Welcome fellow maintainers to our third thread! Tis the season to be joyful and we do have reasons to be joyful, as we are still here. Not always the perfect journey and full of treats and temptations, but we'd have nothing to talk about otherwise. So hop on the Magical Maintenance Sleigh of Wonder and lets go! (Apologies to all those reading this for the first time in March! I got a bit carried away my festive season puns.)

Hi, coming over to join you. I’ve hit my goal for now, wouldn’t mind a couple more kg but as my body has a slight melted candle look in places I think I’m currently more about keeping up strength/conditioning work and making sure my diet composition is OK. Not young, but hoping for a bit of bounce-back on the skin front over time. I’m working down through the doses, so far so good.

Sallycinnamum · 21/12/2025 13:09

I took my last dose yesterday as have now reached 9 stone and really don't want to lose anymore as I am starting to look a little haggard in the face! Plus the costs are just too much to literally swallow each month.

I have allowed myself a half stone wriggle room but I am really worried about piling the weight on again.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/12/2025 16:40

Forgot to say. My 10 arrived from pharmolous - didn’t have to do a video. Just a photo in clothes with the date on paper

they seemed fine with a 4mth gap as I had a stockpile

also got £10 off with Dec 10

im taking 5 from a 10 to make Costs ok

hopefukly after Xmas I will drop to 2.5 and see how that is

I’ve decided if I have to be on it forever I will as losing 7s has made a diff to me life and health and esp for dd8 - then I will and £240 for 10 but over 2 mths so £120 a month £25 ish is worth it as spent over tbsp in takeaways

5 has def made my appetite more but I’m still eating in my cals and kept at ballpark for over 6mth - I was on 15

if 2.5 works ok then will buy a 5 and split so cost being £164 so £80 a month and £20 a week

IncaAztec · 21/12/2025 16:57

Can I join...I've been on MJ for 15 months at 5mg per week or so and lost 3 stone. Due to cost I'm trying Wegovy at 0.25 per week so far. I suspect folks can maintain at lower doses but how low that dose can be...I'm not sure...we shall see!

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/12/2025 20:49

I think it’s def easier to maintain in a low dose v trying to lose weight

i had to get to 10 to feel anything

Flannelfeet · 21/12/2025 21:19

Hi ladies, 👋. I have been on mounjaro for 5 months and lost 3 stone. My plan was to go to 10 and a half stone but I feel I wont suit that given im tall. I was 13.9 when I started and only got on the program due to underlying conditions. I spoke to my pharmacist as I buy it in the local chemist about dosing once a fortnight and micro dosing and she said I can't do that as its dangerous. Are there any of you girls doing this? Im interested. I only went up to 5mg but now back to 2.5.

Merlin23 · 21/12/2025 21:50

@Flannelfeet
I am on my second 10mg pen but only taking 5mg per week and taking the extra dose by syringe. I have maintained my weight loss and saved money by using the pen longer. I have a 7.5mg pen in my fridge which I am going to use for 2.5mg to help with maintenance.
I think I read that Oushk let people buy a pen for maintenance and use it over 2 months by using less than the full dose.
Hope that helps

Tohaveandtohold · 21/12/2025 22:10

Lovely to see you all on this new thread. Marking my place here and all is still going well with maintenance, I’ve been off the jabs for 10 and half months now and still averaging 8lbs less than my last MJ weight. First Xmas without the jab and I’ve been eating some more treats but I’m making sure that I’m balancing my calorie intake. Still exercising 5 days a week and my mindset is even if I gain weight this Xmas week, I’ll just knuckle down next week, the same way I did after going on holiday so I’m not too worried as the treats will all be gone then.
Merry Xmas to everyone celebrating and happy maintaining

A few of us do

none of them will say it’s ok

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2025 00:20

@Merlin23 Oushk have said yes to micro ?

Slowrunning · 22/12/2025 06:52

Hi all, just checking in to the new thread.
I have been officially maintaining now for a couple of months, still on 10mg but planning a long taper down to zero over the next 6 months.
Still calorie counting, though more relaxed about it now. Struggling with not chasing a loss every week but loving all the new size 8 clothes from Vinted 😁. Looking forward to a good wardrobe clear out over Christmas. Anything that is not a good fit is off to the charity shop in January.

Merlin23 · 22/12/2025 08:26

That is what someone on another forum said. As long as you keep it refrigerated

Sadteacher · 22/12/2025 08:39

I’m wondering how busy it will be to order after Christmas. I’m still hopeful I won’t put on too much. The last week of term was busy but have been to the gym 3 times despite feeling tired to counteract the chocolates.
I am still toying with trying to get a new prescription despite being off 7 months. I am at the top weight of my comfort zone and worry about having no leeway, a half a stone less would be perfect. But then I’ve been worrying about that for 7 months and have saved myself over £1000. I wonder if there will be any offers for lapsed buyers to lose any Christmas weight . Probably not…

MargoLivebetter · 22/12/2025 09:12

Great to see lots of new maintainers! Welcome @Inthezonenow , @Sallycinnamum , @IncaAztec and @Flannelfeet . I really hope I haven't missed anyone! Congratulations on all that you have lost and here's to a happy slim Christmas and not feeling fat in January. Please keep us posted on progress.

@Sadteacher flipping fantastic that you have achieved 7 months off MJ. Don't forget that the whole world makes an effort to "be good" in January, so it will be much easier to avoid temptation too. Do you think it is worth hanging in there and saving more money? I can't remember what dose you got to when you were on it originally?

I micro-dose @Flannelfeet . I personally can't see how taking less of a medication can be dangerous, but I fully appreciate that a pharmacist couldn't condone using it in a way that is not in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. I keep my MJ in the fridge and I am like some kind of OCD nutcase about being as sterile as possible when I inject, as I know the pen is going to have to last me longer than the recommended guidance. So far no problems. But I'm definitely not suggesting that anyone else should do that, I am just relaying my own personal experience.

Glad to hear that you had further success with Pharmulous @Blondeshavemorefun and that you are managing to stay within your calories even at the lower dose. Fingers crossed you will get down a bit further to save yourself more money. I'm wondering if I might also have to stay on the low dose I'm taking for life. I am just so my happier without the relentless food noise. I don't know! Or maybe I come off in the warmer months where I get less food noise and go back on each winter. Gah, who knows but at least I have options.

I went up a dose every month. I was lucky to not have too many side effects but also was a fairly slow loser. Highest weight loss in a week was only 2.5lbs the first week. Half a pound to a pound every week after that. I honestly think it is because I’ve always eaten healthily so no dramatic lifestyle changes occurred. I just need smaller portions as I am short.
You are right @MargoLivebetter, Jan is a motivating month to be healthy. I think it is just hard not to think about weight, when that is all I’ve thought about for years!

I wouldn’t tell them microdosing, just do it and take a break in ordering if needed. I’m using Swift, I order 5mg pens and use for a couple of months. I’ll take a break in ordering at some point (likely back to 2.5mg for first pen after break)

JBJ · 22/12/2025 12:58

Hi all. I’m not actually at goal yet, but only a couple of stones to go, and I’ve got a backlog of mounjaro in the fridge, so starting to think about where to order from for maintenance!

Currently using a 10mg pen, but taking 5 lots of 8mg out of it (48 clicks), as 7.5mg wasn’t quite enough and 10mg gave me problems with constipation. Thinking about maybe ordering a lower dose pen from Pharmulous, as I’ve got 19 doses at 8mg left in the fridge (20 if you count today’s), so hoping I’ll be pretty much at target my the time that’s finished and don’t want to leave it too long in between ordering, as don’t want problems finding somewhere that will take me on.

I think I’ll have to be on Mounjaro long term, and I’m happy with that, but any recommendations for anywhere that’s happy to prescribe for long term maintenance would be welcome!

FoxRedPuppy · 22/12/2025 14:52

Has anyone got a funny/sharp/blunt mumsnetty type response for people asking about WLI over Christmas? I’m going to DP family. They have seen me a while back and know I’ve lost weight. But there might some others there who haven’t or will just ask outright.

Added to this there will be judgment and no doubt a mansplainy lecture about them. I’d like to avoid!

At the moment I have the classic “did you mean to be so rude?”

Inthezonenow · 22/12/2025 15:01

Are you planning to tell them you’re on wli? I don’t and have found that most people lead with “How did you do it”. I jump in quickly and say “By eating less I’m afraid, it’s really boring. I’ve always exercised but it turns out I can’t lose weight just with that”. I find that people don’t tend to probe further. Also, the answer is completely true.

FoxRedPuppy · 22/12/2025 15:10

Yeah that’s what I usually say. I don’t want them to know as they will be weird about it.

Just concerned that one will ask me outright.

Inthezonenow · 22/12/2025 15:26

I would certainly be prepared to outright lie if necessary!

Merlin23 · 22/12/2025 15:26

I'm honest with people. I work in a nursery and we had a Christmas stay and play and many parents commented on my weight loss as I haven't seen them since their children moved into a different room. I was honest which meant I found out lots of them had used mj or had just started. One dad had just started (NHS) on it and quizzed me about my experience. It was lovely to have open conversations about mounjaro.

If you don’t want to admit just say - yes I’m eating less and moving more.
