Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

@EducatingRosemary that's amazing it worked so well for him albeit on the higher doses and that he’s keeping it off. I definitely think part of the issue is I need to order a bit more in advance as don’t want to risk running out, but also because I had really bad side effects after the second 7.5mg dose, I’m constantly weighing up whether the risk of side effects with a higher dose (and cost!) is worth the possible increase in weight loss. I have reasoned with myself now that if I get to next week when I start my new pen and I want to do 10mg then I could just do it from the 7.5mg pen, it would be wasteful but at least hopefully I’d lose more weight quicker. Will see how I go this week though, hoping I’ll get a bit of a woosh to spur me on.

Thanks for sharing that @EducatingRosemary - that is useful.

I suppose also at the back of my mind I’m thinking what if even on 15mg it wears off and I’ve still got a way to go? I’ve done 15 jabs and I’ve only lost 1 stone 6 pounds so far! I’ve got about the same again to lose according to my pre mounjaro target. I suppose I just need to trust in the jab!

Although it’s funny saying I’ve only lost 1st 6lbs; pre mounjaro I’d have been ecstatic to lose that in twice the amount of time.

Springbaby2023 · 23/02/2026 21:23

@tobee Sounds really similar, I’m 1st 7lb down with the same to go again. Like you say we would have been chuffed with this pre mounjaro though! It’s just hard if you compare to others, and the cost does add pressure too.

I started reading it and was so confused as thought I had accidentally lost my place 😂

It is crazy how different people react. On another thread someone was saying their maintenance dose was 12.5mg. I cant even imagine taking that dose, although it clearly is the way it was intended as all the advice is to go up each month.

tobee · 24/02/2026 01:27

Makes you wonder if we all react so differently to all drugs we take

TaffyTabby · 24/02/2026 07:42

@EducatingRosemary I love to hear how other people have got on with the jabs.

@tobee totally, I think you’re right. I went to a talk where they were saying in future we might have genetic assessments to identify which drugs will be most beneficial to us.

I know it’s not a true stall but I’ve been stuck around the same weight for two weeks now, bouncing up and down. Annoying!

Its so boring not losing the bigger amounts like in the early days 😂 i would be done in 2-3 weeks if I was losing more. I feel impatient but TBH I didnt expect to lose this much really so quickly. I have lost 2lb a week average but most of it in the 1st 2 months.

It is fine, I'm just not a patient person 😂

user593 · 24/02/2026 15:52

@SexyFrenchDepression It’s so boring! I’m not patient at all either. But I keep reminding myself I’ve lost nearly 4st and that’s amazing, it just feels very slow now. Although it really isn’t that slow at all, just compared to the beginning.

Exactly, I would have been happy with 2lb a week if it had been spread evenly. I want to but some new clothes, I dont think I will need much smaller really but I definitely don't want to buy any more just yet. It will be my reward 😂

user593 · 24/02/2026 16:15

@SexyFrenchDepression Oh I’ve bought rather a lot even though I’m nowhere near my end goal 😅 but things that should work for a while like some oversized shirts from Sezane. I was so excited to be able to get into Sezane even if it’s their biggest size in an oversized fit! I’ve also bought some summer clothes and swimsuits as we’re going away (to hot places) in March and July but bought the smallest sizes I can get away with hoping they last 🫣

TaffyTabby · 24/02/2026 16:17

I think I’m finding it extra frustrating because I’m only a couple lb away from my lowest weight in five year. Really want to get in to the next stone bracket down but it’ll be at least 8 weeks at this rate.

I’ve decided I’m going to go up a little for my next jab, will be about 6.8mg.

SexyFrenchDepression · 24/02/2026 16:20

@user593 ah that's exciting though! I had kept my small jeans so it is kind of like a new wardrobe, some of them were a bit tight when I originally bought them 5+ years ago but I can wear fitted tops with them now which is a nice feeling. My sports leggings are all like Nora Batty tights 😂 I have ordered 2 pairs of Halara but not sure of their sizing so will see. If they are nice they have soooooo many colours to buy!

I need some casual tops but not sure what I want my style to be now, its hard as I am a 32GG so anything remotely low cut does not look casual so I want to go and try stuff on rather than order online.

I havent dared try on my bikinis yet 😬 I havent really ever suited 1 piece suits so hoping I look a bit better in bikinis now.

Edited

I dont think going up will help me, I could eat less but really less than 800 cals a day would not be a good idea so I'm going to have to live with slow losses. I think itll take about 8 weeks to drop this half stone, then another few to get a few lbs buffer off.

user593 · 24/02/2026 16:26

@SexyFrenchDepression Oh that’s exciting! Let me know how you find the Halara as I’ve been looking at them also…

Maybe good quality crew neck t-shirts for casual tops? Pima cotton or modal? I’m very fussy about fabrics 😅

I’ve always been overweight so I’ve never worn a bikini. I can’t imagine ever wearing one either! 🫣 I bought some Hunza G swimsuits in the sale as they’re ’one size fits all’ (stretchy) so should last me all the way down although I don’t think they’ll fit me just yet.

SexyFrenchDepression · 24/02/2026 16:28

@user593 yes will do, I fear I will end up ordering loads of stuff from there if the sizes are good as I keep seeing lovely trousers being advertised on there.

@user593 @SexyFrenchDepression Four stone is incredible!! Imagine how frustrating it is to be losing this slowly but be nowhere near that level of loss. It genuinely feels like I’m never going to lose another pound in my whole life right now - I know that’s completely irrational but that’s how stuck I feel. You are both doing so well.

OP posts:
Springbaby2023 · 24/02/2026 18:17

@TaffyTabby I think that’s where I’m feeling stuck too. I’m the lowest weight I’ve been in coming up to three years (I lose weight when pregnant so ended up at my lowest weight after having my DS in 2023) so I think it’s unfortunate timing that the plateau is happening at this weight, such a mental block for me.

It must be so frustrating, especially as you're doing all the right things. I know you are likely to have done this, but have you recalculated your TDEE recently? I had to reduce by 300 cals very quickly to keep up the loss. I guess if the medication isnt working like you need it to then lowering calories is a mammoth task. You'll probably have a massive loss all in one go though. It often seems to go that way.

tobee · 24/02/2026 18:20

While we’re on the subject what sort of weight loss would you guys have expected per week if you were trying to lose weight but not on mounjaro? In your personal experience?

That’s probably a daft question because it might depend on where you were in life; age and health conditions etc.

Springbaby2023 · 24/02/2026 18:22

@SexyFrenchDepression The problem is I can’t reduce my calories…. I know I should but I just don’t have the willpower / suppression. Which is where it’s frustrating as essentially I feel like I’m just on a normal diet if that makes sense? Just one that I’m sticking too for longer. It probably does mean that I need to increase my doses, but that brings with it more side effects. I’m really hoping split dosing will help mean that I can eat more consistently lower calories across the whole week.

@tobee I would have expected around 1lb a week average which is what I’m getting now, or was until I started stalling. The difference is I’ve stuck at it for so much longer than anything before.

OP posts:
SexyFrenchDepression · 24/02/2026 18:29

@tobee 20 yrs ago when DS was 4 months old I went to weight watchers and lost 33lb in 17 weeks, I lost half a stone in 1st 2 weeks then fairly evenly the rest of the time. I was only 26 then. Over the years I have only really needed to lose half a stone until 2020. Since then I have lost close to 2lb a week however never managed much more than 6 weeks and have put it all back on each time. Its never been how much, its how long I guess.

@Springbaby2023 over a stone is still really good though, I guess the worst thing is paying all that money and being hungry still. Hopefully the split doses will work for you as even chipping away 1lb a week is fine if you're not starving all the time.

user593 · 24/02/2026 18:42

@tobee I’ve never been able to lose weight without some sort of extreme and structured diet. I’ve done two VCLD diets in the past including the 1:1 Diet (or Cambridge Diet as it was known then) and lost at about the same rate as this, but those are complete meal replacement diets, incredibly tough and it never taught me how to eat properly (just removed food entirely, and then you can have food again and it’s so easy to slide into old habits). I’ve lost and gained about 10st twice doing that. I have more hope for this because what I’m doing is sustainable.

Thank you. I still have an awful lot to loose though so I’d hoped the big losses might have continued for a little bit longer, but I’m very grateful to have lost what I have but hoping things might pick up again.
