Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Checking in on the new thread.

Start weight 104.8kg
Current weight 61.1kg

I have lost just over 6.5stone and am just a few pounds away from goal weight so currently thinking about what maintenance will look like. I am not planning to stay on MJ long-term but do want to taper down very very slowly.

Enjoying buying clothes in a size 10 but not enjoying being freezing all the time 🥶

WoolerOwl · 14/10/2025 07:15

67.6 (10 st 8.5) this morning which is a bit of a whoosh over the last few days. (I’m weighing more frequently as I get near to goal, and I intend to carry on weighing daily). 33.4kg lost.

PurpleCoo · 13/10/2025 22:56

@SpiralSister you look fantastic, well done. So amazing to see everyone’s progress and hard work paying off

@sweetpickle2 I still have a dose left in a pen, and an unopened 7.5mg pen, but just ordered another to avoid having too long a break and it causing issues with ordering. Also, as I get 6 doses out of my pen, I could well have a healthy bmi by then, so it might be trickier trying to switch when technically on maintenance. I have gone with a subscription, and you can delay the date quite easily by the looks of things, so at least I can slow them down a bit (within limits I imagine)

Edited

THis is interesting, can I ask who you are with? As might switch to them and get an order in before my limit is up.

It's funny isnt it, when the news of the price increase first broke I ordered my 2 pens and told myself I was tapering down and that was that. But now the idea of facing life without and putting the weight back on... it's hard!

Checking in... I have to say, my motivation is a bit blah at the mo. Starting weight 13.4lb, current weight 10.11-12lb, so I'm in the 'healthy' bracket, but it feels such slow loss (1lb a week - I know that's in the target range still), my hair has really thinned, and my legs still feel massive. I definitely see a difference (noticed my armpits are more hollow yesterday!) but I still don't see 'slim' in the mirror. It makes me wonder what BMI I'd actually be satisfied with!

PurpleCoo · 14/10/2025 17:42

@sweetpickle2 I have gone with Curely, simply because it was the second cheapest 10mg, and I had already used the first cheapest! It looks like a semi reasonable discount for repeats as well. Approval was straightforward as well, I just needed to show evidence of my prescription, and state what my goal weight is. Email communication was quick when they asked me for info (I hadn't attached the file). It's taken a couple of days to dispatch, but I am not in a hurry so it's fine.

Rightstrideoflife · 14/10/2025 19:51

Checking back in! Name changed and still not wearing black trousers!

Very glad to see so many of you still doing well.

SwiftDoctor were swift! Jabbed 0.06ml. Not a typo. Will see how it goes.

The first few months off Mounjaro were fine but the last few weeks have been tough. I'm going to stay on Mounjaro for a few more months, probably until after winter.

Has anyone ever heard of anyone using Mounjaro as needed or if there's anything been written about it? Yesterday was jag day and I felt like I didn't really need it which got me thinking about potentially as I'm tapering down not taking a set dose at a set time. It's not something I would just charge into doing without a fair bit of reading up on it though as I don't know how effective intermittent doses would even be or if there could be unintended consequences.

@usedtobeaylis
I Read on MN that a dr had suggested increasing days between jabs when tapering into maintenance Before reducing dose.

i need to do more research! If you find anything pls share!

Yes I think a lot of people increase time between doses. I did the same. People seem to react differently to day 8 or 9 after a jab. Some people say they immediately felt hungry whereas others don't.

I was in the latter category so tapering down worked really well. Not saying it wouldn't work for me former group but it may be harder.

Also depends how comfortable you are going off script.

sweetpickle2 · 15/10/2025 12:19

After this convo I decided to delay Monday's jab (which would have been weekly) to today. I realise you might be look for more concrete evidence than this, but I'm not dead yet!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 15/10/2025 12:22

Hi everyone, wow, a new thread!

Life has been hectic recently and I'm struggling with a lot, particularly losing weight. I've stalled at just a touch over 70kg despite being well within calorie deficit. I always believed the less in, more out results in loss but its not the case for me in peri menopause.

Anyway, I'm on my last 7.5 pen and need to decide what to do next. I might go down to 5 and then 2.5, I cant really afford it but I also can't go back to how I was before.

Well do e to everyone, especially those that keep pushing no matter how tough it gets!

Rightstrideoflife · 15/10/2025 19:39

Part of me really didn't want to be one of those who needed to go back on Mounjaro. Doesn't feel great.
The other part of me is more forgiving and thinks it's just a medication so its alright.

WoolerOwl · 15/10/2025 20:50

I've just had my watch strap altered and some links taken out. I can't regain now!

Mounjaroday · 15/10/2025 21:19

@Rightstrideoflife totally give yourself some slack. 100% I’ll go back if needed.

I don’t think I believe in willpower very much anymore. I look at my family - all lifetime slim people - and know they’ll ever understand how I became obese. I believe more in compulsive feelings and urges. I honestly think I have, for whatever reason, much stronger urges to drink and eat in comparison to them.

OP posts:
Zibb · 15/10/2025 21:20

@Rightstrideoflife It's just a tool. Would you be upset if you had to go back on any other medication that made such a difference to your health? It doesn't make you weak or anything. People who don't need to stay on it, or even be on it in the first place, aren't better or stronger etc.

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck You've got this! Peri just throws so many curveballs and stalls happen to everyone. It'll break when you're least expecting it!

@MrsHero I'm in a similar sitch. Motivation waning. Can't see the changes in the mirror (c'mon brain, fix up and get used to the new appearance). Have more hair on my legs than on my head. My legs actually are still massive. Also, how do people shave their hollow armpits?! I have to say, 1lb is a great rate, not slow at all, especially when you are already so light!

Congrats and well done, everyone, on your losses and maintains!

The past few days I have been a bottomless pit. It's impossible for me to feel full. I've also had some baaaad cravings. Doing my best to keep it under control but back up to 71.7kg this morning after making it down to 69.4kg. It makes me really sad when Nutracheck takes away my awards!

Mounjaroday · 15/10/2025 21:46

@Zibb I’m similar - bouncing around the 70- something-kg mark (70.5kg this morning) after 69.5kg last week. Motivation super tough.

DH complained I don’t have an arse anymore. He’s not wrong but it’s made me a little conscious.

OP posts:
Zibb · 15/10/2025 22:06

@Mounjaroday oyy, tell your DH to shush his mush! You can grow your glutes again at some point if you wish. Plus it's probably in proportion with your new body - we've all seen how FAB you look with your teeny waist!

& fwiw, I also have no bum, I'm like an ironing board on the back 😂I won't let myself get upset about it though, my body has been through so much change in the last 8 months and I'm not done yet!

I'm thinking of doing the strong curves program... if I can find the motivation (impossble right now).

PurpleCoo · 15/10/2025 22:14

I've also spent the last week or so bouncing around between 69.x and 70.x. interesting that most of us seem to be bouncing around the same weight, when we all started at the same time, yet we are all different heights.

I am also having to relearn how to shave my armpits, because... Surprise surprise when you are around a normal weight, it is an actual pit, and how do you get your razor in there? All these new found problems we never knew existed!

I'm not losing motivation, but I do just feel I am bobbing along slow but steady, without much effort, the diet changes are just normal now, but I am eating slightly more. I don't think my current dose is particularly working. I am noticing symptoms reappearing like my knee aching, facial flushing and feeling too warm (when I'm not cold 🤦‍♀️🤣), which stopped when I started taking MJ. Regarding appetite, I feel how I would want to feel in maintenance, but not for weight loss. I don't particularly want to go up a dose, but it seems like I need to to shift this last half stone or so. Hopefully doing a pens worth at 7.5mg will get things moving again. I am also realistic and not judging myself harshly to think that things may well be very slow this close to goal. Well, I have achieved my original goal of 70kg, I am just moving the goalposts now I am here and realising I'm by no means done.

Mounjaroday · 15/10/2025 22:35

@PurpleCoo a few of us do seem to be bouncing don’t we!

Thanks @Zibb defo need to work on those glutes. My bum actually aches now if I sit for too long!

OP posts:
MrsHero · 15/10/2025 23:22

Funny about the "70kg zone", it feels better knowing others are experiencing similar.

I'm on dose 2 of 10mg after being on 8.75 for a while, and it doesn't seem to have boosted loss in the same way that moving between previous dosages did either. Just moved onto the progesterone phase of my hrt so will be interesting to see if that has an effect on the scales.

CoolLimeSheep · 16/10/2025 02:14

Well everyone lots of acheivements and going back on mj or pondering im still same but now on wegovy did ask them to up it which they have to full 2.4mg which now im thinking should I have! im losing and gaining which is annoying but like you all still not far away from healthy bmi maybe 3lb but think should I go abit lower. Haven't jab this week my 14 year old had been asking me take her an all you can eat for months and ive just avoided but its not fair on her so im going go tommorow! Can't say on spacing jabs as I have done it a few times but not for long so no idea wether it works as I always get scared and stay on it. Do need to come off soon tho as im so close but something keeps stopping me. The mind is crazy i suppose 🤣 keep on going my friends 🧡

Mariocatgran · 16/10/2025 09:18

I had a Bueno and a mars var last night and feel so guilty today

WoolerOwl · 16/10/2025 12:11

I got my cholesterol results back, and they are vastly improved. Total cholesterol and the LDL (Bad) cholesterol are just a smidgeon above the healthy range, and the HDL (good) and the HDL ratio are right in the middle of the healthy range. I am so pleased that there are such tangible signs of improving health with the weight loss. I intend to continue with the running and add some green tea and flax seed into my diet to see if I can get all the measures into a healthy range.

Wearing slim black M&S 12L trousers today (thanks, Vinted!) and a black merino wool crew neck, and feeling very skinny. As my PT said yesterday, we do all this stuff 90% for the health benefits, but sometimes it's just great to catch a glimpse of ourselves in the mirror and enjoy the aesthetics!

viktoria · 16/10/2025 13:50

Well done, fellow losers! Hahaha!
I haven't been on the thread for a while but decided to catch up as I was at a bit of a loss what to do next and also because I seem to be hovering around the 70/71kg mark (with one short visit at 69.6kg)... so it's interesting to read that it's very common.

Also, reading everybody's posts has really motivated me, so thanks to you all.

I'm currently on 4th dose on 10mg, have another 10mg pen in the fridge and am jabbing every 8-10 days.
As said above, I'm not really losing more (but have also not eaten as well as I used to in the beginning), but have now decided to order a 7.5mg pen next,
I'm actually happy with the weight I am currently - even though I'm just at the lowest end of the overweight BMI. I feel I need to get away from my "obsession" of going below 70kg and also take BMI numbers with a pinch of salt.

I really appreciate everybody who posts here. It's good to read everybody's thoughts and experiences.
Well done all of us!
