Welcome fellow maintainers to our third thread! Tis the season to be joyful and we do have reasons to be joyful, as we are still here. Not always the perfect journey and full of treats and temptations, but we'd have nothing to talk about otherwise. So hop on the Magical Maintenance Sleigh of Wonder and lets go! (Apologies to all those reading this for the first time in March! I got a bit carried away my festive season puns.)

Why can’t you drop it at the food bank? You don’t need it, your kids don’t need it and some other less fortunate families will really appreciate getting parts of it to give to their children. Sounds like the best thing to do.

Skimmed three papers (Seo et al, 2026; Saghafi et al, 2026; Carey et al, 2022) about weight regain after weight loss (whether GLP1, bariatic or dietary)
conclusion:

  1. we’re fucked! (Or at least my genes and my inactivity means that i am…)
  2. you lose weight, your body will try to regain it and overshoot.
  3. genetics play a big part. Post weight loss the metabolic adaptation that drive weight gain will vary as much as 600calories per person (this is huge and tbis incl different factors). If you think that it will get better with time, think again. After 6 years, even after weight regain, your metabolism will still be fucked. Longest study is 24 years and still shows metabolic adaptation driving weight regain (albeit reduced). One study recommended that in average the metabolic adaptation could be mitigated by more than an hour of moderate exercise a day, every day, for the rest of your life… 😭
  4. before inflammation happens, there is adipose tissue fibrosis and this needs to be studied more as it drives up inflammation which leads to weight gain. Current studies are looking at targetting the cell composition of fibrosis so they can be integrated to glp1 and complement their impact to encourage long term weight management.

Got to do some work now… and then I think i’ll go to the gym….before reading up some more…

Thanks for this. I put information into Chat GPT (I know it tends to reassure rather than be negative) The answer was interesting but too long to copy and paste on here. Worth trying if you use Chat GPT

Help and advice needed please. At the moment I am with Pharmulous and 10 mg will cost me £244.99 including postage. Any better offers out there please? I have had a 7 week gap since last order 😱

Using the code Loyal will get you free postage from Pharmulous.

With a gap that long I would just put a Pharmulous order in as less likely to be rejected. I would order a 12.5mg saying you have been on holiday (hence the gap between orders) and put a few pounds on hence need to get a 12.5mg. That will be 5 doses of 12.5mg so so you can get 6 and a bit 10mg doses. More cost effective and can then shop around when it’s time for your next pen.

Oh no, I've won an Easter chocolate basket in a local charity raffle. It's being dropped off later today. 😆 I never win anything and only bought tickets to support the charity!

Kids will enjoy it I suppose, if I can keep my greedy mitts off it. Thing is they already have a lot of chocolate and I don't need them to have any more. But I can't drop it at the food bank as everyone knows!

Congratulations!
Just eat it over months.
Work out what needs eating first. Any chocolate won't need eating for months.
Enjoy your prize with your family. You won't put the weight back overnight. You can still have treats. We need to get a new mindset.
I have lost 83lbs it is not going back on overnight.
As long as I only eat 10% upf it is fine.
Treat yourself it is ok 😊😋

OneThirdLess · 28/03/2026 16:23

Thanks for the suggestions! The basket is thankfully not that big. There's an extra egg each for the kids, some chocolate bars which I can earmark for Easter baking and some smaller eggs & treats which I can share out when the kids have friends over for an egg hunt.

@FurForksSake That makes sense, I'm just reluctant to do it as we've always just let the kids eat their treats in their own timescale (within limits of not making themselves actually sick). The same quantity of treats, so when they're gone they're gone. Growing up, treats were eked out over weeks with one small chocolate a day (or whatever) and I'm sure it contributed to my food issues as I was constantly longing for more and not allowed. Now I can have a few at a time I find it much easier as when they're gone, they're gone, and the food noise is less.

@Merlin23 that mindset is the key isn't it! Still working on it. 😄

Azuresky68 · 29/03/2026 14:51

Many thanks @Choux for your help. I used the LOYAL code to get free p&p so my 10 mg pen is costing £239.99 from Pharmulous..waiting to see if I get approval 🤞

OMG, do I have a delicious protein snack for you all. Went to Aldi and got these. As you can tell, I’ve scoffed them. 134 calories and 14g of protein and DELICIOUS! I don’t know if they are new or you’ve all been eating them for ages but I’ve just discovered them 😋

Yes I’ve had the green pesto ones lots

was so keen on these or the blue ones

daffodilandtulip · 26/03/2026 21:46

Five foot. Just about. Probably not even that now 👵🏻

I’ve shrunk too🤣

Nearlyhadenough · 30/03/2026 06:32

hi everyone,

Those of you with Pharmulous, what was your maintenance consultation like? I need to book one as I have about 4lb to go.

Placestogo · 30/03/2026 08:58

@Nearlyhadenough i spoke to a man and he was kind and caring. Not like those faceless weight checking calls.
i was able to ask questions and felt he was supportive, interested and non judgemental

MargoLivebetter · 30/03/2026 09:17

@Nearlyhadenough mine was fairly low key. The guy who did my consultation was polite but definitely wasn't doing any deep diving or digging. He ran through all the information I'd already put in online and said that they would be in touch to arrange a video call with me getting on my weighing scales at some point. That has yet to happen. There was an opportunity for me to ask questions, but I don't think I had any.

My good news is that after about two months I am back at my goal weight and no longer floating anywhere in the zone of tolerance! Military grade calorie adherence, more protein and I got there! And of course my half dose of MJ every week. I hit goal back in January 2025, and I've had pounds creep on a few times now and I've managed to get back. I need to have more faith in myself that I can do this and not get so anxious and stressed about it.

That’s great @MargoLivebetter and gives me hope that maybe I might actually be able to do this long term! 🤞

I’m currently maintaining by having 2 big overeating/binge eating days a week then eating very low calories the rest of the week. I really want to change this, give up the binging and just increase my calories every day in a healthy way. I’ve accepted that this will take time though and I’m in it for the long haul so don’t need to rush anything. Small changes along the way for now, no self flagellation when I do slip up, continuing the daily exercise (even if I have had a binge) and eating as cleanly and nutritiously as possible when I’m able to. I will do this!

MargoLivebetter · 30/03/2026 10:19

@MummyInTheNecropolis thank you and sounds like you have a long-term plan and strategy in mind. You'll get there. You have already achieved so much that will give power to your mental elbow, as and when you are ready.

Thelittlestranger · 30/03/2026 13:44

@MargoLivebetter well done you. I'm currently just above my 2lb zone of tolerance by a 1lb, so am focused on no alcohol or chocolate during the week, more protein rich snacks - so less UPF all round, and tracking my cals again for a few days. I'm much happier at the lower end, than the top end.. otherwise I obsess.

Azuresky68 · 30/03/2026 16:33

cupfinalchaos · 29/03/2026 22:03

And me!

Azuresky68 · 30/03/2026 16:38

@MargoLivebetter that's great news! I stayed at my preferred weight from August to December 2025 ..been on 10 mg for all that time. Gained about 7 pounds beteen December and February after 5 weeks of holiday but back down now with only 3 pounds to get back to my preferred weight. Still on 10 though and desperately want to reduce for financial reasons...will see how it goes over next 6 weeks...another holiday coming up!

ShrankLastWinter · 30/03/2026 22:40

You will, @MummyInTheNecropolis! You’ll find a way to factor in your need to sometimes overeat into an overall healthy diet. Sounds like you’re already doing ok on that, actually, even if you want to even things out some more.

What do you mean by binge? Is this a social meal where you go for seconds and dessert even if not necessarily or a on your own binge of mostly carby junk food. I often do the former and I think that’s not terrible. If the latter it’s less ideal and likely need to find strategies to address.

I wish it was the former - I’d be fine with that. Sadly it’s like I have something sweet and then just can’t stop myself - a whole packet of biscuits, couple of creme eggs, a slice of cake, then another, and on and on it goes unfortunately. If I don’t have the sweet stuff in the first place I’m fine, I just can’t seem to have one treat and then stop.

I’m in my 3rd week of trying to maintain my weight loss, I’ve dropped to 10mg and I’m still losing, I wanted to maintain at 9st 10lbs and I’m now 9st 6lbs. I’ve upped my food intake over weekends but am very careful during the week. Should I drop my dose to 7.5mg or try dosing every 8 - 9 days? My biggest fear is the food noise returning but I have to address it at some point 🥺

20bloodypounds · 31/03/2026 14:05

@MargoLivebetter Military grade calorie adherence This is what I need to do. I'm 2lbs over the top of my preferred range (still within an acceptable healthy BMI) and I know i just feel better and more mobile and more motivated at the lower end.

I know what I have to eat (and not eat), and those 2 lbs have made me determined to follow through on that. It will not become 4 lbs.

Hangryfastjo · 31/03/2026 14:08

Hello all, I took my last jab on 01/03/26 and although food noise is back and im feeling hungry, its all manageable.
What is am struggling with is a really low mood, very emotional and just a feeling of instability. Is there any info anywhere about this? Or is it nothing to do with stopping mounjaro?
Shotsy says I have 0.08mg in me. I was on it 13mths.
One of the first effects I felt when I first took it was a stabilised mood, and anxiety no longer going 0-100 in 30seconds, so that is making me feel more miserable. Will it level out?

Azuresky68 · 31/03/2026 14:10

Just to let you know my last order with Pharmulous was delivered on 10th February and my next order has been accepted for delivery on 1st April. They asked about the gap and I said I had a stock of pens that I had been using up (true) and in future I would be ordering every 5/6 weeks. No proof required, although my previous pen was from them. Good news!
