Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Well done, fellow losers! Hahaha!
I haven't been on the thread for a while but decided to catch up as I was at a bit of a loss what to do next and also because I seem to be hovering around the 70/71kg mark (with one short visit at 69.6kg)... so it's interesting to read that it's very common.

Also, reading everybody's posts has really motivated me, so thanks to you all.

I'm currently on 4th dose on 10mg, have another 10mg pen in the fridge and am jabbing every 8-10 days.
As said above, I'm not really losing more (but have also not eaten as well as I used to in the beginning), but have now decided to order a 7.5mg pen next,
I'm actually happy with the weight I am currently - even though I'm just at the lowest end of the overweight BMI. I feel I need to get away from my "obsession" of going below 70kg and also take BMI numbers with a pinch of salt.

I really appreciate everybody who posts here. It's good to read everybody's thoughts and experiences.
Well done all of us!

Another day, another plateau.
70.5kg 🙄

@viktoria I too share the below 70kg obsession! I guess I should reframe it as maintaining a healthy weight rather than plateauing. Even if I am at the tippity top of the healthy bmi bracket: it’s still green zone for me. I’ve stayed there for a few weeks now. 8 months ago I didn’t think it was even possible.

Still ridiculously cold. Currently in bed with hoodie, two duvets and 4 blankets. Just cannot get warm! Help!

@WoolerOwl fascinating about cholesterol. Stupid question how does one get that tested?

I’m the same with the cold @Mounjaroday I don’t warm up until I sit in a steaming hot bath. My electric bill this winter is going to be astronomical 😳

SpiralSister · 17/10/2025 08:42

Morning warriors! Weigh in day for me. Had a whoosh after not losing for 2 weeks.

SW: 15.5
CW: da da da da da da DA!! 10.8! Healthy BMI! At frigging last!
TL: 4.11
GW: was 10.7, think I will adjust to 10.5, as something in my neuro-spicy brain says a full 5 stone is correct. Mad.

I’m giddy with joy, can you tell? 😂

Have a great weekend warriors 💐

WoolerOwl · 17/10/2025 11:24

Well done, @SpiralSister !!! Healthy BMI is the best!!!

@Mounjaroday I booked it with a local pharmacy, through the "other services" part of my EMIS Patient Access portal which comes from my GP surgery. But I think you could probably find them by googling. Boots and other companies also do them as home kit where you do a finger prick and send it off by post. Mine was £49 for the pharmacist to do it.

Me too. I am looking at heated pads for my desk chair and already have a heated throw for the sofa. Much cheaper than heating the whole room. But it's only October! A long winter stretches ahead.

Mounjaroday · 17/10/2025 13:18

@SpiralSister get in!!!! Marvellous 🎉🎉🎉

OP posts:
WoolerOwl · 17/10/2025 14:08

I managed to get the golden dose out of my 7.5mg pen today, without bending the needle, or pouring it all over the floor, like the last few times I tried. Probably had about 8.5mg. Planning to go down to a 5mg pen next week and then a 2.5mg.

I am very curious to know if any of my inflammatory symptoms come back, and the migraine especially (I haven't had one for eight months, which is extraordinary). If they do, I suppose I could look at staying on 2.5mg but not sure if my current local pharmacy would allow that.

Zibb · 17/10/2025 17:58

@SpiralSister woohoo, that's amazing! Congrats and well done!

usedtobeaylis · 17/10/2025 19:33

It's amazing how much better staying on track with everything can make you feel even though you might be struggling in other areas. I've got a lot going on with work etc and feeling quite down about it, but managed to use this as a focus and stay absolutely spot on this week with food, calories and water, and had three excellent couch to 5k runs. It's not weigh-in day today but I did weigh this morning and it had me 3lb down at 12st 5lb - which is a four stone loss dead on. So even if Sunday shows differently I still feel it's going in the right direction as this is the first time I've got to that point.

I've had to order some new running leggings as my current ones are falling down every time I run 😅

Insane to think that all going well I should be in the 11s by the time of my Christmas night out😮

usedtobeaylis · 19/10/2025 10:47

W35 Day 1 - I think week 3 on 8.3mg
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 4lb
Loss this week: 4lb
Total loss: 4st 1lb

FOUR lb lost this week and now over four stone lost 🙌

I'd be happy to go back to losing 1lb a week now that I'm over that milestone. It felt like I was never going to get there.

Mounjaroday · 19/10/2025 11:28

Ah nice one @usedtobeaylis! You’re smashing it 🎉

Another NSV. Braved a weights circuits class: pelvic floor held up, no problem.

The cold is an issue. My fingertips keep going numb if I’ve been outside in the cold. Think it’s Raynaud’s. Anyone else experiencing this?

Haven’t posted for a while, I’m on week 37, day 2.
SW 15st 3
CW 12st 2

I’m going to bite the bullet and go up to 12.5 next week. Weight loss has slowed down - I’ve lost approximately 9 lbs since July and I’m finding it harder to resist temptation - a few sweet treats have started to creep back in. The annoying thing is that I only need to lose another pound and I’ll finally be overweight!
I’m going to do my best this week to go back to eating low carb

I'm at the same stage as you and the same SW & CW, I have always had a sweet treat during the last 37 weeks but this week too many and I've gained 0.8 kg.

Ive gone though the cupboards this morning and thrown all the sweet stuff in the bin on the way to the gym...

Keep up the good work

Yes! I swim a lot and recently noticed totally numb and yellow fingertips - this is completely new. Curses!

usedtobeaylis · 19/10/2025 12:05

Yes @Mounjaroday! I'm being really affected by the cold in general. I've long had issues with numbness in one finger (I always wonder if it's some after-effect of smoking especially as it's the hand I used to hold cigarettes in) but for the last few weeks I've been getting it in the fingers next to it as well, and they've been turning properly white. I've got some little hand warmers which were fairly cheap and help quite quickly, and if I remember I put gloves on the radiator or in the airing cupboard to make them a bit warmer. Worst case I get a hot cup of tea sit it on top of my fingers 😬I really hope it doesn't escalate as it's quite painful sometimes.

But I cannot cope with how the cold is affecting me in general. It's going to be a big heating bill this winter.

Zibb · 19/10/2025 22:10

I am also cold. I have never felt the cold before but now it's like my bones are frozen.

I am also so so so hungry all the time. Food noise is insane. I haven't completely given in to the sugar monster yet, trying to hold strong, but I did eat a whole bag of chocolate covered strawberries from Aldi tonight. They were amazing.

However I did also eat my dinner and some other snacks and also lunch. So wayyyy over my calories today but I just never feel full. Just like pre-mj.
Trying to stuff myself full of veggies and protein and a few beans and wholegrains rather than junk and upf but calories are calories and I feel like I'm screwed.

Ooo
@WoolerOwl do you have links to the items you would recommend?
I need a heated pad for my wfh chair and I would love a heated blanket for the sofa.
and another for my bed!!!

MynameisJune · 20/10/2025 04:25

Checking in for the new thread! Haven’t been on in a while as work has been crazy and I’ve been overwhelmed.

CW 10.12/68ish kg feels like I haven’t lost anything hugely significant in a while but overall it’s trending down. I’ve been taking 8mg from my 10 pen. I’ve got one more 10 to use and have a 5 in the fridge with the aim to taper down to that and then hopefully lower and maybe off but we’ll see.

I’ve noticed food noise creeping back in and more chocolate/sweets than previously but still no where near pre-MJ levels and I’m hoping I can keep it in moderation as I go down.

Also ridiculously cold, but that’s nothing really new for me I’ve always been cold even when I weighed 14.10. I get in a hot bath every night and I’m going out later today to get a heated blanket for the bed as that’s when I seem to struggle the most.

Ordered new pen with Swift Dr in hopes of staying with them for maintenance as they let you take breaks as long as it hasn’t been over a year. New pricing is hard to swallow though 😭

WoolerOwl · 20/10/2025 08:52

@mummymissessunshine I keep getting adverts for Stoov and - the nicest of the lot - Rolfstone. But there are cheaper ones on Amazon. I already have a small plug in heat mat that I put under my keyboard to warm up my wrists, which makes my hands warm. V cheap and effective.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 20/10/2025 12:32

Afternoon all, i am finally into the 60s. Weighed earlier this week at 69.8 but didn't want to jinx it so didn't report in. But today, I'm 69.6.... felt like it's been a struggle to get here!

Got 1 more dose of 7.5 then the golden dose. Need to make a decision, I think I'm going to titrate down to 5mg and go from there. I'm not ready to come off it yet and I've still got a bit to lose. TW at 65kg which ismt even a 'healthy' BMI but I dont think I want to lose much more than that.

SW 82.6kg
CW 69.6kg
TW 65kg (ish)

Happy Monday to you all 🤗

SpiralSister · 20/10/2025 14:53

I’ve noticed the food noise too, @MynameisJune, but have found it easier to resist than pre-MJ, plus still feeling full much more quickly, which I think is my saving grace.

Am hoping to be at goal by the end of this 7.5mg pen, which I started yesterday. If I am, I’ll go down to 5mg, then 2.5mg. I hope!

Evening, losers!
SW 89.2kg (14st 1)
CW 65.9 (10 st 5)

Still maintaining here, was 66.0kg last Monday. Read through weekend thread re lowering dose vs extending the gap between doses. Interesting. Not sure which to do. I have gone down from 7.5 to 6.25 (50 clicks), but maybe I should’ve stayed at 7.5 and just dragged it out to 8/9/10 days between jabs. Hmmm.

Have a good week all..
x

Things i have enjoyed today

  • Zipping up and old jacket that hasn't fit for years
  • Running this morning amd not having my knees screaming at me

Things I've not enjoyed today

  • Having to put the heating on, as well as extra socks and jumper
  • Having to wear a wooly hat to walk the dog

Enjoying the skin I'm in, just wish I wasn't so cold 🥶
