Thanks for starting the new thread! Following 🙂

Thanks for the new thread. Link worked :)

im currently not wanting to get out of bed to weigh in.

Squiffy01 · 13/11/2025 12:56

Week 32 and -1.5lbs for me.

69.6lbs all up so far. I still don’t n ow what I want my goal to be. But will need to think about tapering down soon I think.
I am going to try and eat a bit more each day as haven’t been feeling great and is possibly because I’m not eating quite enough so shall see how I go.

I can’t believe how we are getting close to Christmas. It doesn’t feel like November at all with the sun and how mild it is. Looks like it will drop down next week though here.

Trinko · 13/11/2025 16:36

Thanks for the new thread - stuck on BMI 27 for months now. Feel like I am sabotaging everything which is my pattern. Ate a whole package of biscuits today. First time since starting MJ - but I suppose I can reframe it positively that in the past pre MJ I was putting away a packet of biscuits daily. Maybe I need to go up a dose. But I have started running twice a week now which is great alongside a weekly 2hr hike and a weights class. And that I am still on this thread.

SquishyGloopyBum · 14/11/2025 07:16

Found you!!

I seem to be holding at 10st 4lb which is good. Taking 3.75. Noticing hair loss now though. Need to up my gym game as I’m getting lazy now it’s winter.

Incognitoburrito88 · 14/11/2025 08:00

Morning all - jab day (3.75mg every 14 days)

SW: 13st 7 lb
Gw: 10st 7 lb
CW: 10st 5 lb

so I’ve gained a pound this week. Scales have been up all week so not a blip. Period finished few days ago so not that. I feel a bit frustrated - reviewing my food diaries I don’t really feel it was deserved. I ran 24km, cycled for 4 hrs and did 2 bodypump sessions last week as well. I’ve had a bit of food noise and hunger but have felt I’ve done well at not giving in to the desire to snack. I was tempted not to jab today as I don’t particularly feel I need it but the scales don’t lie and I’ve got a lot going on between now and Christmas so I decided to take my 3.75mg as planned. If I haven’t gone back down to 10st 4 by next Friday I will jab again.

Plan for the week - 3 x runs, 4 days of cycling, 2 x bodypump. 3 meals a day with a small snack on Monday and Tuesday mornings when I run/bodypump before I cycle to work. We’ve got friends coming for lunch on Sunday so I might have a small bit of cake but no other indulgent plans - there’s plenty of indulgence coming up in December!

How’s everyone else doing?

WinterOnItsWayOut · 14/11/2025 11:00

@SquishyGloopyBum and @Incognitoburrito88we have pretty much been triplets throughout! I’m now around 10.3 with no real movement in weeks. Given my goal was 10.7 I’m happy with this but was hoping to have a little more wriggle room on BMI. Still on 2.5 and have one last 5mg pen to start next week so will see me into the new year and then bets are off.

I need to remove the crutch but like @Trinko some bad habits are creeping in which I’m concerned will be worse with no MJ. I hate winter too and always eat more for comfort which will be hard to curb.

@Incognitoburrito88do your scales have a body fat % or are you measuring waist/hips etc? With that much exercise you must be adding muscle and toning whilst scales don’t reflect this? I’m upping my exercise soon as taken redundancy and hoping this will tone even if not reflected in weight loss.

Hope everyone else is doing ok from the other thread dealing with tricky situations.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 14/11/2025 11:03

And we shouldn’t beat ourselves up at this stage as things slow and we’re not as motivated as before. I’m sure this graph is representative of a lot of our journeys which have been incredible and we’ve all stuck with it to get these results 💪

Well done on your maintenance! I was 10st 3lb and would like to get back there ideally! No my scales are very basic - I do wonder if I’m gaining muscle but also don’t want to be using that as an excuse! I need to get a tape measure and maybe some better scales for Xmas!!

NotsosunnyShropshire · 14/11/2025 11:48

Currently just over 21kgs down. Just reordered my second 12.5mg (currently on 10.5mg) via MedExpress. Took about 3 minutes for them to prescribe it lol. How things have changed.

I wonder how many customers they lost with the price increases?

WinterOnItsWayOut · 14/11/2025 13:05

@Incognitoburrito88i actually got the tape measure out and found out that my waist to height ratio is well into ‘healthy’. On my BUPA medicals they always told me off for it so it’s another nice milestone 😊

wherearetheturrets · 14/11/2025 14:55

Thanks for the new thread @Uninvitedleaf

Weigh and jab day
W32d1
SW - 13st11.8
CW - 10st2.8lbs (1.2lbs loss this week)
total loss - 3st 9lbs
GW - 10st

Thinking about maintenance now I’m a couple of pounds from goal, though also wondering about lowering my goal to 9st7. I’m only just into a size 12 (and still in a lot of small 14s), and would prefer to be a size 10-12 if that’s even possible for me now. I think I’d be a solid size 12 now if it wasn’t for excess belly skin. Just started my second 12.5mg pen, and I’ve still got a 10mg in the fridge. My plan is to do this pen and then start making my way down the doses and trying maintenance on 5mg for a while as I am terrified about the full return of food noise, and regaining loads!

hope everyone is good

Hi, thanks for the new thread!

SW : 14st 11lbs
CW : 10st 8lbs
Loss : 4st 3lbs
BMi is 24.4 - healthy,

a healthy bmi was always my goal weight and I’ve done it, I have a few more weeks left of 2.5 (tapered down) and then I’m going to stop and see how I go.
Tbh as much as it’s been great for my weight and confidence, my mental health has taken a hit, it’s made me quite anxious at times and so I’m not looking to start up again if I can help it.

trying to focus now on exercise and eating well!

will hang around here though if that’s ok as I want to still pick up tips from others for maintenance

wherearetheturrets · 14/11/2025 21:07

Sorry just realised it didn’t automatically use my original username on the new thread! So I guess I am no longer fox919!

was just going to say @saxonyvmy mental health has also taken a hit with increased anxiety :( I’ve accepted it as this is a battle I’ve been fighting for so long and I’ve felt on balance it was worth it. But I hope that I get I at least get a positive when stopping of less anxiety!

Congratulations 🥳 on getting to goal! My mental health and general lust for life has been so much better since I came off 5mg. Good luck with maintenance. I’m glad there will be a few of us maintaining together. In some ways I think it’s tougher than the downward journey.

It has led me to start therapy for some unresolved trauma, however I do feel I’ll start to feel a bit brighter when the MJ isn’t in my system

SunnySpellsAhead · 15/11/2025 09:59

Congratulations @saxonyv (and all you others on your impressive achievements). Hoping you feel better off MJ and wishing you luck with therapy. I know how down in the dumps I used to get after some of the jabs so can imagine the battle some of you have with anxiety too.

Had a good week, 2lb off. Moved breakfast to much later in the morning, overnight oats with chia and nuts, which seemed to set me up nicely for the day and meant having a smaller lunch. Would love to get rid of 12st by the new year but there's Christmas to deal with first. Anyone else feeling very nervous?!

It arrived this morning whilst we were out. Super fast service.

SeaDippingandLattes · 15/11/2025 10:39

Morning all,

4 stone down now!!! 12:1 currently. Another 8 pounds to go.

Champo arrived in the post yesterday. Hoping it stops the hair loss as otherwise I’m tempted to jack it in and just remain a bit fat but hopefully not bald.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend :)

SunnySpellsAhead · 15/11/2025 15:47

Well done @SeaDippingandLattes!

Meant to say, I think my hair loss has finally slowed, it was probably a turbo charged autumn shedding. I’ve always taken a collagen tablet daily, plus a multi vit which had a bit of Biotin in. The only thing I’ve added is a stand alone Biotin daily plus I use Plantur shampoo when I remember. Gave up on the Nature Spell rosemary oil as it made my hair greasy. Fingers crossed it will slow down for everyone else too.

Uninvitedleaf · 16/11/2025 07:24

Morning everyone!

Well as predicted I had a tricky week with a few meals out with family/friends to negotiate with the result that my official weigh in shows 3.2lb up. I know that’s not accurate and will come off again straight away, I kept an eye on calories and there’s no way I ate 10000 extra over the week, but it’s still annoying.

Something from that Zoe podcast that stuck with me was “it’s not the calories in your food it’s the food in your calories” and I think that’s what’s going on here. Unfortunately the people we were seeing this week will only really eat cheap pub food - won’t let me cook instead as going out is such a treat, won’t consider something like a curry where I could at least have fresh veg and plain rice. I think I’ve always struggled a bit at these places but would put up with it, but I really don’t know what to do now. I’m actually starting to resent having to eat the stuff. Maybe I’ll eat before we go next time and then just order something but not consume any of it. Not going is not an option as there are elderly relatives in the mix who we wouldn’t really see otherwise!

Back again & stayed the same again!

I'm really trying to trust the process but I’ve been stuck around this weight for about 6 weeks.

I'm wondering if it’s this ‘set point’ stuff as I did weigh this much for a long time. Who knows. I think my shape has improved at least.

SW 16.6
CW 13.7

Almost 3 stone gone so still very happy overall.

Incognitoburrito88 · 17/11/2025 07:08

@Uninvitedleaf that sounds really challenging. I do really resent being made to go out to eat in places where there isn’t ‘nice’ food. It’s funny how I would have seen burger and chips as a treat in the past and now I don’t! (Unless it’s gourmet burger and chips in a fancy place!) I do try to look at menus in advance so I can have time to working out what the best option is but it’s really tricky in pub type places where everything is beige ‘with chips’. Baked potato? I’m sure your weight will be back to normal by next week though.

I’m really struggling at the moment - embarrassing but I have haemorrhoids! I had them during pregnancy with baby 4 (she’s now 4) and I’m pretty sure the MJ/ weight loss induced constipation is what’s set them off again. They are really painful - to the extent I’m wincing when I sit down! I am now obsessed with getting enough fibre and drinking even more than usual but I’m feeling very sore and sorry for myself.

@SunnySpellsAhead i am also nervous about Christmas and the sheer number of social engagements in the diary leading up to it. Ideally I would be a good bit below goal as a buffer but that’s not going to be easy to achieve in December.

Pepperwaggytail · 17/11/2025 08:42

Hello everyone 👋
Sorry, I’ve been quiet this week, I’ve had a vomiting bug which thankfully only lasted 24hrs but wiped me out a bit. On the plus side I’ve lost a couple of pounds and enjoyed catching up on all the posts this morning!

I guess my thoughts on weight loss stalls are that your body is at a weight set point when the scales don’t budge and I think that you’ve got to let your body work out that this weight is ok and stay there for as long as it takes, or now we can increase our MJ dose and see if that gets things moving again. Over the many, many, many 🥺 years I've been dieting, I've appeared to have set points of 13.5, 12st 10st 7lb and now 9st11lb. This has been over 35 years. In my 20s I was 13.5st and Ive never gone back up to that weight. There’s been a fair amount of yo yoing in that time but generally the trend has been downwards - mainly because I’ve realised that if I don’t get on the scales every day I will take my eye off the ball and put a stone or so back on. I’ve done this many times.

Ive also seen that exercise will cause a bit of inflammation and water retention and the day after exercise I’ll always be a bit heavier. Also if I’m actively working at putting on muscle with weight training or HIIT training etc, I must be losing fat if my weight stays the same! I spent quite a bit of time googling pictures of women who have gained muscle but lost fat and their weight is still the same but they look hugely different …. I’ll find a photo. So I think it’s important that we realise our body composition is changing.

Having said that, people who feel stuck and still have a bit to lose, are you able to increase your MJ dose at all? I’ve just increased mine back up to 4mg to try and get a few more lb off. I’m purely doing this because I want to increase my running speed and distance - it’s just soooo much easier to run when I’m lighter. Running really helps my mental health as well. I know we all want to keep our dose as low as possible for financial reasons and the side effects but I now know I can maintain on 2.5mg a week (not tried to stop completely) but I was losing on 4mg, so this is a little experiment to see what happens.

Regarding Christmas- I think this is the first year I’ve NOT worried about weight gain. I’m a bit miffed I’m spending a fortune on meals out with family where I won’t want to drink and won’t be able to eat all the food. MJ has turned me into one of those people who end up pushing food round my plate. Fortunately my skinny husband happily shovels my left overs away if we eat out! I would consider increasing my dose a little bit if I thought I’d fall back into bad habits though.

I think this is where we need to change our mindset from “I won’t enjoy Christmas if I can’t eat all the food” I was reading on another thread where people were having a week off MJ for holidays so that they could enjoy their food and drink. Surely this is the wrong way round? My mum used to feel an evening out was ruined if the food wasn’t good, despite the fact that her family were sat all around her! The food was more important than the company. She used to say that food was her only pleasure in life. That’s like addiction isn’t it? I don’t really know where I’m going with this 😂 just thinking out loud. It’s the dopamine hit - I do have it a bit with clothes shopping. If it wasn’t for Vinted and charity shops I might have a problem!

Anyway this post has turned into another essay so I’ll post it quick! Interesting things to think about though.. have a lovely week folks x

Pepperwaggytail · 17/11/2025 08:48

Here’s a photo to show what I meant about same weight, different body composition…
