Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

@WoolerOwl Thanks, glad to know it's not just me with the hormonal 'fat' feelings. I have always had it and knew to never go clothes shopping when that was happening. Monthly has arrived and feeling slim again, but knowing the wobbly bits don't look great, so it feels real

@narkyspirit Sorry, I probably didn't phrase my post very well. I meant my loss for this week was 0.35, my bag weekly loss is indeed about 0.7. You are doing really well too, and probably have less loose skin for going slower.

@MynameisJune They always say the last few pounds are the hardest, you have done fantastically and you are so close!

Weird NSV - so apparently I have pretty decent neck/top of shoulder muscles and I noticed they were looking quite defined in the mirror at pump yesterday. Nearly dropped my barbell I was so surprised it's like it's come from nowhere. I won't have built muscle, but pump is obviously making sure I retain it. When I saw my partner, I said, look at my body, what do you notice, and he saw it too straight away! He and I are guessing it from all the swimming I have done for donkeys years, but we didn't know it was there under all the padding

WoolerOwl · 26/10/2025 07:34

I am stuck at 67.2 kg for days now! Grrrr.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 26/10/2025 07:51

Good morning warriors,

I've been AWOL for a few weeks as I've nothing really to report 🤣

Still plodding on and pissing about with the same couple of pounds but 100% noticing my body changing so not too disheartened.

Total loss as of today is 4st 10lb I'd like to be able to get to 5st by the time I go away at the beginning of December.

Last week I completed c25k which I was extremely proud of and next week will be my 6th session with my PT. I'd originally booked in for 10 sessions but I'm going to book in another 10. I'm surprisingly enjoying the sessions even though he absolutely kills me. I can really feel and see the difference strength training achieves. Without him I wouldn't be pushing myself like he does and lifting what I am. He really helps my confidence too, telling me I need to have more belief in myself and ability.

I'd say also in the last few weeks loads more people have noticed my weight loss. I still feel bad not telling the whole truth about how I'm losing the weight but I just stick to calorie counting and they all know I'm going to the gym and stuff.

The other thing I'm noticing is I'm much more self conscious of what I'm wearing 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ in my head I'm like strangers don't know I've lost all this weight so they will just think you're fat! Honestly my brain is my worst enemy 🤦‍♀️

Have a great weekend everyone ❤️

WoolerOwl · 26/10/2025 08:29

Well done @Marypoppinsisnosaint on the C25k and PT sessions. Such an achievement and great to feel stronger and fitter.

MrsHero · 26/10/2025 09:59

Just converted my loss to kg - 16.3kg. My (dinky) 2 year old weighs 10.8kg!! Talk about losing the baby weight...

sc0ttishlass · 27/10/2025 08:48

Well done everyone..so much positivity on here!

I've actually no idea what im doing next! Im currently BMI 24 (which i cant ever remember as an adult and im 48). If I could lose 1.5lb it woukd take me to 9 and a half stone and a BMI of just under 24 which I think id be happy to stop at. I went to Spain for a week last week and put on 1lb which im ok with. It will come off. I ate more than usual nut not anyhing horrific! Im kind of feeling id like to still be on over xmas season as that was an extreme binge / eat all I want all the time season. Was not uncommon to buy mince pies and eat 6 in a day. I didn't even contemplate just one :(

But..i still don't think I've got the willpower to do this alone. I have 1 more pen so can maybe get to nearly xmas with pacing doses. Let's see!

Ps nsv is how much i cross my legs now and if feels comfy!

eleanorwish · 27/10/2025 08:59

I’m now officially overweight!
SW 15st 3
CW 12 st 1

One NSV I’ve noticed - I don’t need to sit down to put my socks on.

usedtobeaylis · 27/10/2025 09:20

Yesterday's weigh-in

W36
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 5lb
1lb on this week
Total loss: 4st

Normal service has been resumed with the weight going on 😂

Not sure what's going on but I haven't taken my jag yet. I just didn't feel like it yesterday and thought I would take it this morning and maybe just change my day but I still don't feel like it. I'm not sure if there's something going on subconsciously but I just feel a very strong need not to take it right now. Not that I don't need it - I definitely do. Strange.

MJSpideySenses · 27/10/2025 09:28

@CoolLimeSheep I love the different events that Trentham do. Have a great day. I'm not too far away and its quite blustery so wrap up warm!

Amazing @eleanorwish congratulations 🎉

Half term and a much needed week off here. I have finally started listing things on Vinted. I have so much to get rid of.

I need to shop for new work clothes but I'm not feeling it, I still have another two and a half stone to lose.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 27/10/2025 13:24

Has anyone ever forgotten to jab? I normally do it on a Monday morning but I have just realised I haven't yet. Will wait until tomorrow morning now in case it disrupts my sleep or anything tonight.
I'll also weigh in tomorrow.

I ran a half marathon yesterday, it was the fourth one I've done and the first at an almost 'healthy' weight. It was the slowest I've ever done it and i think it's down to the total inability to fuel enough in the days before. Interesting that my weight really has nothing to do with how fast I can run though!

sc0ttishlass · 27/10/2025 13:40

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck well done on the running. Interestingly I did a half a couple of weels ago and my performance was atrocious compared ro previously. I didn't think I was going to make it. Likewise interesting that doesn't matter the size its the fueling thats important!

mummymissessunshine · 28/10/2025 01:19

Ooh. Just thought of another NSV. But it’s a weird one
I just love stroking where my hip is. Having lost more than 25% of my body weights and got down to a size 8-10. For the first time since being an adult. Well. There is a section just above my hip and to the left / right of my belly button which is sort of flat. And smooth.

feels lovely. Never felt it before!!!!

anyone else have something like that?

WoolerOwl · 28/10/2025 06:44

I am definitely feeling the loss of suppression on 5mg. Will stay here until goal, which is another 2kg or so. We started the house move yesterday so I have woken up in the new house with nothing but the emergency rations that I picked up from the supermarket yesterday, trying not to be tempted by the thought of peanut butter on toast. I really need to keep what I’ve learned about healthy eating and portions firmly in my head as I make the adjustment towards maintenance.

Unpacking awaits!

SpiralSister · 28/10/2025 07:18

I certainly can feel my bones sticking out, @mummymissessunshine - particularly my rib cage and hips!

I was having a wondering on this subject, warriors - now lots of us have lost really significant amounts of weight, what are the best things about being your new size and shape?

Mine are:
Better energy
Clothes! Everything looks better on me, and I’ve got so much choice. I have spent a fortune 😂
I have become the sort of person who goes to the gym!
Knowing that if I keep this weight off, and keep exercising, I have a much better chance of a healthy old age

What’s yours?

Good luck and blessings on your new house, btw, @WoolerOwl 💐

WoolerOwl · 28/10/2025 07:38

Just one slice of toast. Trying to be restrained!

Benefits for me:

Clothes! Loving them again and experimenting with styles and shapes, not just what looks least bad.

Being “a runner”!

No migraine, no swollen feet and ankles, no wind, less joint ache, no liver pain.

Almost normal cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar.

There are more, but those will do for now.

Such a good idea, @SpiralSister to think of these now to keep the motivation going. Thank you.

laundryhamper · 29/10/2025 18:38

@MJSpideySenses
don't be tempted to buy anything new yet!
I made that mistake and I now have a bunch of 14/16 work stuff that’s too large - nice stuff and not cheap. Kicking myself. I just bought a size 10 coat though…

usedtobeaylis · 29/10/2025 18:46

I am so off the wagon 😆I'm only surprised it took this long, 8 months in before a major derailment. I think it's ok as long as I get back on in short time.

MJSpideySenses · 29/10/2025 21:15

@laundryhamper I know, I really don't want to but I'm now a 12/14 down from an 18 so I don't really have anything to wear at the moment. My clothes are hanging off me. I won't go mad though, just a few outfits to get me through this stage.

Well done for getting down to a 10 😊

laundryhamper · 29/10/2025 23:23

@MJSpideySenses to be fair it’s a very generous 10. One of those labels where they have 2XXS, XXS, XS and then S (size 10) and nothing after that…

Notmyrealname22 · 29/10/2025 23:41

Popping in to say hi! I was a February 2025 starter.
I'm very pleased to say that I am 15kg down in 8 months. I'm a shorty, so that's a lot on me! I can't believe how much smaller my thighs are (and my tummy and butt).

I'm so, so close to being under the 60kg mark. Not sure what I need to do to break through that barrier, but I really want to in the next week or two, I've been hovering around 61 and 60.5kg for a few weeks now.
I've joined a gym and been going 4 times a week as well as walking my dog 40 to 60 minutes a day. I feel fabulous. I've just had 3 months off work and am about to start a new job, so I'm not sure how I will fit everything in, but I really need to keep prioritising me and my health.
I started largely because I turned 49 in January, and knew I had a limited amount of time to work with if I wanted to be 50 & fabulous! I'm very glad that I started when I did.

Keep up the great work everyone!

laundryhamper · 29/10/2025 23:46

My positives are

  • spend less on food
  • more clothes options
  • can bear to look at myself in the mirror
  • serious health condition much improved
usedtobeaylis · 30/10/2025 08:45

Some NSVs (despite taking the jag much later and behaving quite appalling with food - staying positive):

  • I definitely need to size down in my swimming costume
  • My waist is very visibly so much smaller and I see this especially from the side
  • My shoelaces are longer - I know this sounds weird but with the combination of less swelling and less fat, my feet have lost about a half size and I have to pull all my shoelaces tighter. My Converse especially used to look like they had short laces as I couldn't pull the side together much but now they look completely normal and I marvel at it every time I have them on

My main negative just now is that the skin on my face is looking older and saggier. I'm not sure how to deal with this. It's not wrinkles per se, although the crows feet round my eyes are much much deeper now, but it just looks a bit old and parched.
