Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

Hi all – November starter here with a 4-week update 😊
I started Mounjaro 2.5mg on 28 November and I’m soon finishing week 4 (this Friday). Thought I’d share progress for anyone feeling unsure or just starting out especially on low end of BMI (27)
Height: 5’4
Starting weight: 74kg / 163lbs
Current weight: 71kg / 156lbs
Total loss so far: 2.9kg / 6lbs
It’s not rapid but it’s steady, and honestly I’m thrilled. Food noise has pretty much gone, appetite is calm and I’m naturally eating smaller portions. I feel “settled” rather than chasing food.
The biggest surprise has been how different my body feels already, tummy/side profile noticeably flatter, face slimmer & posture better, I just feel lighter overall. Skin looks a bit brighter too, probably from drinking loads of water. No side effects really just weird taste when eating sweet things.
This month has shifted my mindset loads. I’m eating more mindfully, moving gently when I can, and finally feel a bit of self-respect creeping back with my choices.
I’m hoping to reach around 62kg eventually, but taking it week by week. Just wanted to share for anyone watching quietly – small steady loss really adds up. Xxx

Hi, we are very similar stats, I started at 76.2kg though on 1st November. BMI was around 28. The thing I noticed very quickly is how I lost the bloated look in my face and tummy soon after starting, before losing a stone.

I am trying to get to 9 stone but I think 9st7 would probably be ok. Previously I would have felt that was heavy for me but now I'm a bit older it may be about right.

tobee · 21/12/2025 17:35

I'm definitely expecting to stay on WLI for life. I'm gambling on the fact that they'll be more competition coming to market in the medium to long term and therefore it (whatever weigh loss drugs there are) will be more affordable. But I decided quite early on I'd be prepared to sacrifice quite a few things to afford the drugs.

As to people noticing my weight loss, I've only lost about 10/11 pounds. But this isn't the best time of year to show off weight loss - unless you're maybe wearing a slinky outfit to a party. Come spring/summer being out of jumpers and coats etc it should be more noticeable. Anyway, I've noticed it on me!

TaffyTabby · 21/12/2025 18:15

True @tobee ! We can emerge out of our jumpers come spring (or er July here oop north) looking like lovely svelte butterflies ✨

Midnightsummer · 21/12/2025 19:04

@SexyFrenchDepression I love that for you! And I can relate about the puffiness. How much in total have you lost since starting? And have you changed doses? I have ordered 5mg starting from week 5 but that’s next week Friday! Still deciding on whether I should half it and remain on 2.5 as I think it’s working ok or jump up to 5mg.

20.5lbs in total in 7 weeks. Down from 12st to 10st7.5, I cant quote believe it I went up from 2.5mg after 5 doses to 3.75mg, I dont think I am likely to go up any higher any time soon. My appetite suppression is such a lot that I dont think I need to go up any more. I kind of wish I had stayed at 2.5mg for another week to see how I was.

OhCobblers · 21/12/2025 19:54

Just seen new thread - putting this here too.

Has anyone had similar? I’ve felt the worst this week than ever and I’m on Week 4.
felt so sick/nauseas for at least 3 days plus rather anxious?! I was due to jab on Fri and it would have been either 3.75mg or the full 5mg. But I really didn’t want to feel like this over Xmas so leaving it a week but I don’t know if that’s wise?
thanks ☹️

I would maybe just put it off a couple of days? Maybe stick to 2.5mg also if you were getting good appetite suppression on that. Probably no need to miss a week but also no point in increasing if you are getting lots of side effects on 2.5.

OhCobblers · 21/12/2025 20:09

Thanks @SexyFrenchDepression I’ve noticed appetite suppression wearing off a bit so was happy to increase but bit worried of going straight up to 5mg. I don’t have enough needles for 2.5mg with my 5mg pen? It’s already been delayed by 2 days so perhaps I should inject tomorrow but only 3.75mg. Are the clicks the same on any 5mg pen do you know? Thanks

Yes 45 clicks on a 5mg pen. I have received 2 extra needles in all my packs so far so thats annoying. You could use syringes, or order some extra needles I believe. Would make sense to do tomorrow as gives a few days before xmas.

tobee · 21/12/2025 20:43

Just been playing around with happy scale and I find it quite bamboozling

user593 · 21/12/2025 20:48

@tobee I use Happy Scale. It’s been a bit depressing watching my average drop over the last month 😅but I do find overall it’s helpful.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 21/12/2025 21:20

@OhCobblers you can buy a box of 100 pen needles from Amazon and lots or on line pharmacies - not expensive and gives you a lot of flexibility.

Springbaby2023 · 22/12/2025 08:15

Just weighed in this morning, expected to have gained because I was feeling bloated and I’ve stopped tracking calories, but I’ve lost another 2lb! Which means I’ve hit the first one stone milestone. Official weigh in day isn’t until tomorrow as I started on a Tuesday and that will make six weeks.

OP posts:
SexyFrenchDepression · 22/12/2025 08:17

Had a very dizzy day yesterday, not sure whether it was lack of sleep, lowish cals the day before, or the jabs. Had quite a lazy day so that can make you feel tired I guess. Also took amitriptyline the night before and forgot my vitamins so potentially a number of not ideal scenarios! Feel better this morning, got a Christmas lights day out today so will be 15k + steps and not much stopping so hopefully will be feeling ok.

Springbaby2023 · 22/12/2025 08:23

@SexyFrenchDepression It’s hard to tell what’s the jabs and what isn’t sometimes isn’t it. My stomach wasn’t right again yesterday after a jab on Saturday, but then my youngest threw up so now I’m thinking stomach bug! Hope you feel better as the day goes on and enjoy the lights.

EducatingRosemary · 22/12/2025 21:22

Thanks for the new thread 🥰

9 jabs done and up until the last couple of days the only side effects I’ve had were awful headaches in week 2.

Did my 9th jab Friday evening and had trapped wind and mild stomach pains for last couple of days. Not done anything differently. Same food, same quantities and same dose jabs. Going to pop to the pharmacy tomorrow and see if I can get something to help.

JustBeach · 22/12/2025 21:54

I’ve just taken my 7th jab, and after going up to 3.75 on week 6 - I’ve gone back to 2.5 because I’ve struggled to eat anything more than a few bites all week. Now I’m worried the suppression won’t be enough over Xmas! 😂

Springbaby2023 · 22/12/2025 22:03

@JustBeach one week of eating more won’t make much difference in the grand scheme of things anyway! You still won’t overeat in a way that you perhaps would have without MJ.

OP posts:
TaffyTabby · 22/12/2025 22:23

I’ve been eating more the last couple days. I think I’ll have to go up to 5mg in January. But I’m not stressing about eating a bit more over Christmas.

I dunno if anyone listens to the Fat Science podcast but the doctor on there talks about being careful not to use GLPs to overly restrict as you will damage your metabolism. So I’m telling myself it’s good to keep on mixing things up!

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 23/12/2025 08:43

@OhCobblerssaw you post on the 1st thread - make sure you drink plenty, have a nap if you need it and just try to eat small meals. It will improve after 2-3 days post jab and it will settle eventually.

I’ve had a revelation this week that after going up to 6mg I felt rough, but I had (without realising) stopped making myself drink plenty and once I did that things quickly improved. I am going to try this again in the next jab and see if that is the issue, as I was similar when I went to 5mg and I think after a month, I was being less careful to drink enough, so I was badly fatigued for a couple of days each jab.

66babe · 23/12/2025 09:15

Thanks for new thread , good to see so many of us doing well , sorry if anyone not feeling well
I’m quite proud that I’ve got nibbles , chocolates, cakes , biscuits and typical indulgent Xmas stuff in the house and not touched any of it .
Last night I snacked on grapes while watching tv, this is unheard of for me
All the kids will be arriving from tonight onwards so there’s lots of food in the house , I’m chuffed I’m now 1 stone 3 lbs lighter than I was at the beginning of November with no side effects and happy to keep going , did the 3.75 last week thanks @SexyFrenchDepressionand will do the same Thursday , keep going all , how lovely will it be to start the new year without that bloated stuffed feeling .

SexyFrenchDepression · 23/12/2025 09:25

@66babe I love the fact I am not over indulging, it was always bitter sweet TBH and I would feel awful after.

Had a lovely day in London yesterday but didnt eat any crap, just had breakfast at home then a meal, 25k steps also! Have lost almost another lb since Saturday, so 1st 7.4 in total since 1st Nov. Was happy to get under my interim xmas target also as if I dont lose or put on a lb next week I wont care.

My random dizzy day was luckily only one day and I was fine yesterday thank goodness! Still debating whether to do my jab as usual thurs or wait till friday, I think i will wait till Fri just in case, Saturday/Sundays are my worst days I think after jab and I am out Sat so might be best as a one off.

PatheticDistraction · 23/12/2025 10:06

Thank you for the new thread!

Happily this week on 5mg has been far easier than the previous, I've been much more careful about eating & the side effects have been non existent.

I also got my first 'Have you lost weight?' comment yesterday - so I'm happy with that. I'm a stone down & now really looking forward to the New Year.

Fifiellz · 23/12/2025 10:29

I was going to do 2.5 yesterday but as I’ve been taking 3.75 out of my 2.5 pen I only managed to get 20 clicks. So took that and then 2.5mg from my new pen. So guessing 3.5mg in total - no side effects yet.
My provider have sent the renewal for my next pen and I’m def goin to order the 5mg this time - will stick to 3.75 for a couple of weeks and then increase if I feel the need.
I have joined the gym (like the rest of the country prob!) so that will be my focus in the New Year. I’m down 20lbs and happy with that but not planning to go mad over Xmas - my food shop was considerably cheaper this year as a result! May treat myself to the odd glass of wine though.

TaffyTabby · 23/12/2025 11:02

@diggitydoo
sorry can’t reply on the old thread as it’s full. Sorry you’ve had a gain and difficult week. Is there any chance you’ve gained some water temporarily?
Don’t give up, it’s normal to have days that aren’t perfect, it’s good practice for maintenance long term. I’m giving myself a lot of grace over Christmas.
you sound like you did a great job keeping everything in moderation x
