I’ve done a full week of no pen and have still lost a couple of lbs.
Tracking on MFP
Trying to remember to drink loads of water
Going to the gym 3-4 times a week.
Focus on protein, low carb, high fibre.
I’m slightly apprehensive about the cravings coming back in a couple of weeks time. Will keep you posted!

Clumsykitten · 12/04/2026 11:16

Hiya. I dropped off the thread a bit but I’m still here. Well done everyone especially those still dropping or maintaining. I’ve sort of been pausing a bit. I think I need to up my dose to 5mg but I also think I urgently need to start doing some weights or I’m about to lose all my muscle!

narcASD · 13/04/2026 09:20

@Clumsykitten definitely start weight training, it really changes your shape too, sadly I put on 6lbs whilst off MJ so started a new pen of 7.5 Saturday.
@StrongLikeMamma that's great if you continue like that then I'm sure you'll be fine, I went completely wayward and returned to nighttime binge eating, which lead to me gaining, need to reset myself as I felt awful.

@Lovesabadboy have a fantastic holiday! I started at the same weight as you and am now 12.3 so I k ow exactly how you feel about the embarrassment of being so big! Definitely enjoy yourself, like you say you don't need to gorge yourself but at the same time you want to indulge, cruises are renowned for their amazing buffets.

@narcASD Thank you so much!
I know I am still actually in the obese category and have a long way to go, but already I feel a bit better about myself.
I am looking forward to not having to think about meal-planning, cooking and washing up for a week!
Well done to you too... are you at goal?

narcASD · 13/04/2026 13:03

@Lovesabadboyi hear you about the meal planning / cooking etc, i hate it!
Not at goal yet, want to lose another 20-25lb I'm now in the overweight category but was high end obese another stone will take me to top of healthy weight!
enjoy your cruise! 🚢

Thanks, yes I think I need to start to feel a bit stronger, now I’ve lost a good 13kg and am in the overweight category. I want to be strong and fit not smaller and stil flabby!

StrongLikeMamma · 13/04/2026 21:44

Week 2 of no jabs and am still down in weight but had a real craving for chocolate this afternoon! Ate some chocolate covered almonds then gave the bag to DS to stop me polishing it off!

Have realised that I had stopped munching my nails and fingers to pieces since being on WLIs. Have munched them to shreds this week. Think this is undiagnosed ADHD. The quieting of my brain was nice whilst it lasted.
Have been to the gym and kept calories down. So happy about that.

Well done for being in the Overweight category!
I still seem to be nowhere near that because I am so damned short - 5ft 1inch. 😣My BMI seems to be taking AGES to come down and to get into the healthy range seems to be such a ridiculously low weight that I am not sure I will get there. At my age, being too skinny would not look good!

Don’t beat yourself up. As long as you’re going generally in the right direction you’ll get there!

It’s actually healthier to lose slower. You might have more chance of maintaining then too.

I’m definitely happier being in the higher end of a healthy BMI or I look too skinny. I want to look strong not skinny!

narcASD · 15/04/2026 21:10

@Lovesabadboyim short too, slightly taller than um you at 5ft 3, I think I'd look unwell at lower than 19st which is what my BMI says I should be, saying that, I've never been 10st so don't know how I'd look 😂 I'm 48 too so my body going downhill, that's why I've started weight training as I want to avoid saggy / skinny look.

I lost about 3 stone about 20 years ago (although I started at a lot lower weight!!) and got down to 9 stone...which, 20 years ago, looked fine!
However, it was hard bloody work to maintain that and I did it unhealthily on Slim Fast and low carbing. I was also going to the gym 3 times a week, swimming a mile twice a week and spinning twice a week...plus still doing the school runs on foot AND I had a little dog-walking business at the time, so my step count was immense!
At 58, I just haven't got the energy for all that now! 😂Plus I had a medically induced menopause at 47 years old which did my weight and shape no favours at all!!!

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 21/04/2026 09:46

So, nearly 8 weeks into maintenance and I am a few extra pounds down that I won’t worry if they go back on.

i’ve stuck to injecting on a 4/5 day basis but have brought the dose down a little after the side effects around Easter - I’m currently taking 35 clicks from a 7.5 pen, and planning to drop that a small amount every few weeks to allow me to see how each reduction impacts.

@SexyFrenchDepression- I missed your post. But yes it hi no the side effects were the dose was too strong so I have / am reducing to try to find the right level.

The hard part is trying to gauge the impact of exercise on tdee as I have just retired and have more time for activity and exercise now as well, so I find myself tracking food and drink but to make sure it’s enough rather than having a deficit.

Im almost 6 months into maintenance now, a little over 3 stone down and MJ has had other NSV for health as well - my asthma is much better with no exacerbations last Winter, and general aches and pain from my back are almost no existent. I’m averaging around 15,000 steps a day, gardening is much easier.

I have no current plans to stop, just to keep on reducing dose and see how things go - I am certain I would rather stay on MJ than put the weight back on.

cheekysausage123 · 22/04/2026 07:27

Sounds like you’re doing really well @putthehamsterbackinitscage good work!

How’s everyone doing? My weight loss has slowed right down (1.1lb a week average since October) and I’m still on MJ 5mg so moving up to 7.5mg shortly. Still glad to be 34lb down though!

@cheekysausage123 1 lb a week is still a good loss. That's what I've been averaging so well done.

I'm 2lbs from goal so starting to seriously think about maintenance now. I am planning on staying on 5mg mounjaro and injecting every 2 weeks, but I'll see how that goes. My biggest concern is how I am going to increase my calories. I've worked out my TDEE and its coming up with 1600 calories which seems like a lot.

At present I don't eat lunch only because there's nothing I fancy at that time of day. I have a banana or apple if I'm peckish so I think that's where I need to add a few more calories. I'll be honest this is a bit of a head fuck. I've never actually got as far as maintenance before when losing weight the many times over the years, but at least I've got the security blanket of mounjaro this time. I intend to stay on it long term as it has been so good for me in lots of ways, not just weight loss. Physically and mentally I feel so much better than I have for years.

Sorry this is such a long post 😄. I've been having a lovely time on Vinted though, buying and wearing clothes I could only imagine wearing before. Also being able to sell all my big clothes that I have no intention of ever wearing again.
Would love to hear how the rest of you are doing.

jaelato1 · 22/04/2026 21:41

Well done @putthehamsterbackinitscage

@cheekysausage123 1lb a week is solid loss as we get closer to weight goal, the weekly big loss decreases apparently.

@Shitzngiggles You are almost at the finish line so well done to you and I understand what you mean about jumping straight to 1600 feeling like a lot..mentally it can feel like stepping off a cliff after being in a deficit for so long.

So I'll suggest reverse dieting instead of going straight to maintenance (That is what I plan to do when Iam at weight goal) by increasing your calories week by week by 50-100 calories at a time. That way your body adjust slowly and it feels less overwhelming mentally too. It also helps yoy figure out your true maintenance rather than just replying on a calculator as it can be a bit off sometimes.
Also vinted is the best! Nothing like wearing things you never thought you would.

I am losing about 2-3lbs per month now but i dont mind because I know I am going through body recomposition (my activity level is high) so I see my body shape getting more defined but scales are not reflecting it yet. I now wear size 10 or Medium from size 16/18 😱

Hiya
Hope everyone’s doing ok.
Just thought I’d drop by for an update.
I last jabbed on 29 March. I stopped because I kept being violently sick every few days then every day.
Turned out it was gastro paresis brought on by the GLP1s.
I was pretty much at target so decided to go cold turkey. But it didn’t stop for a full 4 weeks. Until the drug had totally left my system.
Went to the Dr last week and have had some bloods done to check for various things, but am feeling much better.
I know my body is really sensitive to hormones - hence losing 3st on 2.5mgs.
I’m still the same weight thank goodness!
Tracking cals and continuing with the gym. I really don’t want to put the weight back on. But there’s no way I could continue taking it. I’m going to have to be extremely vigilant.
Am going to try to find my perfect TDEE.
Am definitely eating more but was finding it really hard to eat more than 1000 cals a day on WLIs so that’s just not sustainable.
It’s definitely been a learning experience and I’m delighted with the weight loss.
Hope everyone is moving in the right direction 😊
