Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

My bmi is back in the 20s! I haven’t been here for years. 29.7 to be precise.
I’ve lost a kilo this week and I’ll be having my third 3.75mg injection tomorrow. Also very happy to report that my nausea has totally gone. It was just the first week at this dose that was bad.

SexyFrenchDepression · 03/01/2026 11:08

@EducatingRosemary thats an amazing loss in that time!! Glad the clicks all worked out ok.

@TheP1per its a nice feeling hitting those sorts of targets isnt it! I found the nausea for me has pretty much gone now so I am sticking to 3.75, I have done 5 on 2.5 and 5 at 3.75, no really appetite on either dose which has made it easy.

End of week weigh in day today and I am amazed to have lost 2.8lb. Had lower losses for a couple of weeks but have lost over 4lb since 20th December so I couldnt be happier to have got through xmas unscathed so far.

I have lost 25lb since starting the jabs, had lost 2lb in the week or so before starting so nearly 2 stone now!! BMI is 24.6 and close to being under 10stone for first time in 5 years at least!

Once I am over this virus my focus is on weight lifting again and increasing my daily steps. Got a new fitbit for xmas so it is good to prompt me on moving each hour especially as I work from home.

NattyGoldNewt · 03/01/2026 18:48

Happy New Year everyone and well done on the maintaining and losses through the crazy festive season with all the food on offer.

I finally reached the top end of a healthy BMI as the new year starts. I can not believe it and am so pleased.

  1. 5 lbs down this last week despite a lot of fluctuations but 3.75mg seems to work well for me so may stick to this depending on how the next week goes. I need to order a new pen soon. I was thinking of changing supplier to take advantage of a discount but not sure who prescribes when under 25 BMI now! Perhaps I can order when the weight bounces up again!

I think most will still prescribe under BMI 25 as you are currently taking it. I am going to try and switch next month so will see what happens. My BMI is now 24.6 but I havent had to order since it was under 25 yet. Lotus prescribe down to about BMI 19 I believe, as do Voy.

NattyGoldNewt · 03/01/2026 19:04

@SexyFrenchDepression thanks, that's really helpful to know. I am only just inside healthy at 24.9 but not letting anyone take that victory away from me 🤣

Also, I am needing to purchase some work trousers now as my old ones are barely staying up any more. I can see 2026 is going to be expensive but worth it.

Its so great to be able to follow others on the same journey! 🙂

SexyFrenchDepression · 03/01/2026 19:53

@NattyGoldNewt I am hoping I'll just be able to get into all my clothes that are too tight but will treat myself to some new ones once I am at goal. Its such a great feeling though isnt it. I have always felt impatient when trying to lose weight but I dont at the moment and I am not starving. It makes such a difference.

Fifiellz · 03/01/2026 21:00

I’ve had to dig all my old jeans back out of the wardrobe - I’ve gone from being in a very snug pair of 14’s to being back in my 10’s - amazing feeling. And I agree, it’s like the pressure is off, I don’t feel impatient and enjoying the process.

My body seems to have really settled into it on 3.75 I’m not having any side effects now and I get hungry and enjoy my food - it means I can start focusing on my nutrition and exercise now.

Well done @TheP1per - I’m hoping to hit the milestone in January.

I feel like my appetite was pretty much back to normal this last week, though maybe I was just pushing past it / eating more mindlessly because I was on holiday?

Anyway back home today and just jabbed, I was going for 3.75 again but managed to get 54 clicks out the pen (fourth dose) so almost 5mg. Looking forward to starting to track calories again and get back to eating normal food, then onto 5mg again properly next weekend with hopefully less side effects.

I’m sure you will reach your goal in January. It’s a nice feeling, that it’s an actual possibility, isn’t it?
I’ve had a bit more of an appetite too, mainly in the evening. But I figure I’ve got to put a bit of effort in as this will be what life is like once I’ve lost the weight and am trying to maintain. I’m not eating big portions during the day and then have a rumbling tum a bit by bedtime so am trying to get bigger portions.

Springbaby2023 · 04/01/2026 08:39

@TheP1per Thats exactly what I think, I don’t want to feel like my appetite is completely suppressed as that won’t happen when I stop taking it, so really want to use these next few months to get into good habits while losing the weight.

I’m 1lb down over Christmas week, which is amazing! I’m now at 24 BMI and 9st 9lb. It blows my mind, and I never in a million years would have achieved it without MJ. I’ve lost just over 1stone, and lost a stone myself before. I spent months gaining and losing the same couple of pounds but since starting MJ it’s just dropping off. I’m undecided how much more to lose. I do feel happy enough, but I just want to build some wiggle room into it for when I come off. I’ve had a couple of people notice the weight loss now which feels nice. I think I’ll try for another stone and then have my weight sit between 8.7-9? It’s hard to know until I get there! I’ve got some lovely dresses that don’t fit anymore and have hardly been worn , which made me a little sad! Strangely my jeans still fit nicely so they must have been really tight! I’m going to really focus on building some muscle and strength this year.
I’m dosing 3.75 from a 5 pen, but am going to drop back to 2.5 because I’m just really struggling to eat much. I have zero appetite.
I’ve also just received my last ever pen! I’m going to take 2.5 until it’s gone , so maybe 12 weeks left including what’s left in my current pen? I'm feeling fairly confident, I just need to spend this last part focusing on new habits. As much as I’d like to, I can’t justify staying on it long term.

StealthMama · 05/01/2026 08:24

@JustBeach that’s amazing, well done! Moving to 2.5 will probt help you start thinking about maintenance plans anyway?

I was remembering when I was really small, size6,, I never even used to weigh myself and just went by clothes fit and I would fast for a day or two if things where getting tight. What a luxury. Hope to be back in that space.

i shifted to 3.75 last night instead of 5. Im hoping I’ll have less tiredness and more energy. Need to shift my chest infection so I can excercise more rigorously but I got plenty of walks in over Christmas and will continue this on lunch breaks this week.

this morning weighed in at 10.13 so I have managed to stay sub 11st over Xmas despite the food and wine. Keen to get back to the routine now. Back at work today.

Happy Monday everyone x

Has anyone on this thread still got a substantial amount to lose? I feel like loads are approaching target weight already!

I would like to lose 1.5 stone still and then see where I am / how I feel.

OP posts:
user593 · 05/01/2026 09:00

@Springbaby2023 I have loads to loose! I’ve set my target for another 10st (I’ve lost 2st) but probably need to lose a bit more than that. My app tells me I’ve completed 19% of my initial target.

I’ve still got 3 stone to lose to get to my pre child weight, which will give me some wiggle room to stay in a healthy bmi. Feeling positive though.

I have just over a stone to lose to get to target weight. Had 3 stone to lose to start with, i needed to lose 1.5stone to get to very top of healthy BMI.

I know this part will take much longer than it has done so far though. When you're short it doesnt sound like as much weight but its still a high % I guess.

TaffyTabby · 05/01/2026 13:15

I’ve got three or four stone to lose! I joined the 5+ stone thread too because also noticed lots of people here were already almost at maintenance.

ChristmasCalsDoCount · 05/01/2026 13:21

@Springbaby2023 I'll be here for the foreseeable i think, 2 stone till my initial target, but to get to where I've previously been happy with my weight and appearance closer to 4 stone to shed.

RoundandSad · 05/01/2026 13:25

Blimey, everyone is doing so well! Well done all

I nearly came off it due to side effects. I stopped posting on the monthly thread because I'm losing so slowly. I think it's now 10lb in two months.

Anyway, I took a three day break, I suppose. Injected before bed last night. Literally woke up with a headache. So posting in desperation to see if anyone knows how to tackle this - it isn't dehydration, it isn't lack of food, it's the medication giving me a headache. I have had my electrolyte drink.

Strangely I don't really want to come off it - partly because I feel it's my only chance.

it was really nice having a three day break, though.

Any advice? Anyone just ploughing on and ignoring their headache? I find it really hard to believe that no one else is experiencing these problems. Reddit is full of them. Maybe I should sign up there to get some advice but thought I'd ask you first.

Springbaby2023 · 05/01/2026 13:55

@RoundandSad sorry to hear you have been suffering. I’ve not had headaches but I have had other side effects and I think it’s just a case of powering through. I find them worse the couple of days after the jab then it gets easier and for now the weight loss is worth it. I don’t think I’d want to be on it super long term though because of how rubbish it can make me feel.

OP posts:
Springbaby2023 · 05/01/2026 13:58

@SexyFrenchDepression Technically I have another three stone to lost to get to a healthy BMI! But I have been that weight before and I know it’s absolutely not sustainable for me so I’m not aiming for that (in fact I was so miserable at that weight as it was just so unmaintainable, and that was 15 years ago and pre kids. So my aim is to be somewhere on the lower end of the overweight category and then see how that feels.

OP posts:
Fifiellz · 05/01/2026 13:59

I still have got about a stone and a half to go, I’m very small framed though and my ideal weight is probably 8.5 stone - looking to get to around 9.5 realistically because I don’t want to look too haggard.

The only side effect I seem to get now is mild reflux if I eat a lot, I had nothing yesterday all day really and then ate a full roast dinner and I could feel it sitting in my upper abdomen all night .

RoundandSad · 05/01/2026 14:36

@Springbaby2023 sorry to hear you're having problems

It's interesting and useful to me to hear that you're just powering through though. I suspect a lot of people are and they don't say so. But also, I think they get a massive loss and that feels worth it. I'm not getting a massive loss.

I was very seriously considering coming off, but what actually pushed me to do it this week was a change in plan for the week which made it much more convenient. I would normally inject on a Friday. It was weird because I spent Friday Saturday and Sunday feeling my usual bouncy self - and then ended up injecting last night (basically burst pipes at the office to have completely changed our plans for the week)! So it seemed like an opportunity. I could literally feel myself feeling sad as I decided to do it though! I was originally just going to do it again this Friday I will probably go another 10 days before doing it and hopefully I can get some enjoyment out of next weekend

I might have to consider going lower and see if I can get the benefits and not the problems. I had this on 2.5. So I would have to go lower than that. I can't imagine being on it long-term. And that then makes me think that perhaps coming off earlier is better because then I won't have rebound appetite to fight.

I went with Voy because I thought they were supposed to give support, but they can't really make these decisions for you and actually it's just an app.

tobee · 05/01/2026 14:39

I've got just a teensy fraction under 2 stone more to lose to get to my (somewhat arbitrary) goal.

LemonPandaCub · 05/01/2026 15:02

Hi, can I join you all. I started MJ on 21st Nov - start weight 89.3kg. Current weight is 79.95kg and I’m aiming for 70kg to give me a BMI of just under 25. I am still on 2.5mg, I mainly started MJ as I have Long Covid and I had heard of people seeing improvements with their symptoms as it reduces inflammation but my weight has also crept up the last 16 months as I’m so inactive now, so I’m grateful that it’s helping me reduce my weight as well. It is helping the brain fog so hopefully other improvements will follow!

I’ve always struggled to lose weight as I had PCOS, so to actually have lost almost 10kg is actually mind blowing.

Thankfully I’ve not had any major side effects apart from allodynia the night after the first injection and nausea which seems to have settled now.

I’m still getting a lot of suppression so mainly have 2 meals a day which includes a huel shake made with semi skimmed milk for breakfast as I find that the easiest way to get a high protein breakfast in to start the day
