Mounjaroday · 12/10/2025 19:08

Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Yesterday's weigh-in
W44 Day 1 (week 6 on 8.5mg)
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 11st 13lb
Gain this week: 1lb
Total loss: 4st 6lb

So a wee pound on this week which is frankly miraculous and I expect more of a gain next week. I am eating allllllllllll the chocolate.

I'm actually really relaxed about my weight and food right now although I know that's because I've still got the luxury of two pens for after Christmas. Two weeks though and I start tapering down. I do not trust that I can go it alone 😆

Sadly I've started experiencing some intermittent pain in my heels again - I was about to see the GP for this when I started Mounjaro and it was gone within days of my first jag, so not necessarily weight-related as I had thought but possibly more to do with inflammation. I used to walk like a puppet when I got up in the morning and I've had a couple of mornings like that again recently. I'm possibly dreading the aches and pains returning more than gaining weight back. Its been so nice to float along with only exercise related pains for almost a year.

sweetpickle2 · 22/12/2025 13:15

I am somehow, miraculously, at my goal weight-

SW 107.8kg
CW 78kg

That's basically 30kgs gone, and I'm in a healthy BMI for the first time in my adult life.

However, I am now officially out of jabs and have decided not to buy anymore. I dithered for ages, but whilst I could probably scrape it together to get another now, eventually that will run out too and then I'll just be here again. I'm satisfied with that weight and going to go it alone.

Will see how long it lasts over Christmas though!

Zibb · 22/12/2025 16:06

Well done @sweetpickle2 !! Good luck for the next step in your journey, you're gonna smash it.

WoolerOwl · 22/12/2025 18:39

Well done, @sweetpickle2 ! Great achievement. Maintenance is definitely possible and we will do this!

CoolLimeSheep · 23/12/2025 07:18

@sweetpickle2 awesome youve smashed it! Enjoy christmas and see how we all do.
Is everybody all ready for xmas now ive got 2 days at work then off for 4 days 😊

usedtobeaylis · 23/12/2025 13:09

Dammit. I hate AI but have previously used chatgpt to help me figure out my doses of Mounjaro. Its refusing to do so now just when I'm needing it to help me calculate for tapering down 😩

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 23/12/2025 14:21

Hello you lovely lot, just a last check in before Christmas madness consumes. I got approved for Wegovy today, my pen has been despatched and i will start after Christmas, don't want to risk any new side effects that stop me enjoying my Christmas dinner!

I hope you all have a lovely festive break whatever you are doing, hoping for rest, ready to embrace 2026 😁☃️🥳🤶🎄

WoolerOwl · 23/12/2025 18:08

My mother in law has just arrived. With about ten kilos of cheese, plus crackers, various pickles and jams, and a whole pig’s worth of bacon and sausage. Plus chocolate brownies and panettone. Wine sent in advance.

Save me and help me.

Mounjaroday · 23/12/2025 23:34

@sweetpickle2 many congratulations!

I cant help @usedtobeaylis i didn't do tapering I was going down mg pen each month till was told to stop for fertility so went cold turkey..I will be honest im still receiving wegovy just in case iui doesnt work and I need go back on. Got 1.7mg and 1mg stores in fridge. @WoolerOwl a couple of days indulgence you shouldn't feel guilty youve worked so hard. Be kind to yourself and honestly I have indulged abit and my body does still tell me im full and nowhere like what I would of stuffed in before losing weight. @ThatJoyousHazelDuck hope wegovy goes well i was more hungry at first but it soon settled down after a couple of weeks so have a good one. Let xmas mayhem begin 🫶😊

Mounjaro Click Count & Dose Calculator | Fat Old Climber https://share.google/BopvNy2cAe21zawYR

This should help. I am tapering down and use this to calculate my doses. It works really well. Currently on 6.25

@wonderowl Aaw, lots of temptation there, it's ok to relax a little for a couple of day. I have had a houseful of cheese that I bought at a Christmas market since November and I also have a panettone and a box of mince pies. I haven't touched the cheese and keep forgetting I have the mince pies. But getting through them slowly. I found I'm not over eating at all, and just having small amounts of things.

Has anyone else found they just don't want all the usual stuff at Christmas? Usually I buy lots of party food and will be eating it for a week, but I haven't bought any this year. I have really gone off UPF and also deli meats (since reading they are a level 1 carcinogen), so I hoping this aversion is not the MJ and just me nowadays hating the idea of things. I did momentarily get tempted by a giant bowl of king prawn cocktail but put it back repulsed when I read the ingredients.

I'm having another short spell of STS weight wise, but my I have been ill and not exercises as much, I am a week late and at the end of two weeks of combi patches, so this seems to be expected and I think I will lose once. I switch to estrogen only and have a period.

Our Christmas starts today. Have a body pump class and then an escape room, which I am excited about.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas

Ps: This could be full of typos, the screen has gone weird due to the link I posted and can't proof read!

Mounjaroday · 24/12/2025 08:22

Wishing you all a lovely few days and congratulations to us all, for our HUGE achievements this year.

Last year I spent Christmas feeling very uncomfortable in my own skin. This feels absolutely fantastic.

Have a lot to do today. Family descends at 5pm so will be working like Cinderella to get the house guest clean. Will relax and enjoy a glass of wine with absolutely no guilt this evening.

Good luck losers. Enjoy Christmas in your new bodies!

Echo that, @Mounjaroday! Popping on to say Merry Christmas, warriors!
🎄🎄🎄

I’m so proud of all of us - what a year it’s been!

Enjoy your Christmas - a few extra calories won’t hurt, if they come with joy.

See you on the other side my lovelies 💐

usedtobeaylis · 24/12/2025 10:41

Getting to the end of the year and reflecting how far I've come, I'm totally stuck on the embarrassment of the photos from a night out in April where I went out feeling good and it turned out I looked absolutely terrible 😅

I've lost about 3.5 stone since that day so I know I don't look like that any more but I just want the ground to swallow me up anyway 😂

I hope everyone has a comfortable Christmas, feeling good about your progress and how hard you have worked 💜

Mounjaroday · 25/12/2025 23:01

That resonates, @usedtobeaylis. Feel similar about a wedding I went to in the spring. Felt bloody great on the day but I look at the photos and think god!!

Hope you have all had a lovely day. Am tucked up in bed with a cup of tea.

Morning all! Hope you’re having a good Christmas!

I’ve survived the cheese mountain, enjoyed some lovely treats in moderation, and managed to keep swimming, doing weights, and running. A good balance.

I do notice other people’s food pushing behaviour more than ever though and feel irritated by it. I am longing for the peaceful weekday workdays when I can just have a couple of boiled eggs for lunch without the pressure to eat more, more, more.

SpiralSister · 27/12/2025 10:29

Morning, @WoolerOwl and a very happy Christmas!

It’s going well here too! Stepped in the scales this morning, no weight gained despite a few treats and a few drinks. Vastly less than this time last year, and zero feeling of missing out or going without. I have planned lovely outfits for each day rather than enormous meals!

Off for a bracing walk over the frosty fields soon, hope everyone is having a lovely time too ❄️❄️❄️

laundryhamper · 27/12/2025 10:56

Seasons greetings losers!

Just been away somewhere I previously visited in January this year when I’d just had some very bad health news and hadn’t started losing lbs. Contrast in photos is 😳
Also, bikinis have been worn.

In other news, on a fit of over optimism on Christmas eve I broke the zip on an Italian size 44 skirt (supposedly UK16) 😱

CoolLimeSheep · 27/12/2025 12:27

Hi everyone glad youve had good Christmas and not gained.
I have 4lb oops but gone back to it swim this morning plan on gym and swim tomoz and I dont feel guilty I really enjoyed my xmas dinner favourite meal of the year for me 😊

MrsHero · 27/12/2025 19:56

Back to 10st 0.2lb after dropping triumphantly to 9st 13lb on the 23rd. Had a lovely xmas but found the food a bit overwhelming really. My family are big eaters, and it felt really strange turning down so many things (because I was full) which last year I'd have been tucking into! Home tomorrow and gym classes booked for a few nights over the next week so looking forward to 'normality'.

Mounjaroday · 28/12/2025 00:17

Well I’ve popped 1kg on, over the past 3 days. Just goes to show how very easy it is for the weight to creep back up.

I feel in control though - I have “mindfully indulged” (excuse the stupid phrasing) and looking forward to the challenge of losing that little gain.

OP posts:
Zibb · 28/12/2025 18:08

I have gained a lot, on the 19th I was 64kg and today I am 68kg.

Without mj I have no will power or discipline around food.

I'm gonna have to find a way to go back on it. Even 5mg will help I think .

Still, I have had a good week but determined to gain some control again.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 28/12/2025 19:01

Somewhat weirdly, having maintained my optimum weight of 9 stone 2lbs for months, I actually lost weight over Christmas and am now 8 stone 13lbs.

I think it's because we were at my mum's for Christmas and ages an atrocious cook, so I didn't really eat much of the main meals on Christmas day and Boxing Day. I did make up for it with cheese though.

usedtobeaylis · 28/12/2025 19:31

I'm still clinging on to 11st 13lb for dear life but I'm not doing an official weigh in this weekend - I imagine next weekend will show a gain as I have eaten atrociously and enjoyed it but I have to admit I'm looking forward to getting back to soups and omelettes and my usual eating routine. I'm hoping that's a sign of better habits becoming ingrained where Christmas is an aberration rather than a continuation of the norm. I don't think a sip of water has passed my lips for about five days😬

I'm am very, very proud to be going into the new year without the weight (pun intended!) of a new year resolution around diet and exercise hanging over me. I know I've still got work to do and I know I can do it but I'm not pressuring myself in any way.

laundryhamper · 28/12/2025 20:48

@zibb 4kg in a week, really? Is any of it water?
