Welcome fellow maintainers to our third thread! Tis the season to be joyful and we do have reasons to be joyful, as we are still here. Not always the perfect journey and full of treats and temptations, but we'd have nothing to talk about otherwise. So hop on the Magical Maintenance Sleigh of Wonder and lets go! (Apologies to all those reading this for the first time in March! I got a bit carried away my festive season puns.)

Morning and merry Christmas!

@Itisallgoingtobeok I've been off for 3 months so far and not gained. I am keeping a watchful eye, have a pen in the fridge as insurance and on Oushk maintenance as security. Christmas is going to be a real test for me, I'm hoping I pass with flying colours. Only that I can relax, enjoy myself and get back into it afterwards. That's the real test for me...

Enjoy your days all!

Itscoldouthere · 25/12/2025 08:57

Merry Christmas

I’m looking forward to our Christmas lunch today, I love the tradition of the big old turkey. I shall enjoy a bit of everything.

I’ve broken my final, final upper weight limit of 60kg, I’ve been 61kg for the last 3 days, I’m currently not letting it worry me, I’ve decided I’ve been suffering from diet fatigue, that’s why I’ve allowed some not as good food sneak in and been feeling down about it for the last couple of months.

The mind is a powerful thing, so I’m planning to try and stay positive and get back to checking my food properly from next week, I’m pretty sure I’ll be back on top of it quickly.

Hope you all have a fun filled day.

FurForksSake · 25/12/2025 10:05

Merry Christmas! I was supposed to jab on Monday but didn’t and didn’t want the heartburn to be worse. I’m going to jab tomorrow night.

we went to family yesterday and I ate what I wanted but portions were pretty small. I don’t know how much I ate but it was t awful!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/12/2025 10:42

I seem To be a rare breed and can
eat carbs tho Weigh out pasta

OneThirdLess · 25/12/2025 21:56

It's over and I'm in bed already. I managed a healthy breakfast, a sensibly portioned Christmas lunch (plus dessert) and far, far too many chocolates, sweets and sugary carbs. Tomorrow is another day.

This is a little bit yuk but - I've had more sugar today than I have in ages and my teeth were properly fuzzy by the end of the day. They're not normally that bad at all and I can only assume it was all the extra sugar. (They feel so much better now they've had a really good brush)!

Tohaveandtohold · 27/12/2025 10:36

Hope everyone had a nice time celebrating Christmas. I’ve had a busy week of eating out, one of my kids also had their birthday and i made a yummy carrot cake which I can never resist so I’ve eaten so much of that too and then Christmas with all the food it involves. I still exercised 5 days this week. I think I’m lucky as I don’t drink alcohol because even with all these, I’ve only gained 2lbs these 2 weeks which is my normal fluctuation and I’ll deal with it in the next 2 weeks.
10.5 months now without the jab and I’ve gone through all the holidays or events jab free so I’m happy with that and now know what works.

Thelittlestranger · 27/12/2025 13:52

That's brilliant to hear @Tohaveandtohold I'm 3 months off and you share my feelings on being able to get through holidays etc without it. I haven't weighed for the last 3 days and don't plan to for a few days either. I ran every day for the last three. Let's see how I do by the time work begins again, and I'll know if I can do this solo.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 29/12/2025 06:04

@Sadteacher and @OneThirdLess - thank you for your replies, and congratulations on your losses :)

@Thelittlestranger - I have a maintenance call with Oushk in early January. I am hoping they will accept me so I can have an insurance against any weight drift upwards. Were they helpful? I've been with Boots all the way through, but they don't have a maintenance plan.

I definitely need to ramp down to a lower dose, or preferably stop. I a getting hungry again, although I would say "appropriately" hungry. The trouble is that even being hungry I can't face eating. I didn't have this problem when I was actively trying to loose, so not sure what is going on.

Thelittlestranger · 29/12/2025 09:28

I had the maintenance call back in June when I originally went on their taper plan. They were helpful for me, in that they confirmed the plan I had already out, and they gave me discount codes. I haven't used them all, as I ended up not buying more than two more orders (one of them had two pens in) before coming off completely.

Hunger does come back, as does being happy to snack when food is in front of you. For some reason I thought it wouldn't - perhaps I assumed that being slim would automatically give me the approach of a naturally slim person. It hasn't!!

MargoLivebetter · 29/12/2025 09:32

Welcome @timidviper and @Itisallgoingtobeok . I took a few days break from all things online, so sorry for the delay in saying hello and thank you for coming to join the thread of maintenance 😀.

You'll find pretty much every type of maintainer on here I think. Plenty going without, those tapering down, those on a lower dose than they were on, and I think there maybe one or two like me who are now microdosing.

How's everyone managed? Those posting so far, it is all sounding very positive. I have eaten a little bit more than I would usually but I've also done lots more walking too, as I've not been working. I'm still well inside my comfort zone weight wise, although 2lb more than I was this time last week. I am feeling fine with that and know that once the endless round of feasting stops and I'm back to my normal routine next week, it will all feel much easier again. I am very glad i decided to go back on a low dose, as I know that the food noise would have overwhelmed me otherwise.

It is very comforting to know that this is the second time I am not starting a year hating myself and hating being overweight and about to embark on some hideous diet. I shall be celebrating that on NYE!

Merry Christmas! My first planned week of not jabbing. I'm coming off in order to go onto ADHD medication.
Dose diary thinks I've got 1.81mg in my system, it will almost be gone by mid January so we will see what happens then.
I've been putting weight in over the Christmas period, I haven't found 2.5mg useful in terms of avoiding binges so we will see what the difference is when it's totally gone (although the ADHD medication is designed to combat the binges so I may not know)

Itscoldouthere · 29/12/2025 11:26

@MargoLivebetter that’s a great thought about not starting the new year feeling fat, also second year for me, but last time I was mid journey and losing weight every week and hardly drinking so it all felt great.
This year I’ve found it harder, have eaten chocolates and drunk more alcohol and exceeded my top end weight barrier by 1kg, but I know I’ve been suffering with winter blues and diet fatigue and I think I’ve been a bit iron deficient as I’ve had really bad restless legs for the last month which has been effecting my sleep.
So I’ve started taking liquid iron and I’ve got straight back on to my exercise routine and I shall stop drinking once I’m over NY, I feel very much like I’m aware of what’s not working and positive that I can fix it, still jabbing really helps me feel I can do it, my goal is to be microdosing at some point next year 🤞🏻
@tinyemmy good luck with your ADHD meds.

OneThirdLess · 29/12/2025 20:51

Oh wow yes @MargoLivebetter- for the first time in forever I'm not starting the new year thinking I should be resolving to lose the weight, but knowing I'll fail. (Last year I was actively losing). I guess my NY resolution should be "lift heavy weights".

I went out for afternoon tea with family today, was lovely but obviously not in any way healthy and hardly any protein. Still feeling full so had a just had a protein drink for tea. Then got to wondering... would I have been better off to skip the drink, as it took me even further over my calories? Or should I have the shake because I've had hardly any protein today?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2025 23:26

This came up on timehop.

So did today’s weight as well

hopefully next year it will say the same

it’s all very well losing 4s 5lbs in a year

but keeping it off is the biggie

Itisallgoingtobeok · 30/12/2025 08:45

@Thelittlestranger - I am very worried about the food noise coming back, but I think I am just going to have to face it down. I am so happy too be the size I am now, I feel so much better. I am hoping the is enough to keep me on track. I have joined a gym, so I am also hoping that will help.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 30/12/2025 08:48

@Blondeshavemorefun - those photos tell a massive story don't they? I am worried about maintenance too, particularly after I stop completely. I am prepared to do what it takes though, so if I need to go bacon MJ for a while, then I will.

Thelittlestranger · 30/12/2025 09:28

The food noise was always worse when trying to lose weight, because any minor slip ups would mean a fail for that week. Being able to be a bit looser with it in maintenance feels a bit more manageable, if that makes sense?

I'm also starting to get to the point of looking forward to a bit more structure with it all again next week.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 30/12/2025 09:41

That’s a good observation, I hadn’t thought about it that way.

Yes. I’m on 5 from 15

ive maintained 10.4 for 6mths while lowering so I know I should try 2.5 for bank balance and to maybe come off it but tbh scared

I don’t want to be obese again. Was 17s 4 lbs and 38 bmi and quite frankly I was very fat

but never saw it but now looking back at pics I am omfg 😳😳😳😳

my health is better - lost weight as have hip issues and as single parent now I have to be the healthiest I can for my young child

if I have to stay on 5 I will but be a struggle financially

Happy New Year's Eve!!

Well, I finally plucked the courage to weigh myself this morning. Delighted to report that despite repeated trips to the pringles/ twiglets bowl, randomly munching on gingerbread men, mince pies, etc, I haven't gained a single ounce!! Mind you, my smart scales tell me that I have gained fat and lost muscle but marginal amounts which I expect to be able to reverse over the next week. Feeling more confident now about starting to titrate down.

@Blondeshavemorefun - are you thinking about going straight from 5mg to 2.5mg? I am on 5mg and currently planning to titrate very slo-o-wly (eg 5 to 10 clicks per month) in the hopes of getting to 2.5mg or lower without too much food noise/ damage. Like you, I am willing to stay at the higher dose if necessary but would prefer to be on a lower (cheaper) dose!

Well done @LadyClumber
What scales do you have?
I am looking at the Renpho ones basic but do more body analysis than my scales I have been using which just show weight. I don't want to spend a lot but I would like to know more.

LadyClumber · 31/12/2025 13:27

@Merlin23 - my scales are the Renpho MorphoScan. I’m not sure how accurate they are re fat/ muscle percentage, bone density, etc but I find them useful to chart trends. I bought them a few months ago when they were on sale - hopefully, they are still available at a discount because the full RRP is quite pricey for a set of scales!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/12/2025 16:57

@LadyClumber yes I plan to try 2.5 out of my 10 in jan. So Friday actually …….

yes it means using it way over the recommended period but fine with that

as if I struggle then I can still order a 7.5/10 and use as a 5. Does that make sense

if 2.5 means I still keep the weight off as i have the past 6mths - I may then try nothing but that makes me wary so much …..

guess will see what happens

i dont really want to be on it forever but equally I need to make sure I’m healthy for my daughter esp as a single parent now

so if I do need to stay on 2.5/5 I will but manage costs via doing it from a 10

Kittkats · 01/01/2026 09:03

Can I join? I’ve been maintaining since 10th October on 2.5mg, gradually spacing longer between jabs. I was down to 10 days, decided not to jab or weigh over Christmas (so now 3 weeks since my last jab), and have weighed for the first time since 20th December today to find I’ve gained 9lb.

Entirely my fault, I’ve hardly drank water (and that’s an instant 3lb gain for me usually) and haven’t tracked calories. There has also been wine. And a raspberry roulade with cream. And cheese.

Im back to tracking and water from today, though looking at my fridge cheese may remain a dietary staple for a while (but less of it!).

I’ll decide in a couple of days whether to jab or not.
