TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/11/2025 12:34

Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

And once, I decided to try 20mg.
It's a dose which some doctors use off-label (so it's not an OD as such) and I found the suppression was a lot better.

Not surprisingly.

Checking in!
Still buzzing at being under 100kg for the first time in ages! I feel like the last time I weighed this amount I was around 15 or 16 years old.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne sorry I didn't realise I was on the old thread! "At home you'd have access to e.g. loperamide and senna yourself." I have access to everything here too don't worry, they're excellent. The ward doctors have and give anything you need. (Private hospital)

@Snowcat5 I can relate as I am also autisitic and have had eating problems my whole life i.e nothing wet. Can you put into ChatGPT what you can eat and ask it to make you some suggestions of meals that hits your food groups?

I've never used chat GPT.I wouldn't know what to do
I'm back on salad sandwiches with some protein and home made soup ,so I won't starve .. plenty of me still left

Snowcat5 · 01/12/2025 14:07

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/12/2025 12:50

My adult son (aged 39) has ARFID @Snowcat5

He lives on Huel nowadays. That's all he'll eat apart from chips and the occasional vegan burger.

My daughter too ,has vegan huel and a personal trainer who tells her what to eat and what exercise to do ...thats a recipe for me to do the opposite,as soon as I'm told to do something.i think huel is meant to be very good ,my daughter got a free t shirt with hers

Snowcat5 · 01/12/2025 14:09

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/12/2025 12:59

@Snowcat5 isn't it awful, having to constantly think about things like scratchcards! I like them, and do my best not to buy them. But when I do, and if I win, I feel fab. Temporarily lol.

You sound so like me. And your family. We're all autistic apart from one daughter.

Same ..6 in our family ..3 with official diagnosis and 3 who need official diagnosis ..

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/12/2025 16:03

My son's also got a free HUEL t shirt.

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments, I’ve had a shitty day today and you’ve all cheered me up so much! I’m off to pizza express for dinner tonight, I’ve really gone off pizza since being on MJ, just find it too stodgy but it’s DD’s favourite so I’m gonna have a leggera pizza which is 500ish calories. Going to the cinema afterwards to watch Wicked, I’ll be knackered tomorrow!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 01/12/2025 17:28

@mamabeeboo saw your victory on the scales on the previous thread - that’s amazing! Bet you feel on top of the world 🎉

Iwouldratherbesinging · 01/12/2025 17:41

Ladies… can I ask a personal/embarrassing/weird/hilarious question please. I don’t even know if anyone can answer! You know the saying ‘my bum is eating my knickers’, well I’m sort of having that issue but it’s not my bum, it’s my vulva (crikey, it’s out there now!). Everything down there feels different and feels like things are just hanging around if you know what I mean? My thighs no longer meet at the top so that will make a difference, I wear ‘proper’ knickers that fit perfectly but I feel like I’m always having to dig out the seam of my leggings/jeans/tights and it’s starting to get both uncomfortable and annoying. Has anyone experienced this? It’s only been in the last stone or so.

hopefully everything will firm up in time like my turkey neck did 😂

PearlTeapot · 01/12/2025 21:02

@Iwouldratherbesinging I have no idea but I love this thread and our ability to ask any question possible, someone will be along who knows!!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I have a 5mg pen so please tell my maths was right and 36 clicks was 3! I feel fine today, hungry as always.

I managed a walk today. It was raining so I felt proud of myself for forcing myself out! Only 18 minutes but it'll do. Gotta get my body moving again. And it was freezing. I would have stayed out longer but my poor 121 who was escorting me was shaking to her bones.

Yep, your maths was right 🥰 well done for trying out for the walk, getting outside and getting your body moving can really help your mental wellbeing. DH has just gone back to work after just over a month off due to mental health and even though it was work that was making him anxious, being back in a routine and getting out of the house has been so good for him this week. It's hard to make the first steps towards it though so we'll done for those 18mins!

I was reading about all of the crisp habits and reflected on a NSV here. For me it was more chocolates I would eat all in once go before even though I would be feeling sick, like 3 of those hotel chocolates selectors all at once.

Anyway, I did a big order for some Christmas stuff from a big London food hall and they put in a free box of dark chocs, about 20 of them. Before they’d have been gone in a day. Well I can only stomach one or max two at a time and actually enjoyed them (not usually a dark chocs fan) and they are still going strong 5 days later, and my DH has had half of them!

Also I am going to confess another issue that has been improving after @Iwouldratherbesinging was so open (sorry no idea on your issue either!). The last few years I’ve been getting spots / cysts/ boils on my vulva, like 3 or 4 at a time, new ones starting before the old ones healed, excruciatingly painful. I finally dragged myself to the GP about it last year and she said they were caused by normal skin bacteria and nothing to be done, gave me a wash that’s didn’t help much and sent me on my way. Well in the last 2 months they’ve got less and less and I’ve even had a few weeks with none at all which has been such relief. I am sure they were caused by being so overweight and too sweaty or some such. Sorry totally TMI but I have no one IRL to be happy about these things to!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 02/12/2025 10:46

weigh day for me today, 1.6lbs off which puts me in the 10 stone bracket now!! Just by a smidge mind you, 10 stone 13.8 lbs! Never in a million years did I ever think it would be possible, but I’ve proved to myself that it is… if it is for me then it is for all of you too 🌟

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 i used to suffer terribly with boils and cysts, started about 38 years ago with my first pregnancy, I’d get them in all the places where I have lymph nodes, so I feel your pain, the only thing that ever made a difference for me was using Hibiscrub and I’m too scared to stop using it. I wonder if I should slowly wean myself off skin off of it, I haven’t had a flare up for a couple of years now but they have left some ugly looking scars.

@PearlTeapot I do so hope you get home for Christmas, it’s on my Christmas wish list x

Fffreeeeezing · 02/12/2025 11:04

Anyone had issues with office chairs and comfort? I have a brand new chair at work but for some reason it's causing me sooooo much pain, I just don't know why! The pain is in my hips, my arse and all the way down my thighs, when I get up I literally have to hold on to furniture/walls to walk as I'm so stiff and achy. I'm not even sure it's a specific chair problem, currently sat on my home office chair and this used to be comfy, but it's not anymore. I spend most of my working day on the sofa as it's the only time I'm comfy. I swear my shoulders are aching as well and that makes no sense at all!

Anyone tried one of the many many seat cushions on Amazon and found a good one?

I really don't believe at over 18st still that I've got a boney arse, my mum actually laughed out loud when I suggested it 🤣

Lds1 · 02/12/2025 12:07

@Fffreeeeezing you might need to readjust the chair to fit your new size, I had to make mine lower and back straighter I assume as I'd lost fat.

Weird things I've found, I've had less spots on my back and shoulders, I used to get some really angry ones. Also it's more difficult to shave under my arms which is something I wasn't expecting.

I went shopping yesterday, I went in some shops I wouldn't have dreamt about going in before which made me uncomfortable and I didn't try anything on as I still wasn't sure what would fit. Maybe next time.

HelpMebeok · 02/12/2025 12:45

Hi everyone. I started at the beginning of February and I'm currently at 5 stone off. Starting way it was 21.7 and current way is 16.7. I had stayed the same since the beginning pf October but in the last few weeks I've lost 2lbs a week which I'm thrilled with, I don't restrict any food groups but just eat what I fancy. I'm hoping that once I've got the next 5 stone off I can go down to a maintenance plan. I do think I am learning new habits, although the jabs have enabled me to do this..
Some very inspiring stories on here.

TragicMuse · 02/12/2025 13:14

I think potatoes are my nemesis. I had a baked potato last night, this morning I am 1.5lbs heavier than yesterday!

Fingers crossed it resolves itself tomorrow/soon!

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 02/12/2025 14:28

@Lds1 I had similar experience in the shops a few weeks ago. I’ve lost 3.5st so far and come down from size 24ish to 18/20 I think. First of all, I noticed that there’s still a lack of clothes in those sizes to try on. You can find them online but not on the shop floor. Secondly, I was debating size 16 but I don’t know what to buy and what suits me. I’ve been wearing jeggings and tunics too long.

I need some new clothes soon for work though. I only go to the office now and then but the current ones are getting a bit too baggy. I’ve been checking Vinted for smaller sizes of the ones I’m wearing now to save some money but I would like to wear something nice too!

I wish I knew what my nemesis was! Every bloody week I lose weight for my Sat 'official' weigh in, then gain Sunday/Monday/Tues, then start losing slowly Wed-Fri before ending up with a decent (ish) loss on Sat again. No idea what's causing the fluctuations - today I am 0.6kg heavier than Sat despite only eating 1000-1200 calories each day and going for two couch to 5K runs 🤷

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 02/12/2025 15:47

@RenegadeKeeblerElf Fluctuations through the week are compeltly normal. Our body can store water/fluid for all sorts of reasons and it's rarely a direct cause and effect. It can help some people to either weight weekly or plot the lowest number each week or even look at it over a month.

It did used to really get to me early on but I saw a lot of people's charts and now even having whole weeks that go up or sts don't really phase me as I know the general trend is down. You can plot the results on an app like shotsy and then see a "line of best fit" as to how it is going.

For me zoomed out it looks like a near straight line. But if you zoom into any month or week it will show the ups and downs.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 02/12/2025 16:01

@PearlTeapot Well done for the walk!! I too hope you're home for Christmas. 💐

I find the autism link fascinating. Also ND family and I work in the area too. I guess it's a mixture of the issues around autism and eating AND the type of people likely to appreciate an anonymous online support thread maybe?

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 So glad about the boils! I compeltley love that we can be open here.. I realise how easy I find er... Washing.. In the shower now and I jump in and out easily. It used to be such an effort and I'd be worried about "a fall" and it really was hard to reach some areas properly. 😳.

@Iwouldratherbesinging Wow! 10atone something. I'm so excited for you. That really is my goal although I'm aware I may need to settle. I'm soo nearly 13atone something and hoping I'll see faster progress on my stomach as it drops further...

I'm a size 18 in some things but still scared of shops until I drop further. And my stomach is still round so probably only size 18 there in the dresses I wear/vanity sizing

I do now own a "slip" though!

And I am sooooooo freezing at work. This is new to me.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/12/2025 16:13

I'm freezing in bed.
I miss the warmth of my husband.

I don't miss his snoring though

Still haven't heard a word from him. Was wondering if he'd be lonely on Christmas Day but I actually DGAF.

I'M STILL ANGRY WITH HIM!!!

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/12/2025 16:15

So anyway.
I now wear a nightdress, a cardigan, pyjama bottoms and bed socks in bed.
I also have a hot water bottle and an electric blanket.
