Morning! Thanks for new thread.

I feel like the time has gone quickly but results have also been quock so far for some many of us November starters! I do wish I had started a month sooner though. I hadn't really considered it till speaking to people I knew well who were on it so that gave me the confidence. However, to go into christmas feeling in control and slimmer is a great feeling!

JustBeach · 21/12/2025 09:22

Thanks for the new thread! I’m due week 7 tonight, and going to drop down to 2.5 due to nausea and not being able to eat.
did anyone watch the short documentary on iplayer about life after weight loss injections ? The stats of amount of people that regained most the weight were shocking. Is anyone planning on staying on them long term? I can’t really afford too but really related to how freeing the feeling of having control over your food intake is. I don’t want to go back so am just going to have to find some self control. I am going to really get in a good routine with eating before I stop, and wean myself off slowly rather than just stopping. Hopefully I will be able to stay on a low dose until I’m at goal. I have 1 more stone to go.

JustBeach · 21/12/2025 09:26

@SexyFrenchDepressionI agree! It’s so freeing! I went to get some Xmas shopping yesterday and picked some crisps I really like , but that was it. I usually would’ve eaten than last night, but didn’t. I’m hoping I have broken some of my bad habits like my weekend crisps and chocolate binges!
Ive lost 18 pounds in 7 weeks ( I think more like 14 given I was very bloated when I started) . It’s absolutely crazy how well this drug works. I used to think it was mad to take it and people were risking their health. I just woke up one day ate my usual biscuits in bed with my coffee and felt sick of myself. Googled them and just bought a pen on a whim! I didn’t really give it much thought other than feeling desperate at the prospect of coming to the end of another year still overweight.

SexyFrenchDepression · 21/12/2025 09:33

@JustBeach I was quite similar, I do make big decisions quite quickly so once I had heard a RL experience I just went and ordered! 7 weeks later 20.5lb down, probably 1.5st to go to get to my lowest weight.

I am not sure re staying on it, I was hoping to reverse diet then come off it but I do love the feeling of never worrying about food so it is tempting to stay on a low dose.

TheP1per · 21/12/2025 09:33

I’m open to staying on them long term. I will probably try to come off at some point due to finances but if I can’t manage then I absolutely will stay on them. I’d try and get down to the minimum dose I could manage on.
I’ve gone back to 2.5mg from 3.75 today. I’ve felt sick all week and finally feel better today. Maybe it’s psychological. I did however lose about 4lb last week so that’s a big loss. 11kg lost in total since 7th November.

StealthMama · 21/12/2025 09:37

Thanos for the new thread. I’ve been so busy I haven’t posted much but so great reading everyone’s updates.

just did jab 7 last night on 5mg and my next 5mg pen arrived this week so will stay on that dose till end of January.

ive lost 12lbs and scraped under 11st this week at 10.12 which is great. I’m very apple shaped but bought 2 pairs of size 10 stretchy jeans which feel great! Felt good going out yesterday for Xmas panto and dinner :) I’ve struggled with tiredness to pick up on exercise as work has been hectic for months and poss some side effect. My plan is after Xmas week to really pick up on running again and get a new routine in place.

wish you all a merry Christmas! Onwards, or downwards on the scales hopefully!

That's a huge loss since 7th Nov!!

I havent really felt any huge difference on 3.75mg, maybe slightly more nausea on days 2 and 3, suppression is still full on with the odd occasion of hunger but not feeling like eating. I havent lost any more weight on it, I am on such low cals as it is I have had to stick to much the same. I will probably stick to 3.75 until I plateau (or any other changes) then consider going up.

SexyFrenchDepression · 21/12/2025 09:42

@StealthMama I havent been great woth exercise, was pretty good prior to jabs. Mostly feeling unwell at first stopped me, then out of routine plus tiredness has hindered me. Hopefully new year new routine will help!

TheP1per · 21/12/2025 09:56

Yes it is a big loss, probably too big. My diet changed a lot, white bread and chocolate were my absolute staple diet. I think I look good but my bmi is still 30. I can’t imagine being back to 10 st, I haven’t been that weight since I had my daughter 16 years ago. I was 11st 4 until I turned 40 and the weight steadily increased from there. So 6 years since I’ve felt in control. It’s a nice thought. I hope I’ve broken some of my bad habits. Must exercise though. I only do my usual daily activities and rack up about 8000 steps. Must lift some weights!
I think I will go up to 3.75 again after Christmas. How long since you lost weight sexyfrenchdepression? I’m sure it will shift soon. I read on one thread about upping calories to lose weight but it’s really hard when you just don’t want to eat isn’t it.

i have deff suffered side effects of tiredness but on week 3 of 5mg I think it’s tapering, and some rest from work - I’m off for the next 2 weeks - hopefully put me in good shape to start on 28th or 29th. I was running 3/4 times a week 6months ago Blush

i also found taking the jab on Saturday night before bed (even if I’ve had a wine or 2) works better.

Springbaby2023 · 21/12/2025 10:32

@JustBeach I think I’ll stay on them long ish term, certainly longer than I first thought. I think for me aside from just the weight it will take a while to properly embed new habits. That’s also why I’m not trying to lose absolutely loads on it as well, I feel like I need to get to a weight that is maintainable rather than just my ideal weight. I know there is a real risk I’ll put the weight back on but I’d rather give myself the chance.

@SexyFrenchDepression I really wish I’d started in April when I first thought about it! But never mind, I think we all did well to start in November rather than waiting until January.

TaffyTabby · 21/12/2025 10:36

Good morning everyone
thank you for the new thread

I’m almost at a stone down. Feels a little slow when I have a lot to lose but I’m still feeling good, I feel like I can notice it when I put on clothes.

I am definitely intending to stay on the jab long term. I’ve been obese my entire adult life so I have no doubt I will need lifelong support to keep the weight off; the evidence is that the majority won’t be able to sustain the loss without the medication.

I did have a read of the maintenance thread though and there’s a few folk managing, I just don’t think I’ll be one of those people.

I looked at the difference in our food / eating out bill and since I’ve been on the jabs it’s gone down roughly £200 (!) so I’m looking at it that I’d rather pay to be slim and healthy than pay for biscuits and takeaways.

SexyFrenchDepression · 21/12/2025 10:42

@TheP1per I havent stopped losing yet but its getting less (as expected I guess) sinve my 1st 3.75mg jab I lost 2.98lb week 5, 2.09lb week 6 and 1.98lb week 7. I thought by going up I may have lost more but like I say calories are similar as I am under 1000 for my deficit amount so cant go too much lower. Exercise is probably key now. My BMI is 25.3 now so getting close to healthy!

@StealthMama yes its always so easy to wait till January!!

JustBeach · 21/12/2025 10:49

I’ve been lurking on the maintenance thread too! Because my time on mounjaro will be relatively short I am worried about piling the weight back on. If I carry on like I am, I’ll be at goal weight late Jan/early Feb. I’ve just got to be strict with myself. I worked out my calories for maintenance at my goal weight- and I’ll be able to eat enough, I’ll just need to stay on healthy, whole foods and not binge on sugar and carbs. I’ll keep up the weights and walking too. I’m hoping moving into spring will also help.

I’m going to stay on 2.5 - even if it’s harder . Ithink I will get an extra pen and just wean off once I’m at goal weight. I won’t qualify for the pens again so this is my one shot! I just wish it was cheaper! I’m saving quite a bit on takeaways and snacks, I could do £100 maybe!

Fifiellz · 21/12/2025 10:50

I’m down 19lbs now and at the point where everyone is noticing, I’ve always said I will be honest about how I lost it and I will, I have no shame about using mounjaro and will advocate for them now as they have been a game changer for me. No one has asked though.
I was planning to stay on them until I lost the weight but actually there are benefits for me that aren’t just weight related so I am planning on staying on 2.5 for longer, even if I stretch it out to fortnightly injections (I have read some people have great success with this in maintenance)
More importantly though I want to reach a weight where ultimately I am comfortable to stay at , and embed a healthy eating and exercise routine before I even consider stopping. It will be a while I think because ai haven’t even started to exercise let alone got a routine in place!
Im not in a hurry, Im happy with how things are going, the side effects are manageable and I feel great so will trot along and make decisions month by month.

If you have already been on the jabs then you will qualify for a while after, there are lots of maintenance pharmacies, think most have stipulations of over BMI 19-21 depending on their policies. Lotus is one and they do give you discounts.

SexyFrenchDepression · 21/12/2025 11:03

@Fifiellz not one person has said anything at all to me. It definitely notices but no one has commented. I think most of the people I have seen regularly are people I always see regularly so perhaps people will notice if I havent seen them for a while. I actually dont mind people not noticing but it makes me feel like I am seeing it but imagining it 😂

JustBeach · 21/12/2025 11:09

@SexyFrenchDepressionno one has mentioned it to me either! I can notice but I saw some friends I hadn’t seen for a month the other day and it didn’t come up! I think it shows that other
people just aren’t as focused on your body weight as we are! TBH I’ve been yo yo dieting for 19 years with about a 4 stone range! I haven’t been this low in 11 years though. I’m not telling anyone about the MJ , other than partner, so it suits me!

Fifiellz · 21/12/2025 11:09

@SexyFrenchDepressionIt def has been people that haven’t seen me for a while. My own 18yr old hasn’t said a word yet and even DH was really surprised how much I’ve lost. People that see you often don’t notice changes so much I guess. You have lost a phenomenal amount it must be obvious, maybe the people around you are more polite than the ones who know me 😂

Haha, yeah mostly colleagues I have seen really I guess or friends we see at least weekly! Potentially they are being polite 😂

My besties (non polite friends) are scattered round the country so havent seen them in last 6 or so weeks! My DH wouldn't notice if I put on 3 stone overnight 😂

I agree, most people don't really focus on other people's weight so genuinely dont notice! I was also at a lower weight for more of my adult weight than the weight I have been more recently so potentially I look more like myself again!

user593 · 21/12/2025 11:42

Placemarking ☺️ I’m a few days off having been on MJ a month now and 28lbs down. A bit worried about how fast it’s coming off so going to try taking some collagen as I fear lots of loose skin!

YourBreezyBiscuit · 21/12/2025 12:57

I started at 16 stone 7, after 2 weeks on MJ I am 15 stone 6, I am gobsmacked!

Goal weight is 11.5 stone which I've never achieved in my life so I'm doubtful it's actually achievable for me as someone with PCOS and a big broad build, the lightest I've ever been is 12.5 stone and I looked very slim and fit even though my BMI was overweight. I'll be happy with anything under 13 stone tbh.

I'm really enjoying the 🎄 Christmas parties this year, I don't feel controlled by the food anymore, I eat a reasonable amount and really enjoy it then lose interest, whereas usually I would feel compelled to keep eating until my stomach hurt because the food is so nice. I was wondering if I'd made a mistake starting close to Christmas and if I would ruin the festivities for myself but it's actually made me enjoy everything more!

Midnightsummer · 21/12/2025 16:40

Hi all – November starter here with a 4-week update 😊
I started Mounjaro 2.5mg on 28 November and I’m soon finishing week 4 (this Friday). Thought I’d share progress for anyone feeling unsure or just starting out especially on low end of BMI (27)
Height: 5’4
Starting weight: 74kg / 163lbs
Current weight: 71kg / 156lbs
Total loss so far: 2.9kg / 6lbs
It’s not rapid but it’s steady, and honestly I’m thrilled. Food noise has pretty much gone, appetite is calm and I’m naturally eating smaller portions. I feel “settled” rather than chasing food.
The biggest surprise has been how different my body feels already, tummy/side profile noticeably flatter, face slimmer & posture better, I just feel lighter overall. Skin looks a bit brighter too, probably from drinking loads of water. No side effects really just weird taste when eating sweet things.
This month has shifted my mindset loads. I’m eating more mindfully, moving gently when I can, and finally feel a bit of self-respect creeping back with my choices.
I’m hoping to reach around 62kg eventually, but taking it week by week. Just wanted to share for anyone watching quietly – small steady loss really adds up. Xxx
