Another vote for Sienna straight jeans. As @QueenOfHiraeth says, not skinny, with a decent stretch and very flattering.

AnneinEdinburgh · 17/01/2026 11:32

I'm 61 and loving my life so much more 5 stone 4lbs down since Oct 24. Still obese and 13 stone 10 but in size 14 jeans and tops and 4 inches off my bra size. Of course it would have been lovely to do all of this earlier in life, but just enjoying it now! I hopefully have lots of life left. I do a worthy and slightly dull it and compliance job for a uni, and my new interest in clothes has lead to a fashion and textiles course. I fully intend to be a rather wrinkly zandra Rhodes one day.

Keep going all, age is just a label!

Onwards and downwards xx

I bet you look fantastic! I am really looking forward to regaining an interest in clothes - at a size 20/22 I've really not enjoyed getting dressed at all, and clothes have definitely been functional rather than fun. I can't wait to enjoy putting outfits together like I used to (and not getting into a state before going out because I have - literally - nothing nice to wear)!

@AnneinEdinburgh you will have to share some of your creations with us in due course!

If MJ had been around earlier for weight loss I would have jumped at the chance but it’s taken me until I am 62 to lose 5 stone 9lbs. Yes I wish the weight hadn’t piled on in my 30s & 40s and yes I wished I had lost it earlier but I am where I am (6lbs from a BMI of 25). Now kids have flown the nest and I’ve taken early retirement I am focused on my health with stress levels down, BP normal and cholesterol good. I would like a bone density DEXA scan just to know what is happening in terms of bone health but that is my spring goal to sort out.

Loving how I can now go into a shop and just browse for size 12 on the rails with the occasional size 10 depending on the brand.

YellowStockings · 18/01/2026 08:08

Week two weigh in

SW 111.05
CW 107.85
Short term GW (mid-March): 100
Long term GW: 80

3.2kg off so far, I’m very happy with that. Took my third dose of WG last night. My period is due tomorrow so I’m hoping that some of the premenstrual bloating will ease off too.

Sam187 · 18/01/2026 09:44

Thanks everyone who recommended the sienna that's exactly the ones I went for. Had to go for long though, as I'm 5'7 and just at that the reg are too short length.

I think they look good (I hope), had hoped to be one size smaller but I'm close. Taking the win in that.

WeAllHaveWings · 18/01/2026 13:12

Forgot to weigh in/jab yesterday while doing a bit of diy in my bedroom so weighed in the en-suite this morning and it showed a 5lb loss 😮, cleared my usual bedroom spot and got a more believable 1lb loss 🤣

End of week - 80 (5 x 2.5mg, 53 x 3.75mg, 24 x 3mg)

SW - 21st 05lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 11st 10lbs BMI 24.6
Target - Maintain below 12st

Total loss - 9st 9lbs (135lbs), 45.2%

Losses (24H2) 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2,3,3,1,4,0 (avg 2.3)
Losses (25H1) 0,3,2,1,3,1,1,0,2,3,3,-1,3,2,2,1,2,2,1,1,0,3,0,1,2,1 (avg 1.6)
Losses (25H2) 3,0,2,0,1,2,1,0,2,0,2,1,1,2,0,0,1,1,1,1,0,1,1,2,0,0 (avg 1.0)
Losses (26H1) -2,2,1

@AnneinEdinburgh First attempt at chicken and rice soup yesterday. The result was tasty enough but closer to chicken and rice risotto 🤣 Less rice and less chicken next time I think!

Menopause symptoms have been returning - flashes and disrupted sleep over the last 3-4 months - so after chatting with GP on Friday I have increased my estrogen patch. Fingers crossed it works! Will look at decreasing Mounjaro slightly again once the new (huge!) patch has settled in.

Like many of you (though I’m still a young 57 😉) I wish this treatment had been available earlier. The last two decades of my life might have looked very different. It has come late for many of us, but not too late to matter, to bring better health and enjoyment now and into the future! I’m so glad it is an option for people now, so they don’t go on for decades carrying the same burden of shame, failure, and lack of control over our own bodies that so many of us did.

Well done everyone on their loses this week and/or just for still being on the journey to better health. 💗

MooBaggage · 18/01/2026 22:52

Week 2 of my holiday and I'm struggling to keep to good habits and be fully OK with that... more crisps are sneaking in to the day, and Sangria most evenings - I'm stressing about what the scales are going to say when I get back. I wonder if this will ever go away? Having a lovely time, but my weight is on my mind constantly... 🙄

On the up side, I'm walking tons more each day than I do at home, and getting lots of sun and fresh air. Also swimming in a freezing cold pool, which I'm telling myself is very good for me...! 😁

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 19/01/2026 09:12

Enjoy it @MooBaggage and then get back in the saddle when you return. After all you may be pleasantly surprised at how little you put on and then how quickly it comes off. Now we are all getting slimmer we can enjoy holidays like ‘normal’ people

GiveMeWordGames · 19/01/2026 09:24

Glad you're having a lovely time @MooBaggage . I would imagine (hope?) the weight vigilance, while it might not go away entirely, might settle a bit with experience. ie right now you're figuring out what happens when you loosen the strings a bit but then the MJ will also allow you space/confidence to learn what to do when you're back, to course correct. That "oh, this is what a normal relationship with food looks like!" thing.

Well done @WeAllHaveWings on losing nearly 50% of yourself! Over 9 stone is amazing. I'm joining you in the one-pound-off-this-week corner, bringing me to 11st 11.5lbs. Heading to the pharmacy later this morning. I've all but decided to stick at 10mg for the next pen, although depending how things go I might be reducing clicks towards the end of it.

At 43 weeks, started March 24th 2025.

SW 17st 4
CW 11st 11.5
GW 11-12st

Mounjarogirl25 · 19/01/2026 15:57

@GiveMeWordGames my (almost) weight loss twin, I hit 11.11 this morning from a starting weight of 17.6 on 30th March 🙂

Opposite of an NSV, I had convinced myself that 11 and a half stone would get me to a healthy BMI and thought I was only 4lb away... just checked and it's actually 11 stone 😩 so I have further to go than I thought to get to healthy.

Goal weight 10 stone

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 21/01/2026 10:04

Hello all, been lurking and not posting for a few months as I’ve been on a real losing plod - only 6kg off in total since September. BUT - this morning I dipped below 13 stone for the first times in years! It definitely feels like things are kicking in again and I’m close to a 5 stone loss. My next goal is to tip into the overweight BMI criteria 🙌

For anyone angry or ashamed at past you for becoming overweight, be kind to yourself. I know I piled on weight over the years for lots of different reasons, some within my control like eating too much of the wrong thing and others - like my genetic makeup and some hard life things happening - beyond my control. We can’t change what’s already past, but we’re all taking action for present us and future us and that’s a major positive. Concentrating on what we can influence in the now for the future is a much better use of our mental energy.

Zebracat · 21/01/2026 11:18

Good morning. Envious of Moos sunshine because it’s horrible here. I’m nearly back to my pre Christmas weight, but I do feel I’ve been wasting this mounjaro opportunity lately. We just can’t seem to get back to normal after Christmas. I’m currently on 10 mg, think I need to go up to 12.5. On the plus side, I have got back to swimming this week, altho I still haven’t resumed T’ai chi.

RobinEllacotStrike · 21/01/2026 12:17

I've been struggling a bit too @Zebracat
I'm on max MJ now but losses have certainly slowed right down if not paused - I've put it down to the cold weather. Then again the last year has been full of long plateaus so might just be another.

NSV my belly is flatter/slimmer & stronger than it has ever been. This is no doubt due to daily hot yoga which has made me very strong. Still have a bit of belly fat so I'm not into visible abs territory but I feel like I might be heading there. As well as getting strong through regular yoga practices being slimmer helps certain postures too. I can now hold boat like a pro for example and many postures I used to struggle to hold are effortless now.

The last couple of visits to the doctors height/weight machine I've measured 2cm taller - my spine has elongated due to the yoga, and my height has increased from 173cm to 175cm. Impressive!!!

ShrankLastWinter · 21/01/2026 12:55

Oh wow ok I’m off to look up yoga classes!!

This is so lovely to read, well done! I used to do quite regular yoga and I definitely found that becoming fat(ter) made a lot of poses suddenly really hard. I can't wait to start again - you've inspired me to pull my mat back out, even if I don't feel ready to join a class just yet.

RobinEllacotStrike · 21/01/2026 15:34

get your mats out wonderful women!!

Mainly yoga makes me feel sane but also it is fantastic exercise. people never think of yoga making you strong but I can attest it really does make you very strong - as well as calm and it really helps me to feel very posiitively towards my body. Every time I turn up for yoga I feel like I am turning up for myself. Consistency is everything & so very powerful.

When I started back to yoga with a regular practice (nov 24) I could barely touch my toes, my butt was very high in the air in childs pose, downdog was punishing & I thought I was going to throw up with every forward bend. But this all swiftly changes with regular practice & now downdog really is a resting pose & my head is nearly on the floor in a standing forward bend.

Remember there are many modifications in yoga for bigger bodies and larger women on Instagram are illustrating these so beautifully - yoga really is for any body type - just modify as you go and stick within your edges/limits.

Be gentle, turn up & with regular practice you will see progress everyday.
🧘🏼💐

I used to do yoga and liked it , but I hate being hot, that’s why I like swimming, think I’ll look for a normal class. Thank you, Robin.

RobinEllacotStrike · 21/01/2026 16:55

I miss swimming - our town pool closed in 2024 & I hadn't swum there for a while as I was sea swimming. But now the sea is too cold for me, and I want to pool swim again. It will hopefully open again later this year & I'd love to go back to a lovely long swim or 2 every week.

Its just occurred to me I haven't really had a "proper" pool swim since I've lost weight - will I sink without all that bioprene I used to have 😁

MooBaggage · 21/01/2026 17:06

I've been sea swimming today! And want to declare a very exciting/weird NSV, depending on your views - we went to a beach the other day (just me and dp!) and I went topless..! Most of the women were, and it was a v quiet beach - so I thought why not...?! The feeling of being OK with getting my body out was so amazing - not in a million years would I have done this before now. Mainly I've been wearing my Snag bikini, which is HUGE and covers most of me, but still feels very freeing, that I feel like I can wear something like this!

Lots of walking, which I hope is counterbalancing the crisps and Sangria - another 10 days to go...

I now do Pilates twice a week, one mat and one barre. I started classes in September. My balance has really improved over the past few months and posture is a lot better.

I now do Pilates twice a week, one mat and one barre. I started classes in September. My balance has really improved over the past few months and posture is a lot better.

Ultimately this MJ journey is all about future proofing my body - at 58 I was really starting to feel the burden of my weight and lack of fitness. I was having lots of joint pain esp ankle & knee - this has pretty much disappeared now. I've also watched in horror this impact of lifelong obesity had on the quality of life of my mother as she aged. It really can be the most vicious downward spiral into helplessness, immobility, various metabolic syndrome disorders and poor quality of life.

Improvements to balance etc are so important (I have similar benefits from yoga) and the committment to improving fitness & strength and the results of renewed respect for and enjoyment of my body, has really been the best part of this journey.
