I saw that headline..I hope it doesn't spark another round of panic buying. @Uninvitedleaf well done on your progress. I've just tipped into 11.13 reliably which I'm v pleased about but one of my go-to work skirts is now officially unwearable so had to scramble about yesterday for something else..NSV I guess! I have bought and had one dose of 7.5. I feel fine and I think suppression has improved a bit but it is so expensive. Had a look on MONJ but there ends up not being that much difference unless you piss about changing every single month and I don't have time for it really.

Weigh and jab day
W34d1
SW - 13st11.8
CW - 10st6.2lbs (1lb gain)
total loss - 3st 5.5lbs
GW - 10st

I was 10st 4.2lbs yesterday so have gained 2lbs overnight! Definitely noticed a desire for more ‘crap’ recently though, making me more nervous about coming off.. I’ve been toying with the idea of moving up to 15 and then making my way back down (was planning to start making my way down after finishing this pen, but with the increase in compulsion and the gaining I’m not sure I’m quite ready yet), still mulling that over. I don’t know if it’s just fear though.

hope everyone’s good

saxonyv · 03/12/2025 21:20

Hi everyone.

Sorry for the radio silence, life has got me by the clutches (I never know if that’s the right saying but I’m sure you know what I mean) at the moment and I’ve definitely noticed the emotional eating creeping back in!

Im tapering off and have been doing 2.5 for the last few weeks with only 2 left to go!
feeling very nervous about finishing completely!

start weight was 14st 7 and I’m down to 10st 6-8 lbs, it’s the higher end of a healthy bmi for me but pleased that I seem to be staying there!

Have found the balance for me is to only eat 2 meals a day, so usually lunch and dinner, that way if I fancy something sweet I can swing it.

I am tempted to try the low carb bootcamp as I come off completely, I have done it before with some success but it also tends to cure the sweet tooth!

Definitely lots of D&V and Covid type virus’ going around my neck of the woods, poor DS cant seem to catch a break from it!

what are everyone’s plans for navigating food and a new way of eating over the holidays?

Incognitoburrito88 · 03/12/2025 21:59

@saxonyv

Sorry you've been having a tough time. Our house is full of illness too - I’m longing for the school holidays to start.

I’ve been maintaining on 3.75mg every 2nd week but have gone down to 2.5mg now. Not sure if I’ll jab after 7 days or try to stretch to 2 wks again… I’ve been thinking a lot about the festive period. In the run up to Christmas I’m trying to stay in my routine as much as possible. Then we’re away 23rd - 27th dec. I’m going to focus on eating small amounts of the foods I really love - like Xmas cake. But not go crazy on things I’m actually not that fussed about like Quality St. hoping to be mindful and not eat for the sake of it. I’m going to keep going with my running too which will stop me from drinking too much. We’re away for a couple of days at new year and there will be lots of food and drink then I’m sure but I plan to be straight back to my healthy eating and exercise from the 2nd onwards. I’ve got a half marathon at the beginning of Feb so will be really ramping up my mileage over the next few weeks.

Worst case scenario I will increase my MJ dose post new year for a couple of weeks but my dream would be to manage to maintain / lose my festive gain without increasing my dose.

Squiffy01 · 04/12/2025 07:17

@Incognitoburrito88 sounds like you have a great plan in place for Christmas. Not too restrictive and manageable.

we are off to Australia for Christmas so I’m sure i will be eating more than I would if we stayed here but haven’t really thought about it too much as can’t eat ridiculous amounts on MJ like I could in the past so just going to go with the flow.

Squiffy01 · 04/12/2025 13:10

Weigh day for me this morning and I lost 3lbs this week which is a big one for me these days but I didn’t lose only 200g last week so think it’s just evening out.

blanketsnuggler · 04/12/2025 14:38

Just realised I forgot to jab last night! I've been reducing my dose over the last few weeks in order to be off MJ in the new year.
Also got my Dr's app on Mon to look at me hair loss blood tests.

SunnySpellsAhead · 06/12/2025 12:14

SW 16st 8.2lb BMI 43.2
CW 12st 4.8lb BMI 32.2
TW ?? 10st 7lb

Hope everyone's doing well and coping with all the demands of the season. I mostly survived temptation at the Christmas market yesterday, slightly interested in all the treats but fairly easy to walk on by and hold out for a proper meal later. Have been doing quite well over the last month on 3.5mg losing 1.75 p/wk average. The late oaty breakfast is definitely helping, and I'm motivated by the thought of being in the 11's for the new year.

Heard some guy in the sauna laughingly discussing a girl who was fat but is now 'normal'. Urghh, especially as his belly was hanging out. Still, that word 'normal' does resonate. Still think I'm abnormal that I can't go on rides or I might break fragile furniture but I guess not now, and 'normal' clothes shopping is a joy!

Musermum · 06/12/2025 20:32

Well done everyone who's still losing... And those on maintenance. I'm still away off that milestone. Finally lost again this week. Been walking much more and lost 2.5kg for the 1st time in a while.
SW 18st 6
CW 14st
Also bought a new dress for a wedding in Australia in February. Size 18 but felt good after buying in a 24.DD2 has taken to calling me Skinny Queen....not quite, but not fearing the belt extension on the plane to Perth!!!!!

Uninvitedleaf · 07/12/2025 08:59

Morning all!

I finally got below that pesky 11st point I’ve been waiting for, my weigh in today is 10st 13.6lb. So only just got there but it’s another 1lb off this week and I’m very happy with that.

I think I’ve been on MJ for something like 34 weeks today and it doesn’t feel like it at all, I really do think that slow and steady is helping to make my current behaviours the new normal for me (although I can definitely imagine staying on a low dose after hitting goal to reinforce that). It could easily be another 5-6 months before I get down to a healthy weight at this rate and it also feels very strange that I’m not at all phased by that, and not even really thinking about it. It’s just happening alongside the rest of life which again I think reinforces the ‘this is who I am now’ rather than ‘I’m on a diet until I lose this amount of weight’ thinking.

My only real frustration is clothes! I was out on Friday night and wanted to go for a skirt and boots outfit. All my previous go-to skirts are far, far too big - like falling down big - and I can’t find anything I like to replace them in the shops or on Vinted. I always used to blame being fat for not being able to find clothes I liked, clearly that wasn’t the core issue 😂😂.

@Musermum what’s your dress like? You can cheer me up by convincing me that it’s possible to find all the nice things I thought I was missing out on previously!

Unfortunately am having a flare up of Crohn’s and have had to go back on prednisolone high dose which historically had been one of the reasons for such large amounts of weight gain. My team have ok’d staying on mounjaro and so far weight seems to be stable but I do feel pretty rough whatever and whenever I eat so hoping to ride it out and feel better soon!

Currently sat at 154lbs and it would be great to maintain that for the duration of the steroids.

Oh I hope the MJ helps you to avoid pilling weight on. How long will you be on steroids for?

10 weeks for now, but will have further tests to see if they are working throughout. Longest I’ve been on them is 6 months previously but hoping for just the 10 weeks this time around.

Pepperwaggytail · 07/12/2025 09:43

Morning everyone - we are staying with friends this weekend and done loads of walking (even in this awful weather!) I’m quite proud of myself because I can’t drink loads of alcohol on MJ so I’ve had a couple of glasses of red wine each day which I’ve enjoyed and no hangover. I also steamed up all the hills and was full of energy - it’s really sad when we have some of our group of friends (50s-60s) who are very unfit and we have to walk really slowly for them. At our age we are really starting to see the difference now in lifestyles and health.

I jabbed early (Thursday) because I knew we would be away on Friday and really had no appetite all weekend. I’ve also just jumped on my friends scales and if they are accurate I’m down to 9st 6lb which is just below my goal weight. If this is the case on my scales at home I’ll drop my dose to 2.5mg next week and try and maintain for a few more months before tapering to the lowest dose possible.
Im still in living a state of awe of the effects of MJ. I’ve never had control of my weight like this.

I do think I’m looking very slim now (still BMI of 23.8) looking at myself in my friends mirrors has reminded me of where I was last time I was here (May) and I can see the difference. I really don’t think I should go any lower. I also really can’t afford to buy another whole new wardrobe!

For whoever talked about buying new clothes….I also still put things on and don’t like how they look. This is really annoying- and I’m not sure what suits me. I wanted to buy a really nice dress and I just can’t chose online because I still think I’m big and I reject anything clingy as soon as I see it, but all my “old” styles of dress swamp me.

Anyway that’s my little update. Have a lovely weekend everyone 😊

Not that you want to be the one to experiment- but how brilliant if MJ becomes another tool to help manage the impact of steroids. Fingers crossed for you. X

That is gorgeous! I love it!

well done to everyone on fab progress.

I’m still maintaining away. Dropped my dose to 2.5mg last Sunday and think I’ll wait until next week to jab again. Was down at 10st for the most of this week - went up to 10st 2 this morning but think it’s probably water from the 10 mile run i did yesterday!!! @Pepperwaggytail I’m mid 40’s and definitely seeing the difference in health levels of friends - I want to be racing up the hills in a decade!

I’m also struggling a bit to find my style. I have spent 20 yrs hiding my belly but it really doesn’t need to be hidden anymore and because my boobs are so tiny empire line styles don’t really suit me anymore. I really don’t know how to dress and weirdly am spending more time in athleisure wear than I did when I was fat!!

The rest of my day involves delousing my seven year old and then going out for dinner with a friend of my older daughter and her mum. I love them but she’s picked a pizza place with a very limited menu - the veggie option is margarita or nothing and I don’t want to eat a big greasy pizza I won’t even enjoy that much!

Uninvitedleaf · 07/12/2025 14:25

Yes that’s fabulous - love the colour!

Hi everyone.
I'm onto maintenance now, and jabbing less often.
Has anyone swapped onto Wegovy? And if so, how did you get on with it?

Had my Drs appoint today about my hair loss and my bloods were all fine (iron very very slightly low) and had a good chat with the Dr. She said it will stop as I come down the doses and ween myself off the jabs, so not to worry about it as that's what I'm doing now. She did say it would take around a year to regain my full amount of hair back.

Squiffy01 · 08/12/2025 19:31

@blanketsnuggler glad the hair loss is nothing to worry about and that it will return.

Checking in
Weigh and jab day
W35d1
SW - 13st11.8
CW - 10st4.2lbs (2lb loss)
total loss - 3st 7.5lbs
GW - 10st

Incognitoburrito88 · 12/12/2025 08:22

Morning all… weigh day today
Still in maintenance jabbing 2.5mg every 14 days - I’m 12 days out now and definitely getting some food noise!

SW: 13st 7lb
GW: 10st 7lb
CW: 10st

I’m so pleased to still be maintaining- I’ve had a few meals out over the last couple of weeks. Didn’t want to be going in to Xmas over goal and that’s look achievable now! Toying with jabbing weekly over Xmas and new year just to keep myself in check. Still very anxious about everything!

Hope everyone else is doing well. I’m off to get my belly button pierced today - I know it’s a massive cliche (especially if you’ve seen the South Park ozempic special) but I don’t care - I was never confident enough to do it when I was young so I’m doing it at 44!!!

Squiffy01 · 13/12/2025 14:54

Quiet thread these days.

I did my weekly weigh a few days ago and stayed the same which I’m a bit gutted about.
