@putthehamsterbackinitscage thank you

I use the free GLP plotter and it's just saying that it will be about 30 days

But I suppose nothing is fool proof

It was a silly question. I just really want to feel normal again and I'll have to be patient for that.

TaffyTabby · 22/02/2026 17:23

What symptoms are you still getting @RoundandSad ? Sorry that’s crap you have to wait so long to get to zero! Hopefully maybe even before then you’ll feel normal ish

RoundandSad · 22/02/2026 17:43

@TaffyTabby It's the blunted dopamine

I feel so low I feel like I'm in a dark tunnel

I'm also still very tired, but that links to the dopamine

It's really the feeling of being incredibly low that I want to get rid of. It's not like me at all.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 22/02/2026 19:31

RoundandSad · 22/02/2026 20:38

@RoundandSad when did you last take any dose? And when was the one before that?

17th Feb 1.25

4th Feb was the last 2.5

so I was hoping it would be out of my system earlier

But it looks like it only takes a month to bed in

@SexyFrenchDepression sorry to hear you have a bad back. I hope you get better soon.

Thank you.

Generally it reduces by 0.2mg per day. It obviously does build up so you would have had more than 2.5mg in your system at its highest.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 22/02/2026 21:23

So it won’t be completely gone till 19th March. But, levels will drop steadily in the first week or so. The dose from 4th February will be gone by 6th March and the 1.25 ftom 17th will be 0.625 on 22nd, 0.3125 on 27th and 0.15625 on 5th March so by 6th March your overall levels will be below 0.156 and continuing to drop so just hang on in there for 2 weeks and you should feel much better…

EducatingRosemary · 22/02/2026 22:46

@RoundandSad sorry you are still feeling so rubbish. I hope that you start to feel much better this week.

@SexyFrenchDepression back ache is horrible. Have you taken some ibuprofen and Codeine? I would usually try not too take too much by way of pain relief but when I put my back out about seven years ago now? the GP said you need full dose for a week to allow the body to move naturally to help recovery. She was right - it really seemed to work!

SexyFrenchDepression · 22/02/2026 22:49

@EducatingRosemary I have naproxen and amitriptyline, its helped a lot as I have been able to keep moving.

EducatingRosemary · 22/02/2026 22:52

Hit my 3 stone loss today! 🎉 Boxed up my size 16 skirts, trousers and jeans today as they are no longer wearable.
Next goal is to be able to fit into and buy some size 12 jeans!

Oh and I have a question - is there somewhere I can buy online more of the needles that come with the Mounjaro pens please?

I’m experiencing such a plateau at the home, only lost 2.5 lb in coming up to four weeks (will be four weeks tomorrow) and of those, three weeks have been at 7.5! Last night I decided that I’d just stick it out for one more month and give up if it’s still not working out, then today I’ve done a 180 and I’m kicking myself for not having ordered a higher dose for my new pen. I’m really torn because at the moment the cost of it just doesn’t outweigh the benefits to me.

That said I am going to give split dosing a try with this pen and see if that helps. Has anyone got any advice on best way to do it? I was thinking 5mg on a Sunday and then 2.5mg on a Wednesday/ Thursday, but not sure if I then have to leave it another five days before doing the next 5mg?

At the moment, not at the home!!

I am (was?) beginning to feel like a freak on this thread because I’m talking my last dose of my pen tomorrow and thinking I’m going to need to go up to 10mg. Most of the rest of you seem to be doing ok on low doses.

I’m trying to bear in mind we all go at our own pace etc. I just find I’m not getting satiety after about 3 days. It doesn’t help that I only lost 1/4 pound last week but then I lost 2 pounds the week before which is unusual for me. I just don’t want a month of satiety getting worse and worse.

What I’ve decided is to see how tomorrow’s jab goes and decide Thursday night/Friday morning what pen to order. I had hoped to just stay on 7.5 for a few months. The last dose comes around really fast and I’m umming and ahhing again.

If you look on mounjaro threads here and another forum Reddit it seems really divided. You’re either team Stay on the Lowest Dose You Can for as Long as You Can Like I Have or team Go Up Every Month That’s What You’re Scheduled to Do 🤔😑😁

TaffyTabby · 23/02/2026 16:47

I have eaten much more these last two days, I don’t like feel like the dose I’m on is working for me anymore.

The doctor on the fat science podcast endorses staying on the lowest that’s effective for as long as it’s working, because then you’re giving yourself more “runway”. Otherwise you get to the top dose and have no where else to go when you still need to lose more.

I think generally in medicine the recommendation is to only use the dose you need and sometimes there isn’t anything more to be gained from higher doses expect worse side effects.

Having said all that I’m seriously considering going up a dose because I feel like my dose really isn’t cutting it any more!!

Springbaby2023 · 23/02/2026 17:24

@tobee don’t worry it’s definitely not just you, I feel exactly the same. By the weekends (I usually jab on Monday/ Tuesday) it’s like I’ve not got any MJ in my system! Even on the other days I don’t feel able to eat super low calories like others on here. It’s really tough as you obviously want to be one of the people who can stay on the lowest dose and lose weight super quickly but I guess we just all can’t be that lucky. I do wish I’d ordered 10mg now but then I do struggle with side effects too!

OP posts:
Springbaby2023 · 23/02/2026 17:24

@TaffyTabby what dose are you on?

OP posts:
tobee · 23/02/2026 17:27

Thanks for the solidarity @Springbaby2023 The good thing is I’m still not craving junk food but that only gets you so far.

tobee · 23/02/2026 17:31

This is what I mean @TaffyTabby because I see people also saying you should go up because you then get better weight loss and that’s all factored in. I’m happy losing 1 pound to 1.5 pounds a week and don’t really want to lose more than that. But I don’t want to waste money on a dose that doesn’t make much difference.

Who doesn’t want to do the whole mounjaro experience on the lowest and cheapest doses? Fewer £££££ gone and fewer side effects!

TaffyTabby · 23/02/2026 18:35

Yeah totally get the not wanting to waste £ on doses that aren’t doing what you want them to, I feel like that too!

I’m on 5mg. I’m 40% of the way to my goal so doesn’t seem too crazy to go up again.

user593 · 23/02/2026 19:51

@Springbaby2023 My average weight loss has halved over the last two weeks and I don’t feel like I’ve been doing that much different. I really struggle with water and fibre though. I took some laxatives today to try and ‘reset’! I think it’s inevitable the weight loss will change though, I expect it will decrease and increase may times over (hopefully!).

I’m on 5mg now and it may be I need to go up but I’m going to try and stick it out a bit longer. I’m regularly doing OMAD now anyway partly because I don’t have much of an appetite.

EducatingRosemary · 23/02/2026 20:08

Not sure if this is any help regarding moving up versus staying on the lowest dose, but I’ll share just in case.

My husband was the first person I knew to go on Mounjaro (18 months ago). He was well into the obese BMI category and hadn’t been able to stick with weight loss for more than six weeks at a time for years. Our local family-run pharmacy started offering Mounjaro - initially with an in-person assessment that lasted almost an hour with the lovely pharmacist, followed by monthly in-person check-ups where his weight and blood pressure were monitored.

He lost the weight (and has kept over 80% of it off). While there were some months when he repeated a dose, for over 75% of the time he could really feel it wearing off and knew, without doubt, that he needed to move up to the next dose. His check-up was usually just a couple of days before his new pen was due, so he could leave the decision until about 48 hours before needing it. That flexibility was helpful, as he didn’t have to second-guess in advance. He went right up to the highest dose and then did a couple of months on a lower dose and then stopped.

In hindsight, it was very expensive compared to buying online, but at the time it felt necessary, as there was much less information available to us. We’d never heard of the “golden dose,” so he disposed of each pen after four doses.

I can only afford and justify the cost now for myself because of online prices, but having seen him go through it (even though I wasn’t really involved) gave me confidence.

What has really surprised us both is that 2.5 mg is still enough for me after 18 injections. It really shows how differently it affects different people. I truly think that if you feel it wearing off and it’s no longer working well, then you probably need to increase the dose, as he did. If it’s working fine, then great - stay where you are. It’s clearly very individual, and that’s okay.

sure if this is any help re moving up vs staying on lowest dose but will share just in case.
