Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

So I bought a 15mg pen ahead of schedule today because I am hoping it will still have the golden dose.

IF (big if) I can keep at a 5-7mg dose I can make my stockpile last until October when hopefully I’ll be at or close to goal.

In the meantime I’m going to join Oushk as apparently they’ll let you take long breaks between buying a pen without charging a fee, provided you explain why eg stockpile.

If this plan works, I’ve worked out it’ll have cost me £25 per week by October, which isn’t too shabby I think.

PS happy Mother’s Day! Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend ?

Springbaby2023 · 15/03/2026 20:03

I’ve had two days of complete indulgence! My calories have been maintenance and more. I clearly need to go up a dose as by the end of the week I’m just basically eating normally. But at the same time I never planned to be on this longer term so trying to work out what to do for the best. I did do tonnes of exercise yesterday so hoping it won’t impact things too much but it is frustrating. I have two weeks left of 7.5, plus golden dose if I get round to ordering syringes, so not a huge need to decide sooner rather than later but equally in the sort of person who needs a plan.

Trying not to beat myself up as it’s been a lovely Mother’s Day and my DS would have been most offended if I’d have turned down his burnt pancakes in bed this morning. Hope everyone has had a good day.

I have had a weekend of eating out/not counting but don't think I have had too much, certainly not compared to what I would have done pre jabs. Definitely not eaten the right things but had a lovely katsu curry in wagamamas Friday.

I havent taken my dose yet which was due today, 5mg was a bit much so back down to 3.75 tomorrow. Strangely have lost exactly 2.43lbs a week this last 2 weeks after losing less for a while now.

Exercise regime starts tomorrow to get my butt back and tone up arms and legs!! Weights are out ready and I'm off work so no excuse!!

user593 · 16/03/2026 09:45

I took my shot on Saturday and had a decent lunch on Sunday, followed by a decent dinner. Sulphur burps are back 😮‍💨 My fault though. OMAD works much better for me but I struggle with social situations when I’m expected to eat and DP can be a bit annoying trying to make me eat when I don’t want to (even though he himself is on Wegovy!).

Half my family are on the jabs or on a health kick so luckily no issues like that, DH just grumpy about it and wont discuss it!! On the other hand the issues around me not drinking are causing so many issues as people cannot let it be! I feel like telling them I'm an alcoholic and cant drink, but then I do want the odd drink so that wont work 😂

user593 · 16/03/2026 11:01

@SexyFrenchDepression Oh dear! Thankfully I gave up drinking a long time ago so no one comes after me for that. It’s not a hard and fast rule I just realised drinking doesn’t suit me, it makes me depressed. Normally I would have planned it better and skipped lunch in favour of dinner (which is when the social pressure was). I’ll do better next time as these sulphur burps are horrible!

I had a 3 day migraine in October after a heavy weekend so pretty much stopped then, now I just feel so good at weekends so dont fancy starting. Plus I have no filter and dont know when to stop so basically have either 1 or 2, or 15 (not that often but I get carried away with the fun 🙈😂).

I thought I was needing to up dose towards the end of last week - suppression had waned a bit & I was craving chocolate again.

Did my penultimate 7.5 jab of this month yesterday & did eat a couple of treats afterwards. Eurgh - I paid for it overnight, feeling so poorly!! If someone had offered to swap the weight loss for feeling better, I would have jumped at the chance.

Luckily it was short lived, and I felt better this morning - although the sulphur burps are back for me too!

I've now hit 3 stone loss - although I genuinely don't quite believe it, as I don't feel hugely different. I am now 9stone 8 - so it should really be showing. A couple of people have commented, but I am still waiting for the confidence to follow. I feel I need a full makeover now

Have you taken photos? I have found it really helps. I also did a clear out today of my whole wardrobe and took a photo in a pair of jeans I was given before I started the jabs and they were too tight for me to wear comfortably and only ok with baggy jumper. I will see if I can attach the picture here, I have lost 3 stone also so will be a similar difference.

Do you think these days people are too polite to comment on weight loss? I know I’ve been unsure on whether to say anything if I see a school mum who has lost weight, tend to weight until they bring it up themselves. Although a friend has lost two stone on slimming world recently and I can’t tell, they can as have gone down a dress size. Maybe it’s because people don’t pay as much attention to each other as we think, we are all too busy worrying about ourselves.

I’m still wondering what jab to get next. I swing from upping my dose, to staying the same, to tapering, within a few hours. Part of my inner battle is what we are still undecided on whether to have another child one day an I’m not getting any younger so I want to be clear of the jabs for a bit in case we decide to go for it, it’s definitely clouding my decisions a bit.

Chuffed to put my new Mother’s Day PJs on tonight though, size 12 - 14 and if anything a bit too baggy.

I met up with a friend at the weekend and shes lost 5 stone since I saw her, I felt awkward and wasnt sure whether to say anything as i do think generally people are more aware and polite. We ended up talking about it and she was on the jabs too. But yes I agree also that I dont think people pay that much attention and dont notice for at least 2 stone minimum.

Its hard to decide re doses isnt it. I am 1 days late with mine now as had the 5mg but will jab tomorrow now as not so keen on doing it in the evening after food and I forgot this morning.

SexyFrenchDepression · 16/03/2026 22:29

Oh my, that should say she has lost 5 stone since I last saw her, obv not since I saw her at the weekend 😂 and I'm 2 days late with Jab 🙈

user593 · 17/03/2026 08:47

I’m still feeling a bit crap. I’m surprised by how much it’s knocked me as I really didn’t overeat that much. The plus side is I’ve lost 1kg/2.2lbs since Friday. My average has been creeping back up these last few weeks and I’m back to 1.4kg/3lbs a week, which would mean I’d hit goal almost exactly a year after I started, although I’m sure it will slow down again!

TaffyTabby · 17/03/2026 09:41

Good morning everyone! Beautiful sunny day here but we will be at home today as one of mine has woke with fever.

I think I’m going to drop my dose a little bit. I have plans to start weight training as I’ve been feeling quite weak. I think I’m not earing enough, especially the first three days after jab.

Already did a little session and have muscle aches today!

I don’t mind if loss slows down, I want to try and preserve muscle better. Much easier to preserve than build it later!

Also I am liking the weight I’m at now and I plan on being on the meds long term so I guess it won’t hurt to take my time!

@SexyFrenchDepression look at that gap! Amazing progress.

I think people are more careful about comments now. I can’t think anyone would be offended if you told them they’re looking amazing though??

A colleague of mine has lost a lot of weight (probs 5 stone) and I said “you’re looking well!” When I saw her at a conference and she laughed because I was the fifth person to say she looked “well” that day 😂

Its so hard to know what to say, I think people are extra careful (unless are close friends) to not relate weightloss with looking great also.

Yeah I am pleased with progress, gone from very tight size 12s (probably a 13 really if it fitted well) to size 8. I cleared out so many clothes, it was fantastic as I can see what I have now and actually wear stuff that was squashed in my wardrobe as I had too much.

3lb a week still at this stage is brilliant!

Springbaby2023 · 17/03/2026 14:01

I think I’m going to bite the bullet and order a 10mg pen… put on two lb the last couple of days 🙈 I know they will disappear within a couple of days but I’m definitely noticing my appetite increase even on days after the jab. Part of me feels like MJ maybe just isn’t for me if this is happening, but then it has worked, just not at the pace of others. Had really hoped to begin to taper off soon but I feel like it’s going to take me longer than I thought to get to my original target weight.

I was reading a thread the other day where several people were saying they didnt even get any suppression until 10mg. You have had good progress so far on the other doses. I feel like it is better to go as high as you need to lose the weight then can worry about how to manage with willpower/no MJ once in maintenance as it can be a slow process to come off it and then adjust. Its so hard in a deficit as its inevitable you'll be hungry as its less calories than your body needs.

Springbaby2023 · 17/03/2026 16:06

Yeah I think part of the issue is getting used to a lower TDEE as well now I weigh less! I’m going to order 10 and can always take smaller doses if I don’t fancy it when it’s here.

OP posts:
TaffyTabby · 17/03/2026 16:14

Yes good point re TDEE and losing always being harder because you’re sort of fighting with your body in a way, it doesn’t want to let go of its precious stores.

I’ve also seen people who haven’t got any suppression until 10mg +

SexyFrenchDepression · 17/03/2026 21:12

I was shocked at how much I had to reduce calories as I lost weight, I was originally losing at around 1400/1500 and now I am on under 1000 and thats a lesser deficit than before. I am just hoping to increase gradually once I am wanting to maintain so I feel like I am getting a decent amount of food rather than starving myself. I am actually dreading it! Its easier to focus when wanting to lose.

EducatingRosemary · 17/03/2026 21:18

Just had a bit of a lightbulb moment reading recent posts!

I’ve lost weight steadily each week since starting the jabs. A couple of weeks ago I messed up my dosage and at the same time stopped losing. I’ve not lost since.

I’ve not eaten any more or any less than all my other weeks. BUT I’ve just realised I must have reached the weight where this is now my maintenance amount of calories.

The dosage mess up was a red herring as it didn’t alter my calorie intake.

i don’t have the capacity to cut back further on the calories and don’t really want to either. I’m 5.5lbs (2.4kg) off my target but that was my an arbitrary target for a buffer. If I stick here or lose a few more libs over a very long period of time I think I’m good with that. I am going to stay on the jabs definitely through the Summer anyway.

TaffyTabby · 18/03/2026 06:17

I have a friend who started wegovy at the exact same time as me and she’s lost 4lb more than me. She is tall though.
Makes me wonder if I should have tried wegovy first!

Springbaby2023 · 18/03/2026 10:44

@EducatingRosemary Yep it will have changed quite a bit probably, can’t remember how much you’ve left. Also noticed my calorie counting app doesn’t automatically reset my daily calorie target despite knowing I’ve lost weight, so I reset it earlier and my calorie target to lose 1lb a week is now 200 calories less than it was. I’m desperate to lose 7lb more but I think that will only be doable on a higher dose as I’ve struggled throughout with eating low calories compared to some people. Will see how I go. I bet you’ll find if you’re staying on it you will still lose, just at a slower rate. It’s harder to see when it’s say 1/4 lb a week but it still adds up to 4lb a month.

I also find some of them set the calories really high compared to others. I find I can tweak stuff a bit to lose calories without feeling more deprived, eg I switched from normal protein shakes to clear protein which is about 150cals less. As I wasnt that hungry it was fine, I felt like I was still having something and also getting protein in but for a lot less cals.
