Mounjaroday · 12/10/2025 19:08

Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

A bit of a champagne problem, but is anyone else finding like they've lost their sense of style since losing weight?

Before when I was bigger I got my style of dressing down, I didn't necessarily like the size I was but I knew how to dress it! Now I'm thinner I don't want to be wearing so many of the 'flattering' and floaty type clothes, but then slimmer fitting stuff (which is what I actually want to wear) feels very exposed and uncomfortable.

Is anyone else having this issue?

MrsHero · 21/10/2025 17:08

@sweetpickle2 I totally get that! Also, a lot of stuff that is 'in' now like wide leg jeans hasn't been in since I was in my late teens, and that was the last time I was anywhere near the size I am now, so that feels strange.

NSV - purchased a pair of (wide leg!) jeans from Matalan earlier... size 10!! Shows how skewed my perception is, as went in with a pair of size 12's feeling cautiously optimistic that they might fit, and they were too big! Yet still in my head is a voice saying 'size 10 is much bigger these days', which is probably true, but so is size 14 so I've still shrunk!

PurpleCoo · 21/10/2025 20:58

@sweetpickle2 Can you restyle what you have? Or what sort of things you usually like? So, I am always a dress and funky coloured tights kind of girl for work, I'm just wearing belts, that stop the outfits looking like sacks, and emphasise my hour glass figure and ever shrinking waist.

I know what you mean about feeling a bit exposed though. I am wearing tight fitting clothes a lot more now (at the gym) and objectively, it does look more flattering. Still not recognising my own reflection at times when caught by surprise out and about 🤣 I also notice I don't mind looking at myself in the mirror at the gym (you have to check your posture and moves, so you don't injure yourself). I used to think people looking at themselves in mirrors at the gym were vain, I get why they do it now I do weights 🤦‍♀️🤣

@MrsHero I am also rationalising my weight loss with 'size 10s are big now', but absolutely spot on, it's still a great reduction if you have dropped 2-3 dress sizes. Not that I am always a 10, still a 12 half the time.

Mounjaroday · 21/10/2025 21:15

Hear you @MrsHero and @PurpleCoo

I’m struggling with understanding body shape. Love being leaner, no doubt, but don’t “believe“ I could possibly be a 12, let alone the size 10 I slipped into last week.

There’s one comment a family member made to me 20 years ago, in my slim days. “Mounjaroday you’re really quite wide aren’t you”. Annoying how that has stuck with me all these years. I look at myself in the mirror and my eyes go straight to my apparently enormously broad rib cage! (Might have mentioned this before, so apologies if repeating myself).

Still on 10mg but going backwards - can’t stay off the candy. Food noise back with a roar. 😥

Thank you for saying this. I really needed the perspective. Like others this has been going on in my head a lot!

2nd dose of 0.06ml. Can still feel Mounjaro building up in my system though it'll take 4 weeks as per normal. It's bizarre how sensitive I am to Mounjaro.

SansaClegane · 22/10/2025 08:46

Hi guys...!
Finally checking in again. Started a new job & have had almost no free time 🥲 anyway.

SW: 15st 0.4lbs
CW: 10st 6lbs
BMI: 22.9

I reached my target weight pretty much in early August. Gained some during my holiday (what can I say! I was in Italy) but thanks to the new job, lost that in record time due to stressConfused
Yet, I'm reluctant to let go of the mounjaro. I think I will keep going for the foreseeable. I'm just too worried that it will all come back on if I stop - especially as we're heading into Christmas season.
I've been buying 5mg pens but counting clicks to get either 2.5 or 3.75 doses, which seems to be working fine.
How are you all seeing your future? Will you keep going with MJ? I'm now always worried my order will be denied as I'm a healthy weight, so I've kept going with the same online pharmacy, but do you think I'd still be able to swap to get offers / better prices?

Hope you are all doing well and reaching your targets!

SpiralSister · 22/10/2025 10:24

Hello @SansaClegane! fantastic loss, well done!

I very near target now, and an healthy BMI (at last!) and plan to titrate down to 5mg, then 2.5mg, then maybe 1.25mg for…ever?

I’ve stuck to the same prescriber since the start, because I just can’t be doing with extra life admin and stress of swapping about and not knowing if a new provider is reliable. Advantage when it comes to maintenance I guess. I’m sure more savvy types will have advice though!

Mounjaroday · 22/10/2025 19:25

Hi @SansaClegane great to see you on here, hope new job is going well!

Weigh-in day for me, Week 1,000,000 and still trudging on!

SW: 103.9kg / BMI 35.9 / size 18-20
CW: 69.1kg / BMI 23.9 / size 10-12
TL: 34.8kg / 5.5 stone
(Height for context 5’7”)

Target is 6 stone total loss, so another 3.3kg to go 💤 I’m exhausted!

Well done losers!!

Wowsers, @Mounjaroday! bloody well done!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 23/10/2025 08:33

My office crush told me I looked incredible yesterday 🤯
Although, now I am crushing less because he clearly hasn't noticed me until now so he is shallow 😂
Yeah, I know, they can't win 😄
Just for context, I was wearing a dress that has been unworn in my wardrobe for yonks, and i did look incredible 🤗

usedtobeaylis · 23/10/2025 09:14

I've got a GP appointment shortly for something unrelated to MJ but will need to tangentially mention my weight loss. I'm unsure if they know I'm on Mounjaro. My question is, and I'm probably vastly overthinking their interest in this because it has got nothing to do with anything, if they ask what dose I'm on I will need to say I'm taking a lower dose from the pen than it is prescribed for. Had anyone experienced telling their doctor that and how did they respond?

Your GP will likely know as it will be on your notes.

When I was in hospital recently they asked what medication I was on, I said MJ 12.5mg (which is the pen I have even though its not the dose I'm on) and that was that.

I'd just tell them about the lower dose if you feel you want to, I can't imagine they will care.

Mounjaroday · 23/10/2025 23:41

Warriors, who even am I anymore. Popped to a friend’s house this evening, shared a bottle of wine. Came home. Little bit hungry. Lots of delicious kids’ snacks in the cupboard. Chocs. Crisps. Sweets.
So I reached for … a tin of anchovies.
Who is this person?

OP posts:
SpiralSister · 24/10/2025 08:34

😂 anchovy woman!

SpiralSister · 24/10/2025 08:44

Weigh in day for me:

SW: 15.5
CW: 10.7 (pound off this week)
TL: 4.12
GW: 10.5

I recalculated my BMI on my NHS weight loss tracker (used it to log from the beginning, low tech and free), and the bubble-pricking, mean spirited, arsehole of an app told me that whilst I am a healthy BMI, I am ‘at the higher end. Keep a watch on your weight’. I have taken umbrage!

I want to be at the higher end. I am late fifties and need to protect my bones and not look any thinner in the face! The app can go fuck itself 😂

How are we all getting on with the unsolicited comments, by the way? Yesterday I heard ‘what a shame, you were so bonny’ said very kindly, but still. I also had some lovely compliments, as a balance.

Have a great weekend, warriors! 💐

WoolerOwl · 24/10/2025 13:19

@SpiralSister I can well understand why you are cross with the BMI tracker. It seems to have no awareness that you are on your way DOWN, not up! And that you deserve praise, not waggly-finger warnings.

I have moved onto 5mg today. Pharmacist has confirmed I can go down to 2.5 if I want to next month, and stay there for a bit, but says I should stop eventually. Seemed impressed about the total lack of migraine for 8 months, so could understand why I might want to consider a low dose long term. We will see.

I did my last in person session with my PT today, before moving. We will have a remote session and a phone call each month from now on, as I try to make all this exercise part of my new routine. I am so proud of how much I can do now that I couldn't do 14 weeks ago. In particular, I have leg muscles!

Lots of unsolicited comments. Some I don't mind: "you look amazing" always goes down well. The ones that get me are "you look great having lost ALL THAT weight" which just makes me feel crap about how fat I used to be. To be fair, it is 33 kg and I was fat, but I don't need others to say if for me. Or the ones who comment on what I've got on my plate "Oh, no carbs?" (not actually true as I had lentils and potato in my veggie cottage pie, but true that I didn't add extra roast potatoes). I mean, just why? What's it got to do with anyone else?

laundryhamper · 24/10/2025 13:28

@WoolerOwl People really need to wind their necks in.
Acceptable things to say, IMHO:

  1. you look great! (And stop talking)
  2. have you lost weight? (And stop talking)
PurpleCoo · 24/10/2025 18:46

Week 36
Sw 96.55
CW 69.3
Weekly loss 0.35kg 😭
BMI 26.2
GW 65 (was 70kg before, but still have fat bits, which is really just belly, upper arms and inner thighs)

I did about 55 clicks of a 7.5mg pen last week and have gone up to 7.5 for the first time today. I was previously on 6.75 for about 10-11 weeks. My weight loss has really stalled. I have lost 1.3kg in a month. It seems weird that I am still having to move up while pretty much everyone else on here is reducing and at maintenance. That being said, what I am eating is long term sustainable for me, so it doesn't feel like a chore, I enjoy what I have and don't feel deprived. I skipped a period for the first time in my life (other than pregnancy) and am now due again I think. I binged the other night (well, relatively speaking, I ate an extra bagel, some grapes, nuts and some cheese), and got two spots, which is usually a sign of the impending monthly, so I am hoping my hormones are impacting on my scale weight, and I'll have a whoosh once my monthly arrived and goes again! I guess this is the next stage of menopause starting now!

I think I am starting to get loose skin on my belly as well, which also makes me think something is going on in the fat loss department, else why would my skin be looser? It's kind of annoying though, because a couple of weeks ago, I looked great in my fitted gym top, now so have a skinny belly roll/muffin top thing that hangs over the top of my leggings when I deadlift or row, so now I feel I look fatter 🤦‍♀️😭 Some will be premenstrual "I look fat" contributing I am sure. But still annoying. My skin only seems to start looking a bit loose for a week or two and then improves a bit, so hopefully that continues as I get smaller and eventually tightens up completely 🤞Although wearing a cropped bra style gym top may forever be beyond my reach, but I can live with that 🤣

WoolerOwl · 24/10/2025 20:04

@PurpleCoo I understand those hormonal "I look fat" feelings too. I know they don't objectively relate to my actual weight, though it may have gone up slightly with water retention etc, but they do feel real, on the rare occasions when I still get them now. I do think that the wobbly fat and loose skin appearance is more real - and then there's a sudden whoosh and they've gone and there's some weight loss on the scales. But none of it would be obvious to anyone else, especially when I have my clothes on. What is very real is your huge weight loss. 27kg is awesome, and I bet you look amazing too.

narkyspirit · 25/10/2025 07:54

@PurpleCoo
you have done amazing to drop that much. I think your weekly loss is a little out it's more like 0.7kg which is fantastic. I have also stalled and gained 1 kg in the last month. Keep up the good work

Ive been somewhat slower
38 weeks
SW 95.9
CW 77.1.

dropped 18.8 weekly Avg 0.495
Start BMI 37.2 current 29.7

I want to get to 70KG which will be BMI 27 at which point i should have pretty much come off MJ I'm reducing now down to 7.5 from 10.

MynameisJune · 25/10/2025 08:31

@PurpleCoo I’m another one who has stalled, I haven’t lost anything in a good few weeks. Hormones and work stress have probably played a part in that for me. I’m refusing to go up to 12.5mg. I’m 4lb away from my target weight, I’ve definitely started eating more since titrating down to 8mg from 10. But my level of eating when at 10 wasn’t sustainable once I come off or go lower so I’m just trying to make good choices and I definitely still feel fuller/satisfied quicker.

I'm very glad to be back on Mounjaro. Mounjaro cuts out those impulsive face stuffings.
Don't think I mentioned it on here but I told DH I was on it too. He took it fine, surprisingly...

WoolerOwl · 25/10/2025 16:55

NSV. Wearing my Donegal jumper today, first time out of the anti-moth bag this autumn. I’d always felt it was a bit disappointingly lumpy on me, but now I’m smaller it looks fab!

Second NSV yesterday. Buying (another!) jumper, I took the M into the changing room but the assistant said she though I should try an S instead! I actually bought the M because I need a layer underneath. But it was a nice experience.

Oooh @Rightstrideoflife
my OH doesn’t know I started MJ in feb

how did you break it to him?!

I need inspiration. 20kgs down and I’ve just been saying I am eating less.
he has also lost weight and afaik is not on the jabs but just because I’m giving him less food / he is eating less…..
