@putthehamsterbackinitscage @StrongLikeMamma Thanks both and congrats for moving to a new stone and I think that sounds like a great plan @StrongLikeMamma

I have lost another 1.5lbs this week and I still haven't used MJ this month at all infact I have totally forgotten about it, still eating in deficit easily and doing cardio/strength training 5 - 6 times a week. Last week I did go up by almost a pound because I introduced heavy weight training to my regime, so I knew my body will hold water but I am back to losing again.

How is everyone doing?

@jaelato1excellent to lose and not be using MJ, that's really reassuring to know as I'm filtering down now, I've become a bit addicted to the gym which is really paying off as now a comfortable size 14, (also can get into a 12 at a push) down from size 20. Lifting weights and also doing 20-30 mins cardio at least 3 times a week but mostly 4 times.

My turkey neck getting me down a bit as it really ages me, hoping in time it'll look less noticeable, my legs are so skinny compared to my middle, hate being apple shaped but looking bs k at photos when I first started I realise how far I've come.

hope everybody is doing well.

Guys, I had a bit of a mishap and forgot to pack my pen going on holidays… I had a total panic as I was already a few days overdue for an injection. I ended up ordering a pen to be delivered and have got back on track. I’m noticing I can still lose slowly even with a bigger gap, so that’s a bit hopeful for tapering (after another 10-15kgs!)

I’m going to do a big push on diet and embedding habits. I’m noticing I’m craving protein so that’s a bit hopeful. Also when I grab a snack it’s more likely to be protein. A big yummy chopped salad with loads of protein and an avocado is now my default lunch too.

That’s reassuring! Gotta love a massive salad! 🥗

StrongLikeMamma · 15/02/2026 18:07

God had some more violent vomiting the other night. Am going to jump back down to 2.5 and leave it an extra day this week to try and clear my system a bit.

I’m definitely thinking about which habits need to be imbedded before coming off!

gym / exercise
walking in the day
focus on protein
small portions of healthy carbs to support training and muscle retention
no alcohol

It’s funny, because “massive salad” is a MN cliche, but it doesn’t really look like a salad, more like a plate of yummy things!

I ageee! I love tuna, boiled eggs, olives, capers, artichoke hearts, radishes - things like that in my massive salads 💚

cheekysausage123 · 15/02/2026 22:41

I didn’t mean to post that on this thread, was my daily food intake. 🫣😅

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 16/02/2026 07:09

Hope you’re feeling better today @StrongLikeMamma

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 16/02/2026 07:11

@jaelato1 that’s fabulous progress - and without jabbing - well done!

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 16/02/2026 07:37

Had a few days away last week so no weighing and it made me nervous but all good …. Down another 1.6 lbs this week. Only 2lbs to goal now 😃 and over 2 st 8lbs lost.

ive been thinking through what to do from here and I don’t feel ready to taper - I know I still need to build better habits in terms of consistency with exercise, and I could so easily be tempted when others around me are snacking (though DH has now pretty much finished off Christmas chocolate etc). We’re also retiring early in a few weeks and have a mix of holidays, caravanning etc planned so I know the shift away from routine may.be challenging too.

I’ve been jabbing around 5.75 every 5 days but still getting milder side effects day 2/3 - works out to around a 7.5 mg dose but spread so the peaks are lower. On reading some older threads on split dosing, and playing around with a calculator, I am thinking of switching initially to a 4mg dose every 4 days and then see how maintenance goes - it should mean a smoother profile over the week and is still approximately the same 7.5mg dose.

my initial plan is to go into maintenance on a steady dose and work out calories and exercise - a work colleague quit cold turkey and ended up restarting after a couple of months as his weight was going back up. He then found the lower doses ineffective and needed to get back up to 10mg before noticing much impact.

I may stay on long term but certainly will carry on for some time yet.

jaelato1 · 16/02/2026 12:50

@narcASD Congrats you! size 20 to 14 is crazy, incredible!! Gym has become my happy place too, I used to hate going to the gym but I guess it was becuase I felt too big and out of place. My first gym legging (size 14-12) is now too big, got a new one now size 12-10.

@Clumsykitten I hope you have great time away, craving protein is amazing.

@StrongLikeMamma Hope you feeling all better now? These are all great habits to embed. I have upped my carbs to 70-80g on weight lifting days and I eat half a banana pre 5k run day - I havent ate banana since on MJ until recently because of it high sugar but needed that extra boost on run days.

@putthehamsterbackinitscage 2lbs to go..wow. Congratulations, you should be at your goal weight by end of the month. I'll suggest you start by using same dose but extend frequency to 6 days while eating at maintenance kcal, see if that works. Then reduce to 5mg every 5 days then try the 4mg. Going from 5.75 to 4mg might be a challenge, I'll suggest you reduce it bit by bit, nothing too aggressive until your body start to adapt to tapering down.

How’s everyone doing guys?

Plodding along here, still on 5mg and losing 1-2lb a week again so I’m happy. Hope you’re all ok.

Same here on 5mg and losing steadily. Only 6lbs to goal but feels like its still a long way off.
Had a great nsv though. I've always wanted to wear a jumpsuit but being overweight (well officially obese) and only 5ft 1, I knew it would look ridiculous. Well I bought one in a size 10 and I have to say I feel bloody good in it 😃.
Thinking about going up to 7.5mg as suppression not so good right now but would rather stay on 5mg.

cheekysausage123 · 21/02/2026 09:47

That’s brilliant @Shitzngiggles well done you, on both the weight and the NSV.

StrongLikeMamma · 21/02/2026 15:13

Great NSV @Shitzngiggles 🙌
Have had my eye on jumpsuits too.

Am about to go on an amazing hot beach holiday (birthday surprise from DH) and have just ordered a bikini for the first time in about 20yrs! 🙈😬
Crossing my fingers it works. But have also ordered some beautiful one pieces to try on in case I’m not quite there yet 🤣🙄

StrongLikeMamma · 21/02/2026 15:16

@jaelato1back down to 2.5 this week and feeling fine. Thanks for asking x

I am thinking of trying to slow down the loss for the last 11lbs. Am aiming for 0.5-1 lb loss a week now. Hoping this helps with nausea, muscle preservation and eventual maintenance 🤞

cheekysausage123 · 21/02/2026 23:04

Enjoy @StrongLikeMammathat sounds fabulous re. The hol (and the bikinis!) I bet you’ll look amazing! 💃

Thanks. We’ll see about the sturdiness of said bikini when it arrives. I do like to a brown tummy! It’s just still a bit wibbly, so really not sure.

Shitzngiggles · 22/02/2026 14:20

@StrongLikeMamma enjoy wearing your bikini.

Has anyone else gone off any food they used to love. I've really gone off eggs and I used to eat them a lot all different ways. Just got back from the gym so made some scrambled egg..took 2 mouthfuls and had to throw the rest away! I loved eggs before.

Sorry I have been MIA! Life has been a bit pants with all sorts of things since the beginning of the New Year but hopefully we are coming out the other side now.

So, I am still managing to keep losing on just 2.5mg + some of my own willpower needed at the end of a week (I jab on Sundays). I have lost 38lbs now, so just 4lbs away from 3 stone.😃..I am so excited to reach the 3 stone milestone!!
I have only had 2 weeks when I haven't lost (since starting on October 12th), and one of those was over Christmas when I put just 1lb on.
I still have a way to go as would like to lose another 2 stone, so I am hoping that 2.5 can keep working for me.
I haven't been doing masses of exercise, so I am hoping that if I can increase that, then I can keep losing for a while longer.

Finally I am actually seeing a change in the way I look and I can certainly feel a change in my mobility...which is fab! I haven't bought any new clothes yet, but am now fitting back in some stuff that I haven't worn for years! Going to have to buy some new knickers though as my current ones keep falling down!

The overhanging belly and the love handles are being very stubborn and I don't feel like they have changed much, but I am only 5ft 1in, so I don't think that helps!!

Glad to see you are all still doing well and that some of your are so close to your goals now! You must be so pleased and proud of yourselves! Well done!

Clumsykitten · 24/02/2026 08:19

Yipppeeee! I’m back into a really nice pair of work trousers. Size 16 but tailored and tight, more like a 14 in another brand. I’m so happy!

Shitzngiggles · 24/02/2026 10:57

I'm in the HEALTHY bmi, top end of it but still. Happy, happy 😊. And off my blood pressure meds for the first time in 20 years. What a truly miracle drug this is. I feel like I've got my life back, certainly a new lease of life in my 60s. I could not have done it without Mounjaro.
