Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck Wow, you look like a different person, what an amazing change. Very well done you.

@Zibb That's really impressive to have still lost weight after being off MJ. It sounds like it's been tough with the hunger and aches and pains returning. Hopefully the hunger is a rebound thing and stabilises, but sounds as though you are managing it well.

I hopped on the Boditrax machine and my stick to the healthy eating plan, weighing food, but eat a bit more seems to be helping with the body recomp. I have lost 1.2kg of fat, and gained 0.5kg of muscle. This fits with what I am seeing in the mirror and feeling in my body. Bits of me are really solid now. Other bits are still flabby... Not there yet!

sweetpickle2 · 03/11/2025 15:42

Had a bit of a rubbish couple of weeks- left it 2 weeks between jabs and have put on 2kg! I am on my period, but still. Its quite scary how quickly the food noise comes back.

A week from today will be 12 weeks since my last order, and I will have to start again on 2.5 if I want to reorder. Trying to decide if I should stock up on some more or just accept that I need to go it alone.

OMG. @sweetpickle2.
You are not alone
I also left it 2 weeks and have put on 2.5kgs.

shocker.
am now on a mission to get back on track.

I also need how to work out my plan for maintenance. As this putting on 2.5kgs is making me nervous!

mummymissessunshine · 03/11/2025 23:36

Btw can anyone recommend an easy to use app for tracking food / exercise?
for someone who makes meals from scratch but also uses packets occasionally ?

I am in the Uk.

PurpleCoo · 04/11/2025 06:08

@mummymissessunshine

I use nutracheck. You can scan packets from supermarkets, plus add your own recipes.

I really need to start tracking again. I haven't slacked off with my meal plan, and weigh everything/portion control, but should track really so I am monitoring my macros as well

WoolerOwl · 04/11/2025 07:57

Morning all! Sorry for the radio silence. I’ve just finished a week of moving house.

Arms strong from ripping open boxes and carrying stuff from one room to another. But lots of stress as builders still finishing off work on the house. No curtains, and a scaffolder appearing at my bedroom window early every morning could have meant a nasty shock. For both of us.

Wow, so many great losses. Well done @SpiralSister on getting to goal.

I’m not far behind you. 1.7kg to go. A third of my body weight lost.

skyscrapersinging · 04/11/2025 13:04

Morning losers!
SW 89.2kg
CW 65.5 (BMI 20.9)

Still losing weight, but only marginally. Am actually wanting to just STS and maintain. Took 6.25 from a 7.5 pen last week, and even that made me lose a bit, so I either need to reduce dose still further or increase gap between doses. Ideas welcomed. (I did let my supplier know and got a terse response back about “not microdosing”, but as I’m STILL waiting on a maintenance call (6 weeks after booking it), I’m a bit at a loss as to what to do in the short term. Can’t lose much more or they’ll kick me off, surely?!

In other news, I had a tiny bit of a head cold for about 3 days and realised with a shock that I’ve not been unwell all year. Is this a result of eating better? Being generally fitter and healthier? Whatever it is, I cannot remember a year where I’ve not been ill with head colds at least a few times in the year. And usually when I do go down with something, it invariably ends up dragging on for weeks with sinus infection or chest infection or asthma etc etc. It’s miraculous. Not sure if it’s MJ or the Biomel I now take daily for my gut health. Bit of both? Anyone else found the same?

happy week to all… keep being the fabulous losers that you all are.. xxx

CoolLimeSheep · 06/11/2025 08:02

@skyscrapersinging ive had the opposite been ill a few times now but think its generally because I didn't go out when I was very big so am exposed to all the bugs now lol and work in leisure centre so lots of people.

Other news which I cant bloody believe
Ive just hit goal weight with a tiny bit over and still 3 weeks of jab left i really do hope i can maintain when jab stops!
Legs bums and tums tonight and aquafit so going be in world of pain tomoz bodys aching from just smashing steps this week already done 50000 in 2 days without even meaning too 🤣

Oh my word @CoolLimeSheep! GOAL! Congratulations!

You have really inspired me btw - you are such a lovely contributor to this thread, and I’m thrilled for you 💐

CoolLimeSheep · 06/11/2025 09:56

@SpiralSister thank you so much.
Your awesome yourself and should be truly proud and everyone is just so bloody amazing 😍
I will say this journey has it ups and downs but with all the support here truly is incredible. 🫶

WoolerOwl · 06/11/2025 12:00

Absolutely awesome @CoolLimeSheep ! Well done. And it sounds like you’ve made so many changes re what you eat and doing exercise that you’ll be in so much better a place to keep on track without the MJ. I’m planning to be off it in 7 weeks’ time so will hope to join you keeping on track.

Awesome Woolerowl and thanks look forward to you joining the maintenance soon 🥰😊

usedtobeaylis · 06/11/2025 19:30

Does anyone have any tips for smoothing down the crazy hair regrowth, it's at that stage where it is just sticking straight up 😩

WoolerOwl · 06/11/2025 20:09

Mine is doing the same, @usedtobeaylis , around the edge of my forehead!

SpiralSister · 07/11/2025 10:30

Hi warriors! So first week of maintenance and have stayed the same (which I guess is the aim 😂)

I have ordered my next pen, going down to 5mg. This is what my provider sent me. I thought some of you might find it useful/interesting if ypu are maintaining or going to be. I am really happy with it!

Maintenance treatment is backed up by 2 pivotal trials SURMOUNT 4 and SURPASS 4. This shows that there is no loss of effect of this treatment continued long term. Patients who do stop regain the weight that they lost while on the drug.
We are keen to support you going forward. However, what we cannot do is let your weight drop so low that this becomes unhealthy. Whilst this is somewhat unlikely as the weight loss does tend to plateau or taper after some time. We may need to ask for more body images or telephone consultations with you if the weight loss continues past a BMI of 20.
Options
Stay on the dose that you are on - SURPASS 4 showed that this was an effective option for maintaining weight loss for participants. All the evidence is based on people using 5,10 or 15mg doses.
However, if you are currently on a different dose there is no need to change.
Reduce the dose - there is no published data to support this option. Eli Lilly is looking into this but the results will not be published for at least 2 years. Some people may wish to dial the dose back to help cement changes in eating habits or even for cost reasons. It may also be that you found a better eating balance on a lower dose.
If you want to do this we can support you but we will be guided by you.
Stop the treatment completely - this approach is not likely to be successful for your long-term results as SURMOUNT 4 shows that you will likely regain the weight that you have lost. However, if you want to use these treatments to kick-start a diet and lifestyle change we respect your decision.
There is no recognised way to stop this treatment you can do so from the dose that you are on or reduce by each dose titration monthly back to 0.
If you wish to re-commence treatment at a later date we are happy to restart treatment - though for breaks of greater than 6 weeks, we will need to commence you at the starting dose once again.

Have a great weekend all 💐

laundryhamper · 07/11/2025 13:11

TW reached this morning. 26kg lost.

Now what?!

SpiralSister · 07/11/2025 13:48

Amazing, @laundryhamper! Congratulations! 🥳

How do you feel?

laundryhamper · 07/11/2025 14:54

@SpiralSister Pleased - a little shocked in a way - 26kg is a huge amount, I just can’t get my head around where it was and how I managed to carry it around every day.
But as you know, once you get to the target you have worked towards for ten months, then what? So little is known about how best to maintain TW, as the info you posted says.

Zibb · 07/11/2025 18:58

@CoolLimeSheep congratulations and well done!! Amazing 😍 You are incredible!

@laundryhamper and congratulations to you too! How awesome 🥳

Thanks for this @SpiralSister

may I ask which provider you are with for maintenance please? They sound interesting and supportive.

PurpleCoo · 08/11/2025 07:13

Congratulations and well done @CoolLimeSheep and @laundryhamper

So lovely to hear so many are getting to goal.

Sadly things aren't going so well here. I increased my dose and took my third 7.5mg dose yesterday. I know I said I was content to be only losing 200g or so a week previously, but I have gained this week, around 500g, so now I have gone back to where I was a month ago, so essentially stayed the same for a month. Although there has been a little gain in muscle/loss of fat over this time according to Boditrax. Even tiny losses feel like you are moving in the right direction, but a gain feels like things failure and so disheartening.

I'm so confused as to why increasing the dose hasn't worked. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suddenly eating rubbish, or significantly more. I am eating less meat (because I don't fancy it), but have increased pulses, and eating lots of those at present, so protein levels are still high.

My exercise regime hasn't reduced. I am doing 2x body pump, 1x mat pilates, 1x reformer pilates, 2x hour swim per week, plus 90 minutes a day of brisk walking. Surely that's enough exercise? I don't really have time to do more!!

My BMI is around 26 and there is definite fat on my belly, inner thighs and upper arms, so I am not 'there' yet. I'm still really pleased with how much I have lost since starting, but frustrated it's not working now, when I know I've not fallen off the eating wagon and I'm doing so much exercise.

CoolLimeSheep · 08/11/2025 07:39

Thanks @Zibb and @PurpleCoo
@laundryhamper congrats and well done!

@PurpleCoo I had a few weeks where id gain couple pounds then lose it again was frustrating for abit! Could your body be recompositioning have you tried measuring round waist, thighs and upper arms.
Myself have abit of tummy but defo think mines excess skin its all crinkly 🤣.
Thats an awesome exercise regime.
Quick question is your body pump classes the same regime each week or does she switch it up? I choose different classes sometimes trick my body so its working something new. Not sure if it defo work but worth a try! Im going boxercise monday, legs bums and tums and aquafit this week maybe dance fit on friday if I can get on.
Lucky for me legs bums and tums and aquafit are on same day and right after each other.
Although I can hardly walk today after Thursdays classes 🤣
No pain no gain 💪 💯
Hope this helps and makes you feel a little better 😊

SpiralSister · 08/11/2025 09:33

It’s the Independent Pharmacy, @mummymissessunshine. I’ve stuck with them from the start because I can’t be doing with switching around. That’s v foolish of me, I know, but life is v full and quite tough so I streamline where I can!

I have been so pleased with them. No dicking around, answer questions promptly and do it by the book. Speedy delivery that has never gone wrong. Not the cheapest. But not the most expensive either. Worth a try!

laundryhamper · 08/11/2025 10:55

@PurpleCoo I have plateaued several times in last ten months but each time things then started to move again. Ended up on 10mg which was very effective and no extra side effects. Key for me was not being tempted to stretch time between doses. Even a day or two late and my food noise roars back boom.

usedtobeaylis · 08/11/2025 12:16

@PurpleCoo the plateaus are so discouraging and give the impression of not making progress despite doing everything right and I so wish society would realise that this is what people mean when they say 'I just can't seem to lose weight'. I'm showing 1lb ON again this week. I feel like I need to bump up to 10mg but I really don't want to as the pens I have are it, no more, so I want to get as long as I can out of them. I just tell myself at least nobody can say I've had any 'extreme' weight loss or that I've lost it too quickly!
