Good to hear from everyone ☺️ this is a long slow road to health and fitness so stay positive! You are all doing so well.
I did a 10k fun run at the weekend and amazed myself by actually enjoying it! I’ve also just realised that I’ve not had any gaviscon tablets (for GERD) for ages! I used to stockpile them nor they are going soft in my handbags!
Small wins!
😘

Can I ask you what your GERD felt like? I’ve been feeling like I’ve got a lump in my throat and almost sleep apnea. No burning or anything which I typically thought it was? But read it could be like a silent reflux?

It was a need to keep clearing my throat. I thought I had post nasal drip for years actually. I take Omeprazole anyway for a stomach ulcer and don’t really get acid reflux as long as I take that. GERD was an annoying cough, throat clearing (worse at night actually) and a hoarse voice at times. Easiest way to test it is to take some antacids and see if it stops! I was amazed they worked and carried Gaviscon everywhere. But recently I’ve been finding unused packs of them in all my handbags and I can’t actually remember the last time I needed one. 😊

Nice to read everyone’s updates you all seem
to be doing great.

I stayed the same this week.

I really need to work on some exercise and building muscle but I just have zero motivation to do anything.

You might find exercise is a lot easier now you weigh less! 😘

Mounjarogirl25 · 01/03/2026 07:54

My weight loss has really slowed down, I have lost 5st 11lb in total but only 4lb since Christmas, I have been away in that time and put 4lb on but 3 of that has gone now. I still have 1st 10lb to go but seems like it's out of reach at the moment. I need to up my dose and take it back to basics I think. I had hoped I would be at healthy weight by my 1 year anniversary but with 10lbs and only 4 weeks that unfortunately isn't going to happen.

I know I have done well to lose so much and will get there eventually, just frustrated with the stall!

Uninvitedleaf · 01/03/2026 11:52

@Mounjarogirl25i was just coming on to post an update as I haven’t checked in for a while and I was going to say much the same as you - things have really slowed down for me as well. I’ve also still got about 20lb to lose and with my current rate that will be between six months and a year. Having said that when I think back to where I was this time last year I am transformed so we need to remember that and not be too disheartened overall.

I would like to get things moving properly again without increasing dose if I can. I’ve had a couple of short breaks away since Christmas and I’ve really taken my eye off watching my calories - as a result I know I’m more likely to just have a biscuit (or three) instead of a healthier snack so I think I also need to go back to basics with that to kick start the losses again. If that doesn’t work I’ll look at a higher dose (fortunately still have plenty of scope for that) but I’m wary of letting the pen do all the work!). At least I am not putting weight on, like you I’m a few pounds down since Christmas, so I’m reassuring myself with the thought that this might be what maintenance looks like when I get there.

Twins 🙂 I too haven't been as good at counting my calories and have let more 'treats' sneak through than I normally would but yes, at least we know what maintenance might look like now.

We will get there!

Lundier · 03/03/2026 19:53

Popping my head in here. Hello lovely people!

I sort of forgot about Mounjaro. I've stayed with a small maintenance dose, about 2mg every 14 days, and my BMI has stayed around 22, which is where it was from my teens until about three years ago.

I don't calorie count and rarely weigh myself. I might get rid of the scales again. I never owned scales before. I just feel like I eat normally, though of course it's the MJ that makes me feel that! It's very convincing.

My weight hasn't changed very much for months, but my shape has changed. My waist is a bit smaller - perhaps that is skin tightening up again - and I am not as squishy and melted as I felt last year. Because I've always had a sort of hourglass shape, most of my clothes still fit perfectly well, and I haven't had to buy a whole new wardrobe like so many on here. I only have a few pairs of trousers that are clownishly large. The rest are just the sort of barrel legged tailored waist trousers that look fine at 32" and 28". There's a lot of give in my clothes, I discover.

It's so nice to see how everyone is getting on. Do say hello if you are lurking!

WinterOnItsWayOut · 07/03/2026 10:13

4 April 2025 - 12.12 (BMI 30.3/BF 45%)
TW: 10.5 -2.5 stone (BMI 24.2)
6 Mar 2026 - 9.12 (-3.0 stone - BMI 23.1/BF 33%)
As BMI is rather crude I also checked waist to height measurement and at 30 inch waist this is 0.46 which is in the healthy range. Woo hoo! 🙌

I took my last injection yesterday so the crutch has been kicked away….

11 months on MJ (which tbf is far longer than I was anticipating). Didn’t go above 2.5 and for the last 4 weeks have been on 1.25.

Am v happy with 3 stone loss (23% of my starting body weight 😮) and only have a bit of loose skin - since Xmas have been doing lots of exercise to try and tone up which will continue to be my focus.

This is my lowest weight as an adult ever I think (got to 9.13 in 2012) so I’m under no illusion this is my stable weight but I am really focussed on not having my historical weight rollercoaster continue…. 🤞. I’ve booked a number of holidays to try and keep me focussed 😂

It’s been lovely to have such a supportive group on here and hope everyone, including my ‘twins’ @SquishyGloopyBum and @Incognitoburrito88 are continuing to do well 💪

Definitely me too. I got below 12st just before Xmas and am still hovering between 11.9 and 11.11. I should be about 9st something at the top end of healthy. I've definitely lost the aversion to snacking I had at the start. Hunger still at bay but the evening boredom snacking and wine has definitely returned. I'm motivated though by not spending £200 a month for no result so as the days are getting longer and lighter I plan to actually start moving. Let's try and keep the thread going for us plodders at the back!

SaddlebagSal · 11/03/2026 12:48

I’m still creeping down ever so slowly and currently hovering around 11st 5lb (SW 14st3lb). Another half a stone will see me at a BMI of 25, and I’d ideally like to get to 10st 7lb. It’s going to take a while though.

I’ve also had the evening chocolate cravings coming back. Really weird, is not hunger or the old “must have something sweet” craving I got after a meal. It’s a more visceral need that only chocolate will hit, regardless of how much I’ve eaten already. I’m trying distraction and drinking a glass of water but only moderate success. Something I need to crack if I want to keep the weight off.

Im currently a size 14 on my top half and 16 bottom (starting 20/22). I’d be quite happy not to lose any more from my top half, my face is thinner but not gaunt and I’ve only got a little bit of sagging on my neck. It’s my bum and thighs that are still fat, and now squishy and wobbly too as they are less dense! I’m at the age where it’s face or figure and my top half is a good compromise on that.

SunnySpellsAhead · 14/03/2026 10:01

Great to hear about your success Winter! Let us know how you get on, and all the other maintainers too - don't forget us lot left behind!

I'm joining the plodder's club, everything seems so slow lately and only a 0.2lb loss this week. However, I've now lost a whole third of my weight - 11st 2.6 with a BMI of 28.8 currently. Thinking about it, this period after Christmas was always the worst time for me, it was always around May when I'd attempt to start a new diet, so doing incredibly well to be losing at all I suppose.

I hear the new 4 dose pens are arriving in April, grrr. I have a couple in hand and reluctant to order any more but I also want to switch supplier to Swift Doctor for maintenance eventually, so currently debating whether to do that now.

Happy weekend to all 🌞

Uninvitedleaf · 15/03/2026 11:36

I’m quite enjoying being a plodder, it’s nice just to have the weight loss happening naturally around everything else rather than being a major thing I think about or have to plan around day to day 😊. Couple more pounds off for me over the last two weeks so I am now down around 10st4 which means just over a stone to go.

I’ve lost 3st5 but it’s come off so slowly I have very little loose skin which is great, and I don’t even feel my face has suffered too much. Inspired by @WinterOnItsWayOut mentioning waist to height ratio I calculated mine for the first time in ages - I reckon it was well into the high risk category before I started. It’s still too high but not by much, so that remaining loss should sort it out which is another good reason to keep going.

I hadn’t seen the news about the redesigned pens rolling out from April. Hoping there will still be some stock of the old ones for a while yet!

Hello All, I do keep checking in to read about everyone.
I started last April at 103kg, and now weight 67.7kg.
I have been down on 2.5 dose since Christmas, and also spacing those doses out since January and my weight has been stable. As of tomorrow, it will be 2 weeks since my last jab so it should be out of my system. Let's see if I can still maintain the weight on my own.
I do feel as though I have more control over what I eat, and have got into the habit of just having a nibble of a treat, rather than stuffing the whole thing (or whole bag of things).
I've joined a gym and have been going regularly at least twice a week to do mainly strength work to firm up a bit.

I still have a tummy, so will introduce some cardio work shortly I think.
I now enjoy shopping so much more, and am a size 12 top, 14 bottoms.

Good luck to everyone coming off the jabs, and also good luck to those still going. Slow and steady must be a good way to go!
Well done to EVERYONE on their amazing journey.
xx

Cerberus1808 · 16/03/2026 18:06

Hows everyone doing these days?

I've just taken what my brain sees at the first big step down in dose now I've started titrating. The highest I ever got to was 8.33 (mainly cos I was trying to avoid going all the way up to 10 to save money) and have been on 7 for the last 6 weeks. I've just taken 5.66 today.
Logically it's still only the same drop down from 8.33 to 7, but my brain sees it as a huge drop from 8.33 to 5.66 😂🤦‍♀️

Know deep down I'm just being an idiot but seems a big step if you know what I mean!!
Still been losing while coming down from 8.33 to 7 so need to work on upping meaningful calories without just resorting to sugar, but I also kinda want to lose 2lb more cos that gets me to a round 6 stone loss 😂

Hope everyone's week is going OK so far

SeaDippingandLattes · 16/03/2026 18:43

Hi all,
So I caved and used the last pen in the fridge (about 3.75mg dose) a few times. Lost the Christmas weight and another 3 pounds to reach my goal weight but would quite like to get down to 11stone so that’s another 5 pounds left. I’ve been taking smaller doses out of a 10mg pen I had in the fridge but think I’ve read somewhere about four dose pens??? If I get one more 5mg pen with the idea to go down to 2.5 to see if I can maintain for 8 weeks will the pen work the same if I buy another now? I have about two more doses left in current pen.

hope all are doing well?

also anyone else getting a bit of a saggy turkey neck 😂 wtf!😳 chat gpt advices certain skin care, retinol and then something called morpheus8 or ultherapy…I’m 40 for context so think where have lost weight in the past and it’s been fine I’ve burnt that bridge now…

@SeaDippingandLattes You should be ok if you order now, new pens will be coming in April:

Your neck's fine btw!!

Pepperwaggytail · 17/03/2026 07:35

I ordered another pen (12.5!) which at my low dose will last me at least six months - plus still has the golden dose in it! I’ve got four pens in the fridge - two I need to take the golden doses and use them up, one 10 I’ve just started (didn’t have time to calculate golden dose last weekend) and the 12.5 which will sit there till needed!
I had a lovely week away in Amsterdam at the end of Feb, we walked loads but ate so much sugary food- not even loads of food, just definitely a lot more sugar. I’d gained 4lb when I got back, pre MJ I would have panicked and starved myself and taken probably a month of lose it. This time I just increased my dose to about 4mg and it dropped off in a couple of days. I think it was mostly water retention tbh.

For the plodders, can you increase your dose at all? I found that even a small increase got the weight moving again. Or if you are happy with a slow loss, crack on! I always wanted to lose slowly to give my body time to adjust.

I posted a link to a doctor I follow on tiktok just ⬆️ and she talks about a fairly large study of people in maintenance on MJ who are staying on a low dose and slowly moving from dosing weekly to every 10 days, then 14 days and so on, to see how long they can space their doses apart and still maintain their weight. She talks about obesity being a disease not a lifestyle choice or due to laziness which is very refreshing!

I've found going up from 5 to 7.5 hasn't really helped and I can't afford more. I am.planning to start exercising now the weather is better / lighter. How is everyone disposing of their sharps by the way? My box is full but I don't know where to take it.

have a look at your local council, mine will pick up sharps boxes and give you an empty one as part of their waste disposal services

RhaenysRocks · 20/03/2026 20:53

I looked but my council website seems to say they wont unless you're bedbound.

Hi everyone just checking in again as we approach the 1 year on MJ milestone!

SW 16.6
CW 12.7

I’m 1lb off a 4 stone loss which feels amazing! My life has hugely improved, I’ve been on roller coasters, zip lines, high ropes, water parks (worn a wetsuit!) just so many things I wouldn’t have done before. I can shop in normal high street shops, I don’t worry about weight limits or whether I’ll fit in plane seat etc.

I'm on 15mg now, but I take it in 2 doses as that suits me better.

The only measurement I took was my waist which was 50” at the start & is now 38”

I’ve still got a couple of stones to go & currently have no plans to come off MJ any time soon.

I’ve written all this as when I started I read so many threads of people who’d been on it for a while & it really encouraged me to try it.

Uninvitedleaf · 23/03/2026 16:19

I’ve thought the same about the sharps box - mine isn’t full yet but I’ve looked a couple of times and my local council doesn’t collect either so it’s been in the back of my mind that I’ll need to figure something out. I think Boots might take them here so I’ll need to investigate although I think it’s supposed to be more of a needle exchange thing for people with dependency issues so it might be a fun experience going in to ask if they can do it 😳.

I’m determined to fully stay off sweet stuff and get back to proper calorie counting this week. If I don’t I’ll definitely need to up my dose and that would make me feel that I’m using the jab to do all the work when I know paying a bit more attention to what I’m eating would be a far better approach!
