Morning! Jab day at 42 weeks for me.

Early 50s, 5ft 8, started 24th March 2025. Currently on 10mg.

SW 17st 4
CW 11st 12.5
GW 11-12st

So 1.25lbs off since last week. Which is perfectly good especially at this stage, but I'm really impatient now I'm in my goal range.😬 Daft, I know. I just want to squeak under the magic 25 BMI. Also, this is my second to last jab from my current pen. I'm wondering if I should begin to think about titrating down and my next pen should be 7.5. I'm going to book my appointment at the pharmacy for next Monday and have a chat then.

I've got a long schlep up north this evening for a job tomorrow and I want to have eaten before I get to the hotel so I'm going to give M&S's nutrient dense stuff a whirl, assuming the Kings X branch has a decent range.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 12/01/2026 13:27

I am back to being 6lbs away from my BMI of 25. I have 1 full 10 mg pen and will be taking second dose from the 10 mg pen I started last week. I am toying with the idea of getting another 10mg pen just in case the final 6/7 lbs takes much longer than expected. I can always use it for 5mg doses when reducing doses on maintenance. I am not going to reduce until I am at goal @GiveMeWordGames for the sake of 250 I just don’t want to jeopardise the past year’s efforts

GiveMeWordGames · 12/01/2026 14:41

That's a good point @TheSlimmingPumpkin. I've come so far it would be silly to get it wrong now.

I forgot about the two year only limit. I am happy that that has been removed.

Even the Oushk circle thing isnt as good as it used to be. I have switched to Pharmulous for their lower prices or occasionally others if I see a good price.

Yes, me too! 19 months ago 2 years seemed such a long time! It’s is only 5 months away now and knowing how quit he time flies I’d be in panic mode if it was still a limit!

YellowStockings · 12/01/2026 16:50

Over five stone in under a year is just amazing, I'm so impressed @GiveMeWordGames !

YellowStockings · 12/01/2026 16:55

NSV today - I've realised my jeans which used to be too tight now fit perfectly (and my already-too-big-but-can-wear-with-a-belt jeans are now far too big, and so is the - plus-size - belt). This feels wild to me given I only started ten days ago, but I was already eating a bit better for a week or so before starting the jab.

I think my face looks less puffy too!

I remember that stage vividly. The size 20 jeans that were just getting "a bit tight" as my weight kept creeping up. And within a couple of weeks of starting MJ they felt comfy again. It was the point where I thought "shit, this is really actually working!" Well done! You're definitely on your way...

Yes! They are size 20 jeans too haha. Thank you 😊

Sam187 · 12/01/2026 18:18

Well done @GiveMeWordGames. Incredible losses!

That's such a nice feeling early on @YellowStockings. It'll give you the boost to keep ploughing on ☺️.

I've had a massive clear out today, and about to spend my evening uploading to vinted. Finally accepting that my clothes don't fit and I should make way for a smaller me.

I came across this dress, that I remembered wearing to a work even last May, just before I started MJ in June. I remember the photo being my catalyst for change. Naturally I tried the dress on today, and I'm very pleasantly surprised to see such a difference! Still a long way to go, but closer than I was then!

Is this a NSV? My knickers have got really baggy and keep falling down inside my trousers. All I can say, is it’s a good job I don’t wear skirts! Time to drop a size I think.

eleanorwish · 12/01/2026 18:24

Sorry for lowering the tone

I love this!! 🤣
I have what I call night time knickers, big high waisted comfy ones, and a couple that I'm still wearing are a size 20 and realistically I'm now a high end 14, so it's quite funny wearing them and looking down and they are literally baggy!!
Still gonna wear them for bed though 🤭

GiveMeWordGames · 12/01/2026 18:49

That's a great change between those two pics @Sam187 . All over but your lower legs are looking particularly slim now. You've definitely got this. 💪

Baggy and falling down pants are absolutely an NSV. 😁 🤣

YellowStockings · 12/01/2026 18:53

@Sam187 wow such a huge difference! Well done, you look fab.

HumBumBum · 12/01/2026 19:00

Hi all, my first check-in of the year with a slight gain over Christmas that I haven’t quite managed to shift as we still have mince pies and chocolate hanging around (and because it’s quite nice just maintaining for a while, I’ll get onto losing again shortly).

What I have been doing is going to the gym a LOT and I’m pleased to report that my bum is making a return - in a good way!

It disappeared after about 4 stone loss and its bones made themselves known sitting on wooden chairs, but with a concerted effort on the Crosstrainer, it’s finally getting firmer and the bingo wings seem to have retreated a bit as well.

So all in all I’m happy with my progress although I still need to lose another stone to get to BMI 25.

Sam187 · 12/01/2026 20:44

@GiveMeWordGames thank you so much. I noticed the legs before anything else too. I don't think I realised they were ever that big. Wild! Keeping hold of the dress to hopefully see continued differences.

@YellowStockings thanks so much. It'll be you in no time ☺️

alltablenochairs · 12/01/2026 21:27

@eleanorwish absolutely! Nothing worse than your underwear going south.

Crikeyalmighty · 12/01/2026 21:32

@Sam187 it was lower legs on more that were really noticeable really quickly and clearly you too - I only did 6 weeks mounjaro but have kept up the regime on pure willpower

MooBaggage · 12/01/2026 21:41

@Sam187 they are ace photos - so encouraging! Your legs and upper arms are really different - and your middle is changing shape - brilliant stuff!

My middle is currently doing the reverse - We've found the most amazing Chinese and Italian restaurants here that do gluten free food and I am soooo full of food...! I've been very grateful to jab tonight and have told my Mum and dp that I won't be eating as much tomorrow and Wednesday, which they understand. I also need to stop having Sangria every night...! 🤔😃

Today is also my one year jabiversary - so strange to have been in what has been a steady, calm, positive routine for a whole year re: my weight. I am proud of myself!

So the mission for me is to not put too much weight on over the next 3 weeks - and then to spend February on damage repair!

OP posts:
QueenOfHiraeth · 12/01/2026 23:56

Happy Jabiversary @MooBaggage !
I am a great believer that life is for living. Enjoy your holiday, limit the damage where you can but, if you can't, just have fun and allow time to repair afterwards. ENJOY!!!

RobinEllacotStrike · 13/01/2026 10:40

@Sam187 those are wonderrful photos! You have very clearly lost a lot of weight. The kitchen roll effect will really start to kick in now.

@MooBaggage I'm getting properly envious of all your fantastic holidays! I don't have one lined up and I need to get on it! Congrats on your one year jabberversary.

This really resonnated with me: "so strange to have been in what has been a steady, calm, positive routine for a whole year re: my weight."
Aside from losing weight the calmness around the entire process (once the intial excitement settles down) , reduced anxiety, more positive feelings towards my body/self for a hugely extended period of time isn't something I can really recall experiencing before. Along with a Terminator ability to effortlessly "just keep going" this is an overlooked benefit of GLP1's.

One thing I want to say - just here - is I am too scared to sell/donate all my old clothes. Or at least the ones that are one off's or I really like. They are all in the garage. All this "you are going to gain it all quickly" has got into my head - I think I will be one of the people who need a medicated end game to this. Affordability will be a big issue.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 13/01/2026 11:45

I hear you @RobinEllacotStrike I have cleared out all my 20/18 sizes but have kept some 16s and will keep some 14s just in case. A lot of size 12 tops now fits but I like the feel of a size up fleece.

I am back to weighing daily and hope to have got rid of the festive gain by the end of the weekend. I am also back on my fasting window which went to pot with all the December/New Year activities. It’s taken me a couple of weeks to retrain DH into the idea that I don’t want breakfast at the same time as him and I don’t want a late evening meal.

Timetofindme · 13/01/2026 13:42

@WeAllHaveWings I made a batch of your ham and lentil soup. Having some for my lunch, delicious! Cheated a bit and used my multi cooker to cook the ham hock/ make the stock - it pressure cooks stuff so did it in there and then added the veg etc and put the ham back in. Delicious - thank you!

WeAllHaveWings · 13/01/2026 14:23

Glad you are enjoying it @Timetofindme it's a fairly standard recipe here in Scotland so I won't take the credit for it! I am eating a bowl right now for my late lunch. I love it when the ham hough is very smokey (and not too salty!) and you get that flavour through the soup, but this one isn't very smokey this time.

I wanted to batch make a big pot of chicken and rice soup (mum used to make it, but I never made myself and dh gets from the "roll shop" when working and said it would be nice for a change) but everything I read seems to say the rice goes to mush so doesn't sound good for freezing.

I saw somewhere that made the lentil soup with chicken, but think it would be a bit flavourless without the smoked ham.

RobinEllacotStrike · 13/01/2026 14:48

i've just had the last of my BigPot lentil soup. Sometimes I put chicken in it. Usually lots of veggies, garlic, lemon juice - its super tasty with or without the chicken.

This lot was supposed to be made with red lentils, but I didn't ahve any so I used brown lentils - they keep their shape & are delicious.

I fall apart a bit when I run out of by BigPot soup so I will make another batch tonight.
