February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

4th jab of 2.5mg this morning, stepped on the scales and no weight loss, actually put on half a lb. Really disappointing as I’ve been eating well and lifting weights. Got a 5mg on the fridge but don’t think I’m ready for that yet so might count clicks.

WhoInvitedHer · 20/02/2026 08:57

Ohh this must be a trend. I have put on 0.3kg since yesterday after a week of daily losses. Only on my first week but I kind of got used to seeing little losses every day. I have been religiously calorie counting and hit my calorie target pretty much spot on.

starmoonsun · 20/02/2026 09:02

4th injection this morning here. I can't believe how easy it was compared to the first one which seemed momentous.
Lost 11lb in total which I'm pleased about as diet hasn't been great due life events creeping in and being away ( although did a lot of walking)
Suppression hasn't felt as good this last week (had a few chocolates and biscuits which I didn't fancy at in the first 2 weeks) so going up to 5mg for the next pen, just hope side effects don't kick in as have been ok so far.

Those that aren't losing, don't dispare as it's the long game and I'm sure it'll catch up soon.

Same here - lost every day in first week and then had put on 1.2lbs this morning. Early days though and have been a real sloth this week exercise wise so not going to get too focused on that at this stage. I have found Chat GPTvery useful in organising a schedule for me next week when I’m back at work to minimise side effects and fit in with commuting and school day timings. Anyone recommend any good cookbooks/websites - I’ve been eating a lot of cold chicken this first week. Did second MJ jab last night and feel ok this am so far.

starmoonsun · 20/02/2026 11:38

Also was a bit surprised to see how much was left in the pen after the 4 injections, surely they should be made with the right volume for 4 injections?

Can see why people do the golden dose but definitely not brave enough to try that just yet.

Theringcycle · 20/02/2026 19:01

Hope everyone is feeling ok. I did jab 3 yesterday. I’ve been feeling a bit hungrier today but still ate less than I would normally have done - we came home from a couple of days away and got takeaway and I got a burger and coleslaw and didn’t want chips at all. Im finding I can eat 2 smallish meals a day and maybe 1 snack.

re those not telling others - I discussed with my husband beforehand who is very supportive and interested in seeing how my eating is changed, but a key factor for me starting was that my two closest friends are a few months in. One of them told us she was on it and that spurred the other to start. It’s been great having two real-life friends to message / chat to - hopefully this group can offer the same to those who aren’t talking about it in real life. I told one of my sisters as she works for a pharma company so wouldn’t be weird about it, but not the other who has a weird relationship with food. And not my mum as I would never hear the end of her finding horror stories / conspiracy theories etc and sending them to me.

Castlebark · 20/02/2026 21:03

I've done my second MJ jab today, hopefully I continue to have only minimal side effects.

SW: 122.7 kg (19st 4lb)
CW: 118.8 kg (18st 10lb)

So 3.9 kg loss in my first week (8.6lb). I know this big loss is likely a one-off, so hopefully it'll settle down and become sustainable. It's a little overwhelming how far I've got to go, but I'm so glad I've taken this first step.

This week has ended a little tricky with half term, so out and about today. I couldn't drink as much water as normal as I wasn't guaranteed a loo nearby.

I definitely need to do some more meal planning, as I'm eating similar stuff every day.

It's been mentioned a few times on these boards, but if anyone is looking for more info, I would recommend reading Weightless as it has lots of good tips on WLI. I've listened to it on a free trial of Audible.

princesspeppax · 20/02/2026 22:55

Hope its not to late to join, just braved it and took my first jab this evening. Feel like I’m sitting on edge waiting on side effects to start yet hoping none actually materialise!

I have also had a few sweet treats this week. I'm nearing end of week 3, and I was quite enjoying the suppression and not wanting sweet things, but it has felt harder to avoid this week and I have actually gained a little this week (0.6kg) which has disheartened me.

However, we've been away, and we've mostly eaten out rather than preparing our own food, so it's been quite difficult to stay within calories. Not that I'm counting as such, but I was absolutely shocked at the amount of calories in most pub meals, even the healthier ones! Over 1000 for most of them!!
So maybe my gain isn't too bad haha. Voy has reassured me anyway - for anyone else that has gained, here is Voy's insight in the pics!

I am going to pay for nutracheck and get back on it this week, plan lots of protein, and make sure I get the gym in again.

Has anyone gone up to 5 already yet? I'm eagerly awaiting a report back on side effects as I'm nearly on jab 4 and need to decide whether to increase or stay on 2.5

Hello everyone checking in. Similar frustrations to some others. Lost 5 lbs in week 1 but nothing so far this week. Getting ready for jab 3 on Monday. Feel fine though, definitely feeling less bloated and better in myself. Hoping loss starts again next week. I am eating well but planning to up the water to see if that helps. I have a goal event at the end of June and that is what I am fixing my sights on.

Housenoob · 21/02/2026 09:48

I jabbed on Thursday for first time and scales have actually gone up slightly, but I'm putting that down to being on my period which I totally forgot I was due on. I'm definitely feeling the appetite suppression kicking in. When is the suppression supposed to hit it's peak after a jab?

Luckily no major side effects, I'm a bit tired and constipated but that's fairly normal for me anyway 😂

Helpful screen shot of peak absorption over a 1 week period from my app: (may need to wait for pic to be accepted)

@Crossfitgirl , thanks for that graph. Good to know.

For those that have had more than one dose, if you had side effects with the first jab, did these side effects re-occur with each new jab?
I haven't had any side effects, i think. My tummy has felt bubbly but that's about it. Nothing definite. Wondering if i may get more definite side effects with the next dose? What has been others experience?

There's quite a few useful bits and bobs like that with Voy. I really like their app!
I'll be taking dose 4 today. I had the most side effects with jab 1 (although still very mild). I can only describe it as mild morning sickness type feeling - feeling a touch nauseous, not feeling like eating anything at all, but Rennie's / mints easily made me feel better. I had one bout of diarrhoea, then was fine after that. I think I needed the odd Rennie after meals.

Jabs 2 and 3 I've only had one mild bout of diarrhoea about 48 hours or so after each one, and that's it. Manageable in my opinion.
Side effects have lessened with each one x

Morning all,

Good to read how everyone is getting on and hello to new starters.

I took my 4th injection of 0.25 Wegovy last night and am sitting here having only had a cup of tea so far today. Not very hungry just now.

I weighed in 5 days ago and had lost 10lb in total since starting, weighed in today and am 4lbs up. I've been spotting for a good 10 days or so without a proper period starting so it is either not coming at all or it will suddenly arrive over this weekend. I'm almost 46 so makes sense. Am sure my 4lb gain is down to hormones and water retention as I've been really good, sticking to my cals and logging everything on Nutracheck.

I keep the protein up as much as I can but there is definitely room for improvement. So, as it stands I have a loss of 6lbs and not even at a 'proper' dose yet. Can't really complain!

I start my first 0.5 WG injection next Friday so will be interesting to see how I feel/any side effects develop.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 21/02/2026 12:17

I did my 3rd jab yesterday. Last night I had ready meal lasagne. Oh my god. Not good. Very upset tummy and then heartburn all night. So back to calorie counting and healthy food!

DanaScullysLegoHair · 21/02/2026 12:41

I hope you feel better today @Perserverancepayoffplease!

Diddlydoowap · 21/02/2026 13:54

Can I join in please? I had my first injection 36 hours ago and I feel absolutely no impact at all. No tummy issues or side effects but also no hunger suppression at all. I am really disheartened and feel like I've paid £££ for nothing! I spent all day yesterday over-eating as I thought the effect would kick in any minute and I would enjoy all my usual treats while I still had the appetite - ridiculous I know. Anybody else experience this, or magically have it kick in on day 3?

InstantRegret · 21/02/2026 14:39

@Diddlydoowapit builds up in your system week by week. I’m on week 4 and am not hungry at all. I was definitely still hungry in week 1. Week 2 was a lot better for suppression. Give it time 🙂

Theringcycle · 21/02/2026 14:42

@Diddlydoowap i did notice suppression really soon BUT I also read that 2.5 is an acclimatisation dose really so loads of people don’t experience an effect until they step up so do not be disheartened - we’re all different - the higher doses may be where it’s at for you.

pelagra · 21/02/2026 15:14

Hello, can I join in?
I'm on Wegovy, and took my second jab two days ago. I lost 2.5lb in the week before I started, but only 1.25lb in the ten days since.
After the first jab I had some griping pains in my tummy and a bit of constipation, but now absolutely no effects at all and I'm HUNGRY.
I wonder is this is going to be worthwhile?

sanityisamyth · 21/02/2026 18:08

Hey! Can I join in? After a week of poorly fitting close and gentle exercise which left me more out of breath than I’d have liked, I took the plunge and saw a pharmacist this morning who prescribed Mounjaro. I knew my weight wasn’t great (don’t own any scales but clothes kept getting tighter!) but she weighed me (fully clothed and booted) at 146kg which really frightened me.

Had my first 2.5mg injection this evening so I’m looking forward to seeing if it helps.

I have an allergy to tomato which makes food really hard (all Italian, Indian and Chinese is pretty much out) but I’m going to try to look at diet to increase protein and hopefully stop the snacking and takeaways.

I'm sure it will kick in after a couple more jabs. I recall being REALLY hungry in week 2. Try keep on top of water and plenty of protein to keep you full.

Black coffee to help with hunger pangs and the constipation?

Good luck!

InstantRegret · 21/02/2026 18:24

Welcome new starters 👋🏻 Well done for starting your journey 🙌🏻

So it got to 5pm and I realised I hadn’t eaten at all 😳 and had only had around 1l of water 🤦‍♀️
I’ve been busy running errands and just forgot to eat?! I’ve heard people say this before and wondered how on earth you can forget to eat but apparently it’s a thing!
Anyway, feeling super rough this evening, bad headache and nausea 🤢 Probably due to the aforementioned lack of food and drink but possibly because the jab is at its peak for me today. I’ve just made myself some dinner but can’t face it 😕
Very apprehensive about my first 5mg jab next week now because if it feels like this or worse I don’t want it 😳

Cookiedough123 · 21/02/2026 20:27

Hello. I’ve had an ok few days. Still managing to say no to stuff which is good. I weigh daily and have gone down 4.4lb since Wednesday. Today I’ve only really had one big meal and managed to have no snacks. I went to parkrun this morning and actually was a minute slower than usual which I was surprised at but I am feeling a bit lethargic and my legs didn’t want to work. Don’t know if anyone else had the lovely sunshine this morning but it made me think of how I want to be comfortable in my summer clothes and not hanging out of everything and self conscious of what I have on so I am glad I have started now!
