Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

@CoolLimeSheep Well done you look great! Can really see the difference in your face and tummy. Agree photos are such a good way to compare.

Hi all it’s been a long time from I’ve been on here! I’ve been (unintentionally) maintaining my weight since July. I’m bouncing up and down between 10st13 and 11st2. Suppose it’s good that I’m not gaining weight but can’t seem to get any lower either. My BMI is 26 so still have more to lose. Currently on 15mg and have been for several months. I will admit my diet could be better and I don’t do any exercise so sorting that may kickstart things again!
Trying to be positive as I lost weight very quickly in the beginning and am 5 &1/2 stone down, so maintaining around this weight for a while might be good for my now very crepey/ loose skin.
Annoyingly my fingers seem to have shrunk again since July (but the rest of me hasn’t) my rings keep falling off and I had them resized back in June! So random.

CoolLimeSheep · 08/11/2025 17:41

@Mounjaronewbie25 thank you it is frustrating isn't it and 5 and half stone down is amazing so well done maintaining is also amazing all though can understand feeling disappointed. It's such alot of highs and lows at times isn't it and never straight forward. Can try adding some excercise like you said even some YouTube videos to do at home. Might just shock your body ive been told off gym instructor the belly's the last thing to go. My belly's creppy and loose skin but has gone down abit since I thought it was all excess skin 🤣. Keep going your awesome 😊

Ohdearanotherone · 08/11/2025 17:47

Hi just looking for some advice really. I started MJ in June and am 2 stone down, some days a bit over 2 stone, I have one more injection of the 10. I really can’t afford £300 for the 12.5 which I should be ordering now. I’m really anxious about keeping the weight off without it though, I probably have another stone to lose. Has anyone else stopped or thought about stopping at 10? What are the chances of me keeping it off without the injections now? Impossible question for anyone to answer I know. Any thoughts anyone? X

sweetpickle2 · 08/11/2025 18:10

Hi @Ohdearanotherone you might get more responses if you start your own thread- this one is for people who started MJ in Feb.

But to answer your question, it’s impossible to say really- everyone responds to the medication differently. Certainly you would need to be more mindful if you’re not on the medication- without continuing to eat less calories you will regain the weight. I feel for you though, a lot of people will be facing this issue! Good luck.

CoolLimeSheep · 08/11/2025 22:04

@Ohdearanotherone im into this journey 15 months now so impossible to say if regain weight i do hope how long ive been on it can keep off now as ive made changes but am still scared! with price change I swapped to wegovy been on that nearly 6 weeks now so cheaper but have 3 jabs left and wont be ordering another hope that helps sorry I cant be anymore help

nellietheellie75 · 09/11/2025 03:37

After 3st 5 down and on 7.5mg I've changed to Wagovy 1mg due to cost. Praying that this works!

PurpleCoo · 09/11/2025 08:07

@CoolLimeSheep Unfortunately I hadn't recorded measurements since late August, so although there is a change, it doesn't really reflect the last 5 weeks since I have been in a plateau. However, I have been checking my waist and it's still stubbornly sticking at 29". With body pump, I go to different instructors on different days, and they do mix it up. Plus I try to increase the weights as well, although that's less frequent of course. I do athletic pilates and the more advanced reformer and that's always different too. I think there is some element of my skin being too loose for my frame in some areas, but it's not excessive, and there is definitely fat still there. Mind you, all this time with no weight change, you would think my skin would start shrinking.

@laundryhamper I only went up to 7.5mg recently, so it's too soon to go up again. I haven't been stretching my doses out either. Previously when I have gone up, it's kicked things into action again straight away and I stayed at the new dose for 8-10 weeks. I have always gone up in halfway increments as well, so was on 6.25 for about 10 weeks.

@usedtobeaylis sorry to hear you are stuck too. It's is so frustrating and it does make you think if I am struggling this much on WLI, what on earth would it be like without? If I was constantly eating, or was battling food noise it would make sense, but I am doing the right things, and I'm persevering despite not making gains. At least I can give myself credit there, as although nothing is happening, my mindset is, something has to happen eventually, and I'm just plodding along, not going stuff it and stuffing myself

laundryhamper · 09/11/2025 09:29

@PurpleCoo
Everyone’s different and I can only speak for myself but my prescriber’s schedule gave me only one month each on 2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg, then the next five on 10mg.

So I am not sure if there’s such thing as “too soon” to go up again unless you are struggling with side effects badly and are advised not to.
Having said that, my side effects peaked at 7.5mg but got better at 10mg. I don’t know whether that was time or dose related though.

Ive lost on wegovy only been on 2 months so fingers crossed for you did feel a little hungrier at first but its leveled out now

CoolLimeSheep · 09/11/2025 09:54

@PurpleCoo defo can feel your frustration. Your defo doing everything right so hopefully it will just kick-start again soon. Ive had a pound gain this morning but monthlys just come so more than likely that. Have had consistently 3 months of regular periods dare I say that ! watch next month it will go irregular again 🤣
Don't know wether ive said before on here I am going private for fertility testing this month going book in after my period so see what outcome of that is although coz of my age if say ivf doubt that ill ever afford but will just have wait and see

usedtobeaylis · 09/11/2025 12:24

W38 Day 1 (week 6 on 8.3mg)
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 3lb
Loss this week: 0
Total loss: 4st 2lb

So nothing off this week. Plateaus are a right pain but still... I can't believe I've lost over 4 stone. At this time of year I normally start thinking about the new year and how after Christmas I'm going to finally be successful in taking control of everything in my life, and maybe try to lose a few lbs for my Christmas nights out. I'm in such a vastly different place right now than I was this time last year as I don't feel like I've got that pressure at all. Stopping the injections is still slightly in the future as if I stay on the current dose I have enough to take me up until the end of March, but the plan is to start tapering down before then, so I might squeeze a few extra weeks out. After Christmas is when I plan to make a plan for going forward without Mounjaro. I don't know if it's even possible. I don't know whether to taper down the dose, go longer between injections, or a combo of both. I feel like the food noise will come rushing back and the question is, when I inevitably eat more will it be more of the right things or will I revert to the kind of high calorie, high sugar things that impact my health so badly? It could be the Mounjaro speaking but I can't imagine everything eating a chippie again.

But that's in the future. For now, despite the plateau, I'm still working hard, still doing the right things without being perfect or feeling like I need to be perfect, still in the eternal battle of trying to remember to drink more water, and still in a better place. With crazy sticking up hair.

Congrats on the shrinking fingers!! Are they catching up with the rest of you, or perhaps this is the start of a reduction all over?

btw noted comment re ring re sizing. How much did they take off & was it expensive? I need to consider having mine resized too. There is risk they will fly off!!

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 09/11/2025 18:35

I didn't particularly want to lose weight on MJ but I have. I did have a BMI of 27 and I've now got to a BMI of 20 and really don't want to go any lower. Has anyone managed to maintain successfully?

Mounjaronewbie25 · 10/11/2025 02:30

@mummymissessunshine I went from a T to a P it was about £150 I think for a platinum band.
Yes mine have flown off outdoors several times lol, crawling around the ground in a car park to find them was not a good moment for me 😅

I think it’s mostly reduction in inflammation in my hands rather than just fat loss. Mounjaro is a funny thing.

I’ve always carried weight around my middle and had fairly slim legs. Thighs and bum have got thinner when they really didn’t need to, and yet the boobs and belly remain (although somewhat smaller than they were).

Mounjaroday · 10/11/2025 04:25

Hi losers! Sorry been a bit quiet over last week. So many incredible updates from everyone - I am in awe.

Am going to a black tie event this weekend, and have splashed out on a proper dress.
https://www.reiss.com/style/su792034/h71045
The dress is exciting but the progress is better: a year ago, I wouldn’t have even contemplated going to a posh do.

Won’t lie, shopping in places like Reiss is so fun! Gone are the days of feeling shit and upset on the high street. Good bloody riddance to that. But my god, clothes are so very expensive. Beautiful skirt in Jigsaw - £400!! Little dress LK Bennett - over £300!!

Wish I had a spare two grand to fritter but, alas, I am a mere mortal. The little Reiss number will be popped straight on Vinted next week.

@laundryhamper no side effects, but I have only had 3 doses of 7.5mg, and you are supposed to stay on the same dose for a month

I started getting really sore boobs yesterday, which is usually a premenstrual symptom. This would also explain the carb cravings I had over a day or so, which has happened still on this whole journey. Not due on for another 9-11 days so my periods are all over the place these past few months which would perhaps be contributing to plateau. So annoying, my periods have always been like clockwork! The joys of approaching 50 I guess

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 10/11/2025 07:36

@CoolLimeSheep wow, you look incredible, such amazing progress, well done.

@Mounjaroday i have an event comong up and i ordered a couple of different options to try, actual fitted things, no more shapeless bin bags for me 🥳 But yes, how to fund such loveliness is another battle altogether. I have however found a stunning lipsy dress on vinted that makes me very happy to wear.

I haven't lost anything for a couple of weeks, again. And i have to say, i am bored of the weekly jab, i used to look forward to it but after what feels like the eleventy millionth one this morning, i am over it. I know i can't just stop but it's just a bit tedious now. Maybe if i actualluly lose some more weight i will feel different.

Antway, happy Monday, hope it is a good one 😁

This morning I just squeaked into the healthy weight side!

Mounjaro Feb 2025 starters (thread 8!)
sweetpickle2 · 10/11/2025 09:50

Well done @Zibb! You have worked so hard, you deserve it. Well done to everyone else as well for the scale and non-scale victories!

I have my 40th birthday party this weekend, I haven't really been as locked in as I'd hoped- going longer between jabs is noticeable in terms of the hunger creeping back in. I intentionally haven't weighed this morning as I know it won't be where I want it to be and it'll just make me feel self conscious- I've tried on my outfit and that looks good so I'm just focusing on that. I have jabbed this morning, so that's back to a week between jabs, and gone up slightly in dose in the hope I'm at least a little less bloated come the weekend.

Bigger picture- I'll be wearing a size 12 dress which isn't something I thought would happen at the start of this year, I'll be going into my 40s the hottest and healthiest I've been for years!

Have fab weeks all!

WoolerOwl · 10/11/2025 10:06

Lovely dress, @Mounjaroday . We will need pictures!

NSV today. Another pair of winter boots is too big.

usedtobeaylis · 10/11/2025 11:59

Finally something of a size change! I had to buy new running clothes as my leggings were falling down whenever I ran, but I wanted to get some of the same ones I had as I like them (they're high waisted). This particular pair was bought in 2018 and when I started Mounjaro were a bit on the 'squeezed-in' side 😆

Anyway I found some in medium on Vinted, held them up to myself last night and thought they might be a touch too small. But they fit 😎

Off for a run in my mediums 🏃

CoolLimeSheep · 10/11/2025 12:06

@Mounjaroday lovely dress! 😍
@ThatJoyousHazelDuck looking fab 😍
@Zibb WOOHOO healthy bmi congrats defo put in the hard work
@sweetpickle2 thats amazing too being hottest and healthiest.
Ill be joining you in the 40s next may 🥳.
Hope you have an amazing party
@usedtobeaylis check you in your mediums bet it feels good enjoy your run 🏃‍♀️

CoolLimeSheep · 10/11/2025 14:48

Got a phone call with juniper tommorow do discuss wether to just stop or a maintenance plan so see what they say tommorow I could really do with just stopping and no more pens but I suppose im best getting there advice so I can make a decision.
@Zibb did you just stop the injection?

Zibb · 10/11/2025 15:44

@CoolLimeSheep yep. I think tapering might have been a better choice as then stopping might not have felt like such a brutal slap in the face. I couldn't afford it so if you can I'd recommend trying it.

I do see lots of other people saying they also quit cold turkey and had no problems though!
