Hello everyone - I started with you all on the first thread (I was the nutter who enjoyed flouncing around the house in random charity shop impulse purchases of sequinned dresses as my NSV) - I dropped out of this thread because I was diagnosed with cancer in late Nov. I had been at a plateau for months with a BMI of 27 but looked good in a size 10 so was happy enough with that. I had a couple of weeks break at one point and restarting (on 5mg maybe that was the issue) gave me explosive diarrhoea which I could only manage with anti D tabs. Anyway I was advised to come off it for general anaesthetic for my surgery (slow gut transit technically a risk for not achieving nil by mouth). Then I just ate and drank my way to oblivion through the stress of waiting for surgery, then radiation treatment, results etc. Haven’t been able to exercise due to surgery and have put on a spectacular 10kg in 4 months with stress eating, drinking and not moving. Anyway I am now going to start again. I started on 1st April last year and lost 3 stone in no time and was so delighted and so happy with myself - I just need to get back to that place….and it’s a year since I started and so feels good to get back on it again. I plan to eat better this time - more protein based.

I have a 10mg in the fridge so will start on 2.5mg from it - think that’s 15 clicks - then will need to see if Zava will have me back again as not ordered since August (stockpiled the morning the price hike Or has anyone got any codes for me to go elsewhere? Has anyone stopped and restarted?

Squiffy01 · 27/03/2026 15:40

@Trinko I remember you charity shop finds and you flouncing around the house in them it made me smile reading about it.
im so sorry to read your update, I really hope everything is okay with the cancer now? It is such a hard journey to go on!

WinterOnItsWayOut · 27/03/2026 16:22

@Trinkosorry to hear your news and hope treatment is working for you 🤞

Ive not stopped and started (just stopped!) but I think your plan is good to go back to 2.5 and see how it goes. Good luck with everything xx

SunnySpellsAhead · 28/03/2026 12:03

Welcome back @Trinko. So sorry to hear about your troubles and wishing you the very best of luck now. You did so well the first time round, 🤞 it will now be plain sailing.

One year MJ anniversary report from me:

Started at 16st 8.8lb with BMI of 42.7 at 5'2"
Currently 10st 13.4lb, BMI 28.2
Lost 5st 8.8lb, which according to Shotsy is 236 bananas!
Clothes size was 18 to 20, now around 12 but size 10 occasionally!

Dosage now 3.41mg, highest was 3.9mg
Side effects: no gastric ones really just the low mood a day or so after jabbing (hence stuck to the lower doses). Weirdly, just noticed it seems to be when I jab upper left 😵‍💫 so avoiding that now!
Goal: was 10.7, then 9.7 but will see how I feel as I progress.

Can't believe it really, as Phantom said, the opportunities available and the ability to dress 'normally' has been brilliant. No regrets at all. I was lucky to get most of the pens at the old price, and I'm stretching out 5mg so even the grand or so I've spent on it has been well worth it to get to this happy point.

blanketsnuggler · 28/03/2026 14:08

I'm starting to think about summer clothes recently, and opened my drawer of "clothes I like but don't fit me anymore". I found last years shorts and tried them on. It was so funny. They are MASSIVE! I really can't believe I was that big!
I decided to keep them as a reminder not to back there.
I've lost 5 stone since last April so it's not surprising. But funny all the same.

Pepperwaggytail · 29/03/2026 08:51

@Trinko
Oh bless you, like everyone here sending you lots of love for your cancer journey. I do have some codes - if I can remember how to send them I’ll pm you. They might not work because it’s been ages but we can hope!
You might find you can just pick up with your provider. I had a review with Bolt (might have been with a chat bot🤪) and I told them I was in maintenance now and they were fine with my now much lower weight and bmi (24). I honestly think that they just all want the money now!
I would definitely start on the lowest dose and see if you start losing, I’ve never gone higher than 6mg and avoided most nasty side effects and kept the cost down.
Best of luck 😘

Pepperwaggytail · 29/03/2026 09:25

A little update from me, I gained 4lb on holiday (mostly eating sugary food!) but have taken it off again by upping my dose to 5mg for a week and then 3.75 last week. I’m back to maintaining at 9st 7lb now so will take 2.5mg today.

Ive been quite haphazard with maintaining, although I’ve been doing it for at least 4 months now, and not stuck to a precise dose. It can be a bit stressful actually because if my weight goes up a lb or two I’ve been increasing the dose slightly to shift the lbs. I know this is ridiculous, and I shouldn’t try to control my weight within one lb. But years of dieting (and weight watchers) has taught me that every weigh in is “bad” unless I’ve lost. God what a mind f*ck. They really did a job on us didn’t they?! 🥺

Anyway, so I need to try and relax into maintenance and stick to a dose and take it on a regular basis. Because there’s no protocol for this from the providers to follow, I feel I have two options:

  1. Take the same dose weekly and lower from 2.5mg to as low as I can get and maintain
  2. Take the same dose weekly and gradually spread the doses further apart

Writing this down is helping because I think I’m better with a proper routine, or I’ll forget which day to take it. I’ve started using Shotsy again so I can keep track. So im
going to go for option 1.

This all sounds a bit obsessive but most of the time I’m just enjoying life and feeling great and looking fabulous in clothes! 🥳 This most recent holiday is the first time I’ve gained a few pounds and it’s taken a bit of experimenting to get it off again.

I have to say MJ is such a miracle, I can’t imagine ever coming off it. It’s solved a life time of weight struggle, and such a tiny amount of the drug!

In other news, my morbidly obese BIL is definitely on something! He’s lost a ton of weight- sister denies anything has changed. But I overheard him talking to my niece and the word “jab” was heard. 😂 My judgy sister is someone I’d never tell, she obviously doesn’t want anyone to know. Sad really.

Have a great Easter lovelies! Keep updating, it’s my Sunday treat to have a read of all your updates

Hi everyone Sunday check in from me as well.

Sending good vibes @Trinko and sorry you’ve been going through that. Hope you’re OK now. There are plenty of us still plodding on with losses so you’ll have company for a while!

I was doing much better with avoiding sweet stuff this week and was just feeling that I’d ridden out the worst cravings when we had friends round for dinner and they went to a lot of trouble to make and bring a lovely pudding. Felt I couldn’t refuse it so that completely derailed me! Very much enjoyed it at the time but I just can’t face going through the fight again having just got on top of it so I have given in and upped my dose to 7.5mg. Hopefully that will sort it.

Hi everyone, another plodder here. Can't believe it's been almost one year. @Trinko praying for everything to be OK for you. I started at 18st 6 and 2 weeks ago was 12 11...aiming for the 6 stone mark now. I only weigh every 3 or 4 weeks now but it's seems to work out about 1lb per week average. I went to Australia for my SILs wedding and had such a brilliant time...i know I couldn't have gone at my start weight.... The plane journey, the walking, the heat, not to mention my dodgy knee which isn't painful anymore. I didn't take a pen with me so jabbed the day before and felt fine the 2nd week. But then I was walking loads and eating so healthily. I've been ordering a 12.5 but stretching over 5 weeks for quite a few months, so I'll stay there til I hit below 12 and may be start to reduce. I too am so grateful to MJ, and this community, for giving me some life back (at 56!)

RhaenysRocks · 01/04/2026 20:15

Im getting really frustrated. I cant afford a higher dose and Ive really plateaued for months now just around the 3 st loss. Ideally I'd lose another 2 but nothing is shifting. I was so happy getting back.into old jeans and such but I'm kind of used to it now and want to be moving on down. I know I'm just not really concentrating as much..I need to drink more water, prep more so I'm not just grabbing meal deals for lunch etc but focus is always elsewhere. I had an unexpected v large expense last month so starting to feel I might have to stop mj and just manage. Not ideal. 😪

Squiffy01 · 04/04/2026 09:19

52 weeks on MJ check in

My starting BMI was 32.1
1 year 17.9
Total lost: 41.2kg / 90.8lbs / 6.4 st

Over the 52 weeks I had two weeks where I gained and 4 weeks that I stayed the same otherwise all loses.

For years my sisters had been on weight loss jabs and I judged them and said I would absolutely never go on them! Then last year I was just so fed up of being fat I didn’t care if I was cheating I just wanted to lose the weight. And I wish I had started sooner. The food noise disappeared instantly. My hives stopped that I had been getting numerous times a day for about 6 years and that drove me crazy. And the weight started coming off.

Things I would change if I was starting now. Stay on the lower dose for as long as possible. I was told to go up after a few weeks and then each month so that’s what I did. But that really isn’t necessary at all.

I would like to tone up.

only problem I face now is I’m scared to come off!

SquishyGloopyBum · 05/04/2026 09:13

Today last year was when I thought ‘fuck it, I’m going to try the jabs’ and I’m so glad I did!!

My start weight on 6 April was 13st 1 and I’m now 10st 1 - 3 stone loss. I’m so much happier! I’m still taking them (2.5mg) and plan to for a few more months.

Well done to everyone over this last year. It’s been nice having MN friends to share this journey with.

for those who are still not at target - keep going!! Think how far you have come.

Happy Easter all.

Incognitoburrito88 · 05/04/2026 16:35

Hi everyone 👋 Sorry I’ve not been on for ages. I have been lurking and reading posts but not had time to type out all I want to say.

@Trinko sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. Hope you are doing ok now.

@Pepperwaggytail and @SquishyGloopyBum lovely to see you both.

I can’t remember the exact day of my first jab but I know it was the Friday before the Easter holidays so around a year ago.

SW: 13st 7lb
GW: 10st 7lb
CW: 10st 1lb

I was 9st 13lb yesterday but I ran 19 miles and I’m always slightly heavier the day after a long run.

I am so happy. I’ve been maintaining since September I think. I’m now down to 1.25mg /wk. My plan is to stay on MJ until I’ve been at goal for a year which will be September but I’m wondering about dropping my dose again after the Easter holidays. I generally gain a bit of weight during holidays but it seems to drop off easily enough in the weeks after. I’m sounding very blasé but actually I weigh every day and panic if my weight goes above 10st 4lb. Even my recovering anorexic daughter recognises that my eating habits are disordered! I am training for a 20 mile race and I am fine eating a bit more on running days but struggle to allow myself to eat more on rest days.

I love the way I look and I got my belly button pierced yesterday!! But it still all feels a bit temporary and I still have lots of fat clothes in a cupboard. Taking that first shot a year ago was the best decision I’ve ever made though.

Musermum · 12/04/2026 15:41

52 weeks on MJ checkin.

SW 18st 6 (size 22/24)
CW 12st 9 (size 16/18)
Loss 5st 11
No target weight, just keep moving it as I go.
I've been on 10mg for quite a few months now, buying the 12.5 and using for 5 weeks, also jabbing every 8 days to probably gained a week somewhere. I'm due to order again and now thinking of ordering 15mg and going down to 7.5mg so it lasts for 8wks. I can't see myself ever hitting a normal BMI but I'm overjoyed to be 29.5 instead of 42. Lightest I remember being is 11st when I was very fit and pre children. At 56 I'm OK with myself now. I'll taper down but can't see myself coming off anytime soon. Although my husband has list 2st on keto since February so we have less temptation in the house 😂.
Can't believe it's been a year for all of us...

Vipingviper · 19/04/2026 08:26

Hi everyone, you won’t recognise me from my username but was on the original threads.

@Trinko sorry to hear about your cancer, I hope you’ve got the all clear after surgery. I remember your charity shop finds!

I stopped weekly injections at the end of November last year but have been micro dosing with 2.5 once a fortnight ever since (I’m not sticking to it officially, sometimes it’s exactly 2 weeks sometimes a few days more, just going on how I’m feeling) I’ve been using a friends golden doses from a high dose pen to do so so have been very lucky to not have to pay for it. Yesterday was my last one as friend has stopped.

SW: 14st 7lbs
GW: originally 11st but altered as I reached that
CW: 9st 7lbs-11lbs (seem to fluctuate between these depending on what I’ve eaten or water intake)

Really happy with where I am now, hoping to maintain until at least the summer where hopefully my body will register as set point.

I am thinking if I start to put on that I would buy a pen and microdose for a few more months but will see.

My clothes from last year are huge on me but I’m too scared to get rid of any of them incase I put on weight! Have read so many horror stories of people putting all of the weight back on

RhaenysRocks · 19/04/2026 08:40

@Vipingviper wow well done. We were the same starting weight but I seem to have stalled at 11.10 for a while now. I cant afford to go up doses so sitting on a 5mg pen which I use over 8 weeks. Hoping now weather is better I'll fit in some exercise to help a bit more. Would love to shift another 2 stone!

I have to say there was a period early last year where I wasn’t eating very well, for about 2 months, had a lot of stress and neglected myself a bit, I just couldn’t face food but I had to force myself after as my mood dipped very low and I felt horrendous! Wouldn’t recommend!

11.10 is amazing! You must feel fantastic 🥰

RhaenysRocks · 19/04/2026 09:06

Thanks..I mean, I do but the stall is annoying. Im honest enough that tjings have slipped a bit though so im trying ti get back to no or little alcohol, and not letting the late evening snacks creep back in.

I’ve found I’m much more susceptible to a sweet treat these days, spoonful of chocolate spread usually fixes the craving!
I need to focus on more protein and fats for lunch to fill me up so I’m not looking for a late afternoon treat!

SaddlebagSal · 19/04/2026 16:32

Hi all, I’ve passed my one year anniversary in the middle of a stubborn plateau. I’ve lost 3 stone and am at a BMI of 26 but I wanted to get to a healthy BMI, so just under a stone to go.

Some of my good new habits had slipped. i had norovirus which always wipes me out, and i stopped my jabs for a fortnight as i naturally had no appetite. Although I lost half a stone just from that, it was mainly due to having an empty digestive system and then there was Easter with lots of chocolate about when I started eating again!. I restarted MJ at 5 mg and am now back to 10mg and feeling this is the right dose with the reduction in cravings and hunger.

Definitely feel that I’m “back on the wagon”, the fridge is restocked with my usual got-to filling foods (like humus and Greek yoghurt) and no chocolate left in the house. I know I can do this last stone with a bit more effort (TW 10st 7lb, BMI 24.5).

the last few weeks aren’t all a bad thing though, I have had an insight into what maintenance would look like for me and I think it will be manageable with a bit of willpower. I have cleared my wardrobe of most of my fat clothes so that’s another incentive if my waistband starts getting tight again. I’m determined that the money and effort that I have spent over the last year won’t be wasted!

RhaenysRocks · 19/04/2026 17:52

Glad im not the only one on a plateau. I really would love to get into the 10s by summer. Im really trying to do thus, one better choice or 'no thanks' at a time.

Summerbay23 · 19/04/2026 18:11

Well done everyone and sorry to hear about your illness @Trinko , you’ve been through a really rough time so don’t put too much pressure on yourself weight wise. Am sure you’ll be back on track soon.

I’ve been a slow loser and have lost 4.5 stone in the year which is brilliant although I still have a BMI of 30 so a bit more to go. I’m also struggling to keep buying at the higher prices. I have bought from Lotus as they support maintenance and seem to have good reviews. I don’t know if I’m aloud to mention discounts here but I have a new customer link on the promo board (£25 off which may help). Full disclaimer I get points off too but am guessing you can also pass on your own codes. Sorry if I’m not aloud to mention.

Uninvitedleaf · 20/04/2026 19:56

Hi everyone I passed my one year anniversary last week but we were away for a few days so I didn’t get the chance to record it. I’m taking it as being this week instead - started at 13st9 and as of this morning I was 10st5 so 3st and a bit gone in a year.

Having said that I’ve barely lost anything for the last 5 weeks or so, just the same couple of pounds going off and on. My BMI is between 27 and 28 and I intend to get that down into the healthy range so my target is about 9st. Not sure when I’ll get there, it will be at least 6 months and probably longer but I am OK with that. The last time I was this weight was about 25 years ago and the last time I was 9st I think the dinosaurs were still roaming the earth so there’s no rush. However I have cleared out all my old clothes so there’s no going back!

OP posts:
Pepperwaggytail · 21/04/2026 08:14

Happy Anniversary everyone-😎 gosh like all of us I never thought I’d get here! I’m still around target weight of 9st 7lb - my bmi is 24.5. Still taking 2.5mg a week and eating plenty really. If I hardly eat during the day because I forget I usually make up for it in the evening and eat a proper meal. We are still having Gousto meals so everything is cooked from scratch and I make sure we have plenty of chicken and veggies.

Im not ready to even try stopping - I have two unused 10mg pens in the fridge and im
going to slowly use them up. I think a lot of the pharmacies have cottoned on to the maintenance dosing because I’ve had a couple of them message me because I’ve not used them in months. They have said that if I wanted to reorder for maintenance Id have to start at 2.5ml again. Meaning they would get more money I assume!

Im not hoarding my bigger clothes because I don’t have room, but it is sad to give the bigger ones that I used to love wearing to charity. It’s mostly the jeans because they don’t look good when they are too loose everywhere.

In other news, I’m enjoying running in this lighter body and a friend has asked me to do an ultra marathon with her 😳. It’s 50k (30 miles), a women only run, and because it’s on a costal path (hilly!) so a lot of it will be walking/hiking. I’m seriously considering it. It would be nice to have a few fitness goals that are not just getting stronger and maintaining my weight. It will definitely motivate me to keep running. I love the idea of being a runner, love the kit, choosing events, talking about it. I just hate the actual running part! 😂 Seriously I hate the last few miles of a longer run, but usually enjoy the early miles.

Incognitoburtito 20 miles is awesome! I did 7.5 on Sunday (longest run for 17 years!) and I couldn’t get down the stairs yesterday morning! 😂

Keep up the good work lovelies, we are all amazing and in a very different place than we were a year ago!
