Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Morning everyone!

Although I've not been posting I've been keeping up with all your wonderful successes.
I'm so proud of us all! I cannot believe we're almost at a year mark and what a year it's been!
I want to thank each and every one of you for being on this rollercoaster with me. For the most part you were the only ones who knew I was on mj and I'm eternally grateful for all the support.

This week I hit 5 stone loss! 5 stone! Although the non scale victories seem to be more what's keeping me going.

Went away last weekend and had photo with friends and I actually liked them. But it's things like my collar bone and fingers I can't stop looking at 😂

Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend ❤️

Hope your doing alright? Thats really good maintaining 😊

SpiralSister · 16/12/2025 08:19

Thanks @CoolLimeSheep! I do seem to have settled in at 10.4/10.5. Wearing 10/12. That’ll do me!

I fear I will have to have another good run at my wardrobe in the New Year and get Vinting. 14’s are massive, and some of the 12’s look at bit loose too. Plus I massively overbought 😂

CoolLimeSheep · 16/12/2025 08:26

@SpiralSister I was same over buying clothes at certain size kept buying 12/14 dresses and they are baggy. I can fit 8/10 on bottom top id say 10/12 need do another boob measure but that can wait. I love that you feel happy at what size you are. I feel same I was worried I would take it to far losing weight but satisfyingly I feel happy at what I am imperfections aswell.
Been a long time coming for us all to start feeling better about ourselves doesnt it.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD WEEK AND ENJOYS THE FESTIVITIES COMING UP 😊

WoolerOwl · 17/12/2025 10:18

My 14s are massive too, @SpiralSister . I definitely bought too much at the stage of moving down from 14 to 12. And now the 12s look baggy and I have bought a few 10s. I can't face going all the way through the wardrobe again but I can feel myself limiting the options of the trousers I wear because I know that many will be very baggy. It's a nice problem to have!

I am doing something horribly, publicly stressful at work today. The thought that I won't look fat on camera like the last time I did a similar horrible, publicly stressful thing is keeping me going. But my (much reduced!) stomach is still doing somersaults.

Zibb · 18/12/2025 23:15

@WoolerOwl hope your work thing went well!

I have been eating like crap for the past couple of weeks. Not even in a fun way because of festivities but just in a stressed out bad habits kinda way. Takeaways, too much chocolate, not enough vegetables, not drinking enough water.

I feel dreadful for it as well. Really understand now how a crap diet makes me feel crap.

Have managed to maintain so far but I need to give my head a wobble because it will be a gain soon enough.

WoolerOwl · 19/12/2025 07:05

@Zibb I had a day like that yesterday. Including cookies, nuts, and mint chocolate orange. Nowhere near enough water or veg. I’m giving my head a wobble today. I can’t afford to slip back. And when my m-i-l arrives next week with tonnes of treats, I’ll need to be really careful. I’m wondering whether to write myself some “commitments” for what I intend to stick to, healthy, with moderate treats, plus exercise. Anyone else up for that?

Work thing was tough but it went well and I got a lot of praise, so I’m content. Plus a few texts saying “you look … well”. Which was nice.

Zibb · 19/12/2025 21:32

@WoolerOwl that sounds like a good idea, i think i will join you.

Today though I've been celebrating my birthday. Went into the city to do a bit of shopping and I actually felt good about myself. This sounds soooo vain but I kept looking at myself in those massive mirrors and was like "oooh, that's me!!"

I have eaten a LOT today. I had breakfast and then 4 lunches...! All smaller snacky things but still. I added guestimates to Nutracheck and ooooh dear. But whatever, it's my birthday. I've had a great day and I feel motivated about a fresh start tomorrow.

WoolerOwl · 19/12/2025 22:17

Ok. Here goes. The commitments for Christmas week and the next week - I have two weeks off work, family all at home, and m-i-l for six days.

The Dos

Lots of clear fluids and my daily electrolytes
Some kind of walk every day
Two gym/weights sessions as set by my PT
Two runs a week
Plate half full of veg at main meal
Plenty of protein
Very small carbs portions
Fruit first - eg an apple, a couple of satsumas - before joining in the evening cheese board
Stop when full
Taste and enjoy every mouthful - no guilt
Weigh every day

The Don’ts
Go back for seconds
Eat more than three portions of pudding/cake during Christmas week (but then back on the no pudding, only fruit discipline)
Graze! Just two (or occasionally three) solid meals a day.

I need to remind myself that I feel fit, happy, light, and healthy like this. No reason to give it up. Or succumb to other people’s views about pigging out being an essential way of celebrating.

mummymissessunshine · 20/12/2025 11:21

OMG. It has started.
MiL arrived and has already begun the “don’t lose any more weight, will look bad on your face, which already doesn’t look great”

WTAF

i look f-ing fabulous. Incl my face.

I am H-O-T

size 10.

with a face you might expect at my age.

who the hell does she think she is?!

anyone else getting this?

mummymissessunshine · 20/12/2025 11:26

In other news. I bought some clothes in Black Friday sale. Fabulous size 10 trousers and similar. And my friend introduced me to a tailor who has made them sing (I’m too short for my personality and shopping choices!!!!)

she shortened but also tailored the legs.

I really do look hot in the new (to me) jumpsuit
very happy lady!!

my stats:
SW 80kgs last Christmas. Size 16 (BMI 30 obese)
CW 58kgs size 10 BMI 22.
a 27% loss!!

am I going to lose more? Who knows. I’m not setting out now thinking I want to lose any more but I am trying to maintain. If I do lose a few more I won’t be upset about it as I’d like a bit of a buffer. For holidays and parties!!!

SpiralSister · 20/12/2025 12:10

Oh yeah, @mummymissessunshine - reported third hand. Have you seen Spiral? She looks so ill.

Bloody cheek.

WoolerOwl · 20/12/2025 16:31

We need a list of comebacks to those comments, which are outrageous.

How about:

I feel fabulous.
What’s the problem you’re trying to solve?
I’m following my GP’s professional advice. What are your qualifications for saying that?

And a few ruder ones that we might all be imagining.

SpiralSister · 20/12/2025 18:05

How about, ‘actually it’s great being slim and healthy. I really recommend it to you!’

Only works if they are a bit porky themselves, obvs. And too cruel for me to actually say out loud!

On a more positive note, the butcher said to me today ‘now there’s no one else in the shop, you’ve lost a lot of weight, can I ask…’ worriedly.
I meant to, I explained. He was relieved, delighted and complimentary. How sweet!

usedtobeaylis · 20/12/2025 18:49

This time last year I skipped a couple of Christmas events because nothing felt right or comfortable to wear. Yesterday I wore size 14 jeans and a size S mens jumper after I realised the (size M) t shirt I had initially been going to wear was too big. What a turnaround! Trying things on in the shop mirror the other day, I couldn't believe it was me.

I have a strange problem though and it is VPL 😂I never had this issue when I was fatter but now I feel like no matter what underwear I buy, there's a highly visible VPL. Does anyone have any recommendations for decent underwear that minimises it and also gives a bit of a lift to the derriere? Flat as a pancake.

Zibb · 20/12/2025 19:59

@usedtobeaylis have a look at the seamless bum booster shorts from M&S.

CoolLimeSheep · 20/12/2025 21:40

CoolLimeSheep · 20/12/2025 21:42

My target weight (for now!) is 10st. I've been frustratingly stuck at 10st 0.2lb for the last 3 days. So hope I can reach target before Christmas!!
