@cobblers00 glad to hear you’re feeling ok so far! I had a pretty quick change to my hunger/food noise feelings; normally it is a major effort not to eat everything in front of me or go for seconds, but I haven’t finished a meal since the jab! I can hardly believe it. I dashed out to the gym this morning and trained fasted, had a protein shake and couldn’t imagine eating breakfast, so I took it with me to the kids’ training and managed to eat it over the course of the morning. So then I wasn’t hungry for lunch and managed half a sandwich. Is this what it’s like for other people? Amazing.
I have been a bit gassy with mild burps, much like early pregnancy but thankfully without the associated heartburn.
I’m a big fan of HIIT too, but haven’t trained HIIT in a while. I started weight lifting two years ago after an injury and oh my word, it has changed so much for me - no daily back pain, far fewer injuries in my main sport, and I was getting faster and much more powerful. Alas, I tore a ligament in my knee a couple of months ago, so I have been rehabbing and working around it since then - I am no where near being able to squat again yet. I’m a convert though, I do recommend it.
Start easy, use an app like Hevy to track workouts and progress. Be aware that sometimes you can train and not feel too bad, and then feel like you’ve been hit by a truck the next day (I’m hyper mobile, so easy to go beyond the proper range of motion). Start with dumbbells and machines and progress to bar bell if you fancy it. Everyone I have met has been so friendly, and I watch older women bashing out pull ups with complete awe and admiration. Being able to pull up would be a huge non scale victory for me! So much easier when you’re lighter.
And take creatine! It helps build/maintain muscle which is so important for women, especially in rapid weight loss.
