TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/11/2025 12:34

Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

@GnomeDePlume Good for you! I'm also down 6 stone and I find that exercise is so much easier and actually enjoyable.

@mamabeeboo why thank you. Next gym session is tomorrow morning. My plan is to go 3-4 times per week, starting at 6am as DH heads off to work at that time. I'm not expecting the gym sessions to increase weightloss of themselves, more to generally get myself moving. I have lost 6 stone and now need to get in better shape.

@PearlTeapot mounjaro definitely impacts the absorption of medication as well as the weightloss itself. Mj slows digestive transit but eating different things can impact as well.

My thyroxine prescription has gone down but my warfarin prescription has gone up plus my related blood tests have become much more variable where previously they were very stable.

I hope your healthcare team are able to find a solution which works for you.

Yes it’s worried me that it hasn’t been mentioned sooner? I’ve got a new consultant now as mine has gone off sick and it’s the first thing she’s jumped up on. But everything seems so murky around it and nobody seems to want to make decisions.

I have heard of that ,but thought it was what children had ..it didn't occur to me an adult could have it ...no idea why not
Sorry to hear you have similar difficulties..it does make life harder

My partner is Arfid as part of his autism, 53 so definitely an adult. KFC McDonald's are his foods of choice, but he diex eat his own homecooked version now as wrll. He xa. Also manage Indian and Chinese occasionally and has a rice cooker and a wok

I was musing about weight loss and energy, and wondered what people's experiences were here? I often see people posting on WLI threads that they are lacking in energy, either they feel from not eating much or from the Mounjaro itself. I have never had a correlation between eating and energy levels, other than I generally feel much more alert and active whilst in a calorie deficit and on Mounjaro. But that seems counter intuitive to me!

But undeniably, I do more exercise and general movement than before, which started in the first few weeks. I get antsy if I haven't been for a decent walk, or done a run, and will walk short journeys rather than drive if at all possible. The only thing that puts me off doing that is the dark rainy afternoons/evenings at the moment.

Does anyone else feel more energised when in a calorie deficit, rather than lacking in energy?

I. Sorry to say I love yhe feeling empty, both feeling and this field energised me. I've I wake up needing the loo I feel heavy and lethargic and my day will often continue in that vain. But if I wake up empty I feel great and jump out of bed. If the scales also weigh light I will likely have a great day

MummyInTheNecropolis · 05/12/2025 06:26

Weigh day for me today and no loss, but no gain either so I’m trying to look on the bright side! I have been out a couple of times this week so have eaten more and drank more alcohol than usual. Can’t help feeling a bit frustrated with myself though, I’m only 5lbs from target and really wanted to get there before Christmas! Going to really knuckle down this week, I don’t have any social plans this week so hopefully will be able to shift a couple of pounds 🤞.

eibbed999 · 05/12/2025 06:54

Weigh in day, and I'm finding this tough now. I'm one pound off having lost 5 stone in total since I started on March 23. That would be fine, nice and steady, except that's not how it's been - I lost 4 of those stones between end of March and the end of July. Since July 31 I have lost 13lbs. That's well over 4 months to lose less than a stone. I'm on 10mg and couldn't eat less, it wouldn't be healthy. I'm on an average of maybe 1300 calories a day, which puts me well into deficit. I exercise, albeit gentle stuff like yoga and walking, I drink water. I feel like I'm doing everything I can but for some reason it just isn't working any more. I am still getting the suppression, which helps because I hate feeling out of control with food and MJ has been a blessing on that front, but the weight loss has stalled. I know ups and downs are normal, but seriously, 13lb in over 4 feels so slow (and expensive). I know from reading your stories that it's also natural for it to slow down as you near target, but I am nowhere near that - I'm dead on 17 stone when even the upper range of a healthy BMI for me is 11st 8.

Sorry to have a whinge but I know you won't mind - let's face it this is the only place a lot of us feel comfortable blowing off steam, or discussing our vulvas! Luckily my vulva is ok, and much as I'm complaining here, I do feel a million times better, and massively value the small wins like fitting in the bath, being able to cut my own toenails, and wipe my arse without becoming a contortionist! Onwards and downwards. Hopefully I'll shift a pound by next week and hit my 5 stone mark, and sneak into the 16s. I think I'm just a bit down because I've had a good week and 100% expected that this morning!

SW: 307LB
CW: 238lb

Doggymummar · 05/12/2025 07:50

It is frustrating when you have a stall but just keep going it will drop eventually. I've been stuck at 160lb for six months now but I trust the process, it will move eventually. I also stuck at 200lb for 9 months last year. Coming up to three years in March having started at 242lbs I think it was

Crikey, that's quite a stall - thanks for that, makes me feel less despondent!

Missingducks · 05/12/2025 08:36

@eibbed999 I wonder whether some of the stall is now muscle rather than 'excess' ... I am not even down to 20stones yet but I have calf muscles I can feel ... So whilst the weight may be the same, the body composition is likely to be healthier?

Well I haven't done anything to build extra muscle but who knows???

Lovetoridemybicycle · 05/12/2025 08:50

I have a similar situation. I lost 3 stone between Jan and July, but since then it's been about 12lb. With times within that when nothing has moved for about 3 weeks. I'm 'trusting the process ' and figure it's time that my skin can catch up! I will up the dose from January to see if that helps but I love a Christmas party and have a couple of crackers to go to....

Good idea to view it as time for my skin to catch up!

Billybingbong · 05/12/2025 09:15

Morning all. Week 35 and I've had a bit of a whoosh this week. 4lb off, total 5st 13lb. I'm still on 5mg, and tried to move up last month, but had horrendous side effects. So I dropped back down to 5, and started to jab every 6 days, which seems to be working well. Only 1lb to my 6st Christmas target!

Its been another crappy week. Im still feeling very low after both my boys moving out last week, plus lots of other family shite to deal with, it's just relentless at the moment. But I'm out tonight with work. Just a low key meal and a few drinks, but having swerved the last few years, I am determined to enjoy this one. I did a last minute panic buy in Next last night, a lovely pair of size 18 trousers, but I'm not sure if I'll wear them or not. I have no idea what suits me these days, I was 20 years younger when I was last this size! I need a personal stylist 😊

SW 22st 8lb
CW 16st 9lb
GW 11st 4lb

Have a great week everyone. And to those who are struggling, keep trusting the process, it will happen ❤️

GnomeDePlume · 05/12/2025 09:22

I am having to keep the faith at the moment.

But I do wonder if there is something about having lost a bit of weight which means our bodies need time to adjust before carrying on with the next weightloss phase. I like to think my organs are having a project management meeting, assessing resources, assigning new tasks.

SilenceInside · 05/12/2025 09:59

Week 74 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 71.9kg (11st 4lbs), was 72.2kg (11st 5lbs)
GW: 65kg (10st 3lbs)
BMI: 26.1

Current pen: 10mg, 30 weeks on this dose.

A small 1lb ish loss this week. I have been lower and higher on my daily weighings, so I will take it as a loss happily. I am so keen to get my BMI to be 25 point something, and it seems tantalisingly close at the moment. I can't really believe that my BMI was 50 and is now almost half that. Seems crazy and unreal sometimes.

Billybingbong · 05/12/2025 10:04

@GnomeDePlume oh I love that idea, although I suspect my body would be put on performance management review due to lack of effort

"Right you lot, final warning. This month we want to see a marked improvement
Legs & feet - move more
Belly & hips - more shrinkage
Neck - less turkey, more firming
Boobs - Erm, beyond help, you're sacked"

Hehe, if only it were that easy 🤣

PearlTeapot · 05/12/2025 10:36

Beyond help you’re sacked 😂 that’s mine 😂

well done losers! Stalls must be so hard and I send internet hugs to all struggling.

@Billybingbong have a great time xx

Fffreeeeezing · 05/12/2025 10:56

@GnomeDePlumeI'd love to be in that project meeting although I think it'd be very different to yours @Billybingbong

Heart: ooh I'm enjoying this, everything's good

liver: all good here too

kidneys: well I'm bloody exhausted, I'm doing overtime coping with all that extra water she keeps drinking

skin: WTF

brain: I don't know what has happened, where I am or what day of the week it is, I'm confused, also exhausted. And who is that person in the mirror?

Lds1 · 05/12/2025 11:16

Does anyone else sometimes just wear baggier clothes when they see people they haven't seen for a while so that you can try and avoid the whole weight conversation? That's my tactic today, I just CBA with people today generally, but the thought of all the questions is making me dread it even more.

SilenceInside · 05/12/2025 11:29

I sometimes wear lots of layers @Lds1 if I'm not feeling like I want to be noticed. I know that there are some extended family members who I will see over the Christmas period who haven't seen me for 6 months plus. I think they will be a bit shocked as the difference will be much more noticeable for them. But I also think (hope!) they won't say anything, as they are quite reserved people and we don't usually discuss anything like that.

No, I love wearing close-fitting clothes now.

When the occasional person comments, and asks me how I did it, I just tell them I've been eating less and walking more.

Both of which statements are true.
I'm definitely walking more now that my husband has fucked off with the car.

It was when I was 20st + that I hid under baggy things.

Oh I do wear more tight fitting clothes every day (I even finally bought some non wide leg trousers the other day!), it's just today I'm seeing people I haven't seen for a long time and I can't be bothered with talking about weight. People I see regularly aren't an issue.

SilenceInside · 05/12/2025 12:13

I just hope that the people that you are seeing are able to hold back from commenting @Lds1 , or just do the thing where they say how "well" you are looking and leave it at that.

Billybingbong · 05/12/2025 12:16

I usually like to wear smaller tighter fitting clothes to show off my weight loss, the only exception being when I am seeing my MIL. She is incredibly outspoken and judgemental, and has opinions on everything with zero filter these days. I just can't be arsed with her unwelcome comments, so its easier to just throw on a big baggy jumper and let her think I'm still the overweight frump she's always labelled me as.

Christmas day will be fun. Half my extended family are on WLI, so I'm sure it will be mentioned at some point. My poor old MIL won't know who to pick on first 🤣

Do you know, nobody has told me that I "look well".

They just seem to come straight out with: "wow, you've lost weight!"

Followed by: "how did you do it?"

And then I say: "diet and exercise".

And they say: "oh, so you didn't cheat and get the jabs?"

Which is exactly why I don't tell them about MJ. I'm not getting into that conversation. I've had it once, with someone who started off with the old

"but nobody knows what's in them"

and I'm not going down that conversational route ever again.
