February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

@RedApplePieoh thanks for the insight from your group, yes, seems to make perfect sense to me. I’ve stopped my exercising but today did manage about 3/4 of my normal swimming lengths so I think I’ll just try and exercise on Days 5 and 7 as that’s when I feel more awake!

Coming to the end of Week 3 for me and I’m 9lbs down that I’m delighted with. I’ve decided to stay on 2.5 mg and swapped providers as Boots have been rubbish so now with ASDA as they price matched well. I’m choosing to stay in 2.5 mg as side effects have been extensive - I’ve had brain fog, insomnia, hot flushes, felt freezing, nausea, constipation, headaches, fallen asleep during the day, light-headedness, head spins, you name it. I had terrible pregnancies health-wise(but final great result so no complaints here) and in pretty rotten menopause for last 8 years so think my body is just not good at tolerance. I’m resolved to stick on v low dose as it’s affecting my work and home life but need to lose the weight as v high BP, cholesterol and I’ll admit, I’m more vain than I thought 🙄so I’ve reconciled myself to a slow “journey” of 4 stone loss to get me into “normal” BMI range. Anyone else in the same boat? I think @Crossfitgirl has decided to stay low?

@chillicheeseandchocolate how much did you manage to get out of the golden dose? I have thought about doing mine as I've still got my pen. Are you on wegovy or MJ?

Yes @TheEgg2 I've stayed on 2.5. I get my next pen delivered tomorrow, and will continue with 2.5. I have found my suppression seems to have been quite high this whole week to be honest so I'm glad I've stuck with the lower dose. I'd have got to the end of this week and regretted it if i had ordered the 5mg. I've just had zero appetite, just feeling quite food averse in general and have struggled to get my protein in.
I took DD to Costa yesterday and got her some food and a drink, and I had nothing! Not even a coffee or a bottle of water as I just did not want anything! This was such a strange, strange thing to happen for me - as normally I'd get something regardless, or start to want something as soon as I got in there.

Hello to new starters, and good luck! My best tip so far is don't compare to others. My losses have been minimal compared to others, however it's the first time I've successfully lost weight intentionally, and I'm losing at a normal rate that you'd expect without the jabs - so it's still very good progress to me. and managed to stay off the sweet treats!

@Crossfitgirlsorry, if it’s a silly question, I have just started my MJ journey. What is a golden dose?

chillicheeseandchocolate · 27/02/2026 20:18

@Crossfitgirl I’m on MJ and I got the full dose of 2.5.
I’m with you, another birthday Colin cake and a huge tin of shortbread at work yesterday and I had no interest in it, unheard of for me as I’m a sugar addict, such a strange feeling.

chillicheeseandchocolate · 27/02/2026 20:33

@Rainboat it’s the leftover liquid once the 4 doses have been taken.

StatisticalStitches · 27/02/2026 23:15

It was so strange to go out with DH last night. I was not fussed that he was having a burger and fries while I had a small chicken salad from the starter menu. Who am I?!

Tempted to step on the scales tomorrow morning for a mid-week weigh in.

Hello 👋 to all the new starters this week.

RedApplePie · 28/02/2026 11:40

Well, week 5 has somewhat unexpectedly kicked my butt 😢. Feeling headachy, a bit nauseous and knackered. I’m glad I did not go up a dose. According to Shotsy I’m at a peak of 3.4 atm so hopefully I’ll feel better later.

That’s what happened to me last week @RedApplePieafter jab 4. Feel fine after jab 5 so far but I’m not convinced I actually jabbed right this time as I counted 30 clicks from a 5mg pen and the plunger didn’t seem to move much 🤷‍♀️

StatisticalStitches · 28/02/2026 15:21

Hope you feel better soon @RedApplePie

RedApplePie · 28/02/2026 15:24

It’s weirds, isn’t it, InstantRegret. I was sure since my fairly minimal side effects had gone that they would come back unless I increased, but here we are 🤢. I’ve made myself go for a decent walk and that’s helped a bit, but I’m back on the iced water diet!

StatisticalStitches · 28/02/2026 16:47

Do you recommend the shotsy app? I've just downloaded it but realised you have to pay for the good bits.

I’m not sure how helpful it is really, but I like data! It talks to nutrachek via Apple Health (and presumably android equivalent), so it keeps all the data in one place. I log any side effects to see patterns and it estimates your levels at any given time. I also record hunger/food noise so it stopped me saying ‘I’m always xyz’ and made me realise a lot of discomfort was actually quite fleeting. It’s certainly not essential though, but I was so scared when I started it was reassuring to think I wouldn’t miss anything.

Helene2019 · 28/02/2026 18:44

Forgot to check in last week. Weekly check-in on 0.25mg wegovy.

Week 1: -3lb
Week 2: +1lb <- yes this can happen
Week 3 -2lb

46lbs to go....

Not sure if I will stick to the current dose or go up.

Cookiedough123 · 28/02/2026 22:36

Is anyone else freezing all the time?? I swear I’m more cold than usual! I’m also struggling with fatigue and tiredness. Not got any get up and go!

Hoping the scales go down tomorrow, they were the same yesterday and went up slightly today. I am due on any day now although possibly all over the place after stopping breastfeeding so I’m wondering if that is also linked to the fatigue!

Not cold over here, but I'm also feeling knackered and haven't even had the energy to workout! Also very headachey and just really lethargic.

I've asked to speak to a clinician for further dietary advice on Voy, because I'm not sure I'm eating enough. I've not felt like eating and have ended up skipping some of my meals or just having a snack instead of a meal, then not being arsed enough to cook or prep so not getting my protein in.

I could well just be knackered due to a very full on and stressful tiring week, solo parenting and working quite a bit over due to various things, and then night wakings with kids though - so I might just need to catch up! I shall however report back on what Voy suggest dietary wise.

I've bought some electrolyte tablets to go in drinks to maybe have in a morning to help me hydrate and see if I perk up too.

Weighed in today at 63.8kg (about 10st) so I've lost nearly half a stone in 4 weeks which I'm ok with. I feel like I've barely eaten this week though, and not really lost since last week - but I'm trying hard to focus on overall health and not just weight!

I have started my second pen of 0.25 wegovy today, glad I haven't moved up a dose yet. I'm sticking with a nice slow steady loss and minimal side effects. Hope I get some energy back next week!

Yes! I used to run hot, and now I'm reaching for a jumper or two most days! Who knows how many unnecessary calories I must've been eating to generate that heat.

Jab 3 done yesterday and I was umming and ahing about whether to go up to 5 or not on my next pen. After sleeping on it, I've decided to order 2.5 again . I've got so much to lose, I don't want to race up the doses and max out too quickly.

ASkarsMissus · 01/03/2026 03:21

Well after 3 weeks of no side effects, they’ve arrived with a vengeance. I took my fourth dose about 5 hours ago and was woken 2 hours ago with excruciating stomach cramps. I’ve been lying on the bathroom floor between bouts of diarrhoea. Absolutely grim, thought I was going to pass out several times, but it seems to be passing a bit. Now I’m shivering under a blanket in the spare room.

I was jabbing on Thursday nights but knew we were going away on Friday so decided to wait til we got home. Paying for the nice meal and cocktails now 😩

Sympathies to anyone else suffering in this way. It’s put me right off ordering another pen.

Asgoodas · 01/03/2026 10:38

Hi, can I join? I had my first injection yesterday and am with SheMed. I need to lose over 4 stone as this weight gain has sapped my mobility and confidence.
my son gets married in September and I’m determined to feel- and look- much better than I do now.
starting weight is 13 stone 10 pounds 😱
goal weight is not set in stone but about 10 would be fantastic.
you lot sound so positive and friendly- just what is needed for this experience. 😊

Perserverancepayoffplease · 01/03/2026 10:41

Did my 4th jab yesterday and weighed n today. Since I started I've lost 9lbs!!! I am absolutely delighted with this!
I feel so much calmer and less crazy around my food choices. It's so much easier to make good, healthy choices. Fucking miracle for me.

Wambamaloomaawambamboo · 01/03/2026 12:23

Jab 4 done and I'm down 11lbs since starting. Happy with that

You poor thing, that’s miserable, hope you feel better now. I had a sudden return of side effects this week also (jab 5, no dose increase) and was shattered yesterday. I do feel much better today though.

RedApplePie · 01/03/2026 12:33

You know, weirdly I feel as if I’m on a drug for anxiety, that has a side effect of weight loss, rather than the other way round. I’m not sure if I’ve got suppression/early satiety even. But the constant, never ending anxiety has just gone. I still feel worried/concerned about things, but in a much more rational way. My head just feels quiet and calm, with the add on benefit of sleeping better. It’s the strangest thing.

Rosetime · 01/03/2026 14:24

Welcome @Asgoodas . I joined recently too.. just before my first injection. Had my 2nd jab 3 days ago.

@ASkarsMissus , so sorry to hear you are not feeling so good. Hope it passes quickly. If the abdominal pain and vomiting continues, seek medical advice?

@RedApplePie , you said exactly what i am also feeling. My brain feels calmer. Anxiety just seems to have melted away. Buying the injections is quite an expensive outlay but even just for that alone i feel it is worth it.

I have lost about 2 kg, not a lot but there are so many other benefits that it feels like a massive win.
I now understand what food noise means, i couldn't understand what it meant and when explained it didn't make sense to me. It was normal (to me) to think about breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, little bites, something (food or snack to eat) to keep me company as i run errands etc.
Now, I don't think about food all the time, I am able to decide on eating a certain amount of food and stick with my decision very easily. Now that i am not so focused on food, I am able to be really present in my life. That really surprised me.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Notellinganyone · 01/03/2026 14:43

I’ve lost 7lbs in two weeks. I took my blood pressure today and two readings were normal and one optimal! It was a blood pressure scare and the desire not to take blood pressure tablets that pushed me , after a year long hesitation, to take Mounjaro. I’m really chuffed. Welcome to all the new people. Side effects are rubbish but for me worth it.

Crossfitgirl · 01/03/2026 15:48

Welcome newbies!

@ASkarsMissus I did jab 5 last night, also no dose increase, and I also had a horrendous stomach upset today x2!
I had a lovely mummy daughter thing booked at a local health studio, and I had to exit for 10 mins in the middle of yoga to sit over the loo in pain! Luckily it passed and I've been ok since then.

I haven't been feeling particularly great at all this week, fingers crossed Voy give me some good advice to help with my general energy levels - I'm currently in a chat with a clinician!

I do have to say, I have taken extra care to drink plenty today and forced down a bit of lunch even when I wasn't hungry and I have felt a bit better so perhaps I just need to be extra vigilant with hydration and make sure I'm not skipping meals!
