle.

Sameoldsameold78 · 03/03/2026 12:39

hi all took my second dose today, I’ve lost 4lb so far, had a headache too so good to know that’s quite normal. Definitely noticed a reduction in food noise and am eating less although yesterday I was absolutely starving.

Hello everyone - I was just wondering who is likely to be here for a long time? I'm assuming about a year or more as I have a lot to lose and don't want to do it too quickly - I lost 100lbs in a year first time around but had to take time out for my head to catch up. I put about 25lbs back on over about 6 months, and now looking to lose 70. This just gets me into the 'overweight' bmi which is realistic I hope. Any other long-timers out there?

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 03/03/2026 18:04

@peppercornrent I’m about to start and have 50kg to lose (110lb). Planning on slow but steady. Any tips from your first go around? It would be amazing if I could lose 100 pounds in a year! Tell me what worked for you. Please!

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 03/03/2026 18:14

2nd dose today. I’ve lost 5lb this week and moved from obese to overweight. Never thought I’d be buzzing to be overweight.

I’m using MJ to help me stick to the slim fast plan which I know works for me but the constant feeling of ‘I’m not actually eating’ fills my head. I really haven’t had that this week which is why it’s worked I guess.

🤞 it continues!

Fullofpudding · 03/03/2026 18:16

Weighed myself today and I’m officially a stone down in 4 weeks. About to take my first 5mg dose this evening x

Sameoldsameold78 · 03/03/2026 19:27

How do you know when you need to go up to 5mg?

Rosetime · 03/03/2026 21:00

Sameoldsameold78 · 03/03/2026 19:27

How do you know when you need to go up to 5mg?

Depends on whether you are getting adequate appetite suppresson your current dose with minimal or manageable side effects.

Some people do not go up to the next dose due to side effects and some do not go because they are happy with the level of appetite suppression they are getting and probably do not want to loose weight too quickly.

Evening everyone,

Is anyone eating protein 'puddings' at all? I've just had a Muller x MyProtein vanilla one and found it very filling but a bit bland. Not 100% sure they're any good from a UPF point of view but a couple a week might be OK.

Any recommendations/alternatives? They don't have to be low calorie either.

Thanks.

TheEgg2 · 03/03/2026 21:24

Tried the same one and could only eat half of it, not very tasty at all.

DanaScullysLegoHair · 03/03/2026 21:41

Yeah, it was rather dense! I might try a chocolate mousse style one next time.

Do you want shop bought or are you willing to make your own? There's some really nice puddings you can make using blended boiled eggs, avocados etc out there - I tried an avocado one and it was lovely! I've also been using protein powder and greek yoghurt to make creamy smoothies with added flaxseeds, chia seeds, fruit, sometimes nut butter and some honey - always tastes lovely and is very balanced and filling.

I find the shop bought ones awful tbh!

I'm halfway through week 5 now having stayed on the same dose. I am feeling much better after my stomach upset, thanks for asking (sorry I had so many new posts to catch up on i can't remember who asked!).

I've had zero other side effects this week! Very glad I stayed on 0.25!

For those feeling fatigued - how much are you drinking?
I had been feeling so low energy last week with a few headaches etc, really couldn't be arsed doing anything and I only made it to the gym once. However the past 2 days I've filled my 1L water bottle with a cordial I like, and managed to drink LOADS more - purposefully so, and I feel a mile better. I have energy again and feel way less fatigued. I must have just been dehydrated!

Me - I've got 50 odd lbs to loose and it will take till at least the end of the year as I loose very slowly sometimes only 0.5lb a week. (I was previously on wegovy, and got down to an overweight BMI, had to pause because I got pregnant. Now restarting after stopping breastfeeding.)

Absolutely fine with making my own. I'll go have a look what is out there recipe wise. Thank you!

To add, the one I made was like a chocolate mousse with cocoa powder and it was really nice!

There's a few high protein ones on Calla's clean eats. Boiled Egg Chocolate Pudding (High Protein, Low Carb) - Calla's Clean Eats https://share.google/y8nlcskvbDTJYxEXg which look really good - there's a few I might try actually, especially the chia seeds ones! They have 50g protein! Not sure about the calories though. She uses sweetener but I'm sure the recipe I used just had honey, and a lot just use vanilla extract. I used an Instagram recipe - there's absolutely loads on there.

I'm inspired, I'm going to try the boiled egg one myself now 😄

I would say don't try to hard. Don't think about it too much - good protein fruit & veg, cake chocolate whatever you truly want. Take it in the morning after breakfast, drink the water and be mindful of what will stay in your stomach overnight.

You have a lot to lose for a reason. In my case I can (off mj) eat a huge meal and then have a rumbling stomach after about 45 minutes, and simply never felt full. Ever. With mj it is so quiet in my head - I always eat at mealtimes even when I don't feel like it, even if it's just a chocolate protein yoghurt and a tin of mandarins (bizarre choice but it works for me).

I now understand what feeling full after a meal is. I can go out and choose the nicest thing on the menu rather than just the most filling. I say no to dessert (not always) and I can have one biscuit with a cup of tea and enjoy it more than the 7 that I used to have.

It truly is a wonder drug for the seriously overweight and I can't understand why the NHS are not prescribing it for everyone with a bmi starting with a 4. Good luck, only weigh yourself once a month, and treat vinted as a clothing library.

Cookiedough123 · 05/03/2026 11:02

Morning. I’ve weighed again and I am now 14st 3.6 which gives me a loss of 11.2lbs in 16 days. I do feel like a huge amount was water weight as I am so much less bloated than I was! I’ve had no side effects. I did wonder about moving upto 5mg earlier on in the week as I felt like the suppression wasn’t lasting very long but I’m going to see how things go. I’ve done 2x jabs in my thighs and this most recent one was in my belly and so far wouldn’t say it’s made much difference. Hope everyone has a good week.

Diddlydoowap · 05/03/2026 11:37

After 2 weeks I have lost 4.3kg (9lb) That feels like a lot and I can feel it in my waistbands already which is great. But might that all be water? I'm definintely eating fewer carbs than normal, so less bloat. I'm wondering when I can celebrate the loss of some fat!

soupmaker · 05/03/2026 12:11

Week 4 WG jab done. I’m feeling so much better and clothes definitely feeling looser. Jumped on the scales and I’m 14.10 this morning. I was 16 around Christmas time. BMI just in the obese category so not too far from overweight.

I’m definitely here for the long haul. I want to lose slowly and reset my relationship with food. No idea if that means long term WLI use or not but taking it one week at a time at the moment. In an ideal world I’d be 11 something so I’ve a long way to go. Next jab is 0.5, so hoping I don’t get any negative side effects.

pelagra · 05/03/2026 13:11

Fourth WG jab this morning for me too.
I had lost 7lb, (half a stone!), but I've had a horrible bug and been almost completely horizontal for 5 days. Regained 2lb.

I haven't been aware of any effects for the last 6 days, so much so that I wondered if I'd actually done last week's jab. This morning I found the pen was nearly empty after use, so I must have.
I decided to use up the remainder as well, about 10 clicks, where 37 would be .25mg. Since I'm going up to .5 next time I may as well anticipate it slightly.

TheEgg2 · 05/03/2026 14:15

Just checking in on W4 D5 and hope people are feeling OK? I’ve shifted my lardy arse back into the pool and re-started my 2/3 times a week swimming habit that I’d felt too ill to do since starting MJ. Feeling so much better after 4th jab. Not sure if linked to exercise or fact that had to throw out my v old size 18 swimsuit as it was too baggy or another 2lb weight loss or the sun shining a bit more. I’ve also managed to have a 4 day alcoholic drink break that is v good for me - previously had a G&T or wine every other night, how’s everyone else who was bothered about their alcohol consumption doing on that front? Still staying on 2.5 mg and too much of a scaredy cat to do a golden dose as haven’t been keeping it in the fridge. 🙄

RedApplePie · 05/03/2026 15:11

I’m not a huge drinker although it crept up in December to ‘little but often’ and sort of stayed there throughout January. Haven’t had a drink since I started on 29/1 and to be honest, haven’t even thought about it. I also have a box of Lindt balls (previously a real weak spot for me) in the cupboard since end January and haven’t even considered opening them. Normally they would send their siren song to me through the larder door till they were gone. I just feel a bit meh about them.
