@Polkadotdash not only are we birthday twins but we seem to feel the same way about Riot Women! I wanted to love it, despite the recommendation coming from someone who has missed the mark before, but it did nothing for me at all. Perhaps punk means something different nowadays as it didn’t bear much resemblance to ye olde punk that I grew up with 🤣

Just realised that I’m off to York on Friday so I’m going to have to rearrange some tentative plans I’ve made. It’s been a few years since we were in York so I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll not be bothering the Xmas market though

myladyjane · 17/11/2025 18:07

Thanks everyone. I did 12.5 (like you say @PenelopesProteinPackedParty the cost difference was like 20 quid). Ironically today I have barely eaten (just hadn’t occurred to me tbh) so definitely still feeling the effects but I checked and I’ve lost 5lb in the last month - not a dead loss by any means but I can’t help but feel a little push before Christmas would be nice.

DGonMJ · 17/11/2025 21:43

Belated birthday wishes to the twins @Jins and @PolkadotdashCake

I wrote a whole post this morning but it seems to have been lost 😞

Feeling knackered still. Weighed in at 58.8kg this morning down on yesterday’s 59.1kg. Appetite was off today, but not sure if that’s the MJ jab yesterday or if I’m coming down with something.

Having an early night and hope tomorrow is a more energetic, productive day.

myladyjane · 17/11/2025 22:10

Oh ffs. You told me this would happen but I didn’t listen. All my clothes including new stuff is now too big. Like a jacket I bought (luckily just a Sainsburys Blazer but it was nice) was so big dd laughed and has started calling me a borrower again. I seem to have missed out 14. Ordinarily I’d be happy but I am skint and I have a couple of meetings for which I need a smartish outfit and I’m down to one pair of trousers and one dress. I am going to have to do an emergency H&M run I think.

BlueLimes · 17/11/2025 22:25

I don’t have much that fits me - I desperately need new things but my shape seems harder to buy for 🤔

Aimingdown · 17/11/2025 23:49

Feeling your pain @myladyjane. I have a few things that were previously tight and didn’t hang well, but when tried on recently are suddenly baggy looking 🤦‍♀️. I have one dress with ruching that I didn’t even know was there because previously it was stretched out. Now the darned thing looks too loose - I’ve missed its sweet spot!

BlueLimes · 18/11/2025 06:43

BreezyPeer · 17/11/2025 16:10

@BlueLimes the dating has become . . . Interesting!
I did a lot of online chatting and then I met a couple of nice men through the app. One of whom wanted a more 'full on' relationship than I can offer and introduced me to family and friends really quickly, which was flattering but a bit much. Another through the app who is physically very attractive and I got on well with but has different priorities to me so I think that will also go by the by. However, yesterday, someone I have known for a while in real life asked me on a date so we'll have to see where that goes!
All in all, it's gone well but I have to say it is exhausting accessing all the emotions after years of having them safely boxed up. Xxx

Ooh this is interesting. Must admit guy 1 did sound needy.
It must be exhausting but you are being very brave.

myladyjane · 18/11/2025 07:23

@BreezyPeer I am impressed that you are putting yourself out there though. Interesting re the guy you have known for a while - I was talking to my dd about this yesterday. Sometimes things like that surprise you (in a good way).

my blazer already sold on vinted and the other one I put on last night seems popular so fingers crossed. I think I’m going to re vint the jeans I got as well. I tried the 14 in the shops and they felt a bit small on the tummy so I got the 16 on vinted. They now feel way too big - like falling down big where a belt is so pulled in it’s stupid. I’ve had them for 4 weeks and lost 5lb in that time so I am not quite sure what’s happened. Hopefully I can reselll for what I paid.

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 18/11/2025 08:23

You are a brave woman @BreezyPeer . Once or twice I have wondered if there is more out there for me that a life of mum (slightly redundant at that), soon to be empty nester and 🐈s. But I am not brave enough. Ugh, needy is not a good trait in anyone is it. Fingers crossed for a real life organic thing. 😊

@myladyjane I get it too, suddenly nothing fits well. I cannot believe that I bought a new jumper in a 16 less than two months ago, what was I thinking? Only one of those M&S merino things so not expensive, but still annoying.

Back to my lowest of 12st 8lb this morning (ha, been here before). I've looked back a month and I was 4lbs heavier, so some progress at least.

Not sure if I have said that Chez Penelope has sold again, original cottage still available, my enthusiasm for it has cooled a bit, but there isn't much else out there. Pressure is on to make a decision.

BreezyPeer · 18/11/2025 08:32

Morning 🌄 losers!
@BlueLimes @PenelopesProteinPackedParty
The dating game is a wierd one.
I really believe that so much of it is about being 'open '. It's almost as though being 'open' on the app has translated to being available in real life.
It hasn't been the sh*t show I thought it might be. I've had lovely dates, got back on the horse so to speak and I am really intrigued by this latest development.
in my cynical moments i wonder if any of them would have looked twice at me 5st heavier? xxx

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 18/11/2025 08:50

I think you are right @BreezyPeer . My delightful XH had some wonderful things to say about my fatness. A life long size 8-10 pre chemotherapy, he just couldn't cope with having a newly fat wife - I was on a cocktail of chemo, steriods, hormones - that was all. Thankfully Happy Valley had introduced a new word into my vocabulary .... Wankertron - I used it often. Our marriage was on the rocks before then but my fatness and his attempt to bully my lovely children (who were early teens and developing a wonderful opinion of their own as kids do), sealed the deal. 👞on your way chap.

I also think that I (maybe you too, I don't know) wouldn't have had the same level of self confidence/belief in yourself at 5st heavier, even though you were the same fabulous human being.

Jins · 18/11/2025 08:57

I’m sure they would @BreezyPeer but your confidence wouldn't have been there so you’d never have tried.

Congrats on the sale @PenelopesProteinPackedParty. Hope something perfect turns up today.

@myladyjane in the last 6 weeks I’ve lost 1lb. The trousers that fit at the beginning of October are flapping, the jeans that I squeezed into need a belt as I can pull them on and off without unfastening them. My T shirts are all oversized, my favourite bralette is in the bin and my knickers are falling off. I noticed the same last time I lost significant amounts of weight - size reduction follows much later than weightloss.

I’ve missed people. I’m sorry. I’m finding MN almost unusable at the moment. I’ve taken to copying my posts as inevitably I’ll have been logged out and will lose it all when logging back in

BreezyPeer · 18/11/2025 08:58

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty I agree, it's a combination of feeling confident and other people (men) finding you attractive.

If you want to give it a go I am on the Ourtime app which I am finding ok. I standby for judgy duty if needed 🤣🤣

Thelittlestranger · 18/11/2025 10:49

I was listening to a podcast earlier on my walk and apparently 80% of spouses now meet on an app, compared to 15% ten years ago...I met my husband online 15 years ago. He's a winner.

@myladyjane @PenelopesProteinPackedParty @jins it's such a weird but amazing feeling when those clothes you thought you would be in forever suddenly don't fit. Annoying, but also enjoyable and what you wanted!! So enjoy buying more - I have!! But also, you might still get smaller, so...word of caution! I went through two lots of new bras in weeks.

No weights or running today, just a dog walk. Too much else going on. But gym planned for Wednesday & Thursday.

Didn't have pudding yesterday. Today's maintenance meals include smoked salmon, eggs on sourdough for lunch and ready meal of stew & dumplings & veg for tea as I've got my evening course later.

Jins · 18/11/2025 10:52

I forgot to mention that I have nothing to report for accountabilitiy from yesterday. Feeling like I’m back in control again.

myladyjane · 18/11/2025 11:03

Ok I’ve been on calls since before 8 so I’m taking a brunch break. I am pleased I did because I can share my vision for you @PenelopesProteinPackedParty

you will revisit the cottage, decide that it will be perfect with some decoration and a new luxury bathroom. The walls will be all farrow and ball soft and soothing colours, harmonious with your peaceful surroundings. The kids will continue to grow, study and create fascinating lives, returning to see you frequently, typically on a Sunday afternoon. You will have a cat. One room will be all snuggly with a beat up sofa covered in beautiful blankets and throws. Books on every wall. Lamps in corners. This will be your reading/hobby room. The work will reduce slightly but will be lucrative and interesting. You will have plenty of time to garden/do hobbies/spend time with friends.

As part of the move to the new place, you will meet an age appropriate silver fox of a man who is appropriately unattached. He will wear a checked shirt and when you first meet him you will have a minor disagreement about something. you won’t initially realise he is very wealthy (I am thinking widower with adult kids who ran a successful business but has now stepped back to enjoy life). You will keep bumping into him then slowly get to know him, culminating in a torrid affair, mostly doing it in the afternoons (when the summer comes around, you’ll do it outside a lot spontaneously, avoiding any unsightliness or insects). He will WORSHIP you as you deserve and will be happy to whisk you off to fancy places but all on your terms.

i do t know if I have mentioned it before but my husband is a great fan of Hallmark Christmas movies….

HeidiLite · 18/11/2025 11:06

but, but, does the Silver Fox have a Christmas tree farm?

myladyjane · 18/11/2025 11:10

OF COURSE

or some time of hobbit outdoorsy business. He’s good with his hands ;)

BreezyPeer · 18/11/2025 12:57

@myladyjane @PenelopesProteinPackedParty that's the best prediction of the future I've seen in a long time. Love ❤️ it! Xxx

HeidiLite · 18/11/2025 14:36

Weight had gone upwards over the weekend, no wonder.
But increased calories must be at least partially going into muscle mass? I mean look at this:

2025istheyeari · 18/11/2025 15:09

@myladyjanei LOVE that!! Keeping everything crossed it all comes true for @PenelopesProteinPackedParty!! Good news on the house, really hope it works out and you either love the cottage or find somewhere better!

@BreezyPeergosh that’s a lot with dating, agree on first person, needy not a good look. See how things go with the person you know, could be fabulous! how's the interviewing going?
@DGonMJhope youre feeling a bit better, lots going around at the moment.

@myladyjaneclothes are weird aren’t they, you can literally wake up and they don’t fit anymore, I don’t understand it at all. My bras which I spent a fortune on are v gapey at the top now 🫣. I don’t really know what size I am anymore in those or clothes!

OMG @HeidiLiteis that you???? Wow!! You are incredible!!!

HeidiLite · 18/11/2025 15:33

yes the less you have to lose, the more drastically each pound affects your body size and clothes size.

Jins · 18/11/2025 16:09

Thanks for the pic @HeidiLite. I feel even worse about my upper arms now 🤣.

Change of plan and we’re going to York on Thursday instead of Friday due to the weather forecast. I’m not complaining - it’s another day I don’t have to do housework in.

NSV. Just got back from the dentist and it’s the first check up since starting MJ. Huge improvement in gum health. The dentist asked what I was doing differently but the only difference is MJ. Must be the anti inflammatory effects I guess

HeidiLite · 18/11/2025 16:51

@2025istheyeari you missed the memo, I am a lazy slob who should just get off the sofa and take a little walk. Or as I was schooled on another thread, lifting 1 kilo weights for 30 minutes would make all the difference, wouldn't need to cheat with jabs!

Jins · 18/11/2025 17:21

😮. Seriously???

cracking advice there @HeidiLite, I hope you’re taking it on board.
