February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

That sounds nice @RedApplePie will have to pop to M&S to give it a try soon.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 16/02/2026 21:15

I didn't inject when due on Sunday as was flying out on a European city break and didn't want side effects. Am still feeling suppression though....able to go much longer without wating than normal and am eating smaller amounts. ( unhealthier stuff though😳)
Am going to top up on Friday

Wambamaloomaawambamboo · 16/02/2026 22:30

Does anyone get episodes of dizzyness and being lightheaded? Ive had it twice today with a burning pain in my chest which I'm hoping is indegestion. Day 3 after 2nd jab

cupfinalchaos · 16/02/2026 22:45

Late 50’s and did my first jab today along with dh. He needs to lose 2 stone whereas I only need to lose 8/9lb. Hopeing to wean myself off very gradually once I have lost it so I don’t find it again!

Sorry for being that person but If youve only got 8-9lbs to lose why are you taking WLI and how did you manage to get hold of them??! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn’t even bother for 2 stone, let alone 8/9lbs.

I know everyone’s struggle is different but come on. Whoever prescribed them to you wants their ability to do so removed.

RedApplePie · 17/02/2026 07:07

I’ve squeaked out of the obese BMI at 29.8! I can’t quite believe that already. I moved the scale to three different places just to be sure.

Crossfitgirl · 17/02/2026 12:04

I will struggle to keep up with everyone as I'm currently away on holiday for the week, but I'd like to update some wins regarding eating out / holiday food!
We went for a pub lunch, and I got away with ordering a light bite (fishcake with peas, cake in a tiny single bowl) and instead of chips, I ordered a side of green veg and I actually enjoyed it! I know I will feel like shit ordering fried carbs, so actually WANTED to order the veg. Very pleased with this as usually I would "fancy" chips but I really didn't.

Tonight we plan to get takeaway pizza - and I've already told DH I may purchase something healthier from the shop for me to have.

I'm really struggling on the protein front, but I think I'll just have to lump it for this week as we are going with the flow food wise. Jackets with cheese and beans for lunch as we brought a load of potatoes with us that would have gone off otherwise!

I've also very easily said no to any cakes or buns when we visited the coffee shop. I just don't want them! I did have a mocha, rather than a coffee. But that was enough.

Week 3 and suppression feels a good, manageable level and I've not really had any side effects except for one single bout of loose stools about 48 hours in, the same as the last 2 injections.

Good luck to anyone else starting, and those continuing to week 3/4!

No judgement from me to those with only a little to lose - it's not of my concern as to the how / why, I made this thread for shared experiences and support. Good luck whatever your circumstances :-)

That’s ok🤣 It may not sound like a lot but I’ve been trying for more than a year.. I only plan to be on for 6 months then wean myself off gradually. My dh (who undoubtedly needs it) got it online and he also went to our private doctor who prescribed it for him.. so that’s how we have two lots.

But what damage is it going to do to me? I’m not going to lose too much, I’ll do strength training and will up my protein. I’ll be able to get into my jeans again so who is it harming?

I've lost 7lbs in my first week and i don't have a lot too lose so you might find you don't need it as long. Good luck

Wow! I don’t think I could lose that in a week even if I ate nothing. I’m more worried about when I come off it.

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 17/02/2026 13:41

Hi everyone, my first pen is due to be delivered today and I'm feeling nervous but excited to get started! I'm currently 14 stone 7 pounds so would love to lose 4 stone but it will depend on how long I can afford it.
Can anyone give any tips?
What time of day do you inject?
What location did you choose and have you found it makes a difference to move sites?
Any tips on upping protein? I'm wondering about clear whey protein as I'm also terrible at drinking enough.
My husband is reluctantly supportive. He knows how miserable I am but still wishes I could lose without the injection. He also has no issues with my body at all but wants me to be happy.

Fullofpudding · 17/02/2026 13:44

@Yorkshireteaalwayswins this was me 3 weeks ago but I’m now 9lbs down and my husband says he can see how much happier I am. I inject at night before bed and in my stomach. I’ve not had food suppression as such but definitely don’t snack inbetween and I’m drinking loads. Protein wise I’m trying to up it with just having more eggs, chicken etc for my meals. I’m going to go up to the 5mg pen for my next order. Good luck.

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 17/02/2026 13:48

Thanks @Fullofpudding Im hoping to get rid of the food noise as that really gets to me but I know that 2.5mg is just a starting dose so this may not happen for a while. Fingers crossed!

You'll be surprised. I have been eating, I've basically just cut out the junk food and drank what feels like gallons upon gallons of water, I dont expect to lose that every week obviously but its a very decent start and spurs me too keep going even though the side effects have been tough going

I’m so pleased for you, that is indeed an excellent start. It’s very rare that I’m hungry (apart from last week when skiing).. I usually eat mindlessly, so I’m not sure it’ll work for me but excited to give it a go.

Notellinganyone · 17/02/2026 15:02

@Wambamaloomaawambamboo - I’m only5 days in and have found the side effects tough. What have yours been? I’ve had really painful stomach pains/tiredness/diarrhoea. Felling pretty miserable and worried about dose 2 on Friday.

Basically the same as you but constipation, the tiredness is off the scale and stomach/chest pains have been awful. Yestarday my legs were so weak and I was really light headed I thought I was about to faint. I keep questioning whether or not I can keep going on feeling like this but decided I'll finish the pen and hopefully the side effects get better every jab

Notellinganyone · 17/02/2026 15:20

@Wambamaloomaawambamboo rubbish for you but glad I’m not alone. I’m hoping it will improve- especially as I’m back at work next week.

Theringcycle · 17/02/2026 16:49

@Crossfitgirl well done on your food choice victory! I have also found myself wanting veg more than carbs (possibly because carbs make me feel unwell on this) - we had a roast at the weekend and I had just a couple of small potatoes and didn’t want anymore but did want more veg. I’m going out for dinner tomorrow night and am interested to see what I feel like when I have the menu in my hands - I am used to feeling drawn to “go big” to make sure I have plenty of food; I’m looking forward to being led more by what I want to taste rather than what will give me a big meal.

soupmaker · 17/02/2026 17:01

Well week 1 is proving interesting. Anyone else feel constipated on WG this quickly? I’m so used to being very regular and I’ve not been on my usual timetable.

Just 6 days in and the food noise is definitely less. I actually want to eat healthy foods and smaller portions. Was out today and had a half baguette from Pret with a berry smoothie and felt very full. Normally I’d have a whole baguette, crisps, fizzy juice and something sweet!

I’m a lawyer and that is actually a criminal offence if your husband is suppling you with a prescription medicine which was prescribed for him …. I may be misunderstanding your post but if that is what you are doing you shouldn’t do it and also shouldn’t say you are doing it on a public forum! He is also committing fraud if he is lying to get 2 lots of the medication.
