I’m still here, lurking & reading.
had a lot going on with ex & the emotional eating has crept back in a bit, but still nowhere near on the scale it used to be.
Weighing scales have gone up and down a bit but only by a few lbs and I’d given myself a bit of leeway to be able to put on a few lbs.

1 x 2.5 maintenance jab left, I’m going to try and eek this weeks jab out til at least mid next week, longer if I can, so that I have that last maintenance jab over Xmas, I’m not too worried about Jan as I know all the treats in work will be gone and that was by biggest downfall!!

saxonyv · 14/12/2025 08:35

One thing I've learned and noticed on the scales is -

keep up with the fluids

the days I’ve not drank as much the scales have been higher, when I’ve made the effort to drink at least 2L for at least 2 days in a row they drop by 0.5-1.5lb every time!

Uninvitedleaf · 14/12/2025 11:51

I’ll be here for a while yet! Not worried that the thread’s been quiet, I expect we’re all busy with the time of year. It might pick up again in January as it would be good to hear how everyone does over Christmas.

i’ve got another nice 1.4lb loss this week to report so I’m definitely below 30BMI now and hit the milestone of 20% of starting weight gone as well. Next marker will be three stone off in total which I should hit in early January at this rate.

I think I read somewhere (can’t remember if it was our threads or somewhere else) that 3 stone was where a few people felt they really got comments about it. Strangely enough a good friend did mention it to me for the first time this week. Asked was I losing the weight intentionally and wanted to check I wasn’t actually ill or something so coming at it from a good place. Got another 1.5 stone or so to go so will be interesting to see what people make of that!

Finding 6.25mg a good step up, with hindsight I should probably have done it sooner so I’ll need to try not to resist going to the full 7.5mg if I slow/stop again.

Uninvitedleaf · 14/12/2025 11:54

@Squiffy01 what dose are you on at the moment? Just adding a tiny bit on to mine has made such a difference (5mg to 6.25mg).

I had to post as I’m proud of myself for how I responded to my MIL last night when she started being nosy about my weight loss. She has a history of disordered eating and is one of those women who makes a big show of hardly eating and maintaining the same weight her whole life. She has been known to bring out chocolate cake ‘for the boys’ and serve raspberries to me and her, just so you get the picture what type of woman I mean.

Last night we were at theirs for dinner and at one point she and I were in the kitchen alone. She complimented my jumper and said she noticed I’d got some new clothes lately to which I replied yes I have. She said ‘So what size are you now?’ which made me uncomfortable but I didn’t want to be rude or weird about it so just said ‘12’ and didn’t comment further. She then said ‘And what size had you got up to?’. WTF?! Who asks someone that?! So rude. Thankfully I was able to reply very quickly ‘Well that’s absolutely none of your business now, is it’ and gave her a firm look. She avoided my gaze and muttered ‘Too right, I suppose’ and changed the subject.

She has been making digs at me about my weight or other people’s weight for years and I usually grit my teeth and bear it to keep the peace, so I was very pleased that I was able to think quickly enough to put her in her place. Rude cow. I fold my husband later and he said ‘Good for you, she needs to stop that shit’.

SunnySpellsAhead · 14/12/2025 17:32

Well done @wordywitch, that's just made me bristle too. She's the sort that would have had me reaching for the chocolate in despair in the past. Hopefully, she'll think before she opens her trap again but good luck coping with her if she doesn't!

Anyway, I'm just popping on quickly to say I'm grateful to all of you who do still post, love hearing your tales and progress, and it certainly does help with motivation.

I managed to lose 0.8lb this week, after a few days away when I forgot to drink much water and had a few more treats, so not complaining. NSV: size 12 trousers fit, OK I've stretched them a bit so they look more like leggings on, but hey, they fit!

Uninvitedleaf · 14/12/2025 18:42

Yes well done @wordywitch, good response!

I now generally don’t mind telling people I’m using MJ and definitely wouldn’t outright lie but there are a few friends who I just know would be judgy about it. Mostly ones like your MIL who are thin because they watch every mouthful they eat, and see other people as being weak willed or morally inferior if they’re not the same!

Hello, I hope it is OK to join th thread? I began in April but have only just found you.
SW: 14 stone 8 pounds
CW: 10 11
TW; originally aimed for 11 stone, now aiming for 10stone.
currently on 12.5mg but am going back up to 15mg from next week.

it has been slow and steady for me, but that is fine. I am now at the top of the healthy BMI range, am thinking I want to be in the middle (9 7 ish for me) before I begin to taper. Have had no issues really, had appalling indigestion and constipation at one point but once I stopped taking the dreadful iron tablets I had been prescribed that stopped.

I really need to work on exercise. I used to try to lose weight via exercise not sorting out my food intake, the reverse is true now! But I need to get back on it. I am thinking C25K after Christmas to build up my running again and I like the idea of Couch to Barbell, I need to do weights.

Uninvitedleaf · 14/12/2025 20:03

Hello and welcome @lbnblbnb 👋👋

Sounds like we have a bit in common! I started at 13st9lb in April and am currently 10st12, I’m averaging just over 1lb per week loss which I’m happy with. I thought 11stone would be my absolute lowest achievable weight when I started (I’m very short so that makes my BMI just below 30) but I’m now aiming for 9stone where I’ll get to BMI 25.

I’m with you on the exercise - we have some on here who’ve done brilliantly at getting back into that but I’m not one of them 😂. I know I need to prioritise it. I have signed up for a yoga class to start in January so hoping that will give me some motivation to do a bit of cardio and weights as well.

I'm still hanging in here too, I'm just more of a lucking reader than a poster.

Started 15st1, currently 10st4.8 (weigh in tomorrow though). Given up on the hope of hitting the 9s before Xmas as it's slowed right down now but hoping to hit my 5st loss by then...

But did go to matalan yesterday to get a couple of new tops, expected to get in either a 12 or a 14 and ended up in size 10 tops which was a shock. This is now uncharted territory weight wise in my adult life. Prob haven't been this weight since I was a teenager and I'm mid 40s now

SusanSometimes · 14/12/2025 22:56

Well done @wordywitch!

I'm still here too, but mainly lurking. I'm a slow loser, almost three stone since the start, and nowhere near maintenance yet, so I kind of dropped off when others on the thread were reaching goal and I wasn't. That's my issue though, I'm delighted for those who've got there and probably definitely a bit envious.

Anyway, still here, still plodding. I'll get there, I've accepted that as I'm postmeno it's likely to take longer and I have to be OK with that. I'm averaging 1lb per week now and I'm hoping that'll be sustainable in the long run. Meanwhile I'm thankful for almost three stone gone and a couple of dress sizes down.

Incognitoburrito88 · 15/12/2025 07:24

@SusanSometimes I’m so sorry it’s been hard for you as people have started reaching goal. I can imagine that would be tough. I still check the thread every day but have noticed it slowing down. I am maintaining so not a huge amount to say…

Although… had a super busy weekend. Cafe trip on Saturday with my parents who also brought a surprise birthday cake for my daughter… I had two bits of cake on Saturday 😮 (did also run 10.5 miles!). Then dance show for middle child yesterday and out for a meal and cinema last night. I hadn’t jabbed for 2 wks and I had a desert in the restaurant and I enjoyed every last spoonful so much!

Anyway - despite all this my weight has maintained at 10st all week! I was defo hungry this week as levels dropped but I think what really helped was I planned out all my meals and was very intentional about treats. Eg I knew we were going out for dinner tonight and I wanted a desert so that was planned. The bake sale at the dance show was not planned so I just ate my breakfast which I’d brought with me and didn’t have a cake. I also didn’t have any food in the cinema even though I wanted it because I was actually full… It’s been interesting seeing the real me emerging from the suppression - I am not magically cured of all my issues by my good habits but they do help and I’m determined not to lose what I’ve worked so hard for!

SusanSometimes · 15/12/2025 11:22

Thanks @Incognitoburrito88. It's great to hear you are doing so well on maintenance, gives me hope for the future.

Squiffy01 · 15/12/2025 12:06

Awww hey everyone nice to see so many updates.

I jabbed today (a day early) as will be rushing around getting to airport tomorrow so that’s one less job to do tomorrow.

i have been taking a bit over 10 until last week when I stuck to 10 but as I stayed the same on weigh day I have taken a bit over 10 to see what happens. I also ate out yesterday and had the yummiest meal but had starter, main and pudding which I have a) wanted to do or b) been able to fit in even if I had wanted since I started and it made me think maybe should go up again.

hope my pharmacy don’t mind be not ordering for a month as forgot to order and now wouldn’t arrive before we go so won’t order till January.

I also need to start exercising. And drinking more as I’ve got really slack on the water.

Doidontimmm · 15/12/2025 20:09

I’ve been here from the start too but now into bereavement number 3 this year I’ve stalled for a while.

Im now 4lbs away from goal although thinking I may go to 7lbs for lee way. I stuck at 7.5mg and have just ordered a 5mg as going to work myself back down. Hoping that works! I still gave one 7.5mg pen left.

QS90 · 16/12/2025 19:39

Hello all! Glad to see the thread still going strong. When I didn't see any notifications, I thought it had stopped, but now realise it was in fact full!

Glad too to hear about all the positive progress 💪 How is everyone managing price hikes / has anyone swapped to Wegovy? Am about to order my first Wegovy pen when I get paid on 19th (currently still on old price MJ).

Checking in, I've managed to taper to 50 clicks of 12.5mg whilst maintaining goal weight, with no effort. Could have kept losing, but currently focusing on excersize as feel I have definitely lost strength (but don't want to get a raging appetite and pile the weight back on). Have bleakly had a slightly bad back, I'm guessing because of muscle loss as nothing else has changed, although swimming seems to have sorted that out in just a few sessions. Am at a fancy local hotel gym and feel quite decadent!! It's lush though, and much more fun than being at home scrubbing up wee, which is what I seem to spend the rest of my time doing.

RhaenysRocks · 17/12/2025 07:06

Hey all..also just checking in. I know pp mean about being a little disheartened with people at goal..I'm also a slow loser but still it's chipping away and more do than at any point in the last decade. I just need to make sure my supplier ships in time that it doesn't arrive when I'm away over Xmas. Incidentally, I saw my GP finally yesterday about continuing numbness and tingling in my hands and she's testing me for VitD levels..she said MJ can affect absorption. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is having an issue with that.

PhantomErik · 17/12/2025 09:54

I’ll still be here for a while!

I’ve hit my mini target of 20% weight loss which I’m really pleased about. My losses are very slow but still going in the right direction.

SW 16.6
CW 13.3

My waist measurement has also gone down by 10 inches.

Life feels good right now 😊

PhantomErik · 17/12/2025 10:58

Sorry to hear about your sad losses doidontimmm x

i've had similar (plus discolouration) and doc said it was reynauds. Might be worth asking about that too

RhaenysRocks · 17/12/2025 16:55

@Cerberus1808 the gp did mention that but wasn't sure it was the most likely. I'll wait for the blood results and go from there.

Can you let me know what they say? Just in case i need to revisit mine lol

RhaenysRocks · 17/12/2025 21:35

Yes of course. They said it might be a week or so though so with Xmas, who knows!

wherearetheturrets · 18/12/2025 11:32

Weigh and jab day (2 days late jabbing though)
W36d1
SW - 13st11.8
CW - 10st0.4lbs (just under 4lb loss)
total loss - 3st 11.4lbs
GW - 10st

big loss this week, not sure why but I’ll take it! 0.4lbs from goal… what a lovely Christmas present it would be to finally reach goal, but not going to get my hopes up too much as we’ve got some meals out before then, and going out for drinks on Saturday too.

Really struggling with my hair loss at the moment, I know some others have mentioned it on the thread. I just bought some plantur shampoo. I’ve been taking viviscal too but very infrequently as I’m useless at remembering! Also probably not the best long term solution for me as it’s very £££. Has anyone found success with anything else that they could recommend? I think mines been particularly bad as I had 2 almost back to back pregnancies, 3 years of breastfeeding and now weight loss! I’ve booked a blood test to check things out (my last blood test came back with low ferritin and I have been taking ferrous sulphate but again, somewhat infrequently!).

I hope everyone’s managing to enjoy festive plans and food :)

QS90 · 18/12/2025 17:40

Well done @wherearetheturrets !! If you've got a hair trim in the next few days, that'll probably be you at goal as 0.4lb is nothing at all.

No particular advice regarding hair loss, as TOUCH WOOD haven't had much. I've been having collagen shakes to get protein up, so potentially that could have helped a bit? I had bad hair loss in my 20s whilst backpacking and remember head massage making it much worse. It all came off on the guys fingers and he had to stop 😬Just my experience though. It will grow back nice and thick eventually, when you're eating more x
