Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

I’m starting on Sunday too, also nervous.

Good luck, hope we don’t get any side effects!

McChubble · 04/12/2025 11:26

Hi everyone! I took my first Wegovy 0.25 yesterday. I was terrified but I feel fine… that said, I don’t feel particularly any different as I am hungry this morning as usual (I do intermittent fasting till 1pm) but hopefully I will feel fuller when I eat.

my BMI is 27 but I have arthritis in my shoulder which qualified. I also have many other joint issues which are being investigated, but which have meant throughout this year I have barely been able to exercise and as a result I have out on the best part of a stone. I’m over 11 stone at the moment, would like to be 10 stone so not loads to lose but it’s important to me. Last year my husband left me for a woman 15 years younger than I am, and that couple with weight gain and a total inability to control my eating in the absence of exercise has destroyed my confidence. I’m hoping to get my confidence back, but also to feel like a normal person for the first time in my life where I am not constantly miserable about food.

well done to everyone on their progress so far!

ChristmasCalsDoCount · 04/12/2025 14:54

Good luck to all those starting soon. I was super anxious about it too but bit the bullet and injected as soon as the pen came and have had no side effects. I'm jabbing in the evenings in the hope that i sleep through any of the aches and nausea that i've seen some others suffer with.
I would say for me the suppression is subtle but it's definitely there - sometimes i don't notice until i look back over what I've eaten that day.
I'm using Chronometer to calorie count and MeThreeSixty for full body measurements.

BelleEpoque27 · 04/12/2025 15:25

I'm in the office today where there are lots of snacks and treats around, and a Pret downstairs. I haven't eaten anything except a protein yogurt and a chicken sandwich. This is unheard of! Everything looks nice, I just don't fancy it...

DakotaFanny · 04/12/2025 16:15

If anyone wants it, i have a £75 off code at pharmacy2u. Feel free to DM me and good luck everyone!

Gardener82 · 04/12/2025 16:55

I’m starting Sunday, Those who are already doing it have you meal prepped like you would on a diet or are you just eating whatever you fancy but a lot less?

This! @Gardener82 you will not feel deprived.. I was explaining to my DH earlier, it just seems to turn off your food as reward receptors. You genuinely want to eat healthy foods & this is from someone who loved nothing more than a dominos meat feast or battered cod chippie dinner .. the thought of those now just is unimaginable!

@McChubbleyou WILL get your confidence back… and a new man too perhaps!!! Welcome xx

Hello I started on Monday. No adverse symptoms but I do feel less tempted to snack in between meals. I found myself wondering around the supermarket disinterested which was a strange feeling. I’ve not felt sick but I’ve been cold. I’ve been trying to focus on protein and vegetables. My BMI is high, will recalculate but I’ve lost 5stone last year and kept it off, calorie counting. I am giving mounjaro a go as I still have the same to lose again and it has slowed down.

StrongGirlsLift · 04/12/2025 18:29

@Gardener82 I made a veg and pearl barley soup to have in for lunches and made sure I had good protein sources (I’m veggie). It’s been a super busy work week which is when I tend to dopamine-seek and stress snack. I haven’t really felt the need to do that.

always wise to make it easy to make healthy choices though!

BelleEpoque27 · 04/12/2025 18:38

Completely agree @cobblers00 ! I usually bloody love junk food. It's really hard to make good choices (and I by no means eat unhealthily most of the time, so I do spend a lot of time resisting unhealthy foods).

I have genuinely just walked past M&S and thought 'Ooh I really fancy a nice salad'. Wtf? Who am I?! Is this how thin people go through life?

PersephoneSmith · 04/12/2025 21:29

Hello. I took my first dose of mounjaro on Monday. I had some diarrhoea on Tuesday but I’ve been okay stomach wise since then.

Nothing else feels different though, appetite is the same, literally nothing is different. At first I thought it must take a while to kick in so I googled it. 8 hours!
is it not going to work for me? 😕

It takes some people to go up several doses before it kicks in on MJ. Some people have suppressed appetite within a couple of hours but normal is from hours to weeks to notice any real difference.

Backonthejab · 05/12/2025 10:42

Hi. Can I join you? I was on the jabs last year and lost 8.5 stone but since stopping 6 months ago I have put on about a stone and I'm ready to tackle it plus the rest of my original goal! Jab approved this morning for delivery tomorrow so I'll be jabbing as soon as it arrives. Glad I found a thread as I found my last thread a huge help!

changedglasscat · 05/12/2025 12:03

Just sending good luck and encouragement to everyone worrying about the first jab.
Honestly the relief from the food noise and the relief from the constant sense of failure from normal dieting is just SO worth it!

StrongGirlsLift · 05/12/2025 14:41

@PersephoneSmith how are you feeling today? I recommend browsing the earlier threads for different starter clubs; lots of different responses over different timescales but generally very reassuring!

@Backonthejab wow, massive well done on your loss last time and glad to have a voice of experience on the thread. Good luck with phase two!

Jab #2 due for me tomorrow! This week has been stressful with work etc but I have found it so much easier to stick to plan. I’ve had no post-work/evening snacking except three crackers after a very long day at work on Weds in which I didn’t quite eat enough through the day. Also, no migraines yet, and amazingly my dishydrotic eczema seems to be clearing up after two years. I feel less bloated. I’m weighing in around 3lbs down so far - feels slow but if I can lose consistently anywhere near that rate, I’ll be delighted.

BelleEpoque27 · 05/12/2025 15:50

I'm only four days in and I'm noticing I feel generally 'better' - I have a bit more motivation to get on with things, I feel more comfortable in myself, and much less heartburn. Could be a placebo effect but I hope it continues, whatever it is.

PersephoneSmith · 05/12/2025 18:09

@StrongGirlsLift thank you for asking 🙂 I can’t detect any particular change but to be honest I have had a really bad day, one of my cats was run over and killed earlier so I’m very upset and distracted. Maybe I will feel something after my next dose next Monday.

cobblers00 · 05/12/2025 19:03

@PersephoneSmithso sorry to hear x

Jab 2 for me at lunchtime today.. was so much more relaxed second time round.. to the point I ate lunch afterwards & must admit I have been feeling a few waves of nausea this afternoon- also appetite suppression back with a vengeance, just as I was squeezing in more adequate calories too!! What kind of intake is everyone else managing? I’m on about 1000 calories but I’m exercising too so burning lots too I guess. I’m weighing in tomorrow - exciting! Def feel so much better in all kinds of ways & really hope it stays that way. Good luck to all you newbies!

I just had a sandwich and a yoghurt for dinner. Couldn’t finish the yoghurt. That’s a first.

cobblers00 · 05/12/2025 22:07

My husband got a domino’s pizza, I took a bite & gave the slice back to him. It was disgusting!! Really hope the clean eating will change my palate forever if I stick with it long enough.

You’re in a similar position to me then. I’ve also got a couple of qualifying conditions and want to feel healthier. Hoping to start on monjaro on Sunday. Glad you were ok with your first dose.

2026goals · 05/12/2025 22:33

Hi everyone, joining here for a bit of support and solidarity! Have been thinking about starting for ages but have a fear of injections amongst other worries which put me off. But now have high BP and other weight related health issues which have been a wake up call so need to pull my head out of the sand and sort myself out. Gone for Wegovy (for cost!) and just done my first jab. Was so so nervous and instinctively pulled the needle out after it clicked rather than waiting the 6 secs. I saw some of the liquid spurt out so I suspect I’ve under dosed?? Frustrating but now know the actual needle is ok and I think I’ll be calmer next time. 🤞 BMI was about 35 so I have a lot to lose. For now I’d like to get down to under 80kg as I know I feel a lot better at this weight. After divorce, hitting peri menopause hard and in a stressful job, I need to rediscover some confidence, get healthier and feel better about myself. Mostly I just need the food noise/ self sabotage to stop.
