Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

Week 3 update. Wegovy jab 3 done last night so I'm day 1 of week 3 now.

Appetite suppression seemed to stay much more consistent towards the end of week 2, and for the first time I jabbed no.3 without hesitation this time!
I don't think this jab will have kicked in yet, but I've only managed to eat half my bowl of porridge this morning and I feel super full.

I'm leaning towards staying on 2.5 for next month at this point, but I have a couple more weeks to go.
I've lost about 3kg in the first 2 weeks.
I've missed the gym completely this week due to lack of sleep (poorly child) but we are away over half term so I am going to plan to use the gym where we're staying at least once.

I'm quite worried about losing muscle mass, as I don't want to look "skinny fat", so I'm intent on continuing with my strength training.

Would anyone please be my accountability for exercise this week? My aim is twice a week strength training, but I really need to prioritise it this week as I think it might be difficult to stick to my protein goals while we're away!

I’ve been weight training three times a week as I’m terrified of a lot of muscle loss. I’m quite serious about the gym and do lift heavy so it’s not new to me, but I have felt a bit under-fuelled on occasion over the last week and more tired than usual.

RedApplePie · 15/02/2026 08:26

I’m also struggling to meet my protein goals. To meet them, I almost feel I can’t eat anything else and stay in a good deficit.

wlinewbie26 · 15/02/2026 09:14

I’m almost through my first week now - my second jab is tomorrow.

I have found this week to be so much easier than my traditional dieting. I am no longer staring at treats, rooting though the snack cupboard etc. it just doesn’t cross my mind to do it. I have been hungry later in the day but I’ve eaten a meal and it’s been fine.

It has made me wonder how slim people stay slim? I’m eating 1500-1600 calories and there isn’t any room for treats really!

I have lost 2.7kg this week which I know is just my body resetting itself so will most likely normalise next week!

I can’t wait to see what happens!

ps I don’t think I have had any side effects - I have been tired but this may just be children related! I can’t tell though!

RedApplePie · 15/02/2026 09:46

I weighed this morning also. 8.8 lbs (I think that’s 4kg) in just over two weeks (took third jab of MJ on Friday). I’m now only 0.3 parts obese 😀. I still get hungry for meals and satiety doesn’t come till after a meal is finished so I need to be careful at the table. I’m not experiencing the effect of pushing a half-full plate away so I can end up feeling very uncomfortably full. However the constant food chatter has gone and the constant ticker tape of anxious self talk that runs through my brain 24/7 has reduced enormously. An unexpected side effect that I’m very grateful for. Life is shit atm and suddenly this drug is giving me breathing space.

Has anyone got any advice re weights exercises. I am a total newbie and can’t really get to a gym owing to long commute so something I can do at home that’s easy to follow. I’m on day 3 post first jab and am v tired and fir the first time today not feeling hungry at all.

Start with easy body weight exercises - press ups (on knees / modified to start), squats, walking lunges, tricep dips on a chair or something, crunches or planks, standing heel raises, and single leg bridging for your bum!

You can search YouTube for basic no equipment strength training and I'm sure it will come up with loads of workouts to try. Put in a time limit (I usually do 30 mins if I'm at home as I get bored!) and you'll be able to choose if you want full body, or just upper body / lower body / abs etc.

I have got an app called "Hevy" and it has a few pre-made basic workouts on the free version that you can follow - the ones I've done do need weights but I think there may have been a no equipment one.

Approx 72 hours after jab 3 and the suppression is high!! Feels like morning sickness. I think I’m hungry but then I can barely eat. I’ll prob stay on 2.5mg for my next pen if this continues 🤔

DanaScullysLegoHair · 15/02/2026 15:25

Hello all,

I took my 3rd dose of 0.25 Wegovy on Friday, just weighed in today and I've lost a total of 8lb since starting. That's 13st 3lb, down to 12st 9lb.

I have definitely been eating slowly and not been bothered about snacking. Been diligent with calorie counting and logging stuff on Nutracheck.

Not really exercising deliberately at the moment but getting lots of walking in (10k plus most days). Just looked in the mirror to see if I could see any difference in shape and I actually think I look worse! I do have some kettlebells so will gee up and start a workout plan to tone up.

I have a holiday in the middle of May and want to feel good in my clothes. I've done the 30 Day Shred Before - wonder if that is too extreme or the perfect idea! 🤣

Chat gpt is your friend here. Say what weights you have/other exercises your able to do eg walking and how often you have spare. Your weight, ideal weight. As much info as possible- any injuries etc and ask it to do you a workout plan

I'm about 60 hours after 2nd jag and the hunger suppression isn't as strong. Is this normal?

I'm sure the second day after my 2nd jab I was really hungry! It actually seemed to gradually get stronger then as this week has gone on, and has remained so after jab 3. Though I'm yet to hit peak absorption - so I'm a bit anxious about tomorrow as we're going on holiday, although it's only just over an hour away so not too bad!

Almost a week in with the Wegovy tablets. Appetite suppression is high, food noise has gone and my main worry is eating enough, which for me is absolutely amazing.

I had a small headache and felt slightly nauseous on the morning of day 2 but that soon went away. The only side effect I have had is constipation but that seems to have resolved itself for now.

Taking a daily tablet is no bother at all. Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow.

Pinkchilli · 15/02/2026 22:11

I have taken the plunge tonight first injection! Start weigh 13.4 height 165cm, early 40s. Nervous for the journey but hoping to shift some of this weight to get into a healthy bmi so just shy of 3st to do so.

StatisticalStitches · 15/02/2026 22:38

Happy to log my weight sessions here to help keep myself and you accountable @Crossfitgirlalthough I'm not injecting till Wednesday, I thought I'd make a start tomorrow on the weights, trying to do Mon, Wed, Fri at least to maintain/build more muscle 🤞

Anyone found any good meal plan lists? I've been looking on Pinterest for meal inspiration so far.

Almost identical stats to me. Are you on WG or MJ?

Good luck!

Same, I took my 3rd injection on Friday. Been lucky with just a headache in the first few days after the first one.

I feel ready to move up a dose now. Last 0.25 this coming Friday, then 0.5 the following week.

Fingers crossed no side effects.

Same goes for everyone! So glad to have somewhere to share the highs and lows.

Notellinganyone · 16/02/2026 10:07

Had a terrible night last night. Was feeling fine apart from some eggy burps but I think - in the cold light if day it was really bad trapped wind. Was lying on bathroom floor in a cold sweat for 20 minutes before I could drag myself back to bed. Anyone else had this? I had Sal mon broccoli and a largish potato last night. Maybe I need smaller meals. Getting a bit panicky about this time next week as back to school and don’t think I’d have been able to go in today. This was about 60 hours post first jab.

DiscFunctional · 16/02/2026 10:10

Can I join too? First mounjaro injection yesterday. Want to lose 40kg

Theringcycle · 16/02/2026 10:55

Morning all. @Notellinganyone I haven’t had that on Mounjaro but it does sound a bit like when my blood sugar is low - the coldness, exhaustion - it takes me by surprise a bit and I don’t tend to realise that’s what it is until afterwards. I do have diabetes (t2) so may be more vulnerable to blood sugar ups and downs than you.

WhoInvitedHer · 16/02/2026 12:24

Really struggling to eat enough protein and fibre. In order to meet my protein target I think would have to eat fish and or chicken twice a day. Even protein powder doesn’t make much of a dent. Same with fibre. Put that together with not wanting to eat much it seems really hard. Doing ok with calories, carbs, sugar etc, 5 fruit and veg a day

Castlebark · 16/02/2026 17:05

Hello, new joiner as I took my first MJ shot on Friday.

Wow, it feels like a miracle drug, but I can tell the effects are already waning on day 4.

I have managed to lose 2.9kg (6lbs) in the first 3 days. I've got loads to lose, so knew I'd likely have a strong start, along with the usual water weight etc. I also probably put most of that on just in the last 2 weeks, having "one last treat or one last naughty meal" several times!

No real side effects yet, which is great. However like you, @WhoInvitedHer, I'm struggling to hit protein and fibre goals. I'm doing fine with water, which I have not managed in previous dieting attempts.

RedApplePie · 16/02/2026 19:58

I’ve just had this for dinner. I don’t usually buy ready meals but this was lovely and I actually felt I’d had a proper meal for the first time in three weeks. Didn’t over face me but at the same time lots of flavour and texture. Image may take a min to appear.

Ahh, good call @RedApplePie, I had forgotten they did those meals. Good to know they're decent, seen them reduced a few times so might be good to pick a few up. if freezable.
