Off on holiday today - all inclusive for a week… going to trust the mj will keep me in range 🤞

After nearly 4 weeks in maintenance. I seem to be stable at about 1-2 lb below target but this is the first proper test… Can I stick to portion control when generous portions are freely available, and can I make good choices….

Shitzngiggles · 29/03/2026 10:18

Well we are coming up to 6 months on our weight loss journies. How is everyone doing. I've reached my initial goal of 3 stone lost, I've now set a new goal for another half a stone which will give me a bmi of 22, so smack bang in the middle of the healthy range. Amazing to be back in size 8 clothes (I'm 5ft 1) at the age of 63! Never in a million years did I think I'd ever fit in that size again. I feel 20 years younger, have so much more energy, no more aches and pains, and loving the gym again. All thanks to mounjaro 😀. It has been truly life changing as I'm sure it has for all of us. Thank goodness for Vinted though!

narcASD · 29/03/2026 14:23

Well done @Shitzngiggles amazing, I'm still 2st from goal but hit the 4st weight loss mark, lost another 2lb in the last few weeks, coming off slower as no longer on MJ, aiming to lose 1lb a week until my holiday at the end of May.

Well done @Shitzngiggles… it’s fab to get back into stuff that hasn’t fitted in years…. I have been through my wardrobe clearing out everything that’s now far too big, and have now got back into some items that were favourites maybe 15-20 years ago, as well as my stash of thin jeans.

I Got back from holiday on Tuesday. A week of AI and I have maintained at the bottom of my target range. I stayed on the same jabbing routine, ate well but small portions, drank mostly gin or wine, and didn’t eat if I didn’t feel hungry - so skipped breakfast or lunch some days, but had 3 course dinner every night. Moderate exercise some days and very little on others as it was a cruise with some sea days where I pretty much sat around reading.

So, if you are off on holiday soon, it’s not as difficult to stay on track as you might think!

Hope everyone is enjoying some sun this week… finally Spring is here! Next challenge…. Easter 😉

Hi all, I’m still here and slowly plodding along, my losses seem to be between 0.5-1.5lbs it’s taken u til now to lose 20lbs but I’m slowly shrinking. The side effects are so much better and I don’t really get many now like I did at the start and I was contemplating stopping MJ so glad I got through it. I’m currently on 6.25mg and have been on that for 11 weeks. I do get inconsistent supression but when I do get it I feel so full and I’m still losing weight so it’s silly to move up a dose I think. I still have about 16-20lbs to lose but I’m going to go by how my clothes feel if you know what I mean.

Tell me how is everyone? Anyone still losing? Anyone at maintenance
xx

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 03/04/2026 12:30

Hi @Elliebearbluesgreat to hear you are still here and doing better with side effects. If you are losing steadily, stay where you are and just keep plodding on - you will get there.

i reached target about 5 weeks ago, and am still feeling my way in terms of maintenance. I just got back from a week of all inclusive holiday, and didn’t gain, and if anything now, I probably will need to drop my dose as I have lost another 4lb below my target. It’s really strange trying to eat to maintenance and cope with activity levels as well.

i plan on staying on jabs for now - the guidance from lotus is when you’ve been stable a while, then you can try reducing down. As I’m still losing without really trying, I’m going to reduce a bit then stay at a constant dose for a while.

i don’t remember ever being this weight as an adult, even as a teenager I b was at least a stone heavier….

4 stone, amazing, well done. I'm also going on holiday at the end of May for 2 weeks. Funnily enough I always seem to do ok on holiday and tend to manage to not overdo it. What I am starting to get a bit nervous about is maintenance. I'm only 5lbs off my ultimate goal so its getting ever closer. I've never been able to actually maintain before and always immediately started gaining weight. I'll be staying on the jabs though so my worry this time is I won't be eating enough to maintain. I've only ever stayed on 5mg so I'll either go down to 2.5mg weekly or 5mg every 10 days.

Calyx72 · 04/04/2026 22:36

Well done everyone
like @Elliebearblues I have lost about 20lbs in the 6 months but I have stayed on 2.5 throughout and am going to stay on until I have lost another 20 or 25lbs to reach healthy BMI
Was 179lbs now 156lbs
Aiming for 142 or stretch 135lbs as I am 5’2”

cheekysausage123 · 05/04/2026 16:25

Well done all!

Had lost 32lb but just back from a week in Spain AI and managed to put on 4lb! I’m hoping some of it is water weight. 😅😂

StrongLikeMamma · 05/04/2026 16:53

Arrrgh I don’t know what to do.
Since trying 5mg last month (Am back on 2.5mg this month)
I keep having vomiting episodes about once a week. It’s a huge bloated belly accompanied by acidic indigestion pains, then vomiting. Am fine afterwards just exhausted.

It’s been linked to eating fish every time, then last night I had veggie sausage, egg, beans and halloumi for dinner and woke up in pain at 2am.
I’ve lost 40lbs now and my BMI is 24. Had hoped to get 6 more lbs off, but am seriously thinking of coming off now. It’s just really horrible when it happens and quite unpredictable. I’m not eating large amounts.

I’ve not ever felt like I want to be on meds indefinitely. Just thought I’d probably continue until summer. And maybe give myself a buffer. But am thinking of continuing to count calories, eat high protein, weight train and see how I go….
Anyone else thinking of coming off?

jaelato1 · 08/04/2026 14:54

Well done everyone 👏

@cheekysausage123 deffo water weight, should come right off within the week

@StrongLikeMamma Maybe reduce your dose to half of 2.5 for 2 weeks before coming off completely to prepare your body for it or you can go for it.

Still off MJ and losing fat....few more pounds to go now

Was wondering about jabbing every 2 weeks

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 08/04/2026 15:21

General wisdom on the maintenance chat seems to be drop dose rather than extend especially if you get side effects…

Might be best to drop to a low dose then monitor side effects to work out what you need or can tolerate?

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 08/04/2026 15:43

I am finding now I am target that I do need to reduce - side effects last week of stomach pain /cramps but no d&v…. So reduced next jab and a lot better, so will now experiment to find what dose doesn’t give any issues….

Are the side effects since you have been at your target weight, so potentially due to you taking too high dose of the jabs whilst being at a low weight?

Am considering just coming off to be honest. I really don’t especially like the idea of being on them forever.
Suppose I could try 1mg … does anyone have any idea how many clicks that is?

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 08/04/2026 17:26

What pen are you using? To work out clicks, 1/dose *60 so if a 5mg pen it’s 12 clicks or if 2.5, it’s 24 clicks.

I’m on a 2.5.
I guess I could try 30 clicks to keep it simple.
Have messaged the provider to see what they think. I imagine they won’t approve of counting clicks!

narcASD · 09/04/2026 09:19

Morning all I've caved and ordered another pen as I've put on 7lbs I'm sure it's not all fat as I've been weight lifting but I literally cannot stop eating junk.

well done @jaelato1thats brilliant are you still intermittent fasting?

jaelato1 · 09/04/2026 10:47

@narcASD yes, still fasting. I also noticed weight lifting messes with weight/scale because of water retention so i'm sure the 7lbs is not all because of junk food. I almost caved too when the scale keeps fluctuating but I started measuring my waist instead because I heard it's the most accurate way to measure progress when more active, soon after scale also moved.

narcASD · 09/04/2026 11:31

Thanks @jaelato1ill measure as it's really demotivated me although I don't feel bigger if that makes sense, I'll do the one them order a lower dose to taper off, I've noticed my sleeping pattern has gotten bad again after stopping MJ, I thought I could go cold turkey but appears not!

jaelato1 · 09/04/2026 12:09

We are all in this together, trust me there are days I want to give up but instead I indulge my craving on those days and reset the following day.

If it helps, I didnt go cold turkey, i think tapering down is more effective and helps your body feels more prepared that way. In terms of sleeping, I found MJ messed up my sleep and now I sleep better. Also if you are not sleeping very well, then your cortisol level will be high which also means another layer of water rentention.

narcASD · 09/04/2026 17:52

Thanks @jaelato1thats helpful to know, I have felt utterly awful since stopping, so weatherly awaiting my pen, I've ordered a 7.5 as was on 10, then do another pen at 5, maybe I'll need to stay on 5 for a while.

Bit of an NSV today!
I am going on holiday next Saturday and rang up my insurance company to advise them that I am on the WLI.
What I wasn't prepared for though, as part of their script they actually ask how tall you are and how much you weigh! 😩
My NSV was that (although I still have about another 1.5/2 stone to lose) I was actually not embarrassed to reveal that I am 12 stone 4lbs. Back in October I would have been cringing myself inside out when having to declare 15 stone 9lbs!!

I am actually going on a cruise and am a little worried about weight gain with all the lovely food! I am not going to be stupid and the MJ will control that for me too, but I am going to indulge a little in some treats as it is my first holiday for a while (and my first cruise ever!)
