February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

Well week 1 is proving interesting. Anyone else feel constipated on WG this quickly? I’m so used to being very regular and I’ve not been on my usual timetable.

Just 6 days in and the food noise is definitely less. I actually want to eat healthy foods and smaller portions. Was out today and had a half baguette from Pret with a berry smoothie and felt very full. Normally I’d have a whole baguette, crisps, fizzy juice and something sweet!

I'm on week 3 of 0.25 WG and I have gone more sluggish than usual. I am also very regular and this was one of my biggest fears as not going before leaving the house makes me feel grumpy and horrible all day!

I've been trying to remedy this with water, and a triple espresso, swiftly followed by more coffee first thing! It certainly gets things moving but takes twice as long AND I've noticed my movements are smaller 🤔

Are you drinking enough water? I think this really does help. Chia seeds and as much veg as you can manage I guess?

As an aside, DP and I are having Planthood meals. They are quite protein and fibre rich and the 'set' size of them really helps plan my calorie intake on Nutracheck. Whenever there is rice as part of the meal, we just have cauliflower rice instead. I'd just stick with them forever but ££££!

Can anyone recommend another good subscription box? Tried Hello Fresh and Green Chef in the past but Planthood is by far the best.

I’m a lawyer and that is actually a criminal offence if your husband is suppling you with a prescription medicine which was prescribed for him …. I may be misunderstanding your post but if that is what you are doing you shouldn’t do it and also shouldn’t say you are doing it on a public forum! He is also committing fraud if he is lying to get 2 lots of the medication.

This isn't AIBU

Beekman · 17/02/2026 20:34

cupfinalchaos · 17/02/2026 12:32

But what damage is it going to do to me? I’m not going to lose too much, I’ll do strength training and will up my protein. I’ll be able to get into my jeans again so who is it harming?

Taking medication that was not prescribed for you is generally not the best idea but yeah, if you think it’s fine then alright. What about the lying to get two prescriptions though? Is that alright?

Yes, it is alright. It isn’t harming anyone whatsoever. Were it in short supply it would be another matter. There seems more wrath directed my way than at people fraudulently claiming benefits. Doesn’t surprise me.

Well I would also point out to someone posting on here that they were fraudently claiming benefits that it is a criminal offence 🤷‍♀️ if you are happy breaking the law then it’s your risk - but don’t then judge other people who also are as you are no better than them in the eyes of the law.

Beekman · 17/02/2026 21:15

What has benefit fraud got to do with anything?

If you think it’s all fine then ok.

soupmaker · 17/02/2026 21:40

@DanaScullysLegoHair I think I drink loads (mostly herbal tea and water) but actually I’m going to have to up my game I think.

I try to avoid coffee as it tends to go right through me and then I’m worried if I’m not at home IYKWIM. However was out for dinner this evening and had an iced americano instead of a pudding and that’s sorted me out.

Operation drink an extra litre of water from tomorrow to see if that helps. I already have chia seeds in porridge and eat at least 8 of 5 a day mostly as veg. Good shout on the cauliflower rice BTW. I need to get some for the freezer so I can have it instead of rice.

DanaScullysLegoHair · 17/02/2026 22:01

Sounds as if you have it all under control @soupmaker, it could well be an adjustment period. Glad the iced Americano sorted you out.

We got a new bean to cup machine recently and I've been making full use of it since going on WG. I'm not even a big coffee fan but am happy to knock them back to grease the wheels 🤣

Cauli rice is a game-changer isn't it? You don't even notice it after a while. I find the Asda frozen one is good and I prefer to cook it in a pan with a scrap of water and spray of oil. It stays much firmer instead of being a mushy mess.

Hope you get into a new, regular routine very soon!

Cookiedough123 · 18/02/2026 07:28

Morning! I did my first 0.25 jab yesterday! I’ve been thinking about it and just bit the bullet and ordered it on Asda and collected the same day! I’m also not telling anyone including DP he’s a massive worrier and worrys about health stuff. Also my mum.. she is like why can’t people just eat less and choose better choices… says the one who finds that easy and is a size 10!!

I’ve always yo yoed up and down. I had a baby 8 months ago and also have a 3 year old. I lost 2.5 at between them by fasting but I’m on such a downward spiral with food currently I needed a kickstart. Once I start something I’m usually good at sticking to it so I’m going to try the first pen and see if that starts me off and then decide if I need to order a second pen.

I dont go to the gym but I run between 4-6 miles 3x a week. I jabbed at 4pm yesterday and felt a bit sick last night but that could be because all I ate was chocolate and crap till the point I jabbed!

TwoNicePuppies · 18/02/2026 07:48

Has anyone else been told they need to wait until after jab 4 to order pen 2? Hubby lost 3.5lb 1st wk but put 2lb on 2nd, he’s feeling no suppression or side effects so I tried to order 5mg yesterday (jab 3was on Sun & we go on hol on Fri) but they insisted we wait so that he can decide if he wants to stay on 2.5 or move up! It’ll mean he has no pen for hol which I explained & they said we should order a 2.5 in that case!

TheEgg2 · 18/02/2026 08:05

Is anybody planning on changing from Mounjaro to Wegovy? I’m doing it for financial reasons. My side effects with MJ have been feeling sick, faint and absolutely freezing cold that has affected my sleep quite badly. Suppression has been good and looks like I’m on track to lose 6lbs in first two weeks. Also changing from Boots to Asda as haven’t had my advantage points and App doesn’t work. Any thoughts from Wegovy users?

Notellinganyone · 18/02/2026 09:10

On day 6 post first jab and feel full of beans today. It’s such a rollercoaster. On day 4/5 I was thinking I wouldn’t take the second jab I felt so grim. I’ve lost 5lbs so far which is miraculous for me although I’m aware that will slow down massively. I am thinking that I might jab Thursday night this week rather than Friday morning to shift worst side effects before work next week. Anyone else done that? Have also done no exercise as have felt so shit so need to start moving.

WhoInvitedHer · 18/02/2026 14:16

I started on Wegovey 5 days ago thinking I could swap over if needed but so far touch wood no side effects except feeling tired but only back a week from a long haul holiday so that might have contributed. Have lost 1.5kg so far and that’s amazing for me just worried it’s almost too much. So maybe swapping over is an option for anyone suffering side effects on Monjaro or if the cost is an issue

Housenoob · 18/02/2026 14:26

Hi, hoping I can join. My first MJorder is on it's way! Excited but very nervous. Any tips welcomed eg what's the best day/time of day to jab? Anything I can do to prepare my body for the first one other than hydrating? I'm slightly worried as I'm also on Sertraline which tends to make me feel a little lightheaded if I'm tired so I'm worried MJ will really exacerbate this.

Cookiedough123 · 18/02/2026 14:49

I’m not even 24 hours in and I definitely feel like it’s suppressing my appetite already. The only way I can describe it is that full sicky indigestion feeling where I have a lump in the back of my throat all the time. If someone put a cake in front of me I don’t think I’d say no but I feel like it wouldn’t fit in my tummy. All I’ve had today is a sandwich and I do feel really full. On the other hand though I feel really tired and lethargic and I can’t even be bothered going for a walk which is not like me.

Crossfitgirl · 18/02/2026 16:10

Welcome to the newbies!
@Housenoob the jab doesn't work instantly, it takes 1-3 days for peak absorption to take effect so I wouldn't say there's anything you need to do to prepare, but yes staying hydrated and avoiding big meals could definitely help. Make sure you drink plenty as it suppresses thirst as well as appetite.

I also take sertraline, and I was worried they may interact somehow, or that it would slow down absorption of my sertraline and cause withdrawal symptoms. I did get a bad headache at about 48 hours, but I think it was related to caffeine withdrawal as several cups of tea sorted me out (the suppression meant I hadn't fancied my usual cuppas!). And tbh besides after the very first jab, I've not really had any major side effects. The odd loose poo, but only on one occasion for each jab and that's it.
It's actually helped my anxiety and focus a bit more because I've not been distracted about food / worried about what I'm eating etc.
I have only jabbed on a night time just before bed, but I'd recommend looking at what you're doing 48-72 hours after and time it so that you can plan for any potential side effects. For example doing it on a Thurs or Friday may allow for side effects to subside before the working week.

Hi, all.
Hoping it's not too late to join. Ordered my MJ pen 3 days ago with Pharmica. I was excited but now having a bit of dread..! Does the injection hurt?
I used to walk/jog about 2 - 3 times a week but have totally lost whatever zeal i had to be more active.. 18months and counting. Hoping to change things around.

wlinewbie26 · 18/02/2026 16:41

I’m on wk2 day 2 … and I weigh more now than at the end of wk1.

I haven’t eaten badly and I’ve been tracking my food intake to ensure I’m eating enough protein and calories.

I know it’s likely to be water or something else like this but it’s so frustrating - has anyone else experienced this?

A plus point is that this is where I would usually flounder and fall back into bad habits but as I'm not hungry and have no food noise I’m just carrying on. Hopefully, the scales will move soon (I appreciate it isn’t all about the scales but a downward scale does make me feel like it’s all worth it)!

I couldn’t feel it to the point that I wondered if I actually had but not hungry from the next day and I have a huge appetite normally so I must have injected it😀

Cookiedough123 · 18/02/2026 17:02

@Rosetime i didn’t feel it either! I was rushing to do it cos I had my kids in the car and they were nagging me so didn’t give me time to overthink it and just jabbed myself in the thigh

Rosetime · 18/02/2026 17:24

Thank-you @WhoInvitedHer and @Cookiedough123 , thank-you for your replies. I am very poor in handling pain.
This is reassuring.
I just received an email. My MJ pen has been dispatched to arrived this Thursday 19th - Saturday 21st.
Here's to a fruitful weight loss journey.

I read this as 'I used to walk the dog 2/3 times a week' and All I was thinking is the poor dog, Who walks them now?! 😂

Rosetime · 18/02/2026 17:46

😂 that's made me laugh. It does somehow read like that.

DC want a dog badly. I grew up with dogs and would love to have one too. I had been thinking about getting one recently at least i would definitely have to walk it every day. That will cure the 18 month and counting being active drought.

StatisticalStitches · 18/02/2026 21:50

I'm now officially part of the February starters club. Did my first jab of Mounjaro this evening. Have drunk lots of water today in the hope of avoiding side effects 🤞

Teensknowitall · 18/02/2026 22:08

Can I join? Lovely to hear everyone’s stories. Took first wegovy 0.25 injection last Wednesday. Second one today. Lost 1.4 pounds. Am exercising and drinking plenty of water. Couple of headaches but no major side effects. Have just looked on medexpress ( where I bought from) and think my next dose which I can order from 23 February will go up in price. Anyone know a way to get it cheaper? First order was a discounted order as first one.
