Welcome fellow maintainers to our third thread! Tis the season to be joyful and we do have reasons to be joyful, as we are still here. Not always the perfect journey and full of treats and temptations, but we'd have nothing to talk about otherwise. So hop on the Magical Maintenance Sleigh of Wonder and lets go! (Apologies to all those reading this for the first time in March! I got a bit carried away my festive season puns.)

I’m here! Love the thread title!!

Great title!

MJMabel · 18/12/2025 09:33

I’m joining! I’m now on an Oushk maintenance plan at 2.5mg and am happy with the thought of being on them long term. I do look older though and my hair is much thinner. I really want to get my hair back to how it was but don’t know where to start.

MargoLivebetter · 18/12/2025 09:38

Welcome @MJMabel and congratulations on all that you lost and getting to this point. I had quite a bit of hair thinning but it has come back and I also looked older and felt loose and saggy generally. That has all improved. I'm never going to look 25 or probably even 45 again, but I have definitely tightened up a noticeable amount in the past year. I think others have reported similar, so give it time.

Make sure you are eating plenty of protein and might also be worth checking your ferritin stores (iron) as low iron is very unhelpful to hair thickness.

Hello hello. I started a year ago in Sept so have been on Mj around 15 months. Lost 3 stone and have been in maintenance since April. Can I ask - is anyone using less than 2.5ml? I have dropped to 2 and now to 1.25 and am finding it still works. Makes it cheaper too - hurrah!

Also has anyone moved provider whilst in maintenance mode? Voy keep screwing up my dose eg last month they randomly sent me 7.5 even though I have never been beyond 5 which I was on for a couple of months near the start and have been on 2.5 ever since. But I worry that no one will accept me as I am now slap bang in the middle of the healthy BMI.

Thank you for the iron tip - I will look into that as I have lost about half my hair! My hairdresser says there is lots of new growth so it is coming back but not fast enough for me! I have also changed to a much gentler hairbrush and swapped vicious elastic hair ties for softer silk ones which has helped with hair drop hugely. Now only a few strands coming out in the shower as opposed to about 30!!

SO nice to be able to talk these things through!

Belinda57 · 18/12/2025 09:49

Love it 🎁🎄😁
I'm in!!

Sorry for long rambling but I've not posted for ages 😊

So ...Almost 3 stone gone... Size 16 (tight) to a roomy size 12 and baggy, saggy arms to prove it!! (Will be working on this!)

14st 7lbs to 11st 8lbs and not sure I want to go any lower... Nice position to be in ☺️

I've followed SW for ever (ignoring the eat as much of free food as you want mentality 🫩) and started on MJ (may), then moved to Wegovy and am currently on 1mg. Slow but steady which I'm happy with.

Whilst not a huge drinker... I Did enjoy a weekly, Saturday night bottle of wine and was always happy to sink a few on a night out 😂 BUT...(and I still can't believe it...) my desire for alcohol has completely gone!!! I've got a bottle of wine, opened 2 weeks ago, and had 2 glasses out of it. Happy to be designed driver which = a happy husband!!

On the negative side, I can no longer take my supplements (lions mane, biotin etc, etc) in the mornings as I throw them up about 30 minutes later 😖 I generally eat breakfast (brunch!) anytime after 11.30am as no appetite.. has anybody noticed anything similar??

Merry Christmas btw 🥰

👋🏼 Corapirbright 😊

I'm looking at maintenance so I'm glad you are finding it is working. I think Wegovy is a less effective beast as certainly slower weight loss but the price reflects that 👍🏼

I've moved suppliers and keep all my labels to prove I'm on a 'journey'... Recently moved to swift doctors and they are Uber fast (2 days from order to delivery!!!) they do MJ and are competitive. I moved when my BMI was in healthy zone 😊

And yes.... It's great to chat 🥰

MJ122025 · 18/12/2025 10:04

I recommend Seed and Soul for hair thinning. Mine got really thin (and I didnt have much to start with) but after two months I feel like I'm back to my normal. I also take iron tabs daily.

MargoLivebetter · 18/12/2025 10:07

Hello @CoraPirbright and welcome. I cold turkeyed last January and managed without until about mid October, when I just couldn't hack the food noise anymore. I was only 3lb above goal weight but it felt like back in the olden days where ironclad self-discipline was needed every minute of my waking day to prevent me putting food in mouth.

At the recommendation of others on the previous maintenance threads I signed up with Pharmulous. I had savage suppression on the lowest dose of MJ, so I re-started myself on a half dose, 1.2 every 10 days. I've since changed that to a dose of 1.0 weekly. So far so good. Food noise is back to minimal but I can still eat proper meals and the acid reflux is manageable.

@Belinda57 I also can't take any supplement in the morning. Honk it straight back up again too. I take mine as I eat a meal. Really good to hear that you are pleased with Swift so far. I did have a look at them, but no one else had used them at the time.

My desire to drink has also disappeared. I managed 3 bottles of lager last weekend, which was the most I e had in months. Think I drank it to be polite more than actually wanting it.

really weird!!!

MargoLivebetter · 18/12/2025 10:55

@Nedsatomicdustbin I went to see your namesake in London somewhere, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth! Great user name.

Thanks @MargoLivebetter for new thread 🥰

checking in. Maintaining nicely half a stone under my original Goal on 5 and have done for 6mths or so

i may try 2.5 after Xmas - was on 15 was in hardcore 😂 and no effects at all so been slowly, very slowly dropping to try and keep weight off

I’m tempted to be on for life if it keeps me stable

I said often on old thread - I’m so glad I did this aug 2024 on the old prices as money I could have afforded 15 now - an got to goal before they increased in sept

i stockpiled so still using that and have put in a new order from Phamalous who I was with before so hoping will approve

im def more hungry and eat well imo on 1800c a day so lucky weight seems to be balancing at the moment

CoraPirbright · 18/12/2025 12:30

@Belinda57 and @MargoLivebetter thank you so much!!

FurForksSake · 18/12/2025 13:17

Thanks for the new thread!

still happily maintaining and need to start tapering after Christmas. I’ve been on 12.5 for months and months after a brief period of 15. I’d like to get down to 2.5 and stay there. I’ll have to order in January I think, I’ve got a stockpile but want to keep my prescription active.

Thelittlestranger · 18/12/2025 13:33

Thanks for the new thread @MargoLivebetter

Checking in - I've been off MJ for 12 weeks now. Titrated down from 7.5mg. maintaining at my goal of 9lbs or up to 2lbs lower.

The last few days I have been hungry! But now the dreaded monthly has arrived I hope it now settles.

MeridaBrave · 18/12/2025 15:44

Hi. I’ve been maintaining since I reached my target in October. Just cut back to 2mg. Ask me any questions about weight lifting 💪🏻😀

OneThirdLess · 18/12/2025 16:02

Thanks for the new thread and 👋 to all my fellow maintainers.

I'm still trying to find my best maintenance dose, very slowly dropped to 3.75 from the dizzy heights of 4.25 a month ago. My exercise has been curtailed by a (minor) injury meaning I can't walk far - hoping to be more mobile by the new year, but it means burning less calories, plus it's winter and miserable out, so I want to hibernate.

As most of us have found, food noise doesn't stay away forever, so am having to find strategies to deal with it, and Christmas is a challenge. My weight is fluctuating quite a bit but (so far) I've maintained overall, so I must be doing something right.

I am finding the mental challenge of maintaining the hardest, because there's no little wins to see on the scale. I'm happy where I am weight-wise and don't want to lose any more, but sometimes I wish there was more to lose just so I could go back to the familiar zone of chasing the next mini-goal. Madness!

MargoLivebetter · 18/12/2025 16:10

@OneThirdLess well done for remaining at your goal weight. I know what you mean about not getting the hit of satisfaction from losing, but I think maintaining is the hardest part of all and that needs to be celebrated a lot! So imagine me doing a celebration dance on your behalf! 💃👯⭐

It is partly why I started the maintenance threads so that I could carry on updating and staying accountable and getting a bit of a hit for recording somewhere that I wasn't piling the pounds back on again.

OP posts:
LadyClumber · 18/12/2025 16:23

Hi! I am in the early stages of maintaining. Never went beyond 5mg and am staying on that dose until the New Year to help me navigate Christmas and keep my portion sizes under control. I am not yet confident enough to face the cheeseboard on a reduced dose! In the New Year I plan to titrate down very slowly - would love to manage on 1mg per week like @MargoLivebetter if possible. Current plan is to stay on MJ for the long term due to other non-weight related benefits.

MargoLivebetter · 18/12/2025 16:41

Lol, @LadyClumber I laughed at the way you described your cheeseboard anxiety! We will all be out the other side of the Christmas smorgasbord of temptations and then it will be January and everyone will be "being good" and it will get much easier again.

OP posts:
Zempy · 18/12/2025 16:45

I have stayed hovering between 8:4 and 8:5 for a month now. Injecting 6.25 once a week.

I am confident I can lose any holiday weight that arises!

MargoLivebetter · 18/12/2025 16:52

That's great news @Zempy ! 👏

Verbenabon · 18/12/2025 17:12

Hi everyone, I’m maintaining also but finding it hard as I’ve never needed above 2.5mg. I’d have huge wastage if I used the pens properly and within the 30 days. I’d ideally do half a dose every 10 days or so. Are there providers that offer lower doses than this now? Thank you!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2025 17:28

I don’t think any do lower or allow to microdose as still go on about 30 days max

MalteserGeezee · 18/12/2025 17:37

I've moved to oushk for maintenance and have titrated down to 2.5 after losing 24kg since February. Had a dexa scan a couple of weeks and need to improve lean muscle mass, but bone health and other markers all excellent. Would like to get down to 1mg or so for a while. Would love to eventually come off it but not sure how realistic that is
