Mounjaroday · 12/10/2025 19:08

Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Have an amazing weekend @sweetpickle2 ! You're gonna look stunning in your dress!

@Mounjaroday beautiful dress, you are gonna wear the heck out of it!

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck a perfect dress for you!

CoolLimeSheep · 10/11/2025 16:14

@Zibb thanks i did switch to wegovy for price reasons and went upto 2.4mg this month as thought it wasn't working first month and it is knocking my socks off this past week or so and I guess im still a little scared that weight will regain if stopping but you really have done fantastic so i have hope! Ill see what they say tommorow and go from there as being at top end of healthy bmi and dont want lose much more at all lowest id say for myself would be 10 stone which is 4lb away as for me my target was just to get to 10 stone 5.

Zibb · 10/11/2025 22:15

@CoolLimeSheep you just have to find what works for you. I know you'll continue to smash it, whatever your maintenance plan ends up being!

Unrelated - I have a whole new bunch of staff at work now, to get through the Xmas period, and it's so crazy to me that none of them know I used to be almost 20st. Like they look at me and all they see is normal size person?? Whaaaat.

CoolLimeSheep · 10/11/2025 22:20

@Zibb its so strange and awesome no staff having a clue and just seeing you as you how you are now 😀 what an acheivement but nice to have a clean slate in other people's eyes who never knew you then 😍
Smashing it 💪

usedtobeaylis · 11/11/2025 10:24

Randomly having what I assume are Mounjaro side effects, very bizarre since I haven't had any for ages. Feeling a bit of nausea, dry mouth, fatigue. Assume they're Mounjaro related since it's accompanied by burping 😆

@Zibb weirdly I was thinking along similar lines as I have an interview lined up and need to buy something to wear. And I thought, they don't know me fat with ill-fitting shapeless clothes so I can wear anything and they'll be none the wiser.

Mounjaroday · 11/11/2025 22:49

Here is a question.

So, losing weight this year has fundamentally and immeasurably changed my life for the better.

Whilst being fat sure made me unhappy, being slim doesn’t automatically bring happiness. But what it has done, is given me the headspace and motivation to start tackling other areas of my life that need addressing.

My question is ‘what next?’. This time next year, what else do you want to have achieved? I have two:

  • Jesus Chris, I have GOT to become a tidier person. I really do my head in with how messy I am.
  • I have got to sort my professional life out. I’m not earning enough to be in any way financial stable and it’s time to change that.

(Don’t get me wrong. Being slim 100% puts a smile on my face every single day. It’s just not the magic bullet for everything).

CoolLimeSheep · 11/11/2025 23:13

I hear you and defo feel that it doesnt magically fix everything I too definately have to be alot tidier.
And want keep pushing myself and try different things still need do four waterfall walk and defo snowdon again and ive seen a inflatable run id like to try.
And i magically thought losing all this weight would give me better fertility but will have see what happens when I have my assessment which is now booked 20th nov results be 4th December

@Zibb wow. Yes. I get this too
i start a new job next week and it is weird to think these new colleagues will have no idea that I have lost 25% of my body weight since Christmas and will just see this petite UK size 8-10 lady!!!!!

it’s a lot to get my head around

WoolerOwl · 12/11/2025 07:12

Yes. I get it too. The most obvious is having sorted out all my clothes and got rid of the stuff that wasn’t good (and was bought in desperation) and then having organised it so I can see what I’ve got. Previously, it was just all a mess and I couldn’t see what I had and was buying new stuff that I didn’t need.

True of getting organised in the new house too; it feels much tidier.

i think it’s true of the job too. I had the confidence to go for a new job and get it, and I have a sense of purpose about what I want to get out of it now. I feel like I can seize the opportunities that come with it without feeling self-conscious and awkward.

i wonder how much is losing weight itself, how much is new healthy habits that are spreading into other areas of life (including exercise), and how much the strange calm that comes from the actual MJ.

TheYouYouAre · 12/11/2025 09:47

Those of you tapering or in maintenance, please do keep us updated. I will be in this stage soon and finding it really useful to read your experiences.

I've been plateaued at 70kg for the last 5 weeks, but things are finally shifting downwards a bit again now. Yesterday I reached a new goal: a BMI below 25! My plan was to continue on 3.33mg (highest dose I've done throughout being on MJ) until I reach 68kg, then go into maintenance phase.

Zibb · 12/11/2025 21:30

I had an event this evening, got all dolled up for the first time in about 3 years, and felt really nice! My youngest son told me how beautiful I looked. Sweet, right? Then he went on to tell me my head is now too big for my body and I should probably get a smaller head to match now 🤣 if only mounjaro could have shrunk my massive head instead of my bum 😂

WoolerOwl · 13/11/2025 07:16

Gosh. 65kg this morning. 10 stone 3. Half a kilo or 1 pound to goal.

CoolLimeSheep · 13/11/2025 12:23

@Zibb kids say the funniest things honestly 🤣 bet it was so nice to be dolled up but so nice he said how beautiful you were.
@WoolerOwl awesome youve caught up with me
Other news im still losing weight and juniper have annoyed me so decided start coming down mg each month but still order on hold and no contact from them so maybe will have cold turkey but will see

NSV- can see/feel the muscles in my inner thighs. Don’t think I’ve ever been able to do that in my life!

SpiralSister · 14/11/2025 08:05

Morning warriors!

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet. Had an operation. Recovering now. It’s been brilliant to hear all your successes!

I have maintained at goal again this week, so that’s great. Definitely eaten a bit more (and more calorific things too, as DH has been doing all the cooking!)

Pissed off that I can’t gym or swim at the moment, although walking is ok as of today so going to take the dog out for a lovely autumnal amble.

Have a great weekend all! 💐

WoolerOwl · 14/11/2025 09:54

Hope you're ok @SpiralSister. Recover well! 💐

laundryhamper · 14/11/2025 10:21

@CoolLimeSheep
Juniper annoyed me too. Did you know in their t&cs it says they will not provide any documentation eg prescription evidence to “support a transfer to another provider” !!

skyscrapersinging · 14/11/2025 11:40

Hello all, it’s finally happened - somebody has said to me “don’t lose any more weight”! I feel
like I’ve joined the cool girls team at last!
Have just hit 25kg weight loss, which is more than I need/want. Need to sort out my dosing and taper down, current week I took 6.0 from my existing 7.5 pen, but clearly still too high. I’ll try 5 next jab.

@TheYouYouAre I am nominally in maintenance, but actually still losing weight. Will keep you posted.
@Zibb lol re kids comments. My 18 yr old told me I don’t dress like a Gen X mum, I dress like a Milennial mum. “Which is worse”. Ouch.
@Mounjaroday goals going forward are to be more proactive in my life and career and gain some bloody muscles. I look like a cooked noodle when unclothed.
@SpiralSister wishing you a good recovery from op!
@CoolLimeSheep wishing you luck with fertility testing, all digits crossed for you.
happy weekend losers!

CoolLimeSheep · 14/11/2025 13:01

Thanks @skyscrapersinging will keep you all updated

usedtobeaylis · 15/11/2025 08:44

In a bit of a quandary now about my remaining pens. I think I need a slight bump up but I really wanted to to be in a position to start tapering down. I've got the 3 x 15mg pens left and that's it, no more after that. Do I just do the bump up for a few weeks with one of the pens and use the last two to start tapering down after Christmas? Or do I rough knuckle it and start now? I've been on 8.3mg so I would need to bump up to 9mg with a random 6mg dose in there, or just go right up to 10mg. 10mg sounds scary and full of side effects even though I'm not far off it anyway! 😆

usedtobeaylis · 16/11/2025 12:02

W39 Day 1 - week 1 on 8.5mg
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 3lb
Loss this week: 0
Total loss: 4st 2lb

This is the 4th week at this weight which I'm ok with this week. I'm not sure how to proceed as I am still two stone overweight but I feel my face is looking quite aged and haggard right now. Not helped by my absolutely insane hair regrowth. I look so unkempt. I have got a fair bit of excess skin around my eyelids and jawline, and my wrinkles look at lot deeper than they did when I was bigger. In my case it's definitely true that fat, plumper skin made me look younger.

However, I am approaching the bend to 50 years old and how 'young' should I really look without cosmetic interventions and camera filters? I feel better and healthier and will look better once my hair regrowth translates into some luscious Rapunzel locks 😅

I opted not to bump up to 9mg, and decided to go for getting 7 doses out my pen which is only an extra 0.2mg per week. With the end of mounjaro in sight I don't think there's any point looking for decent bumps any more, I have to start preparing to go it alone and plan to start tapering down in January. I actually feel like I wouldn't be devastated if I maintained my current weight over Christmas even though I'm technically still on a weight loss journey - being realistic I won't exercise as much when the weather is shit. Though I would still like to break the barrier and get into the 11-stone-something bracket.

Zibb · 16/11/2025 17:36

I didn't realise how much mj dulled my enjoyment of food. I am back to really enjoying food again and that makes it very difficult to stop eating even if i am very full. I need to be more careful about portions and making sure i pack away any leftovers as soon as possible.

I've still managed to lose a bit more though. Stopped in early September at 72.8kg and today i was 66.4kg.
I can't bring myself to properly weigh everything and count calories again so I am just sorting of estimating and being careful not add any extra nibbles or snacks or little tasty bits like butter or oil when cooking. I have been having a little treat every day, a couple of biscuits or a bit of chocolate (and not just a single square of dark chocolate either lol).

I bought a size 10 warehouse dress on vinted and it fits fine which is just crazy!

I have been trying to do a few core and glute exercises a couple of times a week but exercise is hard right now.
I am always exhausted and tired and I have never ever felt the cold like this before.
I think my only saving grace exercise wise is I spend 40 hours a week on my feet and moving about. Fitbit says I still burn an average of 2249 calories a day which explains the continued weight loss despite the fact that I am eating a fair bit more these days (the hunger is brutal some days).

So now that I am a healthy BMI I am not stressing about losing more weight. If it happens that's cool. I will reassess in a couple of months as well. Give myself a bit of time to adjust to this new body. Some days I feel ok as I am.

laundryhamper · 16/11/2025 17:53

@usedtobeaylis I didn’t see any additional side effects from going from 7.5 to 10 - actually for me they got better as by the time I went to 10, I’ve been on MJ for three months and had got used to it. These days I have no side effects at all. But everyone’s different obviously.

CoolLimeSheep · 16/11/2025 19:19

@usedtobeaylis im doing my titrating abit different juniper got back to me finally and were going down mg each month so 1.7mg next month for me as I switched to wegovy and so on. Hopefully be weightloss injection free by february by my calculations. Good luck and you're doing fantastic.
@Zibb good to not stress about losing weight anymore I feel same if it comes off ok if not im fine.
Still wondering if I should start weighing monthly or stick to weekly so any ideas anyone will be welcome.
And dont get me started on the cold wow its like being frozen all the bloody time 🥶☃️
